(The Mount)

21

وَالَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْا وَاتَّبَعَتْهُمْ ذُرِّيَّتُهُمْ بِاِيْمَانٍ اَلْحَقْنَا بِهِمْ ذُرِّيَّتَهُمْ وَمَآ اَلَتْنٰهُمْ مِّنْ عَمَلِهِمْ مِّنْ شَيْءٍۚ كُلُّ امْرِئٍ ۢبِمَا كَسَبَ رَهِيْنٌ ٢١

wa-alladhīna
وَٱلَّذِينَ
And those who
āmanū
ءَامَنُوا۟
believed
wa-ittabaʿathum
وَٱتَّبَعَتْهُمْ
and followed them
dhurriyyatuhum
ذُرِّيَّتُهُم
their offspring
biīmānin
بِإِيمَٰنٍ
in faith
alḥaqnā
أَلْحَقْنَا
We will join
bihim
بِهِمْ
with them
dhurriyyatahum
ذُرِّيَّتَهُمْ
their offspring
wamā
وَمَآ
and not
alatnāhum
أَلَتْنَٰهُم
We will deprive them
min
مِّنْ
of
ʿamalihim
عَمَلِهِم
their deeds
min
مِّن
(in) any
shayin
شَىْءٍۚ
thing
kullu
كُلُّ
Every
im'ri-in
ٱمْرِئٍۭ
person
bimā
بِمَا
for what
kasaba
كَسَبَ
he earned
rahīnun
رَهِينٌ
(is) pledged
And those who believed and whose descendants followed them in faith – We will join with them their descendants, and We will not deprive them of anything of their deeds. Every person, for what he earned, is retained. (QS. [52] At-Tur: 21)
Tafsir
22

وَاَمْدَدْنٰهُمْ بِفَاكِهَةٍ وَّلَحْمٍ مِّمَّا يَشْتَهُوْنَ ٢٢

wa-amdadnāhum
وَأَمْدَدْنَٰهُم
And We will provide them
bifākihatin
بِفَٰكِهَةٍ
with fruit
walaḥmin
وَلَحْمٍ
and meat
mimmā
مِّمَّا
from what
yashtahūna
يَشْتَهُونَ
they desire
And We will provide them with fruit and meat from whatever they desire. (QS. [52] At-Tur: 22)
Tafsir
23

يَتَنَازَعُوْنَ فِيْهَا كَأْسًا لَّا لَغْوٌ فِيْهَا وَلَا تَأْثِيْمٌ ٢٣

yatanāzaʿūna
يَتَنَٰزَعُونَ
They will pass to one another
fīhā
فِيهَا
therein
kasan
كَأْسًا
a cup
لَّا
no
laghwun
لَغْوٌ
ill speech
fīhā
فِيهَا
therein
walā
وَلَا
and no
tathīmun
تَأْثِيمٌ
sin
They will exchange with one another a cup [of wine] wherein [results] no ill speech or commission of sin. (QS. [52] At-Tur: 23)
Tafsir
24

وَيَطُوْفُ عَلَيْهِمْ غِلْمَانٌ لَّهُمْ كَاَنَّهُمْ لُؤْلُؤٌ مَّكْنُوْنٌۚ ٢٤

wayaṭūfu
وَيَطُوفُ
And will circulate
ʿalayhim
عَلَيْهِمْ
among them
ghil'mānun
غِلْمَانٌ
boys
lahum
لَّهُمْ
for them
ka-annahum
كَأَنَّهُمْ
as if they (were)
lu'lu-on
لُؤْلُؤٌ
pearls
maknūnun
مَّكْنُونٌ
well-protected
There will circulate among them [servant] boys [especially] for them, as if they were pearls well-protected. (QS. [52] At-Tur: 24)
Tafsir
25

وَاَقْبَلَ بَعْضُهُمْ عَلٰى بَعْضٍ يَّتَسَاۤءَلُوْنَ ٢٥

wa-aqbala
وَأَقْبَلَ
And will approach
baʿḍuhum
بَعْضُهُمْ
some of them
ʿalā
عَلَىٰ
to
baʿḍin
بَعْضٍ
others
yatasāalūna
يَتَسَآءَلُونَ
inquiring
And they will approach one another, inquiring of each other. (QS. [52] At-Tur: 25)
Tafsir
26

قَالُوْٓا اِنَّا كُنَّا قَبْلُ فِيْٓ اَهْلِنَا مُشْفِقِيْنَ ٢٦

qālū
قَالُوٓا۟
They will say
innā
إِنَّا
"Indeed we
kunnā
كُنَّا
[we] were
qablu
قَبْلُ
before
فِىٓ
among
ahlinā
أَهْلِنَا
our families
mush'fiqīna
مُشْفِقِينَ
fearful
They will say, "Indeed, we were previously among our people fearful [of displeasing Allah]. (QS. [52] At-Tur: 26)
Tafsir
27

فَمَنَّ اللّٰهُ عَلَيْنَا وَوَقٰىنَا عَذَابَ السَّمُوْمِ ٢٧

famanna
فَمَنَّ
But Allah conferred favor
l-lahu
ٱللَّهُ
But Allah conferred favor
ʿalaynā
عَلَيْنَا
upon us
wawaqānā
وَوَقَىٰنَا
and protected us
ʿadhāba
عَذَابَ
(from the) punishment
l-samūmi
ٱلسَّمُومِ
(of) the Scorching Fire
So Allah conferred favor upon us and protected us from the punishment of the Scorching Fire. (QS. [52] At-Tur: 27)
Tafsir
28

اِنَّا كُنَّا مِنْ قَبْلُ نَدْعُوْهُۗ اِنَّهٗ هُوَ الْبَرُّ الرَّحِيْمُ ٢٨

innā
إِنَّا
Indeed, we
kunnā
كُنَّا
[we] used (to)
min
مِن
before
qablu
قَبْلُ
before
nadʿūhu
نَدْعُوهُۖ
call Him
innahu
إِنَّهُۥ
Indeed, He
huwa
هُوَ
[He]
l-baru
ٱلْبَرُّ
(is) the Most Kind
l-raḥīmu
ٱلرَّحِيمُ
the Most Merciful"
Indeed, we used to supplicate Him before. Indeed, it is He who is the Beneficent, the Merciful." (QS. [52] At-Tur: 28)
Tafsir
29

فَذَكِّرْ فَمَآ اَنْتَ بِنِعْمَتِ رَبِّكَ بِكَاهِنٍ وَّلَا مَجْنُوْنٍۗ ٢٩

fadhakkir
فَذَكِّرْ
Therefore remind
famā
فَمَآ
for not
anta
أَنتَ
you
biniʿ'mati
بِنِعْمَتِ
(are) by (the) grace
rabbika
رَبِّكَ
(of) your Lord
bikāhinin
بِكَاهِنٍ
a soothsayer
walā
وَلَا
and not
majnūnin
مَجْنُونٍ
a madman
So remind, [O Muhammad], for you are not, by the favor of your Lord, a soothsayer or a madman. (QS. [52] At-Tur: 29)
Tafsir
30

اَمْ يَقُوْلُوْنَ شَاعِرٌ نَّتَرَبَّصُ بِهٖ رَيْبَ الْمَنُوْنِ ٣٠

am
أَمْ
Or
yaqūlūna
يَقُولُونَ
(do) they say
shāʿirun
شَاعِرٌ
"A poet
natarabbaṣu
نَّتَرَبَّصُ
we wait
bihi
بِهِۦ
for him
rayba
رَيْبَ
a misfortune of time"
l-manūni
ٱلْمَنُونِ
a misfortune of time"
Or do they say [of you], "A poet for whom we await a misfortune of time"? (QS. [52] At-Tur: 30)
