اَللّٰهُ الَّذِيْ جَعَلَ لَكُمُ الَّيْلَ لِتَسْكُنُوْا فِيْهِ وَالنَّهَارَ مُبْصِرًا ۗاِنَّ اللّٰهَ لَذُوْ فَضْلٍ عَلَى النَّاسِ وَلٰكِنَّ اَكْثَرَ النَّاسِ لَا يَشْكُرُوْنَ ٦١
- al-lahu
- ٱللَّهُ
- Allah
- alladhī
- ٱلَّذِى
- (is) the One Who
- jaʿala
- جَعَلَ
- made
- lakumu
- لَكُمُ
- for you
- al-layla
- ٱلَّيْلَ
- the night
- litaskunū
- لِتَسْكُنُوا۟
- that you may rest
- fīhi
- فِيهِ
- in it
- wal-nahāra
- وَٱلنَّهَارَ
- and the day
- mub'ṣiran
- مُبْصِرًاۚ
- giving visibility
- inna
- إِنَّ
- Indeed
- l-laha
- ٱللَّهَ
- Allah
- ladhū
- لَذُو
- (is) Full (of) Bounty
- faḍlin
- فَضْلٍ
- (is) Full (of) Bounty
- ʿalā
- عَلَى
- to
- l-nāsi
- ٱلنَّاسِ
- the people
- walākinna
- وَلَٰكِنَّ
- but
- akthara
- أَكْثَرَ
- most
- l-nāsi
- ٱلنَّاسِ
- (of) the people
- lā
- لَا
- (do) not
- yashkurūna
- يَشْكُرُونَ
- give thanks
It is Allah who made for you the night that you may rest therein and the day giving sight. Indeed, Allah is the possessor of bounty for the people, but most of them are not grateful. (QS. [40] Ghafir: 61)Tafsir
ذٰلِكُمُ اللّٰهُ رَبُّكُمْ خَالِقُ كُلِّ شَيْءٍۘ لَآ اِلٰهَ اِلَّا هُوَ ۖفَاَنّٰى تُؤْفَكُوْنَ ٦٢
- dhālikumu
- ذَٰلِكُمُ
- That
- l-lahu
- ٱللَّهُ
- (is) Allah
- rabbukum
- رَبُّكُمْ
- your Lord
- khāliqu
- خَٰلِقُ
- (the) Creator
- kulli
- كُلِّ
- (of) all
- shayin
- شَىْءٍ
- things
- lā
- لَّآ
- (there is) no
- ilāha
- إِلَٰهَ
- god
- illā
- إِلَّا
- except
- huwa
- هُوَۖ
- Him
- fa-annā
- فَأَنَّىٰ
- So how
- tu'fakūna
- تُؤْفَكُونَ
- are you deluded?
That is Allah, your Lord, Creator of all things; there is no deity except Him, so how are you deluded? (QS. [40] Ghafir: 62)Tafsir
كَذٰلِكَ يُؤْفَكُ الَّذِيْنَ كَانُوْا بِاٰيٰتِ اللّٰهِ يَجْحَدُوْنَ ٦٣
- kadhālika
- كَذَٰلِكَ
- Thus
- yu'faku
- يُؤْفَكُ
- were deluded
- alladhīna
- ٱلَّذِينَ
- those who
- kānū
- كَانُوا۟
- were -
- biāyāti
- بِـَٔايَٰتِ
- (the) Signs
- l-lahi
- ٱللَّهِ
- (of) Allah
- yajḥadūna
- يَجْحَدُونَ
- rejecting
Thus were those [before you] deluded who were rejecting the signs of Allah. (QS. [40] Ghafir: 63)Tafsir
اَللّٰهُ الَّذِيْ جَعَلَ لَكُمُ الْاَرْضَ قَرَارًا وَّالسَّمَاۤءَ بِنَاۤءً وَّصَوَّرَكُمْ فَاَحْسَنَ صُوَرَكُمْ وَرَزَقَكُمْ مِّنَ الطَّيِّبٰتِ ۗذٰلِكُمُ اللّٰهُ رَبُّكُمْ ۚ فَتَبٰرَكَ اللّٰهُ رَبُّ الْعٰلَمِيْنَ ٦٤
- al-lahu
- ٱللَّهُ
- Allah
- alladhī
- ٱلَّذِى
- (is) the One Who
- jaʿala
- جَعَلَ
- made
- lakumu
- لَكُمُ
- for you
- l-arḍa
- ٱلْأَرْضَ
- the earth
- qarāran
- قَرَارًا
- a place of settlement
- wal-samāa
- وَٱلسَّمَآءَ
- and the sky
- bināan
- بِنَآءً
- a canopy
- waṣawwarakum
- وَصَوَّرَكُمْ
- and He formed you
- fa-aḥsana
- فَأَحْسَنَ
- and perfected
- ṣuwarakum
- صُوَرَكُمْ
- your forms
- warazaqakum
- وَرَزَقَكُم
- and provided you
- mina
- مِّنَ
- of
- l-ṭayibāti
- ٱلطَّيِّبَٰتِۚ
- the good things
- dhālikumu
- ذَٰلِكُمُ
- That
- l-lahu
- ٱللَّهُ
- (is) Allah
- rabbukum
- رَبُّكُمْۖ
- your Lord
- fatabāraka
- فَتَبَارَكَ
- Then blessed is
- l-lahu
- ٱللَّهُ
- Allah
- rabbu
- رَبُّ
- (the) Lord
- l-ʿālamīna
- ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ
- (of) the worlds
It is Allah who made for you the earth a place of settlement and the sky a structure [i.e., ceiling] and formed you and perfected your forms and provided you with good things. That is Allah, your Lord; then blessed is Allah, Lord of the worlds. (QS. [40] Ghafir: 64)Tafsir
هُوَ الْحَيُّ لَآ اِلٰهَ اِلَّا هُوَ فَادْعُوْهُ مُخْلِصِيْنَ لَهُ الدِّيْنَ ۗ اَلْحَمْدُ لِلّٰهِ رَبِّ الْعٰلَمِيْنَ ٦٥
- huwa
- هُوَ
- He
- l-ḥayu
- ٱلْحَىُّ
- (is) the Ever-Living;
- lā
- لَآ
- (there is) no
- ilāha
- إِلَٰهَ
- god
- illā
- إِلَّا
- but
- huwa
- هُوَ
- He
- fa-id'ʿūhu
- فَٱدْعُوهُ
- so call Him
- mukh'liṣīna
- مُخْلِصِينَ
- (being) sincere
- lahu
- لَهُ
- to Him
- l-dīna
- ٱلدِّينَۗ
- (in) the religion
- l-ḥamdu
- ٱلْحَمْدُ
- All praise (be)
- lillahi
- لِلَّهِ
- to Allah
- rabbi
- رَبِّ
- (the) Lord
- l-ʿālamīna
- ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ
- (of) the worlds
He is the Ever-Living; there is no deity except Him, so call upon Him, [being] sincere to Him in religion. [All] praise is [due] to Allah, Lord of the worlds. (QS. [40] Ghafir: 65)Tafsir
۞ قُلْ اِنِّيْ نُهِيْتُ اَنْ اَعْبُدَ الَّذِيْنَ تَدْعُوْنَ مِنْ دُوْنِ اللّٰهِ لَمَّا جَاۤءَنِيَ الْبَيِّنٰتُ مِنْ رَّبِّيْ وَاُمِرْتُ اَنْ اُسْلِمَ لِرَبِّ الْعٰلَمِيْنَ ٦٦
- qul
- قُلْ
- Say
- innī
- إِنِّى
- "Indeed, I
- nuhītu
- نُهِيتُ
- [I] have been forbidden
- an
- أَنْ
- to
- aʿbuda
- أَعْبُدَ
- worship
- alladhīna
- ٱلَّذِينَ
- those whom
- tadʿūna
- تَدْعُونَ
- you call
- min
- مِن
- besides
- dūni
- دُونِ
- besides
- l-lahi
- ٱللَّهِ
- Allah
- lammā
- لَمَّا
- when
- jāaniya
- جَآءَنِىَ
- have come to me
- l-bayinātu
- ٱلْبَيِّنَٰتُ
- the clear proofs
- min
- مِن
- from
- rabbī
- رَّبِّى
- my Lord
- wa-umir'tu
- وَأُمِرْتُ
- and I am commanded
- an
- أَنْ
- to
- us'lima
- أُسْلِمَ
- submit
- lirabbi
- لِرَبِّ
- to (the) Lord
- l-ʿālamīna
- ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ
- (of) the worlds
Say, [O Muhammad], "Indeed, I have been forbidden to worship those you call upon besides Allah once the clear proofs have come to me from my Lord, and I have been commanded to submit to the Lord of the worlds." (QS. [40] Ghafir: 66)Tafsir
هُوَ الَّذِيْ خَلَقَكُمْ مِّنْ تُرَابٍ ثُمَّ مِنْ نُّطْفَةٍ ثُمَّ مِنْ عَلَقَةٍ ثُمَّ يُخْرِجُكُمْ طِفْلًا ثُمَّ لِتَبْلُغُوْٓا اَشُدَّكُمْ ثُمَّ لِتَكُوْنُوْا شُيُوْخًا ۚوَمِنْكُمْ مَّنْ يُّتَوَفّٰى مِنْ قَبْلُ وَلِتَبْلُغُوْٓا اَجَلًا مُّسَمًّى وَّلَعَلَّكُمْ تَعْقِلُوْنَ ٦٧
- huwa
- هُوَ
- He
- alladhī
- ٱلَّذِى
- (is) the One Who
- khalaqakum
- خَلَقَكُم
- created you
- min
- مِّن
- from
- turābin
- تُرَابٍ
- dust
- thumma
- ثُمَّ
- then
- min
- مِن
- from
- nuṭ'fatin
- نُّطْفَةٍ
- a sperm-drop
- thumma
- ثُمَّ
- then
- min
- مِنْ
- from
- ʿalaqatin
- عَلَقَةٍ
- a clinging substance
- thumma
- ثُمَّ
- then
- yukh'rijukum
- يُخْرِجُكُمْ
- He brings you out
- ṭif'lan
- طِفْلًا
- (as) a child
- thumma
- ثُمَّ
- then
- litablughū
- لِتَبْلُغُوٓا۟
- lets you reach
- ashuddakum
- أَشُدَّكُمْ
- your maturity
- thumma
- ثُمَّ
- then
- litakūnū
- لِتَكُونُوا۟
- lets you become
- shuyūkhan
- شُيُوخًاۚ
- old
- waminkum
- وَمِنكُم
- and among you
- man
- مَّن
- (is he) who
- yutawaffā
- يُتَوَفَّىٰ
- dies
- min
- مِن
- before
- qablu
- قَبْلُۖ
- before
- walitablughū
- وَلِتَبْلُغُوٓا۟
- and lets you reach
- ajalan
- أَجَلًا
- a term
- musamman
- مُّسَمًّى
- specified
- walaʿallakum
- وَلَعَلَّكُمْ
- and that you may
- taʿqilūna
- تَعْقِلُونَ
- use reason
It is He who created you from dust, then from a sperm-drop, then from a clinging clot; then He brings you out as a child; then [He develops you] that you reach your [time of] maturity, then [further] that you become elders. And among you is he who is taken in death before [that], so that you reach a specified term; and perhaps you will use reason. (QS. [40] Ghafir: 67)Tafsir
هُوَ الَّذِيْ يُحْيٖ وَيُمِيْتُۚ فَاِذَا قَضٰىٓ اَمْرًا فَاِنَّمَا يَقُوْلُ لَهٗ كُنْ فَيَكُوْنُ ࣖ ٦٨
- huwa
- هُوَ
- He
- alladhī
- ٱلَّذِى
- (is) the One Who
- yuḥ'yī
- يُحْىِۦ
- gives life
- wayumītu
- وَيُمِيتُۖ
- and causes death
- fa-idhā
- فَإِذَا
- And when
- qaḍā
- قَضَىٰٓ
- He decrees
- amran
- أَمْرًا
- a matter
- fa-innamā
- فَإِنَّمَا
- then only
- yaqūlu
- يَقُولُ
- He says
- lahu
- لَهُۥ
- to it
- kun
- كُن
- "Be"
- fayakūnu
- فَيَكُونُ
- and it is
He it is who gives life and causes death; and when He decrees a matter, He but says to it, "Be," and it is. (QS. [40] Ghafir: 68)Tafsir
اَلَمْ تَرَ اِلَى الَّذِيْنَ يُجَادِلُوْنَ فِيْٓ اٰيٰتِ اللّٰهِ ۗاَنّٰى يُصْرَفُوْنَۚ ٦٩
- alam
- أَلَمْ
- Do not
- tara
- تَرَ
- you see
- ilā
- إِلَى
- [to]
- alladhīna
- ٱلَّذِينَ
- those who
- yujādilūna
- يُجَٰدِلُونَ
- dispute
- fī
- فِىٓ
- concerning
- āyāti
- ءَايَٰتِ
- (the) Signs
- l-lahi
- ٱللَّهِ
- (of) Allah?
- annā
- أَنَّىٰ
- How
- yuṣ'rafūna
- يُصْرَفُونَ
- they are turned away?
Do you not consider those who dispute concerning the signs of Allah – how are they averted? (QS. [40] Ghafir: 69)Tafsir
اَلَّذِيْنَ كَذَّبُوْا بِالْكِتٰبِ وَبِمَآ اَرْسَلْنَا بِهٖ رُسُلَنَا ۗفَسَوْفَ يَعْلَمُوْنَۙ ٧٠
- alladhīna
- ٱلَّذِينَ
- Those who
- kadhabū
- كَذَّبُوا۟
- deny
- bil-kitābi
- بِٱلْكِتَٰبِ
- the Book
- wabimā
- وَبِمَآ
- and with what
- arsalnā
- أَرْسَلْنَا
- We sent
- bihi
- بِهِۦ
- with it
- rusulanā
- رُسُلَنَاۖ
- Our Messengers;
- fasawfa
- فَسَوْفَ
- but soon
- yaʿlamūna
- يَعْلَمُونَ
- they will know
Those who deny the Book [i.e., the Quran] and that with which We sent Our messengers – they are going to know, (QS. [40] Ghafir: 70)Tafsir
