وَلَا تَكُوْنُوْا كَالَّذِيْنَ قَالُوْا سَمِعْنَا وَهُمْ لَا يَسْمَعُوْنَۚ ٢١
- walā
- وَلَا
- And (do) not
- takūnū
- تَكُونُوا۟
- be
- ka-alladhīna
- كَٱلَّذِينَ
- like those who
- qālū
- قَالُوا۟
- say
- samiʿ'nā
- سَمِعْنَا
- "We heard"
- wahum
- وَهُمْ
- while they
- lā
- لَا
- do not
- yasmaʿūna
- يَسْمَعُونَ
- hear
And do not be like those who say, "We have heard," while they do not hear. (QS. [8] Al-Anfal: 21)Tafsir
۞ اِنَّ شَرَّ الدَّوَاۤبِّ عِنْدَ اللّٰهِ الصُّمُّ الْبُكْمُ الَّذِيْنَ لَا يَعْقِلُوْنَ ٢٢
- inna
- إِنَّ
- Indeed
- sharra
- شَرَّ
- worst
- l-dawābi
- ٱلدَّوَآبِّ
- (of) the living creatures
- ʿinda
- عِندَ
- near
- l-lahi
- ٱللَّهِ
- Allah
- l-ṣumu
- ٱلصُّمُّ
- (are) the deaf
- l-buk'mu
- ٱلْبُكْمُ
- the dumb -
- alladhīna
- ٱلَّذِينَ
- those who
- lā
- لَا
- (do) not
- yaʿqilūna
- يَعْقِلُونَ
- use their intellect
Indeed, the worst of living creatures in the sight of Allah are the deaf and dumb who do not use reason [i.e., the disbelievers]. (QS. [8] Al-Anfal: 22)Tafsir
وَلَوْ عَلِمَ اللّٰهُ فِيْهِمْ خَيْرًا لَّاَسْمَعَهُمْۗ وَلَوْ اَسْمَعَهُمْ لَتَوَلَّوْا وَّهُمْ مُّعْرِضُوْنَ ٢٣
- walaw
- وَلَوْ
- And if
- ʿalima
- عَلِمَ
- (had) known
- l-lahu
- ٱللَّهُ
- Allah
- fīhim
- فِيهِمْ
- in them
- khayran
- خَيْرًا
- any good
- la-asmaʿahum
- لَّأَسْمَعَهُمْۖ
- surely, He (would) have made them hear
- walaw
- وَلَوْ
- And if
- asmaʿahum
- أَسْمَعَهُمْ
- He had made them hear
- latawallaw
- لَتَوَلَّوا۟
- surely they would have turned away
- wahum
- وَّهُم
- while they
- muʿ'riḍūna
- مُّعْرِضُونَ
- (were) averse
Had Allah known any good in them, He would have made them hear. And if He had made them hear, they would [still] have turned away, while they were refusing. (QS. [8] Al-Anfal: 23)Tafsir
يٰٓاَيُّهَا الَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوا اسْتَجِيْبُوْا لِلّٰهِ وَلِلرَّسُوْلِ اِذَا دَعَاكُمْ لِمَا يُحْيِيْكُمْۚ وَاعْلَمُوْٓا اَنَّ اللّٰهَ يَحُوْلُ بَيْنَ الْمَرْءِ وَقَلْبِهٖ وَاَنَّهٗٓ اِلَيْهِ تُحْشَرُوْنَ ٢٤
- yāayyuhā
- يَٰٓأَيُّهَا
- O you!
- alladhīna
- ٱلَّذِينَ
- who!
- āmanū
- ءَامَنُوا۟
- believe!
- is'tajībū
- ٱسْتَجِيبُوا۟
- Respond
- lillahi
- لِلَّهِ
- to Allah
- walilrrasūli
- وَلِلرَّسُولِ
- and His Messenger
- idhā
- إِذَا
- when
- daʿākum
- دَعَاكُمْ
- he calls you
- limā
- لِمَا
- to what
- yuḥ'yīkum
- يُحْيِيكُمْۖ
- gives you life
- wa-iʿ'lamū
- وَٱعْلَمُوٓا۟
- And know
- anna
- أَنَّ
- that
- l-laha
- ٱللَّهَ
- Allah
- yaḥūlu
- يَحُولُ
- comes
- bayna
- بَيْنَ
- (in) between
- l-mari
- ٱلْمَرْءِ
- a man
- waqalbihi
- وَقَلْبِهِۦ
- and his heart
- wa-annahu
- وَأَنَّهُۥٓ
- and that
- ilayhi
- إِلَيْهِ
- to Him
- tuḥ'sharūna
- تُحْشَرُونَ
- you will be gathered
O you who have believed, respond to Allah and to the Messenger when he calls you to that which gives you life. And know that Allah intervenes between a man and his heart and that to Him you will be gathered. (QS. [8] Al-Anfal: 24)Tafsir
وَاتَّقُوْا فِتْنَةً لَّا تُصِيْبَنَّ الَّذِيْنَ ظَلَمُوْا مِنْكُمْ خَاۤصَّةً ۚوَاعْلَمُوْٓا اَنَّ اللّٰهَ شَدِيْدُ الْعِقَابِ ٢٥
- wa-ittaqū
- وَٱتَّقُوا۟
- And fear
- fit'natan
- فِتْنَةً
- a trial
- lā
- لَّا
- not
- tuṣībanna
- تُصِيبَنَّ
- which will afflict
- alladhīna
- ٱلَّذِينَ
- those who
- ẓalamū
- ظَلَمُوا۟
- do wrong
- minkum
- مِنكُمْ
- among you
- khāṣṣatan
- خَآصَّةًۖ
- exclusively
- wa-iʿ'lamū
- وَٱعْلَمُوٓا۟
- And know
- anna
- أَنَّ
- that
- l-laha
- ٱللَّهَ
- Allah
- shadīdu
- شَدِيدُ
- (is) severe
- l-ʿiqābi
- ٱلْعِقَابِ
- (in) the penalty
And fear a trial which will not strike those who have wronged among you exclusively, and know that Allah is severe in penalty. (QS. [8] Al-Anfal: 25)Tafsir
وَاذْكُرُوْٓا اِذْ اَنْتُمْ قَلِيْلٌ مُّسْتَضْعَفُوْنَ فِى الْاَرْضِ تَخَافُوْنَ اَنْ يَّتَخَطَّفَكُمُ النَّاسُ فَاٰوٰىكُمْ وَاَيَّدَكُمْ بِنَصْرِهٖ وَرَزَقَكُمْ مِّنَ الطَّيِّبٰتِ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَشْكُرُوْنَ ٢٦
- wa-udh'kurū
- وَٱذْكُرُوٓا۟
- And remember
- idh
- إِذْ
- when
- antum
- أَنتُمْ
- you
- qalīlun
- قَلِيلٌ
- (were) few
- mus'taḍʿafūna
- مُّسْتَضْعَفُونَ
- (and) deemed weak
- fī
- فِى
- in
- l-arḍi
- ٱلْأَرْضِ
- the earth
- takhāfūna
- تَخَافُونَ
- fearing
- an
- أَن
- that
- yatakhaṭṭafakumu
- يَتَخَطَّفَكُمُ
- might do away with you
- l-nāsu
- ٱلنَّاسُ
- the men
- faāwākum
- فَـَٔاوَىٰكُمْ
- then He sheltered you
- wa-ayyadakum
- وَأَيَّدَكُم
- and strengthened you
- binaṣrihi
- بِنَصْرِهِۦ
- with His help
- warazaqakum
- وَرَزَقَكُم
- and provided you
- mina
- مِّنَ
- of
- l-ṭayibāti
- ٱلطَّيِّبَٰتِ
- the good things
- laʿallakum
- لَعَلَّكُمْ
- so that you may
- tashkurūna
- تَشْكُرُونَ
- (be) thankful
And remember when you were few and oppressed in the land, fearing that people might abduct you, but He sheltered you, supported you with His victory, and provided you with good things – that you might be grateful. (QS. [8] Al-Anfal: 26)Tafsir
يٰٓاَيُّهَا الَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْا لَا تَخُوْنُوا اللّٰهَ وَالرَّسُوْلَ وَتَخُوْنُوْٓا اَمٰنٰتِكُمْ وَاَنْتُمْ تَعْلَمُوْنَ ٢٧
- yāayyuhā
- يَٰٓأَيُّهَا
- O you!
- alladhīna
- ٱلَّذِينَ
- who!
- āmanū
- ءَامَنُوا۟
- believe!
- lā
- لَا
- (Do) not
- takhūnū
- تَخُونُوا۟
- betray
- l-laha
- ٱللَّهَ
- Allah
- wal-rasūla
- وَٱلرَّسُولَ
- and the Messenger
- watakhūnū
- وَتَخُونُوٓا۟
- or betray
- amānātikum
- أَمَٰنَٰتِكُمْ
- your trusts
- wa-antum
- وَأَنتُمْ
- while you
- taʿlamūna
- تَعْلَمُونَ
- know
O you who have believed, do not betray Allah and the Messenger or betray your trusts while you know [the consequence]. (QS. [8] Al-Anfal: 27)Tafsir
وَاعْلَمُوْٓا اَنَّمَآ اَمْوَالُكُمْ وَاَوْلَادُكُمْ فِتْنَةٌ ۙوَّاَنَّ اللّٰهَ عِنْدَهٗٓ اَجْرٌ عَظِيْمٌ ࣖ ٢٨
- wa-iʿ'lamū
- وَٱعْلَمُوٓا۟
- And know
- annamā
- أَنَّمَآ
- that
- amwālukum
- أَمْوَٰلُكُمْ
- your wealth
- wa-awlādukum
- وَأَوْلَٰدُكُمْ
- and your children
- fit'natun
- فِتْنَةٌ
- (are) a trial
- wa-anna
- وَأَنَّ
- And that
- l-laha
- ٱللَّهَ
- Allah -
- ʿindahu
- عِندَهُۥٓ
- with Him
- ajrun
- أَجْرٌ
- (is) a reward
- ʿaẓīmun
- عَظِيمٌ
- great
And know that your properties and your children are but a trial and that Allah has with Him a great reward. (QS. [8] Al-Anfal: 28)Tafsir
يٰٓاَيُّهَا الَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْٓا اِنْ تَتَّقُوا اللّٰهَ يَجْعَلْ لَّكُمْ فُرْقَانًا وَّيُكَفِّرْ عَنْكُمْ سَيِّاٰتِكُمْ وَيَغْفِرْ لَكُمْۗ وَاللّٰهُ ذُو الْفَضْلِ الْعَظِيْمِ ٢٩
- yāayyuhā
- يَٰٓأَيُّهَا
- O you!
- alladhīna
- ٱلَّذِينَ
- who!
- āmanū
- ءَامَنُوٓا۟
- believe!
- in
- إِن
- If
- tattaqū
- تَتَّقُوا۟
- you fear
- l-laha
- ٱللَّهَ
- Allah
- yajʿal
- يَجْعَل
- He will grant
- lakum
- لَّكُمْ
- you
- fur'qānan
- فُرْقَانًا
- a criterion
- wayukaffir
- وَيُكَفِّرْ
- and will remove
- ʿankum
- عَنكُمْ
- from you
- sayyiātikum
- سَيِّـَٔاتِكُمْ
- your evil deeds
- wayaghfir
- وَيَغْفِرْ
- and forgive
- lakum
- لَكُمْۗ
- you
- wal-lahu
- وَٱللَّهُ
- And Allah
- dhū
- ذُو
- (is) the Possessor
- l-faḍli
- ٱلْفَضْلِ
- (of) Bounty
- l-ʿaẓīmi
- ٱلْعَظِيمِ
- the Great
O you who have believed, if you fear Allah, He will grant you a criterion and will remove from you your misdeeds and forgive you. And Allah is the possessor of great bounty. (QS. [8] Al-Anfal: 29)Tafsir
وَاِذْ يَمْكُرُ بِكَ الَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوْا لِيُثْبِتُوْكَ اَوْ يَقْتُلُوْكَ اَوْ يُخْرِجُوْكَۗ وَيَمْكُرُوْنَ وَيَمْكُرُ اللّٰهُ ۗوَاللّٰهُ خَيْرُ الْمَاكِرِيْنَ ٣٠
- wa-idh
- وَإِذْ
- And when
- yamkuru
- يَمْكُرُ
- plotted
- bika
- بِكَ
- against you
- alladhīna
- ٱلَّذِينَ
- those who
- kafarū
- كَفَرُوا۟
- disbelieved
- liyuth'bitūka
- لِيُثْبِتُوكَ
- that they restrain you
- aw
- أَوْ
- or
- yaqtulūka
- يَقْتُلُوكَ
- kill you
- aw
- أَوْ
- or
- yukh'rijūka
- يُخْرِجُوكَۚ
- drive you out
- wayamkurūna
- وَيَمْكُرُونَ
- And they were planning
- wayamkuru
- وَيَمْكُرُ
- and (also) was planning
- l-lahu
- ٱللَّهُۖ
- Allah
- wal-lahu
- وَٱللَّهُ
- And Allah
- khayru
- خَيْرُ
- is (the) Best
- l-mākirīna
- ٱلْمَٰكِرِينَ
- (of) the Planners
And [remember, O Muhammad], when those who disbelieved plotted against you to restrain you or kill you or evict you [from Makkah]. But they plan, and Allah plans. And Allah is the best of planners. (QS. [8] Al-Anfal: 30)Tafsir
