Surah Al-An'am - Page: 7

(The Cattle)

61

وَهُوَ الْقَاهِرُ فَوْقَ عِبَادِهٖ وَيُرْسِلُ عَلَيْكُمْ حَفَظَةً ۗحَتّٰٓى اِذَا جَاۤءَ اَحَدَكُمُ الْمَوْتُ تَوَفَّتْهُ رُسُلُنَا وَهُمْ لَا يُفَرِّطُوْنَ ٦١

wahuwa
وَهُوَ
And He
l-qāhiru
ٱلْقَاهِرُ
(is) the Subjugator
fawqa
فَوْقَ
over
ʿibādihi
عِبَادِهِۦۖ
His slaves
wayur'silu
وَيُرْسِلُ
and He sends
ʿalaykum
عَلَيْكُمْ
over you
ḥafaẓatan
حَفَظَةً
guardians
ḥattā
حَتَّىٰٓ
until
idhā
إِذَا
when
jāa
جَآءَ
comes
aḥadakumu
أَحَدَكُمُ
(to) anyone of you
l-mawtu
ٱلْمَوْتُ
the death
tawaffathu
تَوَفَّتْهُ
take him
rusulunā
رُسُلُنَا
Our messengers
wahum
وَهُمْ
and they
لَا
(do) not
yufarriṭūna
يُفَرِّطُونَ
fail
And He is the subjugator over His servants, and He sends over you guardian-angels until, when death comes to one of you, Our messengers [i.e., angels of death] take him, and they do not fail [in their duties]. (QS. [6] Al-An'am: 61)
Tafsir
62

ثُمَّ رُدُّوْٓا اِلَى اللّٰهِ مَوْلٰىهُمُ الْحَقِّۗ اَلَا لَهُ الْحُكْمُ وَهُوَ اَسْرَعُ الْحَاسِبِيْنَ ٦٢

thumma
ثُمَّ
Then
ruddū
رُدُّوٓا۟
they are returned
ilā
إِلَى
to
l-lahi
ٱللَّهِ
Allah
mawlāhumu
مَوْلَىٰهُمُ
their Protector -
l-ḥaqi
ٱلْحَقِّۚ
[the] True
alā
أَلَا
Unquestionably
lahu
لَهُ
for Him
l-ḥuk'mu
ٱلْحُكْمُ
(is) the judgment?
wahuwa
وَهُوَ
And He
asraʿu
أَسْرَعُ
(is) swiftest
l-ḥāsibīna
ٱلْحَٰسِبِينَ
(in taking) account
Then they [i.e., His servants] are returned to Allah, their true Lord. Unquestionably, His is the judgement, and He is the swiftest of accountants. (QS. [6] Al-An'am: 62)
Tafsir
63

قُلْ مَنْ يُّنَجِّيْكُمْ مِّنْ ظُلُمٰتِ الْبَرِّ وَالْبَحْرِ تَدْعُوْنَهٗ تَضَرُّعًا وَّخُفْيَةً ۚ لَىِٕنْ اَنْجٰىنَا مِنْ هٰذِهٖ لَنَكُوْنَنَّ مِنَ الشّٰكِرِيْنَ ٦٣

قُلْ
Say
man
مَن
"Who
yunajjīkum
يُنَجِّيكُم
saves you
min
مِّن
from
ẓulumāti
ظُلُمَٰتِ
darkness[es]
l-bari
ٱلْبَرِّ
(of) the land
wal-baḥri
وَٱلْبَحْرِ
and the sea
tadʿūnahu
تَدْعُونَهُۥ
you call Him
taḍarruʿan
تَضَرُّعًا
humbly
wakhuf'yatan
وَخُفْيَةً
and secretly
la-in
لَّئِنْ
"If
anjānā
أَنجَىٰنَا
He saves us
min
مِنْ
from
hādhihi
هَٰذِهِۦ
this
lanakūnanna
لَنَكُونَنَّ
surely we will be
mina
مِنَ
from
l-shākirīna
ٱلشَّٰكِرِينَ
the grateful ones"
Say, "Who rescues you from the darknesses of the land and sea [when] you call upon Him imploring [aloud] and privately, 'If He should save us from this [crisis], we will surely be among the thankful.'" (QS. [6] Al-An'am: 63)
Tafsir
64

قُلِ اللّٰهُ يُنَجِّيْكُمْ مِّنْهَا وَمِنْ كُلِّ كَرْبٍ ثُمَّ اَنْتُمْ تُشْرِكُوْنَ ٦٤

quli
قُلِ
Say
l-lahu
ٱللَّهُ
"Allah
yunajjīkum
يُنَجِّيكُم
saves you
min'hā
مِّنْهَا
from it
wamin
وَمِن
and from
kulli
كُلِّ
every
karbin
كَرْبٍ
distress
thumma
ثُمَّ
yet
antum
أَنتُمْ
you
tush'rikūna
تُشْرِكُونَ
associate partners (with Allah)"
Say, "It is Allah who saves you from it and from every distress; then you [still] associate others with Him." (QS. [6] Al-An'am: 64)
Tafsir
65

قُلْ هُوَ الْقَادِرُ عَلٰٓى اَنْ يَّبْعَثَ عَلَيْكُمْ عَذَابًا مِّنْ فَوْقِكُمْ اَوْ مِنْ تَحْتِ اَرْجُلِكُمْ اَوْ يَلْبِسَكُمْ شِيَعًا وَّيُذِيْقَ بَعْضَكُمْ بَأْسَ بَعْضٍۗ اُنْظُرْ كَيْفَ نُصَرِّفُ الْاٰيٰتِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَفْقَهُوْنَ ٦٥

Say

هُوَ
"He
l-qādiru
ٱلْقَادِرُ
(is) All Able
ʿalā
عَلَىٰٓ
[on]
an
أَن
to
yabʿatha
يَبْعَثَ
send
ʿalaykum
عَلَيْكُمْ
upon you
ʿadhāban
عَذَابًا
punishment
min
مِّن
from
fawqikum
فَوْقِكُمْ
above you
aw
أَوْ
or
min
مِن
from
taḥti
تَحْتِ
beneath
arjulikum
أَرْجُلِكُمْ
your feet
aw
أَوْ
or
yalbisakum
يَلْبِسَكُمْ
(to) confuse you
shiyaʿan
شِيَعًا
(into) sects
wayudhīqa
وَيُذِيقَ
and make (you) taste -
baʿḍakum
بَعْضَكُم
some of you
basa
بَأْسَ
violence
baʿḍin
بَعْضٍۗ
(of) others"
unẓur
ٱنظُرْ
See
kayfa
كَيْفَ
how
nuṣarrifu
نُصَرِّفُ
We explain
l-āyāti
ٱلْءَايَٰتِ
the Signs
laʿallahum
لَعَلَّهُمْ
so that they may
yafqahūna
يَفْقَهُونَ
understand
Say, "He is the [one] Able to send upon you affliction from above you or from beneath your feet or to confuse you [so you become] sects and make you taste the violence of one another." Look how We diversify the signs that they might understand. (QS. [6] Al-An'am: 65)
Tafsir
66

وَكَذَّبَ بِهٖ قَوْمُكَ وَهُوَ الْحَقُّۗ قُلْ لَّسْتُ عَلَيْكُمْ بِوَكِيْلٍ ۗ ٦٦

wakadhaba
وَكَذَّبَ
But denied
bihi
بِهِۦ
it -
qawmuka
قَوْمُكَ
your people
wahuwa
وَهُوَ
while it
l-ḥaqu
ٱلْحَقُّۚ
(is) the truth
qul
قُل
Say
lastu
لَّسْتُ
"I am not
ʿalaykum
عَلَيْكُم
over you
biwakīlin
بِوَكِيلٍ
a manager"
But your people have denied it while it is the truth. Say, "I am not over you a manager [i.e., authority]." (QS. [6] Al-An'am: 66)
Tafsir
67

لِكُلِّ نَبَاٍ مُّسْتَقَرٌّ وَّسَوْفَ تَعْلَمُوْنَ ٦٧

likulli
لِّكُلِّ
For every
naba-in
نَبَإٍ
news
mus'taqarrun
مُّسْتَقَرٌّۚ
(is) a fixed time
wasawfa
وَسَوْفَ
and soon
taʿlamūna
تَعْلَمُونَ
you will know
For every news [i.e., happening] is a finality; and you are going to know. (QS. [6] Al-An'am: 67)
Tafsir
68

وَاِذَا رَاَيْتَ الَّذِيْنَ يَخُوْضُوْنَ فِيْٓ اٰيٰتِنَا فَاَعْرِضْ عَنْهُمْ حَتّٰى يَخُوْضُوْا فِيْ حَدِيْثٍ غَيْرِهٖۗ وَاِمَّا يُنْسِيَنَّكَ الشَّيْطٰنُ فَلَا تَقْعُدْ بَعْدَ الذِّكْرٰى مَعَ الْقَوْمِ الظّٰلِمِيْنَ ٦٨

wa-idhā
وَإِذَا
And when
ra-ayta
رَأَيْتَ
you see
alladhīna
ٱلَّذِينَ
those who
yakhūḍūna
يَخُوضُونَ
engage (in vain talks)
فِىٓ
about
āyātinā
ءَايَٰتِنَا
Our Verses
fa-aʿriḍ
فَأَعْرِضْ
then turn away
ʿanhum
عَنْهُمْ
from them
ḥattā
حَتَّىٰ
until
yakhūḍū
يَخُوضُوا۟
they engage
فِى
in
ḥadīthin
حَدِيثٍ
a talk
ghayrihi
غَيْرِهِۦۚ
other than it
wa-immā
وَإِمَّا
And if
yunsiyannaka
يُنسِيَنَّكَ
causes you to forget
l-shayṭānu
ٱلشَّيْطَٰنُ
the Shaitaan
falā
فَلَا
then (do) not
taqʿud
تَقْعُدْ
sit
baʿda
بَعْدَ
after
l-dhik'rā
ٱلذِّكْرَىٰ
the reminder
maʿa
مَعَ
with
l-qawmi
ٱلْقَوْمِ
the people -
l-ẓālimīna
ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ
the wrongdoers
And when you see those who engage in [offensive] discourse concerning Our verses, then turn away from them until they enter into another conversation. And if Satan should cause you to forget, then do not remain after the reminder with the wrongdoing people. (QS. [6] Al-An'am: 68)
Tafsir
69

وَمَا عَلَى الَّذِيْنَ يَتَّقُوْنَ مِنْ حِسَابِهِمْ مِّنْ شَيْءٍ وَّلٰكِنْ ذِكْرٰى لَعَلَّهُمْ يَتَّقُوْنَ ٦٩

wamā
وَمَا
And not
ʿalā
عَلَى
(is) on
alladhīna
ٱلَّذِينَ
those who
yattaqūna
يَتَّقُونَ
fear (Allah)
min
مِنْ
of
ḥisābihim
حِسَابِهِم
their account
min
مِّن
[of]
shayin
شَىْءٍ
anything;
walākin
وَلَٰكِن
but
dhik'rā
ذِكْرَىٰ
(for) reminder
laʿallahum
لَعَلَّهُمْ
so that they may
yattaqūna
يَتَّقُونَ
fear (Allah)
And those who fear Allah are not held accountable for them [i.e., the disbelievers] at all, but [only for] a reminder – that perhaps they will fear Him. (QS. [6] Al-An'am: 69)
Tafsir
70

وَذَرِ الَّذِيْنَ اتَّخَذُوْا دِيْنَهُمْ لَعِبًا وَّلَهْوًا وَّغَرَّتْهُمُ الْحَيٰوةُ الدُّنْيَا وَذَكِّرْ بِهٖٓ اَنْ تُبْسَلَ نَفْسٌۢ بِمَا كَسَبَتْۖ لَيْسَ لَهَا مِنْ دُوْنِ اللّٰهِ وَلِيٌّ وَّلَا شَفِيْعٌ ۚوَاِنْ تَعْدِلْ كُلَّ عَدْلٍ لَّا يُؤْخَذْ مِنْهَاۗ اُولٰۤىِٕكَ الَّذِيْنَ اُبْسِلُوْا بِمَا كَسَبُوْا لَهُمْ شَرَابٌ مِّنْ حَمِيْمٍ وَّعَذَابٌ اَلِيْمٌ ۢبِمَا كَانُوْا يَكْفُرُوْنَ ࣖ ٧٠

wadhari
وَذَرِ
And leave
alladhīna
ٱلَّذِينَ
those who
ittakhadhū
ٱتَّخَذُوا۟
take
dīnahum
دِينَهُمْ
their religion
laʿiban
لَعِبًا
(as) a play
walahwan
وَلَهْوًا
and amusement
wagharrathumu
وَغَرَّتْهُمُ
and deluded them
l-ḥayatu
ٱلْحَيَوٰةُ
the life
l-dun'yā
ٱلدُّنْيَاۚ
(of) the world
wadhakkir
وَذَكِّرْ
But remind
bihi
بِهِۦٓ
with it
an
أَن
lest
tub'sala
تُبْسَلَ
is given up to destruction
nafsun
نَفْسٌۢ
a soul
bimā
بِمَا
for what
kasabat
كَسَبَتْ
it (has) earned
laysa
لَيْسَ
not
lahā
لَهَا
(is) for it
min
مِن
from
dūni
دُونِ
besides
l-lahi
ٱللَّهِ
Allah
waliyyun
وَلِىٌّ
any protector
walā
وَلَا
and not
shafīʿun
شَفِيعٌ
any intercessor
wa-in
وَإِن
And if
taʿdil
تَعْدِلْ
it offers ransom
kulla
كُلَّ
every
ʿadlin
عَدْلٍ
ransom
لَّا
not
yu'khadh
يُؤْخَذْ
will it be taken
min'hā
مِنْهَآۗ
from it
ulāika
أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ
Those
alladhīna
ٱلَّذِينَ
(are) ones who
ub'silū
أُبْسِلُوا۟
are given to destruction
bimā
بِمَا
for what
kasabū
كَسَبُوا۟ۖ
they earned
lahum
لَهُمْ
For them
sharābun
شَرَابٌ
(will be) a drink
min
مِّنْ
of
ḥamīmin
حَمِيمٍ
boiling water
waʿadhābun
وَعَذَابٌ
and a punishment
alīmun
أَلِيمٌۢ
painful
bimā
بِمَا
because
kānū
كَانُوا۟
they used to
yakfurūna
يَكْفُرُونَ
disbelieve
And leave those who take their religion as amusement and diversion and whom the worldly life has deluded. But remind with it [i.e., the Quran], lest a soul be given up to destruction for what it earned; it will have other than Allah no protector and no intercessor. And if it should offer every compensation, it would not be taken from it [i.e., that soul]. Those are the ones who are given to destruction for what they have earned. For them will be a drink of scalding water and a painful punishment because they used to disbelieve. (QS. [6] Al-An'am: 70)
