اِنَّآ اَنْزَلْنَا عَلَيْكَ الْكِتٰبَ لِلنَّاسِ بِالْحَقِّۚ فَمَنِ اهْتَدٰى فَلِنَفْسِهٖۚ وَمَنْ ضَلَّ فَاِنَّمَا يَضِلُّ عَلَيْهَا ۚوَمَآ اَنْتَ عَلَيْهِمْ بِوَكِيْلٍ ࣖ ٤١
- innā
- إِنَّآ
- Indeed We
- anzalnā
- أَنزَلْنَا
- We revealed
- ʿalayka
- عَلَيْكَ
- to you
- l-kitāba
- ٱلْكِتَٰبَ
- the Book
- lilnnāsi
- لِلنَّاسِ
- for [the] mankind
- bil-ḥaqi
- بِٱلْحَقِّۖ
- in truth
- famani
- فَمَنِ
- So whoever
- ih'tadā
- ٱهْتَدَىٰ
- accepts guidance
- falinafsihi
- فَلِنَفْسِهِۦۖ
- then (it is) for his soul;
- waman
- وَمَن
- and whoever
- ḍalla
- ضَلَّ
- goes astray
- fa-innamā
- فَإِنَّمَا
- then only
- yaḍillu
- يَضِلُّ
- he strays
- ʿalayhā
- عَلَيْهَاۖ
- against his (soul)
- wamā
- وَمَآ
- And not
- anta
- أَنتَ
- you
- ʿalayhim
- عَلَيْهِم
- (are) over them
- biwakīlin
- بِوَكِيلٍ
- a manager
Indeed, We sent down to you the Book for the people in truth. So whoever is guided – it is for [the benefit of] his soul; and whoever goes astray only goes astray to its detriment. And you are not a manager [i.e., authority] over them. (QS. [39] Az-Zumar: 41)Tafsir
اَللّٰهُ يَتَوَفَّى الْاَنْفُسَ حِيْنَ مَوْتِهَا وَالَّتِيْ لَمْ تَمُتْ فِيْ مَنَامِهَا ۚ فَيُمْسِكُ الَّتِي قَضٰى عَلَيْهَا الْمَوْتَ وَيُرْسِلُ الْاُخْرٰىٓ اِلٰٓى اَجَلٍ مُّسَمًّىۗ اِنَّ فِيْ ذٰلِكَ لَاٰيٰتٍ لِّقَوْمٍ يَّتَفَكَّرُوْنَ ٤٢
- al-lahu
- ٱللَّهُ
- Allah
- yatawaffā
- يَتَوَفَّى
- takes
- l-anfusa
- ٱلْأَنفُسَ
- the souls
- ḥīna
- حِينَ
- (at the) time
- mawtihā
- مَوْتِهَا
- (of) their death
- wa-allatī
- وَٱلَّتِى
- and the one who
- lam
- لَمْ
- (does) not
- tamut
- تَمُتْ
- die
- fī
- فِى
- in
- manāmihā
- مَنَامِهَاۖ
- their sleep
- fayum'siku
- فَيُمْسِكُ
- Then He keeps
- allatī
- ٱلَّتِى
- the one whom
- qaḍā
- قَضَىٰ
- He has decreed
- ʿalayhā
- عَلَيْهَا
- for them
- l-mawta
- ٱلْمَوْتَ
- the death
- wayur'silu
- وَيُرْسِلُ
- and sends
- l-ukh'rā
- ٱلْأُخْرَىٰٓ
- the others
- ilā
- إِلَىٰٓ
- for
- ajalin
- أَجَلٍ
- a term
- musamman
- مُّسَمًّىۚ
- specified
- inna
- إِنَّ
- Indeed
- fī
- فِى
- in
- dhālika
- ذَٰلِكَ
- that
- laāyātin
- لَءَايَٰتٍ
- surely (are) signs
- liqawmin
- لِّقَوْمٍ
- for a people
- yatafakkarūna
- يَتَفَكَّرُونَ
- who ponder
Allah takes the souls at the time of their death, and those that do not die [He takes] during their sleep. Then He keeps those for which He has decreed death and releases the others for a specified term. Indeed in that are signs for a people who give thought. (QS. [39] Az-Zumar: 42)Tafsir
اَمِ اتَّخَذُوْا مِنْ دُوْنِ اللّٰهِ شُفَعَاۤءَۗ قُلْ اَوَلَوْ كَانُوْا لَا يَمْلِكُوْنَ شَيْـًٔا وَّلَا يَعْقِلُوْنَ ٤٣
- ami
- أَمِ
- Or
- ittakhadhū
- ٱتَّخَذُوا۟
- have they taken
- min
- مِن
- besides
- dūni
- دُونِ
- besides
- l-lahi
- ٱللَّهِ
- Allah
- shufaʿāa
- شُفَعَآءَۚ
- intercessors?
- qul
- قُلْ
- Say
- awalaw
- أَوَلَوْ
- "Even though
- kānū
- كَانُوا۟
- they were
- lā
- لَا
- not
- yamlikūna
- يَمْلِكُونَ
- possessing
- shayan
- شَيْـًٔا
- anything
- walā
- وَلَا
- and not
- yaʿqilūna
- يَعْقِلُونَ
- they understand?"
Or have they taken other than Allah as intercessors? Say, "Even though they do not possess [power over] anything, nor do they reason?" (QS. [39] Az-Zumar: 43)Tafsir
قُلْ لِّلّٰهِ الشَّفَاعَةُ جَمِيْعًا ۗ لَهٗ مُلْكُ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالْاَرْضِۗ ثُمَّ اِلَيْهِ تُرْجَعُوْنَ ٤٤
- qul
- قُل
- Say
- lillahi
- لِّلَّهِ
- "To Allah (belongs)
- l-shafāʿatu
- ٱلشَّفَٰعَةُ
- the intercession
- jamīʿan
- جَمِيعًاۖ
- all
- lahu
- لَّهُۥ
- For Him
- mul'ku
- مُلْكُ
- (is the) dominion
- l-samāwāti
- ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ
- (of) the heavens
- wal-arḍi
- وَٱلْأَرْضِۖ
- and the earth
- thumma
- ثُمَّ
- Then
- ilayhi
- إِلَيْهِ
- to Him
- tur'jaʿūna
- تُرْجَعُونَ
- you will be returned"
Say, "To Allah belongs [the right to allow] intercession entirely. To Him belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth. Then to Him you will be returned." (QS. [39] Az-Zumar: 44)Tafsir
وَاِذَا ذُكِرَ اللّٰهُ وَحْدَهُ اشْمَـَٔزَّتْ قُلُوْبُ الَّذِيْنَ لَا يُؤْمِنُوْنَ بِالْاٰخِرَةِۚ وَاِذَا ذُكِرَ الَّذِيْنَ مِنْ دُوْنِهٖٓ اِذَا هُمْ يَسْتَبْشِرُوْنَ ٤٥
- wa-idhā
- وَإِذَا
- And when
- dhukira
- ذُكِرَ
- Allah is mentioned
- l-lahu
- ٱللَّهُ
- Allah is mentioned
- waḥdahu
- وَحْدَهُ
- Alone
- ish'ma-azzat
- ٱشْمَأَزَّتْ
- shrink with aversion
- qulūbu
- قُلُوبُ
- (the) hearts
- alladhīna
- ٱلَّذِينَ
- (of) those who
- lā
- لَا
- (do) not
- yu'minūna
- يُؤْمِنُونَ
- believe
- bil-ākhirati
- بِٱلْءَاخِرَةِۖ
- in the Hereafter
- wa-idhā
- وَإِذَا
- and when
- dhukira
- ذُكِرَ
- are mentioned
- alladhīna
- ٱلَّذِينَ
- those
- min
- مِن
- besides Him
- dūnihi
- دُونِهِۦٓ
- besides Him
- idhā
- إِذَا
- behold!
- hum
- هُمْ
- They
- yastabshirūna
- يَسْتَبْشِرُونَ
- rejoice
And when Allah is mentioned alone, the hearts of those who do not believe in the Hereafter shrink with aversion, but when those [worshipped] other than Him are mentioned, immediately they rejoice. (QS. [39] Az-Zumar: 45)Tafsir
قُلِ اللهم فَاطِرَ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالْاَرْضِ عٰلِمَ الْغَيْبِ وَالشَّهَادَةِ اَنْتَ تَحْكُمُ بَيْنَ عِبَادِكَ فِيْ مَا كَانُوْا فِيْهِ يَخْتَلِفُوْنَ ٤٦
- quli
- قُلِ
- Say
- l-lahuma
- ٱللَّهُمَّ
- "O Allah!
- fāṭira
- فَاطِرَ
- Creator
- l-samāwāti
- ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ
- (of) the heavens
- wal-arḍi
- وَٱلْأَرْضِ
- and the earth
- ʿālima
- عَٰلِمَ
- Knower
- l-ghaybi
- ٱلْغَيْبِ
- (of) the unseen
- wal-shahādati
- وَٱلشَّهَٰدَةِ
- and the witnessed
- anta
- أَنتَ
- You
- taḥkumu
- تَحْكُمُ
- will judge
- bayna
- بَيْنَ
- between
- ʿibādika
- عِبَادِكَ
- Your slaves
- fī
- فِى
- in
- mā
- مَا
- what
- kānū
- كَانُوا۟
- they used (to)
- fīhi
- فِيهِ
- therein
- yakhtalifūna
- يَخْتَلِفُونَ
- differ"
Say, "O Allah, Creator of the heavens and the earth, Knower of the unseen and the witnessed, You will judge between your servants concerning that over which they used to differ." (QS. [39] Az-Zumar: 46)Tafsir
وَلَوْ اَنَّ لِلَّذِيْنَ ظَلَمُوْا مَا فِى الْاَرْضِ جَمِيْعًا وَّمِثْلَهٗ مَعَهٗ لَافْتَدَوْا بِهٖ مِنْ سُوْۤءِ الْعَذَابِ يَوْمَ الْقِيٰمَةِۗ وَبَدَا لَهُمْ مِّنَ اللّٰهِ مَا لَمْ يَكُوْنُوْا يَحْتَسِبُوْنَ ٤٧
- walaw
- وَلَوْ
- And if
- anna
- أَنَّ
- And if
- lilladhīna
- لِلَّذِينَ
- those who
- ẓalamū
- ظَلَمُوا۟
- did wrong
- mā
- مَا
- (had) whatever
- fī
- فِى
- (is) in
- l-arḍi
- ٱلْأَرْضِ
- the earth
- jamīʿan
- جَمِيعًا
- all
- wamith'lahu
- وَمِثْلَهُۥ
- and (the) like of it
- maʿahu
- مَعَهُۥ
- with it
- la-if'tadaw
- لَٱفْتَدَوْا۟
- they would ransom
- bihi
- بِهِۦ
- with it
- min
- مِن
- from
- sūi
- سُوٓءِ
- (the) evil
- l-ʿadhābi
- ٱلْعَذَابِ
- (of) the punishment
- yawma
- يَوْمَ
- (on the) Day
- l-qiyāmati
- ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِۚ
- (of) the Resurrection
- wabadā
- وَبَدَا
- And (will) appear
- lahum
- لَهُم
- to them
- mina
- مِّنَ
- from
- l-lahi
- ٱللَّهِ
- Allah
- mā
- مَا
- what
- lam
- لَمْ
- not
- yakūnū
- يَكُونُوا۟
- they had
- yaḥtasibūna
- يَحْتَسِبُونَ
- taken into account
And if those who did wrong had all that is in the earth entirely and the like of it with it, they would [attempt to] ransom themselves thereby from the worst of the punishment on the Day of Resurrection. And there will appear to them from Allah that which they had not taken into account. (QS. [39] Az-Zumar: 47)Tafsir
وَبَدَا لَهُمْ سَيِّاٰتُ مَا كَسَبُوْا وَحَاقَ بِهِمْ مَّا كَانُوْا بِهٖ يَسْتَهْزِءُوْنَ ٤٨
- wabadā
- وَبَدَا
- And will become apparent
- lahum
- لَهُمْ
- to them
- sayyiātu
- سَيِّـَٔاتُ
- (the) evils
- mā
- مَا
- (of) what
- kasabū
- كَسَبُوا۟
- they earned
- waḥāqa
- وَحَاقَ
- and will surround
- bihim
- بِهِم
- them
- mā
- مَّا
- what
- kānū
- كَانُوا۟
- they used (to)
- bihi
- بِهِۦ
- [in it]
- yastahziūna
- يَسْتَهْزِءُونَ
- mock
And there will appear to them the evils they had earned, and they will be enveloped by what they used to ridicule. (QS. [39] Az-Zumar: 48)Tafsir
فَاِذَا مَسَّ الْاِنْسَانَ ضُرٌّ دَعَانَاۖ ثُمَّ اِذَا خَوَّلْنٰهُ نِعْمَةً مِّنَّاۙ قَالَ اِنَّمَآ اُوْتِيْتُهٗ عَلٰى عِلْمٍ ۗبَلْ هِيَ فِتْنَةٌ وَّلٰكِنَّ اَكْثَرَهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُوْنَ ٤٩
- fa-idhā
- فَإِذَا
- So when
- massa
- مَسَّ
- touches
- l-insāna
- ٱلْإِنسَٰنَ
- [the] man
- ḍurrun
- ضُرٌّ
- adversity
- daʿānā
- دَعَانَا
- he calls upon Us;
- thumma
- ثُمَّ
- then
- idhā
- إِذَا
- when
- khawwalnāhu
- خَوَّلْنَٰهُ
- We bestow (on) him
- niʿ'matan
- نِعْمَةً
- a favor
- minnā
- مِّنَّا
- from Us
- qāla
- قَالَ
- he says
- innamā
- إِنَّمَآ
- "Only
- ūtītuhu
- أُوتِيتُهُۥ
- I have been given it
- ʿalā
- عَلَىٰ
- for
- ʿil'min
- عِلْمٍۭۚ
- knowledge"
- bal
- بَلْ
- Nay
- hiya
- هِىَ
- it
- fit'natun
- فِتْنَةٌ
- (is) a trial
- walākinna
- وَلَٰكِنَّ
- but
- aktharahum
- أَكْثَرَهُمْ
- most of them
- lā
- لَا
- (do) not
- yaʿlamūna
- يَعْلَمُونَ
- know
And when adversity touches man, he calls upon Us; then when We bestow on him a favor from Us, he says, "I have only been given it because of [my] knowledge." Rather, it is a trial, but most of them do not know. (QS. [39] Az-Zumar: 49)Tafsir
قَدْ قَالَهَا الَّذِيْنَ مِنْ قَبْلِهِمْ فَمَآ اَغْنٰى عَنْهُمْ مَّا كَانُوْا يَكْسِبُوْنَ ٥٠
- qad
- قَدْ
- Indeed
- qālahā
- قَالَهَا
- said it
- alladhīna
- ٱلَّذِينَ
- those
- min
- مِن
- before them
- qablihim
- قَبْلِهِمْ
- before them
- famā
- فَمَآ
- but (did) not
- aghnā
- أَغْنَىٰ
- avail
- ʿanhum
- عَنْهُم
- them
- mā
- مَّا
- what
- kānū
- كَانُوا۟
- they used (to)
- yaksibūna
- يَكْسِبُونَ
- earn
Those before them had already said it, but they were not availed by what they used to earn. (QS. [39] Az-Zumar: 50)Tafsir
