Al-Qur'an Surah Al-Jinn Verse 14

Al-Jinn [72]: 14 ~ English Qur'an Word By Word and Multi Tafseer

وَّاَنَّا مِنَّا الْمُسْلِمُوْنَ وَمِنَّا الْقَاسِطُوْنَۗ فَمَنْ اَسْلَمَ فَاُولٰۤىِٕكَ تَحَرَّوْا رَشَدًا (الجن : ٧٢)

wa-annā
وَأَنَّا
And that we
minnā
مِنَّا
among us
l-mus'limūna
ٱلْمُسْلِمُونَ
(are) Muslims
waminnā
وَمِنَّا
and among us
l-qāsiṭūna
ٱلْقَٰسِطُونَۖ
(are) unjust
faman
فَمَنْ
And whoever
aslama
أَسْلَمَ
submits
fa-ulāika
فَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ
then those
taḥarraw
تَحَرَّوْا۟
have sought
rashadan
رَشَدًا
(the) right path

Transliteration:

Wa annaa minnal muslimoona wa minnal qaasitoona faman aslama fa ulaaa'ika taharraw rashadaa (QS. al-Jinn:14)

English / Sahih Translation:

And among us are Muslims [in submission to Allah], and among us are the unjust. And whoever has become Muslim – those have sought out the right course. (QS. Al-Jinn, ayah 14)

and that some of us are Muslims, and some of us are unjust. Now, those who submitted to Islam have found out the right path,

"And some of us submit (to the will of God) while some of us are deviators (from the right course)".´ (It has also been revealed to the Prophet that) those who submit (to God´s commandments) are actually those who earnestly aim at the right way and find it out;

`And that we, from us (are) the Moslems/submitters , and from us (are) the deviators/ hardened , so who submitted/surrendered , so those searched/pursued correct/right guidance.`

Some of us are obedient while others are wrongdoers; it is the obedient who have found the right path,

Among us are those who are submitting, and among us are the compromisers. As for those who have submitted—it is they who pursue rectitude.

Tafsir jalalayn

And that among us some have submitted [to God], while some of us are unjust, tyrants -- on account of their disbelief. So whoever has submitted [to God], those are the ones who seek right guidance.

Tafseer Ibn Kathir

وَأَنَّا مِنَّا الْمُسْلِمُونَ وَمِنَّا الْقَاسِطُونَ

And of us some are Muslims, and of us some are Al-Qasitun.

meaning, `among us there is the Muslim and the Qasit.'

The Qasit is he who behaves unjustly with the truth and deviates from it. This is the opposite of the Muqsit, the one who is just.

فَمَنْ أَسْلَمَ فَأُوْلَيِكَ تَحَرَّوْا رَشَدًا




And whosoever has embraced Islam, then such have sought the right path.

meaning, they sought salvation for themselves.

وَأَمَّا الْقَاسِطُونَ فَكَانُوا لِجَهَنَّمَ حَطَبًا
