وَمِنْهُمُ الَّذِيْنَ يُؤْذُوْنَ النَّبِيَّ وَيَقُوْلُوْنَ هُوَ اُذُنٌ ۗقُلْ اُذُنُ خَيْرٍ لَّكُمْ يُؤْمِنُ بِاللّٰهِ وَيُؤْمِنُ لِلْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ وَرَحْمَةٌ لِّلَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْا مِنْكُمْۗ وَالَّذِيْنَ يُؤْذُوْنَ رَسُوْلَ اللّٰهِ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ اَلِيْمٌ ٦١
- wamin'humu
- وَمِنْهُمُ
- And among them
- alladhīna
- ٱلَّذِينَ
- (are) those who
- yu'dhūna
- يُؤْذُونَ
- hurt
- l-nabiya
- ٱلنَّبِىَّ
- the Prophet
- wayaqūlūna
- وَيَقُولُونَ
- and they say
- huwa
- هُوَ
- "He is
- udhunun
- أُذُنٌۚ
- (all) ear"
- qul
- قُلْ
- Say
- udhunu
- أُذُنُ
- "An ear
- khayrin
- خَيْرٍ
- (of) goodness
- lakum
- لَّكُمْ
- for you
- yu'minu
- يُؤْمِنُ
- he believes
- bil-lahi
- بِٱللَّهِ
- in Allah
- wayu'minu
- وَيُؤْمِنُ
- and believes
- lil'mu'minīna
- لِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
- the believers
- waraḥmatun
- وَرَحْمَةٌ
- and (is) a mercy
- lilladhīna
- لِّلَّذِينَ
- to those who
- āmanū
- ءَامَنُوا۟
- believe
- minkum
- مِنكُمْۚ
- among you"
- wa-alladhīna
- وَٱلَّذِينَ
- And those who
- yu'dhūna
- يُؤْذُونَ
- hurt
- rasūla
- رَسُولَ
- (the) Messenger
- l-lahi
- ٱللَّهِ
- (of) Allah
- lahum
- لَهُمْ
- for them
- ʿadhābun
- عَذَابٌ
- (is) a punishment
- alīmun
- أَلِيمٌ
- painful
And among them are those who abuse the Prophet and say, "He is an ear." Say, "[It is] an ear of goodness for you that believes in Allah and believes the believers and [is] a mercy to those who believe among you." And those who abuse the Messenger of Allah – for them is a painful punishment. (QS. [9] At-Tawbah: 61)Tafsir
يَحْلِفُوْنَ بِاللّٰهِ لَكُمْ لِيُرْضُوْكُمْ وَاللّٰهُ وَرَسُوْلُهٗٓ اَحَقُّ اَنْ يُّرْضُوْهُ اِنْ كَانُوْا مُؤْمِنِيْنَ ٦٢
- yaḥlifūna
- يَحْلِفُونَ
- They swear
- bil-lahi
- بِٱللَّهِ
- by Allah
- lakum
- لَكُمْ
- to you
- liyur'ḍūkum
- لِيُرْضُوكُمْ
- to please you
- wal-lahu
- وَٱللَّهُ
- And Allah
- warasūluhu
- وَرَسُولُهُۥٓ
- and His Messenger
- aḥaqqu
- أَحَقُّ
- (have) more right
- an
- أَن
- that
- yur'ḍūhu
- يُرْضُوهُ
- they should please Him
- in
- إِن
- if
- kānū
- كَانُوا۟
- they are
- mu'minīna
- مُؤْمِنِينَ
- believers
They swear by Allah to you [Muslims] to satisfy you. But Allah and His Messenger are more worthy for them to satisfy, if they were to be believers. (QS. [9] At-Tawbah: 62)Tafsir
اَلَمْ يَعْلَمُوْٓا اَنَّهٗ مَنْ يُّحَادِدِ اللّٰهَ وَرَسُوْلَهٗ فَاَنَّ لَهٗ نَارَ جَهَنَّمَ خَالِدًا فِيْهَاۗ ذٰلِكَ الْخِزْيُ الْعَظِيْمُ ٦٣
- alam
- أَلَمْ
- Do not
- yaʿlamū
- يَعْلَمُوٓا۟
- they know
- annahu
- أَنَّهُۥ
- that he
- man
- مَن
- who
- yuḥādidi
- يُحَادِدِ
- opposes
- l-laha
- ٱللَّهَ
- Allah
- warasūlahu
- وَرَسُولَهُۥ
- and His Messenger
- fa-anna
- فَأَنَّ
- [then] that
- lahu
- لَهُۥ
- for him
- nāra
- نَارَ
- (is the) Fire
- jahannama
- جَهَنَّمَ
- (of) Hell
- khālidan
- خَٰلِدًا
- (will) abide forever
- fīhā
- فِيهَاۚ
- in it?
- dhālika
- ذَٰلِكَ
- That
- l-khiz'yu
- ٱلْخِزْىُ
- (is) the disgrace
- l-ʿaẓīmu
- ٱلْعَظِيمُ
- the great
Do they not know that whoever opposes Allah and His Messenger – that for him is the fire of Hell, wherein he will abide eternally? That is the great disgrace. (QS. [9] At-Tawbah: 63)Tafsir
يَحْذَرُ الْمُنٰفِقُوْنَ اَنْ تُنَزَّلَ عَلَيْهِمْ سُوْرَةٌ تُنَبِّئُهُمْ بِمَا فِيْ قُلُوْبِهِمْۗ قُلِ اسْتَهْزِءُوْاۚ اِنَّ اللّٰهَ مُخْرِجٌ مَّا تَحْذَرُوْنَ ٦٤
- yaḥdharu
- يَحْذَرُ
- Fear
- l-munāfiqūna
- ٱلْمُنَٰفِقُونَ
- the hypocrites
- an
- أَن
- lest
- tunazzala
- تُنَزَّلَ
- be revealed
- ʿalayhim
- عَلَيْهِمْ
- about them
- sūratun
- سُورَةٌ
- a Surah
- tunabbi-uhum
- تُنَبِّئُهُم
- informing them
- bimā
- بِمَا
- of what
- fī
- فِى
- (is) in
- qulūbihim
- قُلُوبِهِمْۚ
- their hearts
- quli
- قُلِ
- Say
- is'tahziū
- ٱسْتَهْزِءُوٓا۟
- "Mock
- inna
- إِنَّ
- indeed
- l-laha
- ٱللَّهَ
- Allah
- mukh'rijun
- مُخْرِجٌ
- (will) bring forth
- mā
- مَّا
- what
- taḥdharūna
- تَحْذَرُونَ
- you fear"
The hypocrites are apprehensive lest a Surah be revealed about them, informing them of what is in their hearts. Say, "Mock [as you wish]; indeed, Allah will expose that which you fear." (QS. [9] At-Tawbah: 64)Tafsir
وَلَىِٕنْ سَاَلْتَهُمْ لَيَقُوْلُنَّ اِنَّمَا كُنَّا نَخُوْضُ وَنَلْعَبُۗ قُلْ اَبِاللّٰهِ وَاٰيٰتِهٖ وَرَسُوْلِهٖ كُنْتُمْ تَسْتَهْزِءُوْنَ ٦٥
- wala-in
- وَلَئِن
- And if
- sa-altahum
- سَأَلْتَهُمْ
- you ask them
- layaqūlunna
- لَيَقُولُنَّ
- surely they will say
- innamā
- إِنَّمَا
- "Only
- kunnā
- كُنَّا
- we were
- nakhūḍu
- نَخُوضُ
- conversing
- wanalʿabu
- وَنَلْعَبُۚ
- and playing"
- qul
- قُلْ
- Say
- abil-lahi
- أَبِٱللَّهِ
- "Is it Allah
- waāyātihi
- وَءَايَٰتِهِۦ
- and His Verses
- warasūlihi
- وَرَسُولِهِۦ
- and His Messenger
- kuntum
- كُنتُمْ
- (that) you were
- tastahziūna
- تَسْتَهْزِءُونَ
- mocking?"
And if you ask them, they will surely say, "We were only conversing and playing." Say, "Is it Allah and His verses and His Messenger that you were mocking?" (QS. [9] At-Tawbah: 65)Tafsir
لَا تَعْتَذِرُوْا قَدْ كَفَرْتُمْ بَعْدَ اِيْمَانِكُمْ ۗ اِنْ نَّعْفُ عَنْ طَاۤىِٕفَةٍ مِّنْكُمْ نُعَذِّبْ طَاۤىِٕفَةً ۢ بِاَنَّهُمْ كَانُوْا مُجْرِمِيْنَ ࣖ ٦٦
- lā
- لَا
- (Do) not
- taʿtadhirū
- تَعْتَذِرُوا۟
- make excuse;
- qad
- قَدْ
- verily
- kafartum
- كَفَرْتُم
- you have disbelieved
- baʿda
- بَعْدَ
- after
- īmānikum
- إِيمَٰنِكُمْۚ
- your belief
- in
- إِن
- If
- naʿfu
- نَّعْفُ
- We pardon
- ʿan
- عَن
- [on]
- ṭāifatin
- طَآئِفَةٍ
- a party
- minkum
- مِّنكُمْ
- of you
- nuʿadhib
- نُعَذِّبْ
- We will punish
- ṭāifatan
- طَآئِفَةًۢ
- a party
- bi-annahum
- بِأَنَّهُمْ
- because they
- kānū
- كَانُوا۟
- were
- muj'rimīna
- مُجْرِمِينَ
- criminals
Make no excuse; you have disbelieved [i.e., rejected faith] after your belief. If We pardon one faction of you – We will punish another faction because they were criminals. (QS. [9] At-Tawbah: 66)Tafsir
اَلْمُنٰفِقُوْنَ وَالْمُنٰفِقٰتُ بَعْضُهُمْ مِّنْۢ بَعْضٍۘ يَأْمُرُوْنَ بِالْمُنْكَرِ وَيَنْهَوْنَ عَنِ الْمَعْرُوْفِ وَيَقْبِضُوْنَ اَيْدِيَهُمْۗ نَسُوا اللّٰهَ فَنَسِيَهُمْ ۗ اِنَّ الْمُنٰفِقِيْنَ هُمُ الْفٰسِقُوْنَ ٦٧
- al-munāfiqūna
- ٱلْمُنَٰفِقُونَ
- The hypocrite men
- wal-munāfiqātu
- وَٱلْمُنَٰفِقَٰتُ
- and the hypocrite women
- baʿḍuhum
- بَعْضُهُم
- some of them
- min
- مِّنۢ
- (are) of
- baʿḍin
- بَعْضٍۚ
- others
- yamurūna
- يَأْمُرُونَ
- They enjoin
- bil-munkari
- بِٱلْمُنكَرِ
- the wrong
- wayanhawna
- وَيَنْهَوْنَ
- and forbid
- ʿani
- عَنِ
- what
- l-maʿrūfi
- ٱلْمَعْرُوفِ
- (is) the right
- wayaqbiḍūna
- وَيَقْبِضُونَ
- and they close
- aydiyahum
- أَيْدِيَهُمْۚ
- their hands
- nasū
- نَسُوا۟
- They forget
- l-laha
- ٱللَّهَ
- Allah
- fanasiyahum
- فَنَسِيَهُمْۗ
- so He has forgotten them
- inna
- إِنَّ
- Indeed
- l-munāfiqīna
- ٱلْمُنَٰفِقِينَ
- the hypocrites
- humu
- هُمُ
- they (are)
- l-fāsiqūna
- ٱلْفَٰسِقُونَ
- the defiantly disobedient
The hypocrite men and hypocrite women are of one another. They enjoin what is wrong and forbid what is right and close their hands. They have forgotten Allah, so He has forgotten them [accordingly]. Indeed, the hypocrites – it is they who are the defiantly disobedient. (QS. [9] At-Tawbah: 67)Tafsir
وَعَدَ اللّٰهُ الْمُنٰفِقِيْنَ وَالْمُنٰفِقٰتِ وَالْكُفَّارَ نَارَ جَهَنَّمَ خٰلِدِيْنَ فِيْهَاۗ هِيَ حَسْبُهُمْ ۚوَلَعَنَهُمُ اللّٰهُ ۚوَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ مُّقِيْمٌۙ ٦٨
- waʿada
- وَعَدَ
- Allah has promised
- l-lahu
- ٱللَّهُ
- Allah has promised
- l-munāfiqīna
- ٱلْمُنَٰفِقِينَ
- the hypocrite men
- wal-munāfiqāti
- وَٱلْمُنَٰفِقَٰتِ
- and the hypocrite women
- wal-kufāra
- وَٱلْكُفَّارَ
- and the disbelievers
- nāra
- نَارَ
- Fire
- jahannama
- جَهَنَّمَ
- (of the) Hell
- khālidīna
- خَٰلِدِينَ
- they (will) abide forever
- fīhā
- فِيهَاۚ
- in it
- hiya
- هِىَ
- It (is)
- ḥasbuhum
- حَسْبُهُمْۚ
- sufficient for them
- walaʿanahumu
- وَلَعَنَهُمُ
- And Allah has cursed them
- l-lahu
- ٱللَّهُۖ
- And Allah has cursed them
- walahum
- وَلَهُمْ
- and for them
- ʿadhābun
- عَذَابٌ
- (is) a punishment
- muqīmun
- مُّقِيمٌ
- enduring
Allah has promised the hypocrite men and hypocrite women and the disbelievers the fire of Hell, wherein they will abide eternally. It is sufficient for them. And Allah has cursed them, and for them is an enduring punishment. (QS. [9] At-Tawbah: 68)Tafsir
كَالَّذِيْنَ مِنْ قَبْلِكُمْ كَانُوْٓا اَشَدَّ مِنْكُمْ قُوَّةً وَّاَكْثَرَ اَمْوَالًا وَّاَوْلَادًاۗ فَاسْتَمْتَعُوْا بِخَلَاقِهِمْ فَاسْتَمْتَعْتُمْ بِخَلَاقِكُمْ كَمَا اسْتَمْتَعَ الَّذِيْنَ مِنْ قَبْلِكُمْ بِخَلَاقِهِمْ وَخُضْتُمْ كَالَّذِيْ خَاضُوْاۗ اُولٰۤىِٕكَ حَبِطَتْ اَعْمَالُهُمْ فِى الدُّنْيَا وَالْاٰخِرَةِ ۚوَاُولٰۤىِٕكَ هُمُ الْخٰسِرُوْنَ ٦٩
- ka-alladhīna
- كَٱلَّذِينَ
- Like those
- min
- مِن
- before you
- qablikum
- قَبْلِكُمْ
- before you
- kānū
- كَانُوٓا۟
- they were
- ashadda
- أَشَدَّ
- mightier
- minkum
- مِنكُمْ
- than you
- quwwatan
- قُوَّةً
- (in) strength
- wa-akthara
- وَأَكْثَرَ
- and more abundant
- amwālan
- أَمْوَٰلًا
- (in) wealth
- wa-awlādan
- وَأَوْلَٰدًا
- and children
- fa-is'tamtaʿū
- فَٱسْتَمْتَعُوا۟
- So they enjoyed
- bikhalāqihim
- بِخَلَٰقِهِمْ
- their portion
- fa-is'tamtaʿtum
- فَٱسْتَمْتَعْتُم
- and you have enjoyed
- bikhalāqikum
- بِخَلَٰقِكُمْ
- your portion
- kamā
- كَمَا
- like
- is'tamtaʿa
- ٱسْتَمْتَعَ
- enjoyed
- alladhīna
- ٱلَّذِينَ
- those
- min
- مِن
- before you
- qablikum
- قَبْلِكُم
- before you
- bikhalāqihim
- بِخَلَٰقِهِمْ
- their portion
- wakhuḍ'tum
- وَخُضْتُمْ
- and you indulge (in idle talk)
- ka-alladhī
- كَٱلَّذِى
- like the one who
- khāḍū
- خَاضُوٓا۟ۚ
- indulges (in idle talk)
- ulāika
- أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ
- Those
- ḥabiṭat
- حَبِطَتْ
- worthless
- aʿmāluhum
- أَعْمَٰلُهُمْ
- (are) their deeds
- fī
- فِى
- in
- l-dun'yā
- ٱلدُّنْيَا
- the world
- wal-ākhirati
- وَٱلْءَاخِرَةِۖ
- and (in) the Hereafter
- wa-ulāika
- وَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ
- And those
- humu
- هُمُ
- they
- l-khāsirūna
- ٱلْخَٰسِرُونَ
- (are) the losers
[You disbelievers are] like those before you; they were stronger than you in power and more abundant in wealth and children. They enjoyed their portion [of worldly enjoyment], and you have enjoyed your portion as those before you enjoyed their portion, and you have engaged [in vanities] like that in which they engaged. [It is] those whose deeds have become worthless in this world and in the Hereafter, and it is they who are the losers. (QS. [9] At-Tawbah: 69)Tafsir
اَلَمْ يَأْتِهِمْ نَبَاُ الَّذِيْنَ مِنْ قَبْلِهِمْ قَوْمِ نُوْحٍ وَّعَادٍ وَّثَمُوْدَ ەۙ وَقَوْمِ اِبْرٰهِيْمَ وَاَصْحٰبِ مَدْيَنَ وَالْمُؤْتَفِكٰتِۗ اَتَتْهُمْ رُسُلُهُمْ بِالْبَيِّنٰتِۚ فَمَا كَانَ اللّٰهُ لِيَظْلِمَهُمْ وَلٰكِنْ كَانُوْٓا اَنْفُسَهُمْ يَظْلِمُوْنَ ٧٠
- alam
- أَلَمْ
- Has not
- yatihim
- يَأْتِهِمْ
- come to them
- naba-u
- نَبَأُ
- (the) news
- alladhīna
- ٱلَّذِينَ
- (of) those who
- min
- مِن
- (were) before them
- qablihim
- قَبْلِهِمْ
- (were) before them
- qawmi
- قَوْمِ
- (the) people
- nūḥin
- نُوحٍ
- (of) Nuh
- waʿādin
- وَعَادٍ
- and Aad
- wathamūda
- وَثَمُودَ
- and Thamud
- waqawmi
- وَقَوْمِ
- and (the) people
- ib'rāhīma
- إِبْرَٰهِيمَ
- (of) Ibrahim
- wa-aṣḥābi
- وَأَصْحَٰبِ
- and (the) companions
- madyana
- مَدْيَنَ
- (of) Madyan
- wal-mu'tafikāti
- وَٱلْمُؤْتَفِكَٰتِۚ
- and the towns overturned?
- atathum
- أَتَتْهُمْ
- Came to them
- rusuluhum
- رُسُلُهُم
- their Messengers
- bil-bayināti
- بِٱلْبَيِّنَٰتِۖ
- with clear proofs
- famā
- فَمَا
- And not
- kāna
- كَانَ
- was
- l-lahu
- ٱللَّهُ
- Allah
- liyaẓlimahum
- لِيَظْلِمَهُمْ
- to wrong them
- walākin
- وَلَٰكِن
- but
- kānū
- كَانُوٓا۟
- they were to
- anfusahum
- أَنفُسَهُمْ
- themselves
- yaẓlimūna
- يَظْلِمُونَ
- doing wrong
Has there not reached them the news of those before them – the people of Noah and [the tribes of] Aad and Thamud and the people of Abraham and the companions [i.e., dwellers] of Madyan and the towns overturned? Their messengers came to them with clear proofs. And Allah would never have wronged them, but they were wronging themselves. (QS. [9] At-Tawbah: 70)Tafsir
