وَاِذَا ضَرَبْتُمْ فِى الْاَرْضِ فَلَيْسَ عَلَيْكُمْ جُنَاحٌ اَنْ تَقْصُرُوْا مِنَ الصَّلٰوةِ ۖ اِنْ خِفْتُمْ اَنْ يَّفْتِنَكُمُ الَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوْاۗ اِنَّ الْكٰفِرِيْنَ كَانُوْا لَكُمْ عَدُوًّا مُّبِيْنًا ١٠١
- wa-idhā
- وَإِذَا
- And when
- ḍarabtum
- ضَرَبْتُمْ
- you travel
- fī
- فِى
- in
- l-arḍi
- ٱلْأَرْضِ
- the earth
- falaysa
- فَلَيْسَ
- then not
- ʿalaykum
- عَلَيْكُمْ
- upon you
- junāḥun
- جُنَاحٌ
- (is) any blame
- an
- أَن
- that
- taqṣurū
- تَقْصُرُوا۟
- you shorten
- mina
- مِنَ
- [of]
- l-ṣalati
- ٱلصَّلَوٰةِ
- the prayer
- in
- إِنْ
- if
- khif'tum
- خِفْتُمْ
- you fear
- an
- أَن
- that
- yaftinakumu
- يَفْتِنَكُمُ
- (may) harm you
- alladhīna
- ٱلَّذِينَ
- those who
- kafarū
- كَفَرُوٓا۟ۚ
- disbelieved
- inna
- إِنَّ
- Indeed
- l-kāfirīna
- ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ
- the disbelievers
- kānū
- كَانُوا۟
- are
- lakum
- لَكُمْ
- for you
- ʿaduwwan
- عَدُوًّا
- an enemy
- mubīnan
- مُّبِينًا
- open
And when you travel throughout the land, there is no blame upon you for shortening the prayer, [especially] if you fear that those who disbelieve may disrupt [or attack] you. Indeed, the disbelievers are ever to you a clear enemy. (QS. [4] An-Nisa: 101)Tafsir
وَاِذَا كُنْتَ فِيْهِمْ فَاَقَمْتَ لَهُمُ الصَّلٰوةَ فَلْتَقُمْ طَاۤىِٕفَةٌ مِّنْهُمْ مَّعَكَ وَلْيَأْخُذُوْٓا اَسْلِحَتَهُمْ ۗ فَاِذَا سَجَدُوْا فَلْيَكُوْنُوْا مِنْ وَّرَاۤىِٕكُمْۖ وَلْتَأْتِ طَاۤىِٕفَةٌ اُخْرٰى لَمْ يُصَلُّوْا فَلْيُصَلُّوْا مَعَكَ وَلْيَأْخُذُوْا حِذْرَهُمْ وَاَسْلِحَتَهُمْ ۗ وَدَّ الَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوْا لَوْ تَغْفُلُوْنَ عَنْ اَسْلِحَتِكُمْ وَاَمْتِعَتِكُمْ فَيَمِيْلُوْنَ عَلَيْكُمْ مَّيْلَةً وَّاحِدَةً ۗوَلَا جُنَاحَ عَلَيْكُمْ اِنْ كَانَ بِكُمْ اَذًى مِّنْ مَّطَرٍ اَوْ كُنْتُمْ مَّرْضٰٓى اَنْ تَضَعُوْٓا اَسْلِحَتَكُمْ وَخُذُوْا حِذْرَكُمْ ۗ اِنَّ اللّٰهَ اَعَدَّ لِلْكٰفِرِيْنَ عَذَابًا مُّهِيْنًا ١٠٢
- wa-idhā
- وَإِذَا
- And when
- kunta
- كُنتَ
- you are
- fīhim
- فِيهِمْ
- among them
- fa-aqamta
- فَأَقَمْتَ
- and you lead
- lahumu
- لَهُمُ
- for them
- l-ṣalata
- ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ
- the prayer
- faltaqum
- فَلْتَقُمْ
- then let stand
- ṭāifatun
- طَآئِفَةٌ
- a group
- min'hum
- مِّنْهُم
- of them
- maʿaka
- مَّعَكَ
- with you
- walyakhudhū
- وَلْيَأْخُذُوٓا۟
- and let them take
- asliḥatahum
- أَسْلِحَتَهُمْ
- their arms
- fa-idhā
- فَإِذَا
- Then when
- sajadū
- سَجَدُوا۟
- they have prostrated
- falyakūnū
- فَلْيَكُونُوا۟
- then let them be
- min
- مِن
- from
- warāikum
- وَرَآئِكُمْ
- behind you
- waltati
- وَلْتَأْتِ
- and let come (forward)
- ṭāifatun
- طَآئِفَةٌ
- a group
- ukh'rā
- أُخْرَىٰ
- other
- lam
- لَمْ
- (which has) not
- yuṣallū
- يُصَلُّوا۟
- prayed
- falyuṣallū
- فَلْيُصَلُّوا۟
- and let them pray
- maʿaka
- مَعَكَ
- with you
- walyakhudhū
- وَلْيَأْخُذُوا۟
- and let them take
- ḥidh'rahum
- حِذْرَهُمْ
- their precautions
- wa-asliḥatahum
- وَأَسْلِحَتَهُمْۗ
- and their arms
- wadda
- وَدَّ
- Wished
- alladhīna
- ٱلَّذِينَ
- those who
- kafarū
- كَفَرُوا۟
- disbelieved
- law
- لَوْ
- if
- taghfulūna
- تَغْفُلُونَ
- you neglect
- ʿan
- عَنْ
- [about]
- asliḥatikum
- أَسْلِحَتِكُمْ
- your arms
- wa-amtiʿatikum
- وَأَمْتِعَتِكُمْ
- and your baggage
- fayamīlūna
- فَيَمِيلُونَ
- so (that) they (can) assault
- ʿalaykum
- عَلَيْكُم
- [upon] you
- maylatan
- مَّيْلَةً
- (in) an attack
- wāḥidatan
- وَٰحِدَةًۚ
- single
- walā
- وَلَا
- But (there is) no
- junāḥa
- جُنَاحَ
- blame
- ʿalaykum
- عَلَيْكُمْ
- upon you
- in
- إِن
- if
- kāna
- كَانَ
- was
- bikum
- بِكُمْ
- with you
- adhan
- أَذًى
- any trouble
- min
- مِّن
- (because) of
- maṭarin
- مَّطَرٍ
- rain
- aw
- أَوْ
- or
- kuntum
- كُنتُم
- you are
- marḍā
- مَّرْضَىٰٓ
- sick
- an
- أَن
- that
- taḍaʿū
- تَضَعُوٓا۟
- you lay down
- asliḥatakum
- أَسْلِحَتَكُمْۖ
- your arms
- wakhudhū
- وَخُذُوا۟
- but take
- ḥidh'rakum
- حِذْرَكُمْۗ
- your precautions
- inna
- إِنَّ
- Indeed
- l-laha
- ٱللَّهَ
- Allah
- aʿadda
- أَعَدَّ
- has prepared
- lil'kāfirīna
- لِلْكَٰفِرِينَ
- for the disbelievers
- ʿadhāban
- عَذَابًا
- a punishment
- muhīnan
- مُّهِينًا
- humiliating
And when you [i.e., the commander of an army] are among them and lead them in prayer, let a group of them stand [in prayer] with you and let them carry their arms. And when they have prostrated, let them be [in position] behind you and have the other group come forward which has not [yet] prayed and let them pray with you, taking precaution and carrying their arms. Those who disbelieve wish that you would neglect your weapons and your baggage so they could come down upon you in one [single] attack. But there is no blame upon you, if you are troubled by rain or are ill, for putting down your arms, but take precaution. Indeed, Allah has prepared for the disbelievers a humiliating punishment. (QS. [4] An-Nisa: 102)Tafsir
فَاِذَا قَضَيْتُمُ الصَّلٰوةَ فَاذْكُرُوا اللّٰهَ قِيَامًا وَّقُعُوْدًا وَّعَلٰى جُنُوْبِكُمْ ۚ فَاِذَا اطْمَأْنَنْتُمْ فَاَقِيْمُوا الصَّلٰوةَ ۚ اِنَّ الصَّلٰوةَ كَانَتْ عَلَى الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ كِتٰبًا مَّوْقُوْتًا ١٠٣
- fa-idhā
- فَإِذَا
- Then when
- qaḍaytumu
- قَضَيْتُمُ
- you (have) finished
- l-ṣalata
- ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ
- the prayer
- fa-udh'kurū
- فَٱذْكُرُوا۟
- then remember
- l-laha
- ٱللَّهَ
- Allah
- qiyāman
- قِيَٰمًا
- standing
- waquʿūdan
- وَقُعُودًا
- and sitting
- waʿalā
- وَعَلَىٰ
- and (lying) on
- junūbikum
- جُنُوبِكُمْۚ
- your sides
- fa-idhā
- فَإِذَا
- But when
- iṭ'manantum
- ٱطْمَأْنَنتُمْ
- you are secure
- fa-aqīmū
- فَأَقِيمُوا۟
- then establish
- l-ṣalata
- ٱلصَّلَوٰةَۚ
- the (regular) prayer
- inna
- إِنَّ
- Indeed
- l-ṣalata
- ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ
- the prayer
- kānat
- كَانَتْ
- is
- ʿalā
- عَلَى
- on
- l-mu'minīna
- ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
- the believers
- kitāban
- كِتَٰبًا
- prescribed
- mawqūtan
- مَّوْقُوتًا
- (at) fixed times
And when you have completed the prayer, remember Allah standing, sitting, or [lying] on your sides. But when you become secure, re-establish [regular] prayer. Indeed, prayer has been decreed upon the believers a decree of specified times. (QS. [4] An-Nisa: 103)Tafsir
وَلَا تَهِنُوْا فِى ابْتِغَاۤءِ الْقَوْمِ ۗ اِنْ تَكُوْنُوْا تَأْلَمُوْنَ فَاِنَّهُمْ يَأْلَمُوْنَ كَمَا تَأْلَمُوْنَ ۚوَتَرْجُوْنَ مِنَ اللّٰهِ مَا لَا يَرْجُوْنَ ۗوَكَانَ اللّٰهُ عَلِيْمًا حَكِيْمًا ࣖ ١٠٤
- walā
- وَلَا
- And (do) not
- tahinū
- تَهِنُوا۟
- be weak
- fī
- فِى
- in
- ib'tighāi
- ٱبْتِغَآءِ
- pursuit
- l-qawmi
- ٱلْقَوْمِۖ
- (of) the people
- in
- إِن
- If
- takūnū
- تَكُونُوا۟
- you are
- talamūna
- تَأْلَمُونَ
- suffering
- fa-innahum
- فَإِنَّهُمْ
- then indeed, they
- yalamūna
- يَأْلَمُونَ
- are (also) suffering
- kamā
- كَمَا
- like what
- talamūna
- تَأْلَمُونَۖ
- you are suffering
- watarjūna
- وَتَرْجُونَ
- while you (have) hope
- mina
- مِنَ
- from
- l-lahi
- ٱللَّهِ
- Allah
- mā
- مَا
- what
- lā
- لَا
- not
- yarjūna
- يَرْجُونَۗ
- they hope
- wakāna
- وَكَانَ
- And is
- l-lahu
- ٱللَّهُ
- Allah
- ʿalīman
- عَلِيمًا
- All-Knowing
- ḥakīman
- حَكِيمًا
- All-Wise
And do not weaken in pursuit of the enemy. If you should be suffering – so are they suffering as you are suffering, but you expect from Allah that which they expect not. And Allah is ever Knowing and Wise. (QS. [4] An-Nisa: 104)Tafsir
اِنَّآ اَنْزَلْنَآ اِلَيْكَ الْكِتٰبَ بِالْحَقِّ لِتَحْكُمَ بَيْنَ النَّاسِ بِمَآ اَرٰىكَ اللّٰهُ ۗوَلَا تَكُنْ لِّلْخَاۤىِٕنِيْنَ خَصِيْمًا ۙ ١٠٥
- innā
- إِنَّآ
- Indeed
- anzalnā
- أَنزَلْنَآ
- We (have) sent down
- ilayka
- إِلَيْكَ
- to you
- l-kitāba
- ٱلْكِتَٰبَ
- the Book
- bil-ḥaqi
- بِٱلْحَقِّ
- with the truth
- litaḥkuma
- لِتَحْكُمَ
- so that you may judge
- bayna
- بَيْنَ
- between
- l-nāsi
- ٱلنَّاسِ
- the people
- bimā
- بِمَآ
- with what
- arāka
- أَرَىٰكَ
- has shown you
- l-lahu
- ٱللَّهُۚ
- Allah
- walā
- وَلَا
- And (do) not
- takun
- تَكُن
- be
- lil'khāinīna
- لِّلْخَآئِنِينَ
- for the deceitful
- khaṣīman
- خَصِيمًا
- a pleader
Indeed, We have revealed to you, [O Muhammad], the Book in truth so you may judge between the people by that which Allah has shown you. And do not be for the deceitful an advocate. (QS. [4] An-Nisa: 105)Tafsir
وَّاسْتَغْفِرِ اللّٰهَ ۗاِنَّ اللّٰهَ كَانَ غَفُوْرًا رَّحِيْمًاۚ ١٠٦
- wa-is'taghfiri
- وَٱسْتَغْفِرِ
- And seek forgiveness
- l-laha
- ٱللَّهَۖ
- (of) Allah
- inna
- إِنَّ
- Indeed
- l-laha
- ٱللَّهَ
- Allah
- kāna
- كَانَ
- is
- ghafūran
- غَفُورًا
- Oft-Forgiving
- raḥīman
- رَّحِيمًا
- Most Merciful
And seek forgiveness of Allah. Indeed, Allah is ever Forgiving and Merciful. (QS. [4] An-Nisa: 106)Tafsir
وَلَا تُجَادِلْ عَنِ الَّذِيْنَ يَخْتَانُوْنَ اَنْفُسَهُمْ ۗ اِنَّ اللّٰهَ لَا يُحِبُّ مَنْ كَانَ خَوَّانًا اَثِيْمًاۙ ١٠٧
- walā
- وَلَا
- And (do) not
- tujādil
- تُجَٰدِلْ
- argue
- ʿani
- عَنِ
- for
- alladhīna
- ٱلَّذِينَ
- those who
- yakhtānūna
- يَخْتَانُونَ
- deceive
- anfusahum
- أَنفُسَهُمْۚ
- themselves
- inna
- إِنَّ
- Indeed
- l-laha
- ٱللَّهَ
- Allah
- lā
- لَا
- (does) not
- yuḥibbu
- يُحِبُّ
- love
- man
- مَن
- (the one) who
- kāna
- كَانَ
- is
- khawwānan
- خَوَّانًا
- treacherous
- athīman
- أَثِيمًا
- (and) sinful
And do not argue on behalf of those who deceive themselves. Indeed, Allah loves not one who is a habitually sinful deceiver. (QS. [4] An-Nisa: 107)Tafsir
يَّسْتَخْفُوْنَ مِنَ النَّاسِ وَلَا يَسْتَخْفُوْنَ مِنَ اللّٰهِ وَهُوَ مَعَهُمْ اِذْ يُبَيِّتُوْنَ مَا لَا يَرْضٰى مِنَ الْقَوْلِ ۗ وَكَانَ اللّٰهُ بِمَا يَعْمَلُوْنَ مُحِيْطًا ١٠٨
- yastakhfūna
- يَسْتَخْفُونَ
- They seek to hide
- mina
- مِنَ
- from
- l-nāsi
- ٱلنَّاسِ
- the people
- walā
- وَلَا
- but not
- yastakhfūna
- يَسْتَخْفُونَ
- (can) they hide
- mina
- مِنَ
- from
- l-lahi
- ٱللَّهِ
- Allah
- wahuwa
- وَهُوَ
- and He
- maʿahum
- مَعَهُمْ
- (is) with them
- idh
- إِذْ
- when
- yubayyitūna
- يُبَيِّتُونَ
- they plot by night
- mā
- مَا
- what
- lā
- لَا
- not
- yarḍā
- يَرْضَىٰ
- (does) he approve
- mina
- مِنَ
- of
- l-qawli
- ٱلْقَوْلِۚ
- the word
- wakāna
- وَكَانَ
- And is
- l-lahu
- ٱللَّهُ
- Allah
- bimā
- بِمَا
- of what
- yaʿmalūna
- يَعْمَلُونَ
- they do
- muḥīṭan
- مُحِيطًا
- All-Encompassing
They conceal [their evil intentions and deeds] from the people, but they cannot conceal [them] from Allah, and He is with them [in His knowledge] when they spend the night in such as He does not accept of speech. And ever is Allah, of what they do, encompassing. (QS. [4] An-Nisa: 108)Tafsir
هٰٓاَنْتُمْ هٰٓؤُلَاۤءِ جَادَلْتُمْ عَنْهُمْ فِى الْحَيٰوةِ الدُّنْيَاۗ فَمَنْ يُّجَادِلُ اللّٰهَ عَنْهُمْ يَوْمَ الْقِيٰمَةِ اَمْ مَّنْ يَّكُوْنُ عَلَيْهِمْ وَكِيْلًا ١٠٩
- hāantum
- هَٰٓأَنتُمْ
- Here you are -
- hāulāi
- هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ
- those who
- jādaltum
- جَٰدَلْتُمْ
- [you] argue
- ʿanhum
- عَنْهُمْ
- for them
- fī
- فِى
- in
- l-ḥayati
- ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ
- the life
- l-dun'yā
- ٱلدُّنْيَا
- (of) the world
- faman
- فَمَن
- but who
- yujādilu
- يُجَٰدِلُ
- will argue
- l-laha
- ٱللَّهَ
- (with) Allah
- ʿanhum
- عَنْهُمْ
- for them
- yawma
- يَوْمَ
- (on the) Day
- l-qiyāmati
- ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ
- (of) [the] Resurrection
- am
- أَم
- or
- man
- مَّن
- who
- yakūnu
- يَكُونُ
- will be
- ʿalayhim
- عَلَيْهِمْ
- [over them]
- wakīlan
- وَكِيلًا
- (their) defender
Here you are – those who argue on their behalf in [this] worldly life – but who will argue with Allah for them on the Day of Resurrection, or who will [then] be their representative? (QS. [4] An-Nisa: 109)Tafsir
وَمَنْ يَّعْمَلْ سُوْۤءًا اَوْ يَظْلِمْ نَفْسَهٗ ثُمَّ يَسْتَغْفِرِ اللّٰهَ يَجِدِ اللّٰهَ غَفُوْرًا رَّحِيْمًا ١١٠
- waman
- وَمَن
- And whoever
- yaʿmal
- يَعْمَلْ
- does
- sūan
- سُوٓءًا
- evil
- aw
- أَوْ
- or
- yaẓlim
- يَظْلِمْ
- wrongs
- nafsahu
- نَفْسَهُۥ
- his soul
- thumma
- ثُمَّ
- then
- yastaghfiri
- يَسْتَغْفِرِ
- seeks forgiveness
- l-laha
- ٱللَّهَ
- (of) Allah
- yajidi
- يَجِدِ
- he will find
- l-laha
- ٱللَّهَ
- Allah
- ghafūran
- غَفُورًا
- Oft-Forgiving
- raḥīman
- رَّحِيمًا
- Most Merciful
And whoever does a wrong or wrongs himself but then seeks forgiveness of Allah will find Allah Forgiving and Merciful. (QS. [4] An-Nisa: 110)Tafsir
