Al-Qur'an Surah Al-Jathiyah Verse 13

Al-Jathiyah [45]: 13 ~ English Qur'an Word By Word and Multi Tafseer

وَسَخَّرَ لَكُمْ مَّا فِى السَّمٰوٰتِ وَمَا فِى الْاَرْضِ جَمِيْعًا مِّنْهُ ۗاِنَّ فِيْ ذٰلِكَ لَاٰيٰتٍ لِّقَوْمٍ يَّتَفَكَّرُوْنَ (الجاثية : ٤٥)

wasakhara
وَسَخَّرَ
And He has subjected
lakum
لَكُم
to you
مَّا
whatever
فِى
(is) in
l-samāwāti
ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ
the heavens
wamā
وَمَا
and whatever
فِى
(is) in
l-arḍi
ٱلْأَرْضِ
the earth -
jamīʿan
جَمِيعًا
all
min'hu
مِّنْهُۚ
from Him
inna
إِنَّ
Indeed
فِى
in
dhālika
ذَٰلِكَ
that
laāyātin
لَءَايَٰتٍ
surely are Signs
liqawmin
لِّقَوْمٍ
for a people
yatafakkarūna
يَتَفَكَّرُونَ
who give thought

Transliteration:

Wa sakhkhara lakum maa fis samaawaati wa maa fil ardi jamee'am minh; inna feezaalika la Aayaatil liqawminy yatafakkaroon (QS. al-Jāthiyah:13)

English / Sahih Translation:

And He has subjected to you whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth – all from Him. Indeed in that are signs for a people who give thought. (QS. Al-Jathiyah, ayah 13)

He has subjugated for you whatever there is in the heavens and whatever there is in the earth, all on His own. Surely in this there are signs for a people who reflect.

He ˹also˺ subjected for you whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth—all by His grace. Surely in this are signs for people who reflect.

And He has made subservient to you all that lies in the heavens and all that lies in the earth. All these (benedictions) are from Him. In all this there are signs for a people who would reflect.

English Literal

And He manipulated/subjugated for you what (is) in the skies/space and the earth/Planet Earth all/all together from Him, that truly in that (are) evidences/signs (E) to a nation thinking.

And has subjected for you all whatever is in the heavens and in the earth, by His command; indeed in this are signs for people who ponder.

And has subjected to you all that is in the heavens and all that is on the earth; it is all (as a favor and kindness) from Him. Verily, in it are signs for a people who think deeply.

He has subjected whatever is in heaven and on the earth to you; it is all from Him. In that are signs for those who ponder.

Talal Itani

And He placed at your service whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on earth—all is from Him. In that are signs for a people who think.

Tafsir jalalayn

And He has disposed for you whatever is in the heavens, of sun, moon, stars, water and otherwise, and whatever is in the earth, of animals, trees, vegetation, rivers and otherwise, that is to say, He created [all] that for your benefit, all (jam`an is for emphasis) being from Him (minhu is a circumstantial qualifier, that is to say, He has disposed them as something from Him, exalted be He). Surely in that there are signs for a people who reflect, on them and therefore believe.

Tafseer Ibn Kathir

وَسَخَّرَ لَكُم مَّا فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَمَا فِي الاَْرْضِ

And has subjected to you all that is in the heavens and all that is on the earth;

i.e. the stars, the mountains, the seas, the rivers and all that you use for your benefit; these are all from His favor, kindness and bounty.

Allah's statement next,

جَمِيعًا مِّنْهُ

it is all from Him.

i.e. Alone without partners in giving any of it.

Allah the Exalted said in another Ayah,

وَمَا بِكُم مِّن نِّعْمَةٍ فَمِنَ اللَّهِ ثُمَّ إِذَا مَسَّكُمُ الضُّرُّ فَإِلَيْهِ تَجْـَرُونَ

And whatever of blessings you have, it is from Allah. Then, when harm touches you unto Him you cry aloud for help. (16;53)

Ibn Jarir recorded that Al-`Awfi reported that Ibn Abbas said about Allah's statement,
وَسَخَّرَ لَكُم مَّا فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَمَا فِي الاَْرْضِ جَمِيعًا مِّنْهُ
(And has subjected to you all that is in the heavens and all that is on the earth; it is all from Him.)

"Everything is from Allah, and that is a Name from His Names. So it all comes from Him without rivals to dispute His authority; surely, this fact is completely certain."

Allah said.

إِنَّ فِي ذَلِكَ لَايَاتٍ لَّقَوْمٍ يَتَفَكَّرُونَ



Verily, in it are signs for a people who think deeply.
The Command to be Patient with the Harm of Idolators

Allah's saying
