Surah Al-Bayyinah - Word by Word
(The Clear Proof)
لَمْ يَكُنِ الَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوْا مِنْ اَهْلِ الْكِتٰبِ وَالْمُشْرِكِيْنَ مُنْفَكِّيْنَ حَتّٰى تَأْتِيَهُمُ الْبَيِّنَةُۙ ١
- lam
- لَمْ
- Not
- yakuni
- يَكُنِ
- were
- alladhīna
- ٱلَّذِينَ
- those who
- kafarū
- كَفَرُوا۟
- disbelieved
- min
- مِنْ
- from
- ahli
- أَهْلِ
- (the) People
- l-kitābi
- ٱلْكِتَٰبِ
- of the Book
- wal-mush'rikīna
- وَٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ
- and the polytheists
- munfakkīna
- مُنفَكِّينَ
- to be abandoned
- ḥattā
- حَتَّىٰ
- until
- tatiyahumu
- تَأْتِيَهُمُ
- (there) comes to them
- l-bayinatu
- ٱلْبَيِّنَةُ
- the clear evidence
Those who disbelieved among the People of the Scripture and the polytheists were not to be parted [from misbelief] until there came to them clear evidence (QS. [98] Al-Bayyinah: 1)Tafsir
رَسُوْلٌ مِّنَ اللّٰهِ يَتْلُوْا صُحُفًا مُّطَهَّرَةًۙ ٢
- rasūlun
- رَسُولٌ
- A Messenger
- mina
- مِّنَ
- from
- l-lahi
- ٱللَّهِ
- Allah
- yatlū
- يَتْلُوا۟
- reciting
- ṣuḥufan
- صُحُفًا
- pages
- muṭahharatan
- مُّطَهَّرَةً
- purified
A Messenger from Allah, reciting purified scriptures (QS. [98] Al-Bayyinah: 2)Tafsir
فِيْهَا كُتُبٌ قَيِّمَةٌ ۗ ٣
- fīhā
- فِيهَا
- Wherein
- kutubun
- كُتُبٌ
- (are) writings
- qayyimatun
- قَيِّمَةٌ
- correct
Within which are correct writings [i.e., rulings and laws]. (QS. [98] Al-Bayyinah: 3)Tafsir
وَمَا تَفَرَّقَ الَّذِيْنَ اُوْتُوا الْكِتٰبَ اِلَّا مِنْۢ بَعْدِ مَا جَاۤءَتْهُمُ الْبَيِّنَةُ ۗ ٤
- wamā
- وَمَا
- And not
- tafarraqa
- تَفَرَّقَ
- became divided
- alladhīna
- ٱلَّذِينَ
- those who
- ūtū
- أُوتُوا۟
- were given
- l-kitāba
- ٱلْكِتَٰبَ
- the Book
- illā
- إِلَّا
- until
- min
- مِنۢ
- from
- baʿdi
- بَعْدِ
- after
- mā
- مَا
- what
- jāathumu
- جَآءَتْهُمُ
- came (to) them
- l-bayinatu
- ٱلْبَيِّنَةُ
- (of) the clear evidence
Nor did those who were given the Scripture become divided until after there had come to them clear evidence. (QS. [98] Al-Bayyinah: 4)Tafsir
وَمَآ اُمِرُوْٓا اِلَّا لِيَعْبُدُوا اللّٰهَ مُخْلِصِيْنَ لَهُ الدِّيْنَ ەۙ حُنَفَاۤءَ وَيُقِيْمُوا الصَّلٰوةَ وَيُؤْتُوا الزَّكٰوةَ وَذٰلِكَ دِيْنُ الْقَيِّمَةِۗ ٥
- wamā
- وَمَآ
- And not
- umirū
- أُمِرُوٓا۟
- they were commanded
- illā
- إِلَّا
- except
- liyaʿbudū
- لِيَعْبُدُوا۟
- to worship
- l-laha
- ٱللَّهَ
- Allah
- mukh'liṣīna
- مُخْلِصِينَ
- (being) sincere
- lahu
- لَهُ
- to Him
- l-dīna
- ٱلدِّينَ
- (in) the religion
- ḥunafāa
- حُنَفَآءَ
- upright
- wayuqīmū
- وَيُقِيمُوا۟
- and to establish
- l-ṣalata
- ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ
- the prayer
- wayu'tū
- وَيُؤْتُوا۟
- and to give
- l-zakata
- ٱلزَّكَوٰةَۚ
- the Zakah
- wadhālika
- وَذَٰلِكَ
- And that
- dīnu
- دِينُ
- (is the) religion
- l-qayimati
- ٱلْقَيِّمَةِ
- the correct
And they were not commanded except to worship Allah, [being] sincere to Him in religion, inclining to truth, and to establish prayer and to give Zakah. And that is the correct religion. (QS. [98] Al-Bayyinah: 5)Tafsir
اِنَّ الَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوْا مِنْ اَهْلِ الْكِتٰبِ وَالْمُشْرِكِيْنَ فِيْ نَارِ جَهَنَّمَ خٰلِدِيْنَ فِيْهَاۗ اُولٰۤىِٕكَ هُمْ شَرُّ الْبَرِيَّةِۗ ٦
- inna
- إِنَّ
- Indeed
- alladhīna
- ٱلَّذِينَ
- those who
- kafarū
- كَفَرُوا۟
- disbelieve
- min
- مِنْ
- from
- ahli
- أَهْلِ
- (the) People
- l-kitābi
- ٱلْكِتَٰبِ
- (of) the Book
- wal-mush'rikīna
- وَٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ
- and the polytheists
- fī
- فِى
- (will be) in
- nāri
- نَارِ
- (the) Fire
- jahannama
- جَهَنَّمَ
- (of) Hell
- khālidīna
- خَٰلِدِينَ
- abiding eternally
- fīhā
- فِيهَآۚ
- therein
- ulāika
- أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ
- Those -
- hum
- هُمْ
- they
- sharru
- شَرُّ
- (are the) worst
- l-bariyati
- ٱلْبَرِيَّةِ
- (of) the creatures
Indeed, they who disbelieved among the People of the Scripture and the polytheists will be in the fire of Hell, abiding eternally therein. Those are the worst of creatures. (QS. [98] Al-Bayyinah: 6)Tafsir
اِنَّ الَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْا وَعَمِلُوا الصّٰلِحٰتِ اُولٰۤىِٕكَ هُمْ خَيْرُ الْبَرِيَّةِۗ ٧
- inna
- إِنَّ
- Indeed
- alladhīna
- ٱلَّذِينَ
- those who
- āmanū
- ءَامَنُوا۟
- believe
- waʿamilū
- وَعَمِلُوا۟
- and do
- l-ṣāliḥāti
- ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ
- righteous deeds
- ulāika
- أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ
- those -
- hum
- هُمْ
- they
- khayru
- خَيْرُ
- (are the) best
- l-bariyati
- ٱلْبَرِيَّةِ
- (of) the creatures
Indeed, they who have believed and done righteous deeds - those are the best of creatures. (QS. [98] Al-Bayyinah: 7)Tafsir
جَزَاۤؤُهُمْ عِنْدَ رَبِّهِمْ جَنّٰتُ عَدْنٍ تَجْرِيْ مِنْ تَحْتِهَا الْاَنْهٰرُ خٰلِدِيْنَ فِيْهَآ اَبَدًا ۗرَضِيَ اللّٰهُ عَنْهُمْ وَرَضُوْا عَنْهُ ۗ ذٰلِكَ لِمَنْ خَشِيَ رَبَّهٗ ࣖ ٨
- jazāuhum
- جَزَآؤُهُمْ
- Their reward
- ʿinda
- عِندَ
- (is) with
- rabbihim
- رَبِّهِمْ
- their Lord
- jannātu
- جَنَّٰتُ
- Gardens
- ʿadnin
- عَدْنٍ
- (of) Eternity
- tajrī
- تَجْرِى
- flow
- min
- مِن
- from
- taḥtihā
- تَحْتِهَا
- underneath them
- l-anhāru
- ٱلْأَنْهَٰرُ
- the rivers
- khālidīna
- خَٰلِدِينَ
- will abide
- fīhā
- فِيهَآ
- therein
- abadan
- أَبَدًاۖ
- forever
- raḍiya
- رَّضِىَ
- (will be) pleased
- l-lahu
- ٱللَّهُ
- Allah
- ʿanhum
- عَنْهُمْ
- with them
- waraḍū
- وَرَضُوا۟
- and they (will be) pleased
- ʿanhu
- عَنْهُۚ
- with Him
- dhālika
- ذَٰلِكَ
- That
- liman
- لِمَنْ
- (is) for whoever
- khashiya
- خَشِىَ
- feared
- rabbahu
- رَبَّهُۥ
- his Lord
Their reward with their Lord will be gardens of perpetual residence beneath which rivers flow, wherein they will abide forever, Allah being pleased with them and they with Him. That is for whoever has feared his Lord. (QS. [98] Al-Bayyinah: 8)Tafsir
