وَاِذَا قِيْلَ لَهُمْ تَعَالَوْا اِلٰى مَآ اَنْزَلَ اللّٰهُ وَاِلَى الرَّسُوْلِ رَاَيْتَ الْمُنٰفِقِيْنَ يَصُدُّوْنَ عَنْكَ صُدُوْدًاۚ ٦١
- wa-idhā
- وَإِذَا
- And when
- qīla
- قِيلَ
- it is said
- lahum
- لَهُمْ
- to them
- taʿālaw
- تَعَالَوْا۟
- "Come
- ilā
- إِلَىٰ
- to
- mā
- مَآ
- what
- anzala
- أَنزَلَ
- (has) revealed
- l-lahu
- ٱللَّهُ
- Allah
- wa-ilā
- وَإِلَى
- and to
- l-rasūli
- ٱلرَّسُولِ
- the Messenger"
- ra-ayta
- رَأَيْتَ
- you see
- l-munāfiqīna
- ٱلْمُنَٰفِقِينَ
- the hypocrites
- yaṣuddūna
- يَصُدُّونَ
- turning away
- ʿanka
- عَنكَ
- from you
- ṣudūdan
- صُدُودًا
- (in) aversion
And when it is said to them, "Come to what Allah has revealed and to the Messenger," you see the hypocrites turning away from you in aversion. (QS. [4] An-Nisa: 61)Tafsir
فَكَيْفَ اِذَآ اَصَابَتْهُمْ مُّصِيْبَةٌ ۢبِمَا قَدَّمَتْ اَيْدِيْهِمْ ثُمَّ جَاۤءُوْكَ يَحْلِفُوْنَ بِاللّٰهِ ۖاِنْ اَرَدْنَآ اِلَّآ اِحْسَانًا وَّتَوْفِيْقًا ٦٢
- fakayfa
- فَكَيْفَ
- So how
- idhā
- إِذَآ
- when
- aṣābathum
- أَصَٰبَتْهُم
- befalls them
- muṣībatun
- مُّصِيبَةٌۢ
- disaster
- bimā
- بِمَا
- for what
- qaddamat
- قَدَّمَتْ
- sent forth
- aydīhim
- أَيْدِيهِمْ
- their hands
- thumma
- ثُمَّ
- then
- jāūka
- جَآءُوكَ
- they come to you
- yaḥlifūna
- يَحْلِفُونَ
- swearing
- bil-lahi
- بِٱللَّهِ
- by Allah
- in
- إِنْ
- "Not
- aradnā
- أَرَدْنَآ
- we intended
- illā
- إِلَّآ
- except
- iḥ'sānan
- إِحْسَٰنًا
- good
- watawfīqan
- وَتَوْفِيقًا
- and reconciliation"
So how [will it be] when disaster strikes them because of what their hands have put forth and then they come to you swearing by Allah, "We intended nothing but good conduct and accommodation." (QS. [4] An-Nisa: 62)Tafsir
اُولٰۤىِٕكَ الَّذِيْنَ يَعْلَمُ اللّٰهُ مَا فِيْ قُلُوْبِهِمْ فَاَعْرِضْ عَنْهُمْ وَعِظْهُمْ وَقُلْ لَّهُمْ فِيْٓ اَنْفُسِهِمْ قَوْلًا ۢ بَلِيْغًا ٦٣
- ulāika
- أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ
- Those
- alladhīna
- ٱلَّذِينَ
- (are) the ones who
- yaʿlamu
- يَعْلَمُ
- knows
- l-lahu
- ٱللَّهُ
- Allah
- mā
- مَا
- what
- fī
- فِى
- (is) in
- qulūbihim
- قُلُوبِهِمْ
- their hearts
- fa-aʿriḍ
- فَأَعْرِضْ
- so turn away
- ʿanhum
- عَنْهُمْ
- from them
- waʿiẓ'hum
- وَعِظْهُمْ
- and admonish them
- waqul
- وَقُل
- and say
- lahum
- لَّهُمْ
- to them
- fī
- فِىٓ
- concerning
- anfusihim
- أَنفُسِهِمْ
- their souls
- qawlan
- قَوْلًۢا
- a word
- balīghan
- بَلِيغًا
- penetrating
Those are the ones of whom Allah knows what is in their hearts, so turn away from them but admonish them and speak to them a far-reaching [i.e., effective] word. (QS. [4] An-Nisa: 63)Tafsir
وَمَآ اَرْسَلْنَا مِنْ رَّسُوْلٍ اِلَّا لِيُطَاعَ بِاِذْنِ اللّٰهِ ۗوَلَوْ اَنَّهُمْ اِذْ ظَّلَمُوْٓا اَنْفُسَهُمْ جَاۤءُوْكَ فَاسْتَغْفَرُوا اللّٰهَ وَاسْتَغْفَرَ لَهُمُ الرَّسُوْلُ لَوَجَدُوا اللّٰهَ تَوَّابًا رَّحِيْمًا ٦٤
- wamā
- وَمَآ
- And not
- arsalnā
- أَرْسَلْنَا
- We sent
- min
- مِن
- any
- rasūlin
- رَّسُولٍ
- Messenger
- illā
- إِلَّا
- except
- liyuṭāʿa
- لِيُطَاعَ
- to be obeyed
- bi-idh'ni
- بِإِذْنِ
- by (the) permission
- l-lahi
- ٱللَّهِۚ
- (of) Allah
- walaw
- وَلَوْ
- And if
- annahum
- أَنَّهُمْ
- [that] they
- idh
- إِذ
- when
- ẓalamū
- ظَّلَمُوٓا۟
- they wronged
- anfusahum
- أَنفُسَهُمْ
- themselves
- jāūka
- جَآءُوكَ
- (had) come to you
- fa-is'taghfarū
- فَٱسْتَغْفَرُوا۟
- and asked forgiveness
- l-laha
- ٱللَّهَ
- (of) Allah
- wa-is'taghfara
- وَٱسْتَغْفَرَ
- and asked forgiveness
- lahumu
- لَهُمُ
- for them
- l-rasūlu
- ٱلرَّسُولُ
- the Messenger
- lawajadū
- لَوَجَدُوا۟
- surely they would have found
- l-laha
- ٱللَّهَ
- Allah
- tawwāban
- تَوَّابًا
- Oft-Forgiving
- raḥīman
- رَّحِيمًا
- Most Merciful
And We did not send any messenger except to be obeyed by permission of Allah. And if, when they wronged themselves, they had come to you, [O Muhammad], and asked forgiveness of Allah and the Messenger had asked forgiveness for them, they would have found Allah Accepting of Repentance and Merciful. (QS. [4] An-Nisa: 64)Tafsir
فَلَا وَرَبِّكَ لَا يُؤْمِنُوْنَ حَتّٰى يُحَكِّمُوْكَ فِيْمَا شَجَرَ بَيْنَهُمْ ثُمَّ لَا يَجِدُوْا فِيْٓ اَنْفُسِهِمْ حَرَجًا مِّمَّا قَضَيْتَ وَيُسَلِّمُوْا تَسْلِيْمًا ٦٥
- falā
- فَلَا
- But no
- warabbika
- وَرَبِّكَ
- by your Lord
- lā
- لَا
- not
- yu'minūna
- يُؤْمِنُونَ
- will they believe
- ḥattā
- حَتَّىٰ
- until
- yuḥakkimūka
- يُحَكِّمُوكَ
- they make you judge
- fīmā
- فِيمَا
- about what
- shajara
- شَجَرَ
- arises
- baynahum
- بَيْنَهُمْ
- between them
- thumma
- ثُمَّ
- then
- lā
- لَا
- not
- yajidū
- يَجِدُوا۟
- they find
- fī
- فِىٓ
- in
- anfusihim
- أَنفُسِهِمْ
- themselves
- ḥarajan
- حَرَجًا
- any discomfort
- mimmā
- مِّمَّا
- about what
- qaḍayta
- قَضَيْتَ
- you (have) decided
- wayusallimū
- وَيُسَلِّمُوا۟
- and submit
- taslīman
- تَسْلِيمًا
- (in full) submission
But no, by your Lord, they will not [truly] believe until they make you, [O Muhammad], judge concerning that over which they dispute among themselves and then find within themselves no discomfort from what you have judged and submit in [full, willing] submission. (QS. [4] An-Nisa: 65)Tafsir
وَلَوْ اَنَّا كَتَبْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ اَنِ اقْتُلُوْٓا اَنْفُسَكُمْ اَوِ اخْرُجُوْا مِنْ دِيَارِكُمْ مَّا فَعَلُوْهُ اِلَّا قَلِيْلٌ مِّنْهُمْ ۗوَلَوْ اَنَّهُمْ فَعَلُوْا مَا يُوْعَظُوْنَ بِهٖ لَكَانَ خَيْرًا لَّهُمْ وَاَشَدَّ تَثْبِيْتًاۙ ٦٦
- walaw
- وَلَوْ
- And if
- annā
- أَنَّا
- [that] We
- katabnā
- كَتَبْنَا
- (had) decreed
- ʿalayhim
- عَلَيْهِمْ
- on them
- ani
- أَنِ
- that
- uq'tulū
- ٱقْتُلُوٓا۟
- "Kill
- anfusakum
- أَنفُسَكُمْ
- yourselves"
- awi
- أَوِ
- or
- ukh'rujū
- ٱخْرُجُوا۟
- "Go forth
- min
- مِن
- from
- diyārikum
- دِيَٰرِكُم
- your homes"
- mā
- مَّا
- not
- faʿalūhu
- فَعَلُوهُ
- they would have done it
- illā
- إِلَّا
- except
- qalīlun
- قَلِيلٌ
- a few
- min'hum
- مِّنْهُمْۖ
- of them
- walaw
- وَلَوْ
- But if
- annahum
- أَنَّهُمْ
- [that] they
- faʿalū
- فَعَلُوا۟
- had done
- mā
- مَا
- what
- yūʿaẓūna
- يُوعَظُونَ
- they were advised
- bihi
- بِهِۦ
- with [it]
- lakāna
- لَكَانَ
- surely (it) would have been
- khayran
- خَيْرًا
- better
- lahum
- لَّهُمْ
- for them
- wa-ashadda
- وَأَشَدَّ
- and stronger
- tathbītan
- تَثْبِيتًا
- strengthen(ing)
And if We had decreed upon them, "Kill yourselves" or "Leave your homes," they would not have done it, except for a few of them. But if they had done what they were instructed, it would have been better for them and a firmer position [for them in faith]. (QS. [4] An-Nisa: 66)Tafsir
وَّاِذًا لَّاٰ تَيْنٰهُمْ مِّنْ لَّدُنَّآ اَجْرًا عَظِيْمًاۙ ٦٧
- wa-idhan
- وَإِذًا
- And then
- laātaynāhum
- لَّءَاتَيْنَٰهُم
- We would (have) given them
- min
- مِّن
- from
- ladunnā
- لَّدُنَّآ
- Ourselves
- ajran
- أَجْرًا
- a reward
- ʿaẓīman
- عَظِيمًا
- great
And then We would have given them from Us a great reward. (QS. [4] An-Nisa: 67)Tafsir
وَّلَهَدَيْنٰهُمْ صِرَاطًا مُّسْتَقِيْمًا ٦٨
- walahadaynāhum
- وَلَهَدَيْنَٰهُمْ
- And We would have guided them
- ṣirāṭan
- صِرَٰطًا
- (to the) way
- mus'taqīman
- مُّسْتَقِيمًا
- (the) straight
And We would have guided them to a straight path. (QS. [4] An-Nisa: 68)Tafsir
وَمَنْ يُّطِعِ اللّٰهَ وَالرَّسُوْلَ فَاُولٰۤىِٕكَ مَعَ الَّذِيْنَ اَنْعَمَ اللّٰهُ عَلَيْهِمْ مِّنَ النَّبِيّٖنَ وَالصِّدِّيْقِيْنَ وَالشُّهَدَاۤءِ وَالصّٰلِحِيْنَ ۚ وَحَسُنَ اُولٰۤىِٕكَ رَفِيْقًا ٦٩
- waman
- وَمَن
- And whoever
- yuṭiʿi
- يُطِعِ
- obeys
- l-laha
- ٱللَّهَ
- Allah
- wal-rasūla
- وَٱلرَّسُولَ
- and the Messenger
- fa-ulāika
- فَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ
- then those
- maʿa
- مَعَ
- (will be) with
- alladhīna
- ٱلَّذِينَ
- those whom
- anʿama
- أَنْعَمَ
- has bestowed (His) Favor
- l-lahu
- ٱللَّهُ
- Allah
- ʿalayhim
- عَلَيْهِم
- upon them
- mina
- مِّنَ
- of
- l-nabiyīna
- ٱلنَّبِيِّۦنَ
- the Prophets
- wal-ṣidīqīna
- وَٱلصِّدِّيقِينَ
- and the truthful
- wal-shuhadāi
- وَٱلشُّهَدَآءِ
- and the martyrs
- wal-ṣāliḥīna
- وَٱلصَّٰلِحِينَۚ
- and the righteous
- waḥasuna
- وَحَسُنَ
- And excellent
- ulāika
- أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ
- (are) those
- rafīqan
- رَفِيقًا
- companion(s)
And whoever obeys Allah and the Messenger – those will be with the ones upon whom Allah has bestowed favor of the prophets, the steadfast affirmers of truth, the martyrs and the righteous. And excellent are those as companions. (QS. [4] An-Nisa: 69)Tafsir
ذٰلِكَ الْفَضْلُ مِنَ اللّٰهِ ۗوَكَفٰى بِاللّٰهِ عَلِيْمًا ࣖ ٧٠
- dhālika
- ذَٰلِكَ
- That
- l-faḍlu
- ٱلْفَضْلُ
- (is) the Bounty
- mina
- مِنَ
- of
- l-lahi
- ٱللَّهِۚ
- Allah
- wakafā
- وَكَفَىٰ
- and sufficient
- bil-lahi
- بِٱللَّهِ
- Allah
- ʿalīman
- عَلِيمًا
- (as) All-Knower
That is the bounty from Allah, and sufficient is Allah as Knower. (QS. [4] An-Nisa: 70)Tafsir
