(Ta-Ha)

31

اشْدُدْ بِهٖٓ اَزْرِيْ ۙ ٣١

ush'dud
ٱشْدُدْ
Reinforce
bihi
بِهِۦٓ
through him
azrī
أَزْرِى
my strength
Increase through him my strength (QS. [20] Taha: 31)
Tafsir
32

وَاَشْرِكْهُ فِيْٓ اَمْرِيْ ۙ ٣٢

wa-ashrik'hu
وَأَشْرِكْهُ
And make him share
فِىٓ
[in]
amrī
أَمْرِى
my task
And let him share my task (QS. [20] Taha: 32)
Tafsir
33

كَيْ نُسَبِّحَكَ كَثِيْرًا ۙ ٣٣

kay
كَىْ
That
nusabbiḥaka
نُسَبِّحَكَ
we may glorify You
kathīran
كَثِيرًا
much
That we may exalt You much (QS. [20] Taha: 33)
Tafsir
34

وَّنَذْكُرَكَ كَثِيْرًا ۗ ٣٤

wanadhkuraka
وَنَذْكُرَكَ
And [we] remember You
kathīran
كَثِيرًا
much
And remember You much. (QS. [20] Taha: 34)
Tafsir
35

اِنَّكَ كُنْتَ بِنَا بَصِيْرًا ٣٥

innaka
إِنَّكَ
Indeed [You]
kunta
كُنتَ
You are
binā
بِنَا
of us
baṣīran
بَصِيرًا
All-Seer"
Indeed, You are of us ever Seeing." (QS. [20] Taha: 35)
Tafsir
36

قَالَ قَدْ اُوْتِيْتَ سُؤْلَكَ يٰمُوْسٰى ٣٦

qāla
قَالَ
He said
qad
قَدْ
"Verily
ūtīta
أُوتِيتَ
you are granted
su'laka
سُؤْلَكَ
your request
yāmūsā
يَٰمُوسَىٰ
O Musa!
[Allah] said, "You have been granted your request, O Moses. (QS. [20] Taha: 36)
Tafsir
37

وَلَقَدْ مَنَنَّا عَلَيْكَ مَرَّةً اُخْرٰىٓ ۙ ٣٧

walaqad
وَلَقَدْ
And indeed
manannā
مَنَنَّا
We conferred a favor
ʿalayka
عَلَيْكَ
on you
marratan
مَرَّةً
another time
ukh'rā
أُخْرَىٰٓ
another time
And We had already conferred favor upon you another time, (QS. [20] Taha: 37)
Tafsir
38

اِذْ اَوْحَيْنَآ اِلٰٓى اُمِّكَ مَا يُوْحٰىٓ ۙ ٣٨

idh
إِذْ
When
awḥaynā
أَوْحَيْنَآ
We inspired
ilā
إِلَىٰٓ
to
ummika
أُمِّكَ
your mother
مَا
what
yūḥā
يُوحَىٰٓ
is inspired
When We inspired to your mother what We inspired, (QS. [20] Taha: 38)
Tafsir
39

اَنِ اقْذِفِيْهِ فِى التَّابُوْتِ فَاقْذِفِيْهِ فِى الْيَمِّ فَلْيُلْقِهِ الْيَمُّ بِالسَّاحِلِ يَأْخُذْهُ عَدُوٌّ لِّيْ وَعَدُوٌّ لَّهٗ ۗوَاَلْقَيْتُ عَلَيْكَ مَحَبَّةً مِّنِّيْ ەۚ وَلِتُصْنَعَ عَلٰى عَيْنِيْ ۘ ٣٩

ani

ٱقْذِفِيهِ
cast him
فِى
in
l-tābūti
ٱلتَّابُوتِ
the chest
fa-iq'dhifīhi
فَٱقْذِفِيهِ
then cast it
فِى
in
l-yami
ٱلْيَمِّ
the river
falyul'qihi
فَلْيُلْقِهِ
then let cast it
l-yamu
ٱلْيَمُّ
the river
bil-sāḥili
بِٱلسَّاحِلِ
on the bank;
yakhudh'hu
يَأْخُذْهُ
will take him
ʿaduwwun
عَدُوٌّ
an enemy
لِّى
to Me
waʿaduwwun
وَعَدُوٌّ
and an enemy
lahu
لَّهُۥۚ
to him'"
wa-alqaytu
وَأَلْقَيْتُ
And I cast
ʿalayka
عَلَيْكَ
over you
maḥabbatan
مَحَبَّةً
love
minnī
مِّنِّى
from Me
walituṣ'naʿa
وَلِتُصْنَعَ
and that you may be brought up
ʿalā
عَلَىٰ
under
ʿaynī
عَيْنِىٓ
My Eye
[Saying], 'Cast him into the chest and cast it into the river, and the river will throw it onto the bank; there will take him an enemy to Me and an enemy to him.' And I bestowed upon you love from Me that you would be brought up under My eye [i.e., observation and care]. (QS. [20] Taha: 39)
Tafsir
40

اِذْ تَمْشِيْٓ اُخْتُكَ فَتَقُوْلُ هَلْ اَدُلُّكُمْ عَلٰى مَنْ يَّكْفُلُهٗ ۗفَرَجَعْنٰكَ اِلٰٓى اُمِّكَ كَيْ تَقَرَّ عَيْنُهَا وَلَا تَحْزَنَ ەۗ وَقَتَلْتَ نَفْسًا فَنَجَّيْنٰكَ مِنَ الْغَمِّ وَفَتَنّٰكَ فُتُوْنًا ەۗ فَلَبِثْتَ سِنِيْنَ فِيْٓ اَهْلِ مَدْيَنَ ەۙ ثُمَّ جِئْتَ عَلٰى قَدَرٍ يّٰمُوْسٰى ٤٠

إِذْ
When
tamshī
تَمْشِىٓ
was going
ukh'tuka
أُخْتُكَ
your sister
fataqūlu
فَتَقُولُ
and she said
hal
هَلْ
"Shall
adullukum
أَدُلُّكُمْ
I show you
ʿalā
عَلَىٰ
[to]
man
مَن
(one) who
yakfuluhu
يَكْفُلُهُۥۖ
will nurse and rear him'?"
farajaʿnāka
فَرَجَعْنَٰكَ
So We returned you
ilā
إِلَىٰٓ
to
ummika
أُمِّكَ
your mother
kay
كَىْ
that
taqarra
تَقَرَّ
may be cooled
ʿaynuhā
عَيْنُهَا
her eyes
walā
وَلَا
and not
taḥzana
تَحْزَنَۚ
she grieves
waqatalta
وَقَتَلْتَ
And you killed
nafsan
نَفْسًا
a man
fanajjaynāka
فَنَجَّيْنَٰكَ
but We saved you
mina
مِنَ
from
l-ghami
ٱلْغَمِّ
the distress
wafatannāka
وَفَتَنَّٰكَ
and We tried you
futūnan
فُتُونًاۚ
(with) a trial
falabith'ta
فَلَبِثْتَ
Then you remained
sinīna
سِنِينَ
(some) years
فِىٓ
with
ahli
أَهْلِ
(the) people
madyana
مَدْيَنَ
(of) Madyan
thumma
ثُمَّ
Then
ji'ta
جِئْتَ
you came
ʿalā
عَلَىٰ
at
qadarin
قَدَرٍ
the decreed (time)
yāmūsā
يَٰمُوسَىٰ
O Musa!
[And We favored you] when your sister went and said, 'Shall I direct you to someone who will be responsible for him?' So We restored you to your mother that she might be content and not grieve. And you killed someone, but We saved you from retaliation and tried you with a [severe] trial. And you remained [some] years among the people of Madyan. Then you came [here] at the decreed time, O Moses. (QS. [20] Taha: 40)
