(The Ant)

61

اَمَّنْ جَعَلَ الْاَرْضَ قَرَارًا وَّجَعَلَ خِلٰلَهَآ اَنْهٰرًا وَّجَعَلَ لَهَا رَوَاسِيَ وَجَعَلَ بَيْنَ الْبَحْرَيْنِ حَاجِزًاۗ ءَاِلٰهٌ مَّعَ اللّٰهِ ۗبَلْ اَكْثَرُهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُوْنَ ۗ ٦١

amman
أَمَّن
Or Who
jaʿala
جَعَلَ
made
l-arḍa
ٱلْأَرْضَ
the earth
qarāran
قَرَارًا
a firm abode
wajaʿala
وَجَعَلَ
and made
khilālahā
خِلَٰلَهَآ
(in) its midst
anhāran
أَنْهَٰرًا
rivers
wajaʿala
وَجَعَلَ
and made
lahā
لَهَا
for it
rawāsiya
رَوَٰسِىَ
firm mountains
wajaʿala
وَجَعَلَ
and made
bayna
بَيْنَ
between
l-baḥrayni
ٱلْبَحْرَيْنِ
the two seas
ḥājizan
حَاجِزًاۗ
a barrier?
a-ilāhun
أَءِلَٰهٌ
Is there any god
maʿa
مَّعَ
with
l-lahi
ٱللَّهِۚ
Allah?
bal
بَلْ
Nay
aktharuhum
أَكْثَرُهُمْ
most of them
لَا
(do) not
yaʿlamūna
يَعْلَمُونَ
know
Is He [not best] who made the earth a stable ground and placed within it rivers and made for it firmly set mountains and placed between the two seas a barrier? Is there a deity with Allah? [No], but most of them do not know. (QS. [27] An-Naml: 61)
Tafsir
62

اَمَّنْ يُّجِيْبُ الْمُضْطَرَّ اِذَا دَعَاهُ وَيَكْشِفُ السُّوْۤءَ وَيَجْعَلُكُمْ خُلَفَاۤءَ الْاَرْضِۗ ءَاِلٰهٌ مَّعَ اللّٰهِ ۗقَلِيْلًا مَّا تَذَكَّرُوْنَۗ ٦٢

amman
أَمَّن
Or Who
yujību
يُجِيبُ
responds
l-muḍ'ṭara
ٱلْمُضْطَرَّ
(to) the distressed one
idhā
إِذَا
when
daʿāhu
دَعَاهُ
he calls Him
wayakshifu
وَيَكْشِفُ
and He removes
l-sūa
ٱلسُّوٓءَ
the evil
wayajʿalukum
وَيَجْعَلُكُمْ
and makes you
khulafāa
خُلَفَآءَ
inheritors
l-arḍi
ٱلْأَرْضِۗ
(of) the earth?
a-ilāhun
أَءِلَٰهٌ
Is there any god
maʿa
مَّعَ
with
l-lahi
ٱللَّهِۚ
Allah?
qalīlan
قَلِيلًا
Little
مَّا
(is) what
tadhakkarūna
تَذَكَّرُونَ
you remember
Is He [not best] who responds to the desperate one when he calls upon Him and removes evil and makes you inheritors of the earth? Is there a deity with Allah? Little do you remember. (QS. [27] An-Naml: 62)
Tafsir
63

اَمَّنْ يَّهْدِيْكُمْ فِيْ ظُلُمٰتِ الْبَرِّ وَالْبَحْرِ وَمَنْ يُّرْسِلُ الرِّيٰحَ بُشْرًا ۢ بَيْنَ يَدَيْ رَحْمَتِهٖۗ ءَاِلٰهٌ مَّعَ اللّٰهِ ۗتَعٰلَى اللّٰهُ عَمَّا يُشْرِكُوْنَ ٦٣

amman
أَمَّن
Or Who
yahdīkum
يَهْدِيكُمْ
guides you
فِى
in
ẓulumāti
ظُلُمَٰتِ
(the) darkness[es]
l-bari
ٱلْبَرِّ
(of) the land
wal-baḥri
وَٱلْبَحْرِ
and the sea
waman
وَمَن
and Who
yur'silu
يُرْسِلُ
sends
l-riyāḥa
ٱلرِّيَٰحَ
the winds
bush'ran
بُشْرًۢا
(as) glad tidings
bayna
بَيْنَ
before
yaday
يَدَىْ
before
raḥmatihi
رَحْمَتِهِۦٓۗ
His Mercy?
a-ilāhun
أَءِلَٰهٌ
Is there any god
maʿa
مَّعَ
with
l-lahi
ٱللَّهِۚ
Allah?
taʿālā
تَعَٰلَى
High is
l-lahu
ٱللَّهُ
Allah
ʿammā
عَمَّا
above what
yush'rikūna
يُشْرِكُونَ
they associate (with Him)
Is He [not best] who guides you through the darknesses of the land and sea and who sends the winds as good tidings before His mercy? Is there a deity with Allah? High is Allah above whatever they associate with Him. (QS. [27] An-Naml: 63)
Tafsir
64

اَمَّنْ يَّبْدَؤُا الْخَلْقَ ثُمَّ يُعِيْدُهٗ وَمَنْ يَّرْزُقُكُمْ مِّنَ السَّمَاۤءِ وَالْاَرْضِۗ ءَاِلٰهٌ مَّعَ اللّٰهِ ۗقُلْ هَاتُوْا بُرْهَانَكُمْ اِنْ كُنْتُمْ صٰدِقِيْنَ ٦٤

أَمَّن
Or Who
yabda-u
يَبْدَؤُا۟
originates
l-khalqa
ٱلْخَلْقَ
the creation
thumma
ثُمَّ
then
yuʿīduhu
يُعِيدُهُۥ
repeats it
waman
وَمَن
and Who
yarzuqukum
يَرْزُقُكُم
provides you
mina
مِّنَ
from
l-samāi
ٱلسَّمَآءِ
the heavens
wal-arḍi
وَٱلْأَرْضِۗ
and the earth?
a-ilāhun
أَءِلَٰهٌ
Is there any god
maʿa
مَّعَ
with
l-lahi
ٱللَّهِۚ
Allah?
qul
قُلْ
Say
hātū
هَاتُوا۟
"Bring forth
bur'hānakum
بُرْهَٰنَكُمْ
your proof
in
إِن
if
kuntum
كُنتُمْ
you are
ṣādiqīna
صَٰدِقِينَ
truthful"
Is He [not best] who begins creation and then repeats it and who provides for you from the heaven and earth? Is there a deity with Allah? Say, "Produce your proof, if you should be truthful." (QS. [27] An-Naml: 64)
Tafsir
65

قُلْ لَّا يَعْلَمُ مَنْ فِى السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالْاَرْضِ الْغَيْبَ اِلَّا اللّٰهُ ۗوَمَا يَشْعُرُوْنَ اَيَّانَ يُبْعَثُوْنَ ٦٥

qul
قُل
Say
لَّا
"No (one)
yaʿlamu
يَعْلَمُ
knows
man
مَن
whoever
فِى
(is) in
l-samāwāti
ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ
the heavens
wal-arḍi
وَٱلْأَرْضِ
and the earth
l-ghayba
ٱلْغَيْبَ
(of) the unseen
illā
إِلَّا
except
l-lahu
ٱللَّهُۚ
Allah
wamā
وَمَا
and not
yashʿurūna
يَشْعُرُونَ
they perceive
ayyāna
أَيَّانَ
when
yub'ʿathūna
يُبْعَثُونَ
they will be resurrected"
Say, "None in the heavens and earth knows the unseen except Allah, and they do not perceive when they will be resurrected." (QS. [27] An-Naml: 65)
Tafsir
66

بَلِ ادّٰرَكَ عِلْمُهُمْ فِى الْاٰخِرَةِۗ بَلْ هُمْ فِيْ شَكٍّ مِّنْهَاۗ بَلْ هُمْ مِّنْهَا عَمُوْنَ ࣖ ٦٦

bali
بَلِ
Nay
iddāraka
ٱدَّٰرَكَ
is arrested
ʿil'muhum
عِلْمُهُمْ
their knowledge
فِى
of
l-ākhirati
ٱلْءَاخِرَةِۚ
the Hereafter?
bal
بَلْ
Nay
hum
هُمْ
they
فِى
(are) in
shakkin
شَكٍّ
doubt
min'hā
مِّنْهَاۖ
about it
bal
بَلْ
Nay
hum
هُم
they
min'hā
مِّنْهَا
about it
ʿamūna
عَمُونَ
(are) blind
Rather, their knowledge is arrested concerning the Hereafter. Rather, they are in doubt about it. Rather, they are, concerning it, blind. (QS. [27] An-Naml: 66)
Tafsir
67

وَقَالَ الَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوْٓا ءَاِذَا كُنَّا تُرَابًا وَّاٰبَاۤؤُنَآ اَىِٕنَّا لَمُخْرَجُوْنَ ٦٧

waqāla
وَقَالَ
And say
alladhīna
ٱلَّذِينَ
those who
kafarū
كَفَرُوٓا۟
disbelieve
a-idhā
أَءِذَا
"What when
kunnā
كُنَّا
we have become
turāban
تُرَٰبًا
dust
waābāunā
وَءَابَآؤُنَآ
and our forefathers
a-innā
أَئِنَّا
will we
lamukh'rajūna
لَمُخْرَجُونَ
surely be brought out?
And those who disbelieve say, "When we have become dust as well as our forefathers, will we indeed be brought out [of the graves]? (QS. [27] An-Naml: 67)
Tafsir
68

لَقَدْ وُعِدْنَا هٰذَا نَحْنُ وَاٰبَاۤؤُنَا مِنْ قَبْلُۙ اِنْ هٰذَآ اِلَّآ اَسَاطِيْرُ الْاَوَّلِيْنَ ٦٨

laqad
لَقَدْ
Certainly
wuʿid'nā
وُعِدْنَا
we have been promised
hādhā
هَٰذَا
this
naḥnu
نَحْنُ
we
waābāunā
وَءَابَآؤُنَا
and our forefathers
min
مِن
before
qablu
قَبْلُ
before
in
إِنْ
Not
hādhā
هَٰذَآ
(is) this
illā
إِلَّآ
except
asāṭīru
أَسَٰطِيرُ
tales
l-awalīna
ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
(of) the former (people)"
We have been promised this, we and our forefathers, before. This is not but legends of the former peoples." (QS. [27] An-Naml: 68)
Tafsir
69

قُلْ سِيْرُوْا فِى الْاَرْضِ فَانْظُرُوْا كَيْفَ كَانَ عَاقِبَةُ الْمُجْرِمِيْنَ ٦٩

qul
قُلْ
Say
sīrū
سِيرُوا۟
"Travel
فِى
in
l-arḍi
ٱلْأَرْضِ
the land
fa-unẓurū
فَٱنظُرُوا۟
and see
kayfa
كَيْفَ
how
kāna
كَانَ
was
ʿāqibatu
عَٰقِبَةُ
(the) end
l-muj'rimīna
ٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ
(of) the criminals"
Say, [O Muhammad], "Proceed [i.e., travel] through the land and observe how was the end of the criminals." (QS. [27] An-Naml: 69)
Tafsir
70

وَلَا تَحْزَنْ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا تَكُنْ فِيْ ضَيْقٍ مِّمَّا يَمْكُرُوْنَ ٧٠

walā
وَلَا
And (do) not
taḥzan
تَحْزَنْ
grieve
ʿalayhim
عَلَيْهِمْ
over them
walā
وَلَا
and not
takun
تَكُن
be
فِى
in
ḍayqin
ضَيْقٍ
distress
mimmā
مِّمَّا
from what
yamkurūna
يَمْكُرُونَ
they plot
And grieve not over them or be in distress from what they conspire. (QS. [27] An-Naml: 70)
