وَمِمَّنْ حَوْلَكُمْ مِّنَ الْاَعْرَابِ مُنٰفِقُوْنَ ۗوَمِنْ اَهْلِ الْمَدِيْنَةِ مَرَدُوْا عَلَى النِّفَاقِۗ لَا تَعْلَمُهُمْۗ نَحْنُ نَعْلَمُهُمْۗ سَنُعَذِّبُهُمْ مَّرَّتَيْنِ ثُمَّ يُرَدُّوْنَ اِلٰى عَذَابٍ عَظِيْمٍ ۚ ١٠١
- wamimman
- وَمِمَّنْ
- And among those
- ḥawlakum
- حَوْلَكُم
- around you
- mina
- مِّنَ
- of
- l-aʿrābi
- ٱلْأَعْرَابِ
- the bedouins
- munāfiqūna
- مُنَٰفِقُونَۖ
- (are) hypocrites
- wamin
- وَمِنْ
- and (also) from
- ahli
- أَهْلِ
- people
- l-madīnati
- ٱلْمَدِينَةِۖ
- (of) the Madinah
- maradū
- مَرَدُوا۟
- They persist
- ʿalā
- عَلَى
- in
- l-nifāqi
- ٱلنِّفَاقِ
- the hypocrisy
- lā
- لَا
- not
- taʿlamuhum
- تَعْلَمُهُمْۖ
- you know them
- naḥnu
- نَحْنُ
- We
- naʿlamuhum
- نَعْلَمُهُمْۚ
- [We] know them
- sanuʿadhibuhum
- سَنُعَذِّبُهُم
- We will punish them
- marratayni
- مَّرَّتَيْنِ
- twice
- thumma
- ثُمَّ
- then
- yuraddūna
- يُرَدُّونَ
- they will be returned
- ilā
- إِلَىٰ
- to
- ʿadhābin
- عَذَابٍ
- a punishment
- ʿaẓīmin
- عَظِيمٍ
- great
And among those around you of the bedouins are hypocrites, and [also] from the people of Madinah. They have persisted in hypocrisy. You, [O Muhammad], do not know them, [but] We know them. We will punish them twice [in this world]; then they will be returned to a great punishment. (QS. [9] At-Tawbah: 101)Tafsir
وَاٰخَرُوْنَ اعْتَرَفُوْا بِذُنُوْبِهِمْ خَلَطُوْا عَمَلًا صَالِحًا وَّاٰخَرَ سَيِّئًاۗ عَسَى اللّٰهُ اَنْ يَّتُوْبَ عَلَيْهِمْۗ اِنَّ اللّٰهَ غَفُوْرٌ رَّحِيْمٌ ١٠٢
- waākharūna
- وَءَاخَرُونَ
- And others
- iʿ'tarafū
- ٱعْتَرَفُوا۟
- (who have) acknowledged
- bidhunūbihim
- بِذُنُوبِهِمْ
- their sins
- khalaṭū
- خَلَطُوا۟
- They had mixed
- ʿamalan
- عَمَلًا
- a deed
- ṣāliḥan
- صَٰلِحًا
- righteous
- waākhara
- وَءَاخَرَ
- (with) other
- sayyi-an
- سَيِّئًا
- (that was) evil
- ʿasā
- عَسَى
- Perhaps
- l-lahu
- ٱللَّهُ
- Allah
- an
- أَن
- [that]
- yatūba
- يَتُوبَ
- will turn (in mercy)
- ʿalayhim
- عَلَيْهِمْۚ
- to them
- inna
- إِنَّ
- Indeed
- l-laha
- ٱللَّهَ
- Allah
- ghafūrun
- غَفُورٌ
- (is) Oft-Forgiving
- raḥīmun
- رَّحِيمٌ
- Most Merciful
And [there are] others who have acknowledged their sins. They had mixed [i.e., polluted] a righteous deed with another that was bad. Perhaps Allah will turn to them in forgiveness. Indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful. (QS. [9] At-Tawbah: 102)Tafsir
خُذْ مِنْ اَمْوَالِهِمْ صَدَقَةً تُطَهِّرُهُمْ وَتُزَكِّيْهِمْ بِهَا وَصَلِّ عَلَيْهِمْۗ اِنَّ صَلٰوتَكَ سَكَنٌ لَّهُمْۗ وَاللّٰهُ سَمِيْعٌ عَلِيْمٌ ١٠٣
- khudh
- خُذْ
- Take
- min
- مِنْ
- from
- amwālihim
- أَمْوَٰلِهِمْ
- their wealth
- ṣadaqatan
- صَدَقَةً
- a charity
- tuṭahhiruhum
- تُطَهِّرُهُمْ
- purifying them
- watuzakkīhim
- وَتُزَكِّيهِم
- and cause them increase
- bihā
- بِهَا
- by it
- waṣalli
- وَصَلِّ
- and bless
- ʿalayhim
- عَلَيْهِمْۖ
- [upon] them
- inna
- إِنَّ
- Indeed
- ṣalataka
- صَلَوٰتَكَ
- your blessings
- sakanun
- سَكَنٌ
- (are a) reassurance
- lahum
- لَّهُمْۗ
- for them
- wal-lahu
- وَٱللَّهُ
- And Allah
- samīʿun
- سَمِيعٌ
- (is) All-Hearer
- ʿalīmun
- عَلِيمٌ
- All-Knower
Take, [O Muhammad], from their wealth a charity by which you purify them and cause them increase, and invoke [Allah's blessings] upon them. Indeed, your invocations are reassurance for them. And Allah is Hearing and Knowing. (QS. [9] At-Tawbah: 103)Tafsir
اَلَمْ يَعْلَمُوْٓا اَنَّ اللّٰهَ هُوَ يَقْبَلُ التَّوْبَةَ عَنْ عِبَادِهٖ وَيَأْخُذُ الصَّدَقٰتِ وَاَنَّ اللّٰهَ هُوَ التَّوَّابُ الرَّحِيْمُ ١٠٤
- alam
- أَلَمْ
- Do not
- yaʿlamū
- يَعْلَمُوٓا۟
- they know
- anna
- أَنَّ
- that
- l-laha
- ٱللَّهَ
- Allah
- huwa
- هُوَ
- (is) He
- yaqbalu
- يَقْبَلُ
- (Who) accepts
- l-tawbata
- ٱلتَّوْبَةَ
- the repentance
- ʿan
- عَنْ
- from
- ʿibādihi
- عِبَادِهِۦ
- His slaves
- wayakhudhu
- وَيَأْخُذُ
- and takes
- l-ṣadaqāti
- ٱلصَّدَقَٰتِ
- the charities
- wa-anna
- وَأَنَّ
- and that
- l-laha
- ٱللَّهَ
- Allah
- huwa
- هُوَ
- He
- l-tawābu
- ٱلتَّوَّابُ
- (is) the Acceptor of repentance
- l-raḥīmu
- ٱلرَّحِيمُ
- the Most Merciful
Do they not know that it is Allah who accepts repentance from His servants and receives charities and that it is Allah who is the Accepting of Repentance, the Merciful? (QS. [9] At-Tawbah: 104)Tafsir
وَقُلِ اعْمَلُوْا فَسَيَرَى اللّٰهُ عَمَلَكُمْ وَرَسُوْلُهٗ وَالْمُؤْمِنُوْنَۗ وَسَتُرَدُّوْنَ اِلٰى عٰلِمِ الْغَيْبِ وَالشَّهَادَةِ فَيُنَبِّئُكُمْ بِمَا كُنْتُمْ تَعْمَلُوْنَۚ ١٠٥
- waquli
- وَقُلِ
- And say
- iʿ'malū
- ٱعْمَلُوا۟
- "Do
- fasayarā
- فَسَيَرَى
- then Allah will see
- l-lahu
- ٱللَّهُ
- then Allah will see
- ʿamalakum
- عَمَلَكُمْ
- your deed
- warasūluhu
- وَرَسُولُهُۥ
- and His Messenger
- wal-mu'minūna
- وَٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَۖ
- and the believers
- wasaturaddūna
- وَسَتُرَدُّونَ
- And you will be brought back
- ilā
- إِلَىٰ
- to
- ʿālimi
- عَٰلِمِ
- (the) Knower
- l-ghaybi
- ٱلْغَيْبِ
- (of) the unseen
- wal-shahādati
- وَٱلشَّهَٰدَةِ
- and the seen
- fayunabbi-ukum
- فَيُنَبِّئُكُم
- then He will inform you
- bimā
- بِمَا
- of what
- kuntum
- كُنتُمْ
- you used (to)
- taʿmalūna
- تَعْمَلُونَ
- do"
And say, "Do [as you will], for Allah will see your deeds, and [so will] His Messenger and the believers. And you will be returned to the Knower of the unseen and the witnessed, and He will inform you of what you used to do." (QS. [9] At-Tawbah: 105)Tafsir
وَاٰخَرُوْنَ مُرْجَوْنَ لِاَمْرِ اللّٰهِ اِمَّا يُعَذِّبُهُمْ وَاِمَّا يَتُوْبُ عَلَيْهِمْۗ وَاللّٰهُ عَلِيْمٌ حَكِيْمٌ ١٠٦
- waākharūna
- وَءَاخَرُونَ
- And others
- mur'jawna
- مُرْجَوْنَ
- deferred
- li-amri
- لِأَمْرِ
- for the Command of Allah
- l-lahi
- ٱللَّهِ
- for the Command of Allah
- immā
- إِمَّا
- whether
- yuʿadhibuhum
- يُعَذِّبُهُمْ
- He will punish them
- wa-immā
- وَإِمَّا
- or
- yatūbu
- يَتُوبُ
- He will turn (in mercy)
- ʿalayhim
- عَلَيْهِمْۗ
- to them
- wal-lahu
- وَٱللَّهُ
- And Allah
- ʿalīmun
- عَلِيمٌ
- (is) All-Knower
- ḥakīmun
- حَكِيمٌ
- All-Wise
And [there are] others deferred until the command of Allah – whether He will punish them or whether He will forgive them. And Allah is Knowing and Wise. (QS. [9] At-Tawbah: 106)Tafsir
وَالَّذِيْنَ اتَّخَذُوْا مَسْجِدًا ضِرَارًا وَّكُفْرًا وَّتَفْرِيْقًاۢ بَيْنَ الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ وَاِرْصَادًا لِّمَنْ حَارَبَ اللّٰهَ وَرَسُوْلَهٗ مِنْ قَبْلُ ۗوَلَيَحْلِفُنَّ اِنْ اَرَدْنَآ اِلَّا الْحُسْنٰىۗ وَاللّٰهُ يَشْهَدُ اِنَّهُمْ لَكٰذِبُوْنَ ١٠٧
- wa-alladhīna
- وَٱلَّذِينَ
- And those who
- ittakhadhū
- ٱتَّخَذُوا۟
- take
- masjidan
- مَسْجِدًا
- a masjid
- ḍirāran
- ضِرَارًا
- (for causing) harm
- wakuf'ran
- وَكُفْرًا
- and (for) disbelief
- watafrīqan
- وَتَفْرِيقًۢا
- and (for) division
- bayna
- بَيْنَ
- among
- l-mu'minīna
- ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
- the believers
- wa-ir'ṣādan
- وَإِرْصَادًا
- and (as) a station
- liman
- لِّمَنْ
- for whoever
- ḥāraba
- حَارَبَ
- warred
- l-laha
- ٱللَّهَ
- (against) Allah
- warasūlahu
- وَرَسُولَهُۥ
- and His Messenger
- min
- مِن
- before
- qablu
- قَبْلُۚ
- before
- walayaḥlifunna
- وَلَيَحْلِفُنَّ
- And surely they will swear
- in
- إِنْ
- "Not
- aradnā
- أَرَدْنَآ
- we wish
- illā
- إِلَّا
- except
- l-ḥus'nā
- ٱلْحُسْنَىٰۖ
- the good"
- wal-lahu
- وَٱللَّهُ
- But Allah
- yashhadu
- يَشْهَدُ
- bears witness
- innahum
- إِنَّهُمْ
- indeed, they
- lakādhibūna
- لَكَٰذِبُونَ
- (are) surely liars
And [there are] those [hypocrites] who took for themselves a mosque for causing harm and disbelief and division among the believers and as a station for whoever had warred against Allah and His Messenger before. And they will surely swear, "We intended only the best." And Allah testifies that indeed they are liars. (QS. [9] At-Tawbah: 107)Tafsir
لَا تَقُمْ فِيْهِ اَبَدًاۗ لَمَسْجِدٌ اُسِّسَ عَلَى التَّقْوٰى مِنْ اَوَّلِ يَوْمٍ اَحَقُّ اَنْ تَقُوْمَ فِيْهِۗ فِيْهِ رِجَالٌ يُّحِبُّوْنَ اَنْ يَّتَطَهَّرُوْاۗ وَاللّٰهُ يُحِبُّ الْمُطَّهِّرِيْنَ ١٠٨

- لَا
- (Do) not
- taqum
- تَقُمْ
- stand
- fīhi
- فِيهِ
- in it
- abadan
- أَبَدًاۚ
- ever
- lamasjidun
- لَّمَسْجِدٌ
- A masjid
- ussisa
- أُسِّسَ
- founded
- ʿalā
- عَلَى
- on
- l-taqwā
- ٱلتَّقْوَىٰ
- the righteousness
- min
- مِنْ
- from
- awwali
- أَوَّلِ
- (the) first
- yawmin
- يَوْمٍ
- day
- aḥaqqu
- أَحَقُّ
- (is) more worthy
- an
- أَن
- that
- taqūma
- تَقُومَ
- you stand
- fīhi
- فِيهِۚ
- in it
- fīhi
- فِيهِ
- Within it
- rijālun
- رِجَالٌ
- (are) men
- yuḥibbūna
- يُحِبُّونَ
- who love
- an
- أَن
- to
- yataṭahharū
- يَتَطَهَّرُوا۟ۚ
- purify themselves
- wal-lahu
- وَٱللَّهُ
- and Allah
- yuḥibbu
- يُحِبُّ
- loves
- l-muṭahirīna
- ٱلْمُطَّهِّرِينَ
- the ones who purify themselves
Do not stand [for prayer] within it – ever. A mosque founded on righteousness from the first day is more worthy for you to stand in. Within it are men who love to purify themselves; and Allah loves those who purify themselves. (QS. [9] At-Tawbah: 108)Tafsir
اَفَمَنْ اَسَّسَ بُنْيَانَهٗ عَلٰى تَقْوٰى مِنَ اللّٰهِ وَرِضْوَانٍ خَيْرٌ اَمْ مَّنْ اَسَّسَ بُنْيَانَهٗ عَلٰى شَفَا جُرُفٍ هَارٍ فَانْهَارَ بِهٖ فِيْ نَارِ جَهَنَّمَۗ وَاللّٰهُ لَا يَهْدِى الْقَوْمَ الظّٰلِمِيْنَ ١٠٩
- afaman
- أَفَمَنْ
- Then is (one) who
- assasa
- أَسَّسَ
- founded
- bun'yānahu
- بُنْيَٰنَهُۥ
- his building
- ʿalā
- عَلَىٰ
- on
- taqwā
- تَقْوَىٰ
- righteousness
- mina
- مِنَ
- from
- l-lahi
- ٱللَّهِ
- Allah
- wariḍ'wānin
- وَرِضْوَٰنٍ
- and (His) pleasure
- khayrun
- خَيْرٌ
- better
- am
- أَم
- or
- man
- مَّنْ
- (one) who
- assasa
- أَسَّسَ
- founded
- bun'yānahu
- بُنْيَٰنَهُۥ
- his building
- ʿalā
- عَلَىٰ
- on
- shafā
- شَفَا
- edge
- jurufin
- جُرُفٍ
- (of) a cliff
- hārin
- هَارٍ
- (about to) collapse
- fa-in'hāra
- فَٱنْهَارَ
- so it collapsed
- bihi
- بِهِۦ
- with him
- fī
- فِى
- in
- nāri
- نَارِ
- (the) Fire
- jahannama
- جَهَنَّمَۗ
- (of) Hell
- wal-lahu
- وَٱللَّهُ
- And Allah
- lā
- لَا
- (does) not
- yahdī
- يَهْدِى
- guide
- l-qawma
- ٱلْقَوْمَ
- the wrongdoing people
- l-ẓālimīna
- ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ
- the wrongdoing people
Then is one who laid the foundation of his building on righteousness [with fear] from Allah and [seeking] His approval better or one who laid the foundation of his building on the edge of a bank about to collapse, so it collapsed with him into the fire of Hell? And Allah does not guide the wrongdoing people. (QS. [9] At-Tawbah: 109)Tafsir
لَا يَزَالُ بُنْيَانُهُمُ الَّذِيْ بَنَوْا رِيْبَةً فِيْ قُلُوْبِهِمْ اِلَّآ اَنْ تَقَطَّعَ قُلُوْبُهُمْۗ وَاللّٰهُ عَلِيْمٌ حَكِيْمٌ ࣖ ١١٠
- lā
- لَا
- Not
- yazālu
- يَزَالُ
- (will) cease
- bun'yānuhumu
- بُنْيَٰنُهُمُ
- their building
- alladhī
- ٱلَّذِى
- which
- banaw
- بَنَوْا۟
- they built
- rībatan
- رِيبَةً
- a (cause of) doubt
- fī
- فِى
- in
- qulūbihim
- قُلُوبِهِمْ
- their hearts
- illā
- إِلَّآ
- except
- an
- أَن
- that
- taqaṭṭaʿa
- تَقَطَّعَ
- (are) cut into pieces
- qulūbuhum
- قُلُوبُهُمْۗ
- their hearts
- wal-lahu
- وَٱللَّهُ
- And Allah
- ʿalīmun
- عَلِيمٌ
- (is) All-Knower
- ḥakīmun
- حَكِيمٌ
- All-Wise
Their building which they built will not cease to be a [cause of] skepticism in their hearts until their hearts are cut [i.e., stopped]. And Allah is Knowing and Wise. (QS. [9] At-Tawbah: 110)Tafsir
