يٰقَوْمِ ادْخُلُوا الْاَرْضَ الْمُقَدَّسَةَ الَّتِيْ كَتَبَ اللّٰهُ لَكُمْ وَلَا تَرْتَدُّوْا عَلٰٓى اَدْبَارِكُمْ فَتَنْقَلِبُوْا خٰسِرِيْنَ ٢١
- yāqawmi
- يَٰقَوْمِ
- "O my people!
- ud'khulū
- ٱدْخُلُوا۟
- Enter
- l-arḍa
- ٱلْأَرْضَ
- the land
- l-muqadasata
- ٱلْمُقَدَّسَةَ
- the Holy
- allatī
- ٱلَّتِى
- which
- kataba
- كَتَبَ
- (has been) ordained
- l-lahu
- ٱللَّهُ
- (by) Allah
- lakum
- لَكُمْ
- for you
- walā
- وَلَا
- and (do) not
- tartaddū
- تَرْتَدُّوا۟
- turn
- ʿalā
- عَلَىٰٓ
- on
- adbārikum
- أَدْبَارِكُمْ
- your backs
- fatanqalibū
- فَتَنقَلِبُوا۟
- then you will turn back
- khāsirīna
- خَٰسِرِينَ
- (as) losers"
O my people, enter the blessed land [i.e., Palestine] which Allah has assigned to you and do not turn back [from fighting in Allah's cause] and [thus] become losers." (QS. [5] Al-Ma'idah: 21)Tafsir
قَالُوْا يٰمُوْسٰٓى اِنَّ فِيْهَا قَوْمًا جَبَّارِيْنَۖ وَاِنَّا لَنْ نَّدْخُلَهَا حَتّٰى يَخْرُجُوْا مِنْهَاۚ فَاِنْ يَّخْرُجُوْا مِنْهَا فَاِنَّا دٰخِلُوْنَ ٢٢
- qālū
- قَالُوا۟
- They said
- yāmūsā
- يَٰمُوسَىٰٓ
- "O Musa!
- inna
- إِنَّ
- Indeed
- fīhā
- فِيهَا
- in it
- qawman
- قَوْمًا
- (are) people
- jabbārīna
- جَبَّارِينَ
- (of) tyrannical strength
- wa-innā
- وَإِنَّا
- and indeed we
- lan
- لَن
- never
- nadkhulahā
- نَّدْخُلَهَا
- will enter it
- ḥattā
- حَتَّىٰ
- until
- yakhrujū
- يَخْرُجُوا۟
- they leave
- min'hā
- مِنْهَا
- from it
- fa-in
- فَإِن
- and if
- yakhrujū
- يَخْرُجُوا۟
- they leave
- min'hā
- مِنْهَا
- [from] it
- fa-innā
- فَإِنَّا
- then certainly we (will)
- dākhilūna
- دَٰخِلُونَ
- enter (it)"
They said, "O Moses, indeed within it is a people of tyrannical strength, and indeed, we will never enter it until they leave it; but if they leave it, then we will enter." (QS. [5] Al-Ma'idah: 22)Tafsir
قَالَ رَجُلَانِ مِنَ الَّذِيْنَ يَخَافُوْنَ اَنْعَمَ اللّٰهُ عَلَيْهِمَا ادْخُلُوْا عَلَيْهِمُ الْبَابَۚ فَاِذَا دَخَلْتُمُوْهُ فَاِنَّكُمْ غٰلِبُوْنَ ەۙ وَعَلَى اللّٰهِ فَتَوَكَّلُوْٓا اِنْ كُنْتُمْ مُّؤْمِنِيْنَ ٢٣
- qāla
- قَالَ
- Said
- rajulāni
- رَجُلَانِ
- two men
- mina
- مِنَ
- from
- alladhīna
- ٱلَّذِينَ
- those who
- yakhāfūna
- يَخَافُونَ
- feared (Allah)
- anʿama
- أَنْعَمَ
- (had) favored
- l-lahu
- ٱللَّهُ
- Allah
- ʿalayhimā
- عَلَيْهِمَا
- [on] both of them
- ud'khulū
- ٱدْخُلُوا۟
- "Enter
- ʿalayhimu
- عَلَيْهِمُ
- upon them
- l-bāba
- ٱلْبَابَ
- (through) the gate
- fa-idhā
- فَإِذَا
- then when
- dakhaltumūhu
- دَخَلْتُمُوهُ
- you have entered it
- fa-innakum
- فَإِنَّكُمْ
- then indeed, you (will be)
- ghālibūna
- غَٰلِبُونَۚ
- victorious
- waʿalā
- وَعَلَى
- And upon
- l-lahi
- ٱللَّهِ
- Allah
- fatawakkalū
- فَتَوَكَّلُوٓا۟
- then put your trust
- in
- إِن
- if
- kuntum
- كُنتُم
- you are
- mu'minīna
- مُّؤْمِنِينَ
- believers
Said two men from those who feared [to disobey] upon whom Allah had bestowed favor, "Enter upon them through the gate, for when you have entered it, you will be predominant. And upon Allah rely, if you should be believers." (QS. [5] Al-Ma'idah: 23)Tafsir
قَالُوْا يٰمُوْسٰٓى اِنَّا لَنْ نَّدْخُلَهَآ اَبَدًا مَّا دَامُوْا فِيْهَا ۖفَاذْهَبْ اَنْتَ وَرَبُّكَ فَقَاتِلَآ اِنَّا هٰهُنَا قٰعِدُوْنَ ٢٤
- qālū
- قَالُوا۟
- They said
- yāmūsā
- يَٰمُوسَىٰٓ
- O Musa!
- innā
- إِنَّا
- Indeed, we
- lan
- لَن
- never
- nadkhulahā
- نَّدْخُلَهَآ
- will enter it
- abadan
- أَبَدًا
- ever
- mā
- مَّا
- for
- dāmū
- دَامُوا۟
- as long as they are
- fīhā
- فِيهَاۖ
- in it
- fa-idh'hab
- فَٱذْهَبْ
- So go
- anta
- أَنتَ
- you
- warabbuka
- وَرَبُّكَ
- and your Lord
- faqātilā
- فَقَٰتِلَآ
- and you both fight
- innā
- إِنَّا
- Indeed, we
- hāhunā
- هَٰهُنَا
- are [here]
- qāʿidūna
- قَٰعِدُونَ
- sitting"
They said, "O Moses, indeed we will not enter it, ever, as long as they are within it; so go, you and your Lord, and fight. Indeed, we are remaining right here." (QS. [5] Al-Ma'idah: 24)Tafsir
قَالَ رَبِّ اِنِّيْ لَآ اَمْلِكُ اِلَّا نَفْسِيْ وَاَخِيْ فَافْرُقْ بَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَ الْقَوْمِ الْفٰسِقِيْنَ ٢٥
- qāla
- قَالَ
- He said
- rabbi
- رَبِّ
- "O my Lord!
- innī
- إِنِّى
- Indeed, I
- lā
- لَآ
- (do) not
- amliku
- أَمْلِكُ
- (have) power
- illā
- إِلَّا
- except
- nafsī
- نَفْسِى
- (over) myself
- wa-akhī
- وَأَخِىۖ
- and my brother
- fa-uf'ruq
- فَٱفْرُقْ
- so (make a) separation
- baynanā
- بَيْنَنَا
- between us
- wabayna
- وَبَيْنَ
- and between
- l-qawmi
- ٱلْقَوْمِ
- the people"
- l-fāsiqīna
- ٱلْفَٰسِقِينَ
- (the) defiantly disobedient"
[Moses] said, "My Lord, indeed I do not possess [i.e., control] except myself and my brother, so part us from the defiantly disobedient people." (QS. [5] Al-Ma'idah: 25)Tafsir
قَالَ فَاِنَّهَا مُحَرَّمَةٌ عَلَيْهِمْ اَرْبَعِيْنَ سَنَةً ۚيَتِيْهُوْنَ فِى الْاَرْضِۗ فَلَا تَأْسَ عَلَى الْقَوْمِ الْفٰسِقِيْنَ ࣖ ٢٦
- qāla
- قَالَ
- (Allah) said
- fa-innahā
- فَإِنَّهَا
- "Then indeed it
- muḥarramatun
- مُحَرَّمَةٌ
- (will be) forbidden
- ʿalayhim
- عَلَيْهِمْۛ
- to them
- arbaʿīna
- أَرْبَعِينَ
- (for) forty
- sanatan
- سَنَةًۛ
- years
- yatīhūna
- يَتِيهُونَ
- they will wander
- fī
- فِى
- in
- l-arḍi
- ٱلْأَرْضِۚ
- the earth
- falā
- فَلَا
- So (do) not
- tasa
- تَأْسَ
- grieve
- ʿalā
- عَلَى
- over
- l-qawmi
- ٱلْقَوْمِ
- the people"
- l-fāsiqīna
- ٱلْفَٰسِقِينَ
- the defiantly disobedient"
[Allah] said, "Then indeed, it is forbidden to them for forty years [in which] they will wander throughout the land. So do not grieve over the defiantly disobedient people." (QS. [5] Al-Ma'idah: 26)Tafsir
۞ وَاتْلُ عَلَيْهِمْ نَبَاَ ابْنَيْ اٰدَمَ بِالْحَقِّۘ اِذْ قَرَّبَا قُرْبَانًا فَتُقُبِّلَ مِنْ اَحَدِهِمَا وَلَمْ يُتَقَبَّلْ مِنَ الْاٰخَرِۗ قَالَ لَاَقْتُلَنَّكَ ۗ قَالَ اِنَّمَا يَتَقَبَّلُ اللّٰهُ مِنَ الْمُتَّقِيْنَ ٢٧
- wa-ut'lu
- وَٱتْلُ
- And recite
- ʿalayhim
- عَلَيْهِمْ
- to them
- naba-a
- نَبَأَ
- the story
- ib'nay
- ٱبْنَىْ
- (of) two sons
- ādama
- ءَادَمَ
- (of) Adam
- bil-ḥaqi
- بِٱلْحَقِّ
- in truth
- idh
- إِذْ
- when
- qarrabā
- قَرَّبَا
- both offered
- qur'bānan
- قُرْبَانًا
- a sacrifice
- fatuqubbila
- فَتُقُبِّلَ
- and it was accepted
- min
- مِنْ
- from
- aḥadihimā
- أَحَدِهِمَا
- one of them
- walam
- وَلَمْ
- and not
- yutaqabbal
- يُتَقَبَّلْ
- was accepted
- mina
- مِنَ
- from
- l-ākhari
- ٱلْءَاخَرِ
- the other
- qāla
- قَالَ
- Said (the latter)
- la-aqtulannaka
- لَأَقْتُلَنَّكَۖ
- "Surely I will kill you"
- qāla
- قَالَ
- Said (the former)
- innamā
- إِنَّمَا
- "Only
- yataqabbalu
- يَتَقَبَّلُ
- accepts
- l-lahu
- ٱللَّهُ
- (does) Allah
- mina
- مِنَ
- from
- l-mutaqīna
- ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ
- the God fearing
And recite to them the story of Adam's two sons, in truth, when they both made an offering [to Allah], and it was accepted from one of them but was not accepted from the other. Said [the latter], "I will surely kill you." Said [the former], "Indeed, Allah only accepts from the righteous [who fear Him]. (QS. [5] Al-Ma'idah: 27)Tafsir
لَىِٕنْۢ بَسَطْتَّ اِلَيَّ يَدَكَ لِتَقْتُلَنِيْ مَآ اَنَا۠ بِبَاسِطٍ يَّدِيَ اِلَيْكَ لِاَقْتُلَكَۚ اِنِّيْٓ اَخَافُ اللّٰهَ رَبَّ الْعٰلَمِيْنَ ٢٨
- la-in
- لَئِنۢ
- If
- basaṭta
- بَسَطتَ
- you stretch
- ilayya
- إِلَىَّ
- towards me
- yadaka
- يَدَكَ
- your hand
- litaqtulanī
- لِتَقْتُلَنِى
- to kill me
- mā
- مَآ
- not
- anā
- أَنَا۠
- will I
- bibāsiṭin
- بِبَاسِطٍ
- stretch
- yadiya
- يَدِىَ
- my hand
- ilayka
- إِلَيْكَ
- towards you
- li-aqtulaka
- لِأَقْتُلَكَۖ
- to kill you
- innī
- إِنِّىٓ
- indeed I
- akhāfu
- أَخَافُ
- fear
- l-laha
- ٱللَّهَ
- Allah
- rabba
- رَبَّ
- (the) Lord
- l-ʿālamīna
- ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ
- (of) the worlds"
If you should raise your hand toward me to kill me – I shall not raise my hand toward you to kill you. Indeed, I fear Allah, Lord of the worlds. (QS. [5] Al-Ma'idah: 28)Tafsir
اِنِّيْٓ اُرِيْدُ اَنْ تَبُوْۤاَ بِاِثْمِيْ وَاِثْمِكَ فَتَكُوْنَ مِنْ اَصْحٰبِ النَّارِۚ وَذٰلِكَ جَزَاۤؤُا الظّٰلِمِيْنَۚ ٢٩
- innī
- إِنِّىٓ
- "Indeed I
- urīdu
- أُرِيدُ
- wish
- an
- أَن
- that
- tabūa
- تَبُوٓأَ
- you be laden
- bi-ith'mī
- بِإِثْمِى
- with my sin
- wa-ith'mika
- وَإِثْمِكَ
- and your sin
- fatakūna
- فَتَكُونَ
- so you will be
- min
- مِنْ
- among
- aṣḥābi
- أَصْحَٰبِ
- (the) companions
- l-nāri
- ٱلنَّارِۚ
- (of) the Fire
- wadhālika
- وَذَٰلِكَ
- and that
- jazāu
- جَزَٰٓؤُا۟
- (is the) recompense
- l-ẓālimīna
- ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ
- (of) the wrong-doers"
Indeed, I want you to obtain [thereby] my sin and your sin so you will be among the companions of the Fire. And that is the recompense of wrongdoers." (QS. [5] Al-Ma'idah: 29)Tafsir
فَطَوَّعَتْ لَهٗ نَفْسُهٗ قَتْلَ اَخِيْهِ فَقَتَلَهٗ فَاَصْبَحَ مِنَ الْخٰسِرِيْنَ ٣٠
- faṭawwaʿat
- فَطَوَّعَتْ
- Then prompted
- lahu
- لَهُۥ
- to him
- nafsuhu
- نَفْسُهُۥ
- his soul
- qatla
- قَتْلَ
- (to) kill
- akhīhi
- أَخِيهِ
- his brother
- faqatalahu
- فَقَتَلَهُۥ
- so he killed him
- fa-aṣbaḥa
- فَأَصْبَحَ
- and became
- mina
- مِنَ
- of
- l-khāsirīna
- ٱلْخَٰسِرِينَ
- the losers
And his soul permitted to him the murder of his brother, so he killed him and became among the losers. (QS. [5] Al-Ma'idah: 30)Tafsir
