۞ وَقَالَ اللّٰهُ لَا تَتَّخِذُوْٓا اِلٰهَيْنِ اثْنَيْنِۚ اِنَّمَا هُوَ اِلٰهٌ وَّاحِدٌ فَاِيَّايَ فَارْهَبُوْنِ ٥١
- waqāla
- وَقَالَ
- And Allah has said
- l-lahu
- ٱللَّهُ
- And Allah has said
- lā
- لَا
- "(Do) not
- tattakhidhū
- تَتَّخِذُوٓا۟
- take
- ilāhayni
- إِلَٰهَيْنِ
- [two] gods
- ith'nayni
- ٱثْنَيْنِۖ
- two
- innamā
- إِنَّمَا
- only
- huwa
- هُوَ
- He
- ilāhun
- إِلَٰهٌ
- (is) God
- wāḥidun
- وَٰحِدٌۖ
- One
- fa-iyyāya
- فَإِيَّٰىَ
- so Me Alone
- fa-ir'habūni
- فَٱرْهَبُونِ
- you fear [Me]"
And Allah has said, "Do not take for yourselves two deities. He [i.e., Allah] is but one God, so fear only Me." (QS. [16] An-Nahl: 51)Tafsir
وَلَهٗ مَا فِى السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالْاَرْضِ وَلَهُ الدِّيْنُ وَاصِبًاۗ اَفَغَيْرَ اللّٰهِ تَتَّقُوْنَ ٥٢
- walahu
- وَلَهُۥ
- And to Him (belongs)
- mā
- مَا
- whatever
- fī
- فِى
- (is) in
- l-samāwāti
- ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ
- the heavens
- wal-arḍi
- وَٱلْأَرْضِ
- and the earth
- walahu
- وَلَهُ
- and to Him
- l-dīnu
- ٱلدِّينُ
- (is due) the worship
- wāṣiban
- وَاصِبًاۚ
- constantly
- afaghayra
- أَفَغَيْرَ
- Then is it other (than)
- l-lahi
- ٱللَّهِ
- Allah
- tattaqūna
- تَتَّقُونَ
- you fear?
And to Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and the earth, and to Him is [due] worship constantly. Then is it other than Allah that you fear? (QS. [16] An-Nahl: 52)Tafsir
وَمَا بِكُمْ مِّنْ نِّعْمَةٍ فَمِنَ اللّٰهِ ثُمَّ اِذَا مَسَّكُمُ الضُّرُّ فَاِلَيْهِ تَجْـَٔرُوْنَۚ ٥٣
- wamā
- وَمَا
- And whatever
- bikum
- بِكُم
- you have
- min
- مِّن
- of
- niʿ'matin
- نِّعْمَةٍ
- favor
- famina
- فَمِنَ
- (is) from
- l-lahi
- ٱللَّهِۖ
- Allah
- thumma
- ثُمَّ
- Then
- idhā
- إِذَا
- when
- massakumu
- مَسَّكُمُ
- touches you
- l-ḍuru
- ٱلضُّرُّ
- the adversity
- fa-ilayhi
- فَإِلَيْهِ
- then to Him
- tajarūna
- تَجْـَٔرُونَ
- you cry for help
And whatever you have of favor – it is from Allah. Then when adversity touches you, to Him you cry for help. (QS. [16] An-Nahl: 53)Tafsir
ثُمَّ اِذَا كَشَفَ الضُّرَّ عَنْكُمْ اِذَا فَرِيْقٌ مِّنْكُمْ بِرَبِّهِمْ يُشْرِكُوْنَۙ ٥٤
- thumma
- ثُمَّ
- Then
- idhā
- إِذَا
- when
- kashafa
- كَشَفَ
- He removes
- l-ḍura
- ٱلضُّرَّ
- the adversity
- ʿankum
- عَنكُمْ
- from you
- idhā
- إِذَا
- behold!
- farīqun
- فَرِيقٌ
- A group
- minkum
- مِّنكُم
- of you
- birabbihim
- بِرَبِّهِمْ
- with their Lord
- yush'rikūna
- يُشْرِكُونَ
- associate others
Then when He removes the adversity from you, at once a party of you associates others with their Lord (QS. [16] An-Nahl: 54)Tafsir
لِيَكْفُرُوْا بِمَآ اٰتَيْنٰهُمْۗ فَتَمَتَّعُوْاۗ فَسَوْفَ تَعْلَمُوْنَ ٥٥
- liyakfurū
- لِيَكْفُرُوا۟
- So as to deny
- bimā
- بِمَآ
- that which
- ātaynāhum
- ءَاتَيْنَٰهُمْۚ
- We have given them
- fatamattaʿū
- فَتَمَتَّعُوا۟ۖ
- Then enjoy yourselves
- fasawfa
- فَسَوْفَ
- soon
- taʿlamūna
- تَعْلَمُونَ
- you will know
So they will deny what We have given them. Then enjoy yourselves, for you are going to know. (QS. [16] An-Nahl: 55)Tafsir
وَيَجْعَلُوْنَ لِمَا لَا يَعْلَمُوْنَ نَصِيْبًا مِّمَّا رَزَقْنٰهُمْۗ تَاللّٰهِ لَتُسْـَٔلُنَّ عَمَّا كُنْتُمْ تَفْتَرُوْنَ ٥٦
- wayajʿalūna
- وَيَجْعَلُونَ
- And they assign
- limā
- لِمَا
- to what
- lā
- لَا
- not
- yaʿlamūna
- يَعْلَمُونَ
- they know -
- naṣīban
- نَصِيبًا
- a portion
- mimmā
- مِّمَّا
- of what
- razaqnāhum
- رَزَقْنَٰهُمْۗ
- We have provided them
- tal-lahi
- تَٱللَّهِ
- By Allah
- latus'alunna
- لَتُسْـَٔلُنَّ
- surely you will be asked
- ʿammā
- عَمَّا
- about what
- kuntum
- كُنتُمْ
- you used (to)
- taftarūna
- تَفْتَرُونَ
- invent
And they assign to what they do not know [i.e., false deities] a portion of that which We have provided them. By Allah, you will surely be questioned about what you used to invent. (QS. [16] An-Nahl: 56)Tafsir
وَيَجْعَلُوْنَ لِلّٰهِ الْبَنٰتِ سُبْحٰنَهٗۙ وَلَهُمْ مَّا يَشْتَهُوْنَ ٥٧
- wayajʿalūna
- وَيَجْعَلُونَ
- And they assign
- lillahi
- لِلَّهِ
- to Allah
- l-banāti
- ٱلْبَنَٰتِ
- daughters
- sub'ḥānahu
- سُبْحَٰنَهُۥۙ
- Glory be to Him!
- walahum
- وَلَهُم
- And for them
- mā
- مَّا
- (is) what
- yashtahūna
- يَشْتَهُونَ
- they desire
And they attribute to Allah daughters – exalted is He – and for them is what they desire [i.e., sons]. (QS. [16] An-Nahl: 57)Tafsir
وَاِذَا بُشِّرَ اَحَدُهُمْ بِالْاُنْثٰى ظَلَّ وَجْهُهٗ مُسْوَدًّا وَّهُوَ كَظِيْمٌۚ ٥٨
- wa-idhā
- وَإِذَا
- And when
- bushira
- بُشِّرَ
- is given good news
- aḥaduhum
- أَحَدُهُم
- (to) one of them
- bil-unthā
- بِٱلْأُنثَىٰ
- of a female
- ẓalla
- ظَلَّ
- turns
- wajhuhu
- وَجْهُهُۥ
- his face
- mus'waddan
- مُسْوَدًّا
- dark
- wahuwa
- وَهُوَ
- and he
- kaẓīmun
- كَظِيمٌ
- suppresses grief
And when one of them is informed of [the birth of] a female, his face becomes dark, and he suppresses grief. (QS. [16] An-Nahl: 58)Tafsir
يَتَوٰرٰى مِنَ الْقَوْمِ مِنْ سُوْۤءِ مَا بُشِّرَ بِهٖۗ اَيُمْسِكُهٗ عَلٰى هُوْنٍ اَمْ يَدُسُّهٗ فِى التُّرَابِۗ اَلَا سَاۤءَ مَا يَحْكُمُوْنَ ٥٩
- yatawārā
- يَتَوَٰرَىٰ
- He hides himself
- mina
- مِنَ
- from
- l-qawmi
- ٱلْقَوْمِ
- the people
- min
- مِن
- (because) of
- sūi
- سُوٓءِ
- the evil
- mā
- مَا
- of what
- bushira
- بُشِّرَ
- he has been given good news
- bihi
- بِهِۦٓۚ
- about
- ayum'sikuhu
- أَيُمْسِكُهُۥ
- Should he keep it
- ʿalā
- عَلَىٰ
- in
- hūnin
- هُونٍ
- humiliation
- am
- أَمْ
- or
- yadussuhu
- يَدُسُّهُۥ
- bury it
- fī
- فِى
- in
- l-turābi
- ٱلتُّرَابِۗ
- the dust?
- alā
- أَلَا
- Unquestionably
- sāa
- سَآءَ
- evil
- mā
- مَا
- (is) what
- yaḥkumūna
- يَحْكُمُونَ
- they decide
He hides himself from the people because of the ill of which he has been informed. Should he keep it in humiliation or bury it in the ground? Unquestionably, evil is what they decide. (QS. [16] An-Nahl: 59)Tafsir
لِلَّذِيْنَ لَا يُؤْمِنُوْنَ بِالْاٰخِرَةِ مَثَلُ السَّوْءِۚ وَلِلّٰهِ الْمَثَلُ الْاَعْلٰىۗ وَهُوَ الْعَزِيْزُ الْحَكِيْمُ ࣖ ٦٠
- lilladhīna
- لِلَّذِينَ
- For those who
- lā
- لَا
- (do) not
- yu'minūna
- يُؤْمِنُونَ
- believe
- bil-ākhirati
- بِٱلْءَاخِرَةِ
- in the Hereafter
- mathalu
- مَثَلُ
- (is) a similitude
- l-sawi
- ٱلسَّوْءِۖ
- (of) the evil
- walillahi
- وَلِلَّهِ
- and for Allah
- l-mathalu
- ٱلْمَثَلُ
- (is) the similitude
- l-aʿlā
- ٱلْأَعْلَىٰۚ
- the Highest
- wahuwa
- وَهُوَ
- And He
- l-ʿazīzu
- ٱلْعَزِيزُ
- (is) the All-Mighty
- l-ḥakīmu
- ٱلْحَكِيمُ
- All-Wise
For those who do not believe in the Hereafter is the description [i.e., an attribute] of evil; and for Allah is the highest attribute. And He is Exalted in Might, the Wise. (QS. [16] An-Nahl: 60)Tafsir
