فَكَيْفَ اِذَا جِئْنَا مِنْ كُلِّ اُمَّةٍۢ بِشَهِيْدٍ وَّجِئْنَا بِكَ عَلٰى هٰٓؤُلَاۤءِ شَهِيْدًاۗ ٤١
- fakayfa
- فَكَيْفَ
- So how (will it be)
- idhā
- إِذَا
- when
- ji'nā
- جِئْنَا
- We bring
- min
- مِن
- from
- kulli
- كُلِّ
- every
- ummatin
- أُمَّةٍۭ
- nation
- bishahīdin
- بِشَهِيدٍ
- a witness
- waji'nā
- وَجِئْنَا
- and We bring
- bika
- بِكَ
- you
- ʿalā
- عَلَىٰ
- against
- hāulāi
- هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ
- these (people)
- shahīdan
- شَهِيدًا
- (as) a witness
So how [will it be] when We bring from every nation a witness and We bring you, [O Muhammad], against these [people] as a witness? (QS. [4] An-Nisa: 41)Tafsir
يَوْمَىِٕذٍ يَّوَدُّ الَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوْا وَعَصَوُا الرَّسُوْلَ لَوْ تُسَوّٰى بِهِمُ الْاَرْضُۗ وَلَا يَكْتُمُوْنَ اللّٰهَ حَدِيْثًا ࣖ ٤٢
- yawma-idhin
- يَوْمَئِذٍ
- (On) that Day
- yawaddu
- يَوَدُّ
- will wish
- alladhīna
- ٱلَّذِينَ
- those who
- kafarū
- كَفَرُوا۟
- disbelieved
- waʿaṣawū
- وَعَصَوُا۟
- and disobeyed
- l-rasūla
- ٱلرَّسُولَ
- the Messenger
- law
- لَوْ
- if
- tusawwā
- تُسَوَّىٰ
- was leveled
- bihimu
- بِهِمُ
- with them
- l-arḍu
- ٱلْأَرْضُ
- the earth
- walā
- وَلَا
- and not
- yaktumūna
- يَكْتُمُونَ
- they will (be able to) hide
- l-laha
- ٱللَّهَ
- (from) Allah
- ḥadīthan
- حَدِيثًا
- (any) statement
That Day, those who disbelieved and disobeyed the Messenger will wish they could be covered by the earth. And they will not conceal from Allah a [single] statement. (QS. [4] An-Nisa: 42)Tafsir
يٰٓاَيُّهَا الَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْا لَا تَقْرَبُوا الصَّلٰوةَ وَاَنْتُمْ سُكَارٰى حَتّٰى تَعْلَمُوْا مَا تَقُوْلُوْنَ وَلَا جُنُبًا اِلَّا عَابِرِيْ سَبِيْلٍ حَتّٰى تَغْتَسِلُوْا ۗوَاِنْ كُنْتُمْ مَّرْضٰٓى اَوْ عَلٰى سَفَرٍ اَوْ جَاۤءَ اَحَدٌ مِّنْكُمْ مِّنَ الْغَاۤىِٕطِ اَوْ لٰمَسْتُمُ النِّسَاۤءَ فَلَمْ تَجِدُوْا مَاۤءً فَتَيَمَّمُوْا صَعِيْدًا طَيِّبًا فَامْسَحُوْا بِوُجُوْهِكُمْ وَاَيْدِيْكُمْ ۗ اِنَّ اللّٰهَ كَانَ عَفُوًّا غَفُوْرًا ٤٣
- yāayyuhā
- يَٰٓأَيُّهَا
- O you
- alladhīna
- ٱلَّذِينَ
- who
- āmanū
- ءَامَنُوا۟
- believe[d]!
- lā
- لَا
- (Do) not
- taqrabū
- تَقْرَبُوا۟
- go near
- l-ṣalata
- ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ
- the prayer
- wa-antum
- وَأَنتُمْ
- while you
- sukārā
- سُكَٰرَىٰ
- (are) intoxicated
- ḥattā
- حَتَّىٰ
- until
- taʿlamū
- تَعْلَمُوا۟
- you know
- mā
- مَا
- what
- taqūlūna
- تَقُولُونَ
- you are saying
- walā
- وَلَا
- and not
- junuban
- جُنُبًا
- (when you are) impure
- illā
- إِلَّا
- except
- ʿābirī
- عَابِرِى
- (when) passing
- sabīlin
- سَبِيلٍ
- (through) a way
- ḥattā
- حَتَّىٰ
- until
- taghtasilū
- تَغْتَسِلُوا۟ۚ
- you have bathed
- wa-in
- وَإِن
- And if
- kuntum
- كُنتُم
- you are
- marḍā
- مَّرْضَىٰٓ
- ill
- aw
- أَوْ
- or
- ʿalā
- عَلَىٰ
- on
- safarin
- سَفَرٍ
- a journey
- aw
- أَوْ
- or
- jāa
- جَآءَ
- came
- aḥadun
- أَحَدٌ
- one
- minkum
- مِّنكُم
- of you
- mina
- مِّنَ
- from
- l-ghāiṭi
- ٱلْغَآئِطِ
- the toilet
- aw
- أَوْ
- or
- lāmastumu
- لَٰمَسْتُمُ
- you have touched
- l-nisāa
- ٱلنِّسَآءَ
- the women
- falam
- فَلَمْ
- and not
- tajidū
- تَجِدُوا۟
- you find
- māan
- مَآءً
- water
- fatayammamū
- فَتَيَمَّمُوا۟
- then do tayammum
- ṣaʿīdan
- صَعِيدًا
- (with) earth
- ṭayyiban
- طَيِّبًا
- clean
- fa-im'saḥū
- فَٱمْسَحُوا۟
- and wipe (with it)
- biwujūhikum
- بِوُجُوهِكُمْ
- your faces
- wa-aydīkum
- وَأَيْدِيكُمْۗ
- and your hands
- inna
- إِنَّ
- Indeed
- l-laha
- ٱللَّهَ
- Allah
- kāna
- كَانَ
- is
- ʿafuwwan
- عَفُوًّا
- Oft-Pardoning
- ghafūran
- غَفُورًا
- Oft-Forgiving
O you who have believed, do not approach prayer while you are intoxicated until you know what you are saying or in a state of janabah, except those passing through [a place of prayer], until you have washed [your whole body]. And if you are ill or on a journey or one of you comes from the place of relieving himself or you have contacted women [i.e., had sexual intercourse] and find no water, then seek clean earth and wipe over your faces and your hands [with it]. Indeed, Allah is ever Pardoning and Forgiving. (QS. [4] An-Nisa: 43)Tafsir
اَلَمْ تَرَ اِلَى الَّذِيْنَ اُوْتُوْا نَصِيْبًا مِّنَ الْكِتٰبِ يَشْتَرُوْنَ الضَّلٰلَةَ وَيُرِيْدُوْنَ اَنْ تَضِلُّوا السَّبِيْلَۗ ٤٤
- alam
- أَلَمْ
- Did not
- tara
- تَرَ
- you see
- ilā
- إِلَى
- [towards]
- alladhīna
- ٱلَّذِينَ
- those who
- ūtū
- أُوتُوا۟
- were given
- naṣīban
- نَصِيبًا
- a portion
- mina
- مِّنَ
- of
- l-kitābi
- ٱلْكِتَٰبِ
- the Book
- yashtarūna
- يَشْتَرُونَ
- purchasing
- l-ḍalālata
- ٱلضَّلَٰلَةَ
- [the] error
- wayurīdūna
- وَيُرِيدُونَ
- and wishing
- an
- أَن
- that
- taḍillū
- تَضِلُّوا۟
- you stray
- l-sabīla
- ٱلسَّبِيلَ
- (from) the way?
Have you not seen those who were given a portion of the Scripture, purchasing error [in exchange for it] and wishing you would lose the way? (QS. [4] An-Nisa: 44)Tafsir
وَاللّٰهُ اَعْلَمُ بِاَعْدَاۤىِٕكُمْ ۗوَكَفٰى بِاللّٰهِ وَلِيًّا ۙوَّكَفٰى بِاللّٰهِ نَصِيْرًا ٤٥
- wal-lahu
- وَٱللَّهُ
- And Allah
- aʿlamu
- أَعْلَمُ
- knows better
- bi-aʿdāikum
- بِأَعْدَآئِكُمْۚ
- about your enemies
- wakafā
- وَكَفَىٰ
- and (is) sufficient
- bil-lahi
- بِٱللَّهِ
- Allah
- waliyyan
- وَلِيًّا
- (as) a Protector
- wakafā
- وَكَفَىٰ
- and sufficient
- bil-lahi
- بِٱللَّهِ
- (is) Allah
- naṣīran
- نَصِيرًا
- (as) a Helper
And Allah is most knowing of your enemies; and sufficient is Allah as an ally, and sufficient is Allah as a helper. (QS. [4] An-Nisa: 45)Tafsir
مِنَ الَّذِيْنَ هَادُوْا يُحَرِّفُوْنَ الْكَلِمَ عَنْ مَّوَاضِعِهٖ وَيَقُوْلُوْنَ سَمِعْنَا وَعَصَيْنَا وَاسْمَعْ غَيْرَ مُسْمَعٍ وَّرَاعِنَا لَيًّاۢ بِاَلْسِنَتِهِمْ وَطَعْنًا فِى الدِّيْنِۗ وَلَوْ اَنَّهُمْ قَالُوْا سَمِعْنَا وَاَطَعْنَا وَاسْمَعْ وَانْظُرْنَا لَكَانَ خَيْرًا لَّهُمْ وَاَقْوَمَۙ وَلٰكِنْ لَّعَنَهُمُ اللّٰهُ بِكُفْرِهِمْ فَلَا يُؤْمِنُوْنَ اِلَّا قَلِيْلًا ٤٦

- Of
- alladhīna
- ٱلَّذِينَ
- those who
- hādū
- هَادُوا۟
- are Jews
- yuḥarrifūna
- يُحَرِّفُونَ
- they distort
- l-kalima
- ٱلْكَلِمَ
- the words
- ʿan
- عَن
- from
- mawāḍiʿihi
- مَّوَاضِعِهِۦ
- their places
- wayaqūlūna
- وَيَقُولُونَ
- and they say
- samiʿ'nā
- سَمِعْنَا
- "We hear[d]
- waʿaṣaynā
- وَعَصَيْنَا
- and we disobey[ed]"
- wa-is'maʿ
- وَٱسْمَعْ
- and Hear
- ghayra
- غَيْرَ
- not
- mus'maʿin
- مُسْمَعٍ
- to be heard
- warāʿinā
- وَرَٰعِنَا
- and Raina"
- layyan
- لَيًّۢا
- twisting
- bi-alsinatihim
- بِأَلْسِنَتِهِمْ
- [with] their tongues
- waṭaʿnan
- وَطَعْنًا
- and defaming
- fī
- فِى
- [in]
- l-dīni
- ٱلدِّينِۚ
- the religion
- walaw
- وَلَوْ
- And if
- annahum
- أَنَّهُمْ
- [that] they
- qālū
- قَالُوا۟
- (had) said
- samiʿ'nā
- سَمِعْنَا
- "We hear[d]
- wa-aṭaʿnā
- وَأَطَعْنَا
- and we obey[ed]"
- wa-is'maʿ
- وَٱسْمَعْ
- and Hear
- wa-unẓur'nā
- وَٱنظُرْنَا
- and look (at) us
- lakāna
- لَكَانَ
- surely it (would) have been
- khayran
- خَيْرًا
- better
- lahum
- لَّهُمْ
- for them
- wa-aqwama
- وَأَقْوَمَ
- and more suitable
- walākin
- وَلَٰكِن
- [And] but
- laʿanahumu
- لَّعَنَهُمُ
- cursed them
- l-lahu
- ٱللَّهُ
- Allah
- bikuf'rihim
- بِكُفْرِهِمْ
- for their disbelief
- falā
- فَلَا
- so not
- yu'minūna
- يُؤْمِنُونَ
- they believe
- illā
- إِلَّا
- except
- qalīlan
- قَلِيلًا
- a few
Among the Jews are those who distort words from their [proper] places [i.e., usages] and say, "We hear and disobey" and "Hear but be not heard" and "Ra’ina," twisting their tongues and defaming the religion. And if they had said [instead], "We hear and obey" and "Wait for us [to understand]," it would have been better for them and more suitable. But Allah has cursed them for their disbelief, so they believe not, except for a few. (QS. [4] An-Nisa: 46)Tafsir
يٰٓاَيُّهَا الَّذِيْنَ اُوْتُوا الْكِتٰبَ اٰمِنُوْا بِمَا نَزَّلْنَا مُصَدِّقًا لِّمَا مَعَكُمْ مِّنْ قَبْلِ اَنْ نَّطْمِسَ وُجُوْهًا فَنَرُدَّهَا عَلٰٓى اَدْبَارِهَآ اَوْ نَلْعَنَهُمْ كَمَا لَعَنَّآ اَصْحٰبَ السَّبْتِ ۗ وَكَانَ اَمْرُ اللّٰهِ مَفْعُوْلًا ٤٧
- yāayyuhā
- يَٰٓأَيُّهَا
- O you
- alladhīna
- ٱلَّذِينَ
- who
- ūtū
- أُوتُوا۟
- (have) been given
- l-kitāba
- ٱلْكِتَٰبَ
- the Book
- āminū
- ءَامِنُوا۟
- believe
- bimā
- بِمَا
- in what
- nazzalnā
- نَزَّلْنَا
- We (have) revealed
- muṣaddiqan
- مُصَدِّقًا
- confirming
- limā
- لِّمَا
- what is
- maʿakum
- مَعَكُم
- with you
- min
- مِّن
- from
- qabli
- قَبْلِ
- before
- an
- أَن
- [that]
- naṭmisa
- نَّطْمِسَ
- We efface
- wujūhan
- وُجُوهًا
- faces
- fanaruddahā
- فَنَرُدَّهَا
- and turn them
- ʿalā
- عَلَىٰٓ
- on
- adbārihā
- أَدْبَارِهَآ
- their backs
- aw
- أَوْ
- or
- nalʿanahum
- نَلْعَنَهُمْ
- We curse them
- kamā
- كَمَا
- as
- laʿannā
- لَعَنَّآ
- We cursed
- aṣḥāba
- أَصْحَٰبَ
- companions
- l-sabti
- ٱلسَّبْتِۚ
- (of) the Sabbath
- wakāna
- وَكَانَ
- And is
- amru
- أَمْرُ
- (the) command
- l-lahi
- ٱللَّهِ
- (of) Allah
- mafʿūlan
- مَفْعُولًا
- (always) executed
O you who were given the Scripture, believe in what We have sent down [to Prophet Muhammad (^)], confirming that which is with you, before We obliterate faces and turn them toward their backs or curse them as We cursed the sabbath-breakers. And ever is the matter [i.e., decree] of Allah accomplished. (QS. [4] An-Nisa: 47)Tafsir
اِنَّ اللّٰهَ لَا يَغْفِرُ اَنْ يُّشْرَكَ بِهٖ وَيَغْفِرُ مَا دُوْنَ ذٰلِكَ لِمَنْ يَّشَاۤءُ ۚ وَمَنْ يُّشْرِكْ بِاللّٰهِ فَقَدِ افْتَرٰٓى اِثْمًا عَظِيْمًا ٤٨
- inna
- إِنَّ
- Indeed
- l-laha
- ٱللَّهَ
- Allah
- lā
- لَا
- (does) not
- yaghfiru
- يَغْفِرُ
- forgive
- an
- أَن
- that
- yush'raka
- يُشْرَكَ
- partners be associated
- bihi
- بِهِۦ
- with Him
- wayaghfiru
- وَيَغْفِرُ
- but He forgives
- mā
- مَا
- from
- dūna
- دُونَ
- other than
- dhālika
- ذَٰلِكَ
- that
- liman
- لِمَن
- for whom
- yashāu
- يَشَآءُۚ
- He wills
- waman
- وَمَن
- And whoever
- yush'rik
- يُشْرِكْ
- associates partners
- bil-lahi
- بِٱللَّهِ
- with Allah
- faqadi
- فَقَدِ
- then surely
- if'tarā
- ٱفْتَرَىٰٓ
- he has fabricated
- ith'man
- إِثْمًا
- a sin
- ʿaẓīman
- عَظِيمًا
- tremendous
Indeed, Allah does not forgive association with Him, but He forgives what is less than that for whom He wills. And he who associates others with Allah has certainly fabricated a tremendous sin. (QS. [4] An-Nisa: 48)Tafsir
اَلَمْ تَرَ اِلَى الَّذِيْنَ يُزَكُّوْنَ اَنْفُسَهُمْ ۗ بَلِ اللّٰهُ يُزَكِّيْ مَنْ يَّشَاۤءُ وَلَا يُظْلَمُوْنَ فَتِيْلًا ٤٩
- alam
- أَلَمْ
- Do not
- tara
- تَرَ
- you see
- ilā
- إِلَى
- [towards]
- alladhīna
- ٱلَّذِينَ
- those who
- yuzakkūna
- يُزَكُّونَ
- claim purity
- anfusahum
- أَنفُسَهُمۚ
- (for) themselves?
- bali
- بَلِ
- Nay
- l-lahu
- ٱللَّهُ
- (it is) Allah
- yuzakkī
- يُزَكِّى
- He purifies
- man
- مَن
- whom
- yashāu
- يَشَآءُ
- He wills
- walā
- وَلَا
- and not
- yuẓ'lamūna
- يُظْلَمُونَ
- they will be wronged
- fatīlan
- فَتِيلًا
- (even as much as) a hair on a date-seed
Have you not seen those who claim themselves to be pure? Rather, Allah purifies whom He wills, and injustice is not done to them, [even] as much as a thread [inside a date seed]. (QS. [4] An-Nisa: 49)Tafsir
اُنْظُرْ كَيْفَ يَفْتَرُوْنَ عَلَى اللّٰهِ الْكَذِبَۗ وَكَفٰى بِهٖٓ اِثْمًا مُّبِيْنًا ࣖ ٥٠
- unẓur
- ٱنظُرْ
- See
- kayfa
- كَيْفَ
- how
- yaftarūna
- يَفْتَرُونَ
- they invent
- ʿalā
- عَلَى
- about
- l-lahi
- ٱللَّهِ
- Allah
- l-kadhiba
- ٱلْكَذِبَۖ
- [the] lie
- wakafā
- وَكَفَىٰ
- and sufficient
- bihi
- بِهِۦٓ
- is it -
- ith'man
- إِثْمًا
- (as) a sin
- mubīnan
- مُّبِينًا
- manifest
Look how they invent about Allah untruth, and sufficient is that as a manifest sin. (QS. [4] An-Nisa: 50)Tafsir
