Surah Al-Jathiyah - Page: 2

(The Crouching)

11

هٰذَا هُدًىۚ وَالَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوْا بِاٰيٰتِ رَبِّهِمْ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ مِّنْ رِّجْزٍ اَلِيْمٌ ࣖ ١١

hādhā
هَٰذَا
This
hudan
هُدًىۖ
(is) guidance
wa-alladhīna
وَٱلَّذِينَ
And those who
kafarū
كَفَرُوا۟
disbelieve
biāyāti
بِـَٔايَٰتِ
in (the) Verses
rabbihim
رَبِّهِمْ
(of) their Lord
lahum
لَهُمْ
for them
ʿadhābun
عَذَابٌ
(is) a punishment
min
مِّن
of
rij'zin
رِّجْزٍ
filth
alīmun
أَلِيمٌ
painful
This [Quran] is guidance. And those who have disbelieved in the verses of their Lord will have a painful punishment of foul nature. (QS. [45] Al-Jathiyah: 11)
Tafsir
12

۞ اَللّٰهُ الَّذِيْ سَخَّرَ لَكُمُ الْبَحْرَ لِتَجْرِيَ الْفُلْكُ فِيْهِ بِاَمْرِهٖ وَلِتَبْتَغُوْا مِنْ فَضْلِهٖ وَلَعَلَّكُمْ تَشْكُرُوْنَۚ ١٢

al-lahu
ٱللَّهُ
Allah
alladhī
ٱلَّذِى
(is) the One Who
sakhara
سَخَّرَ
subjected
lakumu
لَكُمُ
to you
l-baḥra
ٱلْبَحْرَ
the sea
litajriya
لِتَجْرِىَ
that may sail
l-ful'ku
ٱلْفُلْكُ
the ships
fīhi
فِيهِ
therein
bi-amrihi
بِأَمْرِهِۦ
by His Command
walitabtaghū
وَلِتَبْتَغُوا۟
and that you may seek
min
مِن
of
faḍlihi
فَضْلِهِۦ
His Bounty
walaʿallakum
وَلَعَلَّكُمْ
and that you may
tashkurūna
تَشْكُرُونَ
give thanks
It is Allah who subjected to you the sea so that ships may sail upon it by His command and that you may seek of His bounty; and perhaps you will be grateful. (QS. [45] Al-Jathiyah: 12)
Tafsir
13

وَسَخَّرَ لَكُمْ مَّا فِى السَّمٰوٰتِ وَمَا فِى الْاَرْضِ جَمِيْعًا مِّنْهُ ۗاِنَّ فِيْ ذٰلِكَ لَاٰيٰتٍ لِّقَوْمٍ يَّتَفَكَّرُوْنَ ١٣

wasakhara
وَسَخَّرَ
And He has subjected
lakum
لَكُم
to you
مَّا
whatever
فِى
(is) in
l-samāwāti
ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ
the heavens
wamā
وَمَا
and whatever
فِى
(is) in
l-arḍi
ٱلْأَرْضِ
the earth -
jamīʿan
جَمِيعًا
all
min'hu
مِّنْهُۚ
from Him
inna
إِنَّ
Indeed
فِى
in
dhālika
ذَٰلِكَ
that
laāyātin
لَءَايَٰتٍ
surely are Signs
liqawmin
لِّقَوْمٍ
for a people
yatafakkarūna
يَتَفَكَّرُونَ
who give thought
And He has subjected to you whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth – all from Him. Indeed in that are signs for a people who give thought. (QS. [45] Al-Jathiyah: 13)
Tafsir
14

قُلْ لِّلَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْا يَغْفِرُوْا لِلَّذِيْنَ لَا يَرْجُوْنَ اَيَّامَ اللّٰهِ لِيَجْزِيَ قَوْمًا ۢبِمَا كَانُوْا يَكْسِبُوْنَ ١٤

qul
قُل
Say
lilladhīna
لِّلَّذِينَ
to those who
āmanū
ءَامَنُوا۟
believe
yaghfirū
يَغْفِرُوا۟
(to) forgive
lilladhīna
لِلَّذِينَ
those who
لَا
(do) not
yarjūna
يَرْجُونَ
hope
ayyāma
أَيَّامَ
(for the) days
l-lahi
ٱللَّهِ
(of) Allah;
liyajziya
لِيَجْزِىَ
that He may recompense
qawman
قَوْمًۢا
a people
bimā
بِمَا
for what
kānū
كَانُوا۟
they used (to)
yaksibūna
يَكْسِبُونَ
earn
Say, [O Muhammad], to those who have believed that they [should] forgive those who expect not the days of Allah [i.e., of His retribution] so that He may recompense a people for what they used to earn. (QS. [45] Al-Jathiyah: 14)
Tafsir
15

مَنْ عَمِلَ صَالِحًا فَلِنَفْسِهٖۚ وَمَنْ اَسَاۤءَ فَعَلَيْهَا ۖ ثُمَّ اِلٰى رَبِّكُمْ تُرْجَعُوْنَ ١٥

man
مَنْ
Whoever
ʿamila
عَمِلَ
does
ṣāliḥan
صَٰلِحًا
a righteous deed
falinafsihi
فَلِنَفْسِهِۦۖ
then it is for his soul
waman
وَمَنْ
and whoever
asāa
أَسَآءَ
does evil
faʿalayhā
فَعَلَيْهَاۖ
then it (is) against it
thumma
ثُمَّ
Then
ilā
إِلَىٰ
to
rabbikum
رَبِّكُمْ
your Lord
tur'jaʿūna
تُرْجَعُونَ
you will be returned
Whoever does a good deed – it is for himself; and whoever does evil – it is against it [i.e., the self or soul]. Then to your Lord you will be returned. (QS. [45] Al-Jathiyah: 15)
Tafsir
16

وَلَقَدْ اٰتَيْنَا بَنِيْٓ اِسْرَاۤءِيْلَ الْكِتٰبَ وَالْحُكْمَ وَالنُّبُوَّةَ وَرَزَقْنٰهُمْ مِّنَ الطَّيِّبٰتِ وَفَضَّلْنٰهُمْ عَلَى الْعٰلَمِيْنَ ۚ ١٦

walaqad
وَلَقَدْ
And certainly
ātaynā
ءَاتَيْنَا
We gave
banī
بَنِىٓ
(the) Children of Israel
is'rāīla
إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ
(the) Children of Israel
l-kitāba
ٱلْكِتَٰبَ
the Book
wal-ḥuk'ma
وَٱلْحُكْمَ
and the wisdom
wal-nubuwata
وَٱلنُّبُوَّةَ
and the Prophethood
warazaqnāhum
وَرَزَقْنَٰهُم
and We provided them
mina
مِّنَ
of
l-ṭayibāti
ٱلطَّيِّبَٰتِ
the good things
wafaḍḍalnāhum
وَفَضَّلْنَٰهُمْ
and We preferred them
ʿalā
عَلَى
over
l-ʿālamīna
ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ
the worlds
And We did certainly give the Children of Israel the Scripture and judgement and prophethood, and We provided them with good things and preferred them over the worlds. (QS. [45] Al-Jathiyah: 16)
Tafsir
17

وَاٰتَيْنٰهُمْ بَيِّنٰتٍ مِّنَ الْاَمْرِۚ فَمَا اخْتَلَفُوْٓا اِلَّا مِنْۢ بَعْدِ مَا جَاۤءَهُمُ الْعِلْمُ بَغْيًاۢ بَيْنَهُمْ ۗاِنَّ رَبَّكَ يَقْضِيْ بَيْنَهُمْ يَوْمَ الْقِيٰمَةِ فِيْمَا كَانُوْا فِيْهِ يَخْتَلِفُوْنَ ١٧

waātaynāhum
وَءَاتَيْنَٰهُم
And We gave them
bayyinātin
بَيِّنَٰتٍ
clear proofs
mina
مِّنَ
of
l-amri
ٱلْأَمْرِۖ
the matter
famā
فَمَا
And not
ikh'talafū
ٱخْتَلَفُوٓا۟
they differed
illā
إِلَّا
except
min
مِنۢ
after
baʿdi
بَعْدِ
after
مَا
[what]
jāahumu
جَآءَهُمُ
came to them
l-ʿil'mu
ٱلْعِلْمُ
the knowledge
baghyan
بَغْيًۢا
(out of) envy
baynahum
بَيْنَهُمْۚ
between themselves
inna
إِنَّ
Indeed
rabbaka
رَبَّكَ
your Lord
yaqḍī
يَقْضِى
will judge
baynahum
بَيْنَهُمْ
between them
yawma
يَوْمَ
(on the) Day
l-qiyāmati
ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ
(of) the Resurrection
fīmā
فِيمَا
about what
kānū
كَانُوا۟
they used (to)
fīhi
فِيهِ
therein
yakhtalifūna
يَخْتَلِفُونَ
differ
And We gave them clear proofs of the matter [of religion]. And they did not differ except after knowledge had come to them – out of jealous animosity between themselves. Indeed, your Lord will judge between them on the Day of Resurrection concerning that over which they used to differ. (QS. [45] Al-Jathiyah: 17)
Tafsir
18

ثُمَّ جَعَلْنٰكَ عَلٰى شَرِيْعَةٍ مِّنَ الْاَمْرِ فَاتَّبِعْهَا وَلَا تَتَّبِعْ اَهْوَاۤءَ الَّذِيْنَ لَا يَعْلَمُوْنَ ١٨

ثُمَّ
Then
jaʿalnāka
جَعَلْنَٰكَ
We put you
ʿalā
عَلَىٰ
on
sharīʿatin
شَرِيعَةٍ
an ordained way
mina
مِّنَ
of
l-amri
ٱلْأَمْرِ
the matter;
fa-ittabiʿ'hā
فَٱتَّبِعْهَا
so follow it
walā
وَلَا
and (do) not
tattabiʿ
تَتَّبِعْ
follow
ahwāa
أَهْوَآءَ
(the) desires
alladhīna
ٱلَّذِينَ
(of) those who
لَا
(do) not
yaʿlamūna
يَعْلَمُونَ
know
Then We put you, [O Muhammad], on an ordained way concerning the matter [of religion]; so follow it and do not follow the inclinations of those who do not know. (QS. [45] Al-Jathiyah: 18)
Tafsir
19

اِنَّهُمْ لَنْ يُّغْنُوْا عَنْكَ مِنَ اللّٰهِ شَيْـًٔا ۗوَاِنَّ الظّٰلِمِيْنَ بَعْضُهُمْ اَوْلِيَاۤءُ بَعْضٍۚ وَاللّٰهُ وَلِيُّ الْمُتَّقِيْنَ ١٩

innahum
إِنَّهُمْ
Indeed they
lan
لَن
never
yugh'nū
يُغْنُوا۟
will avail
ʿanka
عَنكَ
you
mina
مِنَ
against
l-lahi
ٱللَّهِ
Allah
shayan
شَيْـًٔاۚ
(in) anything
wa-inna
وَإِنَّ
And indeed
l-ẓālimīna
ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ
the wrongdoers
baʿḍuhum
بَعْضُهُمْ
some of them
awliyāu
أَوْلِيَآءُ
(are) allies
baʿḍin
بَعْضٍۖ
(of) others
wal-lahu
وَٱللَّهُ
and Allah
waliyyu
وَلِىُّ
(is the) Protector
l-mutaqīna
ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ
(of) the righteous
Indeed, they will never avail you against Allah at all. And indeed, the wrongdoers are allies of one another; but Allah is the protector of the righteous. (QS. [45] Al-Jathiyah: 19)
Tafsir
20

هٰذَا بَصَاۤىِٕرُ لِلنَّاسِ وَهُدًى وَّرَحْمَةٌ لِّقَوْمٍ يُّوْقِنُوْنَ ٢٠

hādhā
هَٰذَا
This
baṣāiru
بَصَٰٓئِرُ
(is) enlightenment
lilnnāsi
لِلنَّاسِ
for mankind
wahudan
وَهُدًى
and guidance
waraḥmatun
وَرَحْمَةٌ
and mercy
liqawmin
لِّقَوْمٍ
for a people
yūqinūna
يُوقِنُونَ
who are certain
This [Quran] is enlightenment for mankind and guidance and mercy for a people who are certain [in faith]. (QS. [45] Al-Jathiyah: 20)
