يُبَصَّرُوْنَهُمْۗ يَوَدُّ الْمُجْرِمُ لَوْ يَفْتَدِيْ مِنْ عَذَابِ يَوْمِىِٕذٍۢ بِبَنِيْهِۙ ١١
- yubaṣṣarūnahum
- يُبَصَّرُونَهُمْۚ
- They will be made to see each other
- yawaddu
- يَوَدُّ
- Would wish
- l-muj'rimu
- ٱلْمُجْرِمُ
- the criminal
- law
- لَوْ
- if
- yaftadī
- يَفْتَدِى
- he (could be) ransomed
- min
- مِنْ
- from
- ʿadhābi
- عَذَابِ
- (the) punishment
- yawmi-idhin
- يَوْمِئِذٍۭ
- (of) that Day
- bibanīhi
- بِبَنِيهِ
- by his children
They will be shown each other. The criminal will wish that he could be ransomed from the punishment of that Day by his children. (QS. [70] Al-Ma'arij: 11)Tafsir
12
وَصَاحِبَتِهٖ وَاَخِيْهِۙ ١٢
- waṣāḥibatihi
- وَصَٰحِبَتِهِۦ
- And his spouse
- wa-akhīhi
- وَأَخِيهِ
- and his brother
And his wife and his brother (QS. [70] Al-Ma'arij: 12)Tafsir
13
وَفَصِيْلَتِهِ الَّتِيْ تُـْٔوِيْهِۙ ١٣
- wafaṣīlatihi
- وَفَصِيلَتِهِ
- And his nearest kindred
- allatī
- ٱلَّتِى
- who
- tu'wīhi
- تُـْٔوِيهِ
- sheltered him
And his nearest kindred who shelter him. (QS. [70] Al-Ma'arij: 13)Tafsir
14
وَمَنْ فِى الْاَرْضِ جَمِيْعًاۙ ثُمَّ يُنْجِيْهِۙ ١٤
- waman
- وَمَن
- And whoever
- fī
- فِى
- (is) on
- l-arḍi
- ٱلْأَرْضِ
- the earth
- jamīʿan
- جَمِيعًا
- all
- thumma
- ثُمَّ
- then
- yunjīhi
- يُنجِيهِ
- it (could) save him
And whoever is on earth entirely [so] then it could save him. (QS. [70] Al-Ma'arij: 14)Tafsir
15
كَلَّاۗ اِنَّهَا لَظٰىۙ ١٥
- kallā
- كَلَّآۖ
- By no means!
- innahā
- إِنَّهَا
- Indeed it (is)
- laẓā
- لَظَىٰ
- surely a Flame of Hell
No! Indeed, it is the Flame [of Hell], (QS. [70] Al-Ma'arij: 15)Tafsir
16
نَزَّاعَةً لِّلشَّوٰىۚ ١٦
- nazzāʿatan
- نَزَّاعَةً
- A remover
- lilshawā
- لِّلشَّوَىٰ
- of the skin of the head
A remover of exteriors. (QS. [70] Al-Ma'arij: 16)Tafsir
17
تَدْعُوْا مَنْ اَدْبَرَ وَتَوَلّٰىۙ ١٧
- tadʿū
- تَدْعُوا۟
- Inviting
- man
- مَنْ
- (him) who
- adbara
- أَدْبَرَ
- turned his back
- watawallā
- وَتَوَلَّىٰ
- and went away
It invites he who turned his back [on truth] and went away [from obedience] (QS. [70] Al-Ma'arij: 17)Tafsir
18
وَجَمَعَ فَاَوْعٰى ١٨
- wajamaʿa
- وَجَمَعَ
- And collected
- fa-awʿā
- فَأَوْعَىٰٓ
- and hoarded
And collected [wealth] and hoarded. (QS. [70] Al-Ma'arij: 18)Tafsir
19
۞ اِنَّ الْاِنْسَانَ خُلِقَ هَلُوْعًاۙ ١٩
- inna
- إِنَّ
- Indeed
- l-insāna
- ٱلْإِنسَٰنَ
- the man
- khuliqa
- خُلِقَ
- was created
- halūʿan
- هَلُوعًا
- anxious -
Indeed, mankind was created anxious: (QS. [70] Al-Ma'arij: 19)Tafsir
20
اِذَا مَسَّهُ الشَّرُّ جَزُوْعًاۙ ٢٠
- idhā
- إِذَا
- When
- massahu
- مَسَّهُ
- touches him
- l-sharu
- ٱلشَّرُّ
- the evil
- jazūʿan
- جَزُوعًا
- distressed
When evil touches him, impatient, (QS. [70] Al-Ma'arij: 20)Tafsir
