يٰٓاَيُّهَا الَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْا خُذُوْا حِذْرَكُمْ فَانْفِرُوْا ثُبَاتٍ اَوِ انْفِرُوْا جَمِيْعًا ٧١
- yāayyuhā
- يَٰٓأَيُّهَا
- O you
- alladhīna
- ٱلَّذِينَ
- who
- āmanū
- ءَامَنُوا۟
- believe[d]!
- khudhū
- خُذُوا۟
- Take
- ḥidh'rakum
- حِذْرَكُمْ
- your precautions
- fa-infirū
- فَٱنفِرُوا۟
- and advance
- thubātin
- ثُبَاتٍ
- (in) groups
- awi
- أَوِ
- or
- infirū
- ٱنفِرُوا۟
- advance
- jamīʿan
- جَمِيعًا
- all together
O you who have believed, take your precaution and [either] go forth in companies or go forth all together. (QS. [4] An-Nisa: 71)Tafsir
وَاِنَّ مِنْكُمْ لَمَنْ لَّيُبَطِّئَنَّۚ فَاِنْ اَصَابَتْكُمْ مُّصِيْبَةٌ قَالَ قَدْ اَنْعَمَ اللّٰهُ عَلَيَّ اِذْ لَمْ اَكُنْ مَّعَهُمْ شَهِيْدًا ٧٢
- wa-inna
- وَإِنَّ
- And indeed
- minkum
- مِنكُمْ
- among you
- laman
- لَمَن
- (is he) who
- layubaṭṭi-anna
- لَّيُبَطِّئَنَّ
- lags behind
- fa-in
- فَإِنْ
- then if
- aṣābatkum
- أَصَٰبَتْكُم
- befalls you
- muṣībatun
- مُّصِيبَةٌ
- a disaster
- qāla
- قَالَ
- he said
- qad
- قَدْ
- "Verily
- anʿama
- أَنْعَمَ
- (has) favored
- l-lahu
- ٱللَّهُ
- Allah
- ʿalayya
- عَلَىَّ
- [on] me
- idh
- إِذْ
- [when]
- lam
- لَمْ
- (that) not
- akun
- أَكُن
- I was
- maʿahum
- مَّعَهُمْ
- with them"
- shahīdan
- شَهِيدًا
- present"
And indeed, there is among you he who lingers behind; and if disaster strikes you, he says, "Allah has favored me in that I was not present with them." (QS. [4] An-Nisa: 72)Tafsir
وَلَىِٕنْ اَصَابَكُمْ فَضْلٌ مِّنَ اللّٰهِ لَيَقُوْلَنَّ كَاَنْ لَّمْ تَكُنْۢ بَيْنَكُمْ وَبَيْنَهٗ مَوَدَّةٌ يّٰلَيْتَنِيْ كُنْتُ مَعَهُمْ فَاَفُوْزَ فَوْزًا عَظِيْمًا ٧٣
- wala-in
- وَلَئِنْ
- And if
- aṣābakum
- أَصَٰبَكُمْ
- befalls you
- faḍlun
- فَضْلٌ
- bounty
- mina
- مِّنَ
- from
- l-lahi
- ٱللَّهِ
- Allah
- layaqūlanna
- لَيَقُولَنَّ
- he would surely say
- ka-an
- كَأَن
- as if
- lam
- لَّمْ
- (had) not
- takun
- تَكُنۢ
- there been
- baynakum
- بَيْنَكُمْ
- between you
- wabaynahu
- وَبَيْنَهُۥ
- and between him
- mawaddatun
- مَوَدَّةٌ
- any affection
- yālaytanī
- يَٰلَيْتَنِى
- "Oh! I wish
- kuntu
- كُنتُ
- I had been
- maʿahum
- مَعَهُمْ
- with them
- fa-afūza
- فَأَفُوزَ
- then I would have attained
- fawzan
- فَوْزًا
- a success
- ʿaẓīman
- عَظِيمًا
- great"
But if bounty comes to you from Allah, he will surely say, as if [i.e., showing that] there had never been between you and him any affection, "Oh, I wish I had been with them so I could have attained a great attainment." (QS. [4] An-Nisa: 73)Tafsir
۞ فَلْيُقَاتِلْ فِيْ سَبِيْلِ اللّٰهِ الَّذِيْنَ يَشْرُوْنَ الْحَيٰوةَ الدُّنْيَا بِالْاٰخِرَةِ ۗ وَمَنْ يُّقَاتِلْ فِيْ سَبِيْلِ اللّٰهِ فَيُقْتَلْ اَوْ يَغْلِبْ فَسَوْفَ نُؤْتِيْهِ اَجْرًا عَظِيْمًا ٧٤
- falyuqātil
- فَلْيُقَٰتِلْ
- So let fight
- fī
- فِى
- in
- sabīli
- سَبِيلِ
- (the) way
- l-lahi
- ٱللَّهِ
- (of) Allah
- alladhīna
- ٱلَّذِينَ
- those who
- yashrūna
- يَشْرُونَ
- sell
- l-ḥayata
- ٱلْحَيَوٰةَ
- the life
- l-dun'yā
- ٱلدُّنْيَا
- (of) the world
- bil-ākhirati
- بِٱلْءَاخِرَةِۚ
- for the Hereafter
- waman
- وَمَن
- And whoever
- yuqātil
- يُقَٰتِلْ
- fights
- fī
- فِى
- in
- sabīli
- سَبِيلِ
- (the) way
- l-lahi
- ٱللَّهِ
- (of) Allah
- fayuq'tal
- فَيُقْتَلْ
- then he is killed
- aw
- أَوْ
- or
- yaghlib
- يَغْلِبْ
- achieves victory
- fasawfa
- فَسَوْفَ
- then soon
- nu'tīhi
- نُؤْتِيهِ
- We will grant him
- ajran
- أَجْرًا
- a reward
- ʿaẓīman
- عَظِيمًا
- a great
So let those fight in the cause of Allah who sell the life of this world for the Hereafter. And he who fights in the cause of Allah and is killed or achieves victory – We will bestow upon him a great reward. (QS. [4] An-Nisa: 74)Tafsir
وَمَا لَكُمْ لَا تُقَاتِلُوْنَ فِيْ سَبِيْلِ اللّٰهِ وَالْمُسْتَضْعَفِيْنَ مِنَ الرِّجَالِ وَالنِّسَاۤءِ وَالْوِلْدَانِ الَّذِيْنَ يَقُوْلُوْنَ رَبَّنَآ اَخْرِجْنَا مِنْ هٰذِهِ الْقَرْيَةِ الظَّالِمِ اَهْلُهَاۚ وَاجْعَلْ لَّنَا مِنْ لَّدُنْكَ وَلِيًّاۚ وَاجْعَلْ لَّنَا مِنْ لَّدُنْكَ نَصِيْرًا ٧٥

- وَمَا
- And what
- lakum
- لَكُمْ
- for you
- lā
- لَا
- (that) not
- tuqātilūna
- تُقَٰتِلُونَ
- you fight
- fī
- فِى
- in
- sabīli
- سَبِيلِ
- (the) way
- l-lahi
- ٱللَّهِ
- (of) Allah
- wal-mus'taḍʿafīna
- وَٱلْمُسْتَضْعَفِينَ
- and (for) those who are weak
- mina
- مِنَ
- among
- l-rijāli
- ٱلرِّجَالِ
- the men
- wal-nisāi
- وَٱلنِّسَآءِ
- and the women
- wal-wil'dāni
- وَٱلْوِلْدَٰنِ
- and the children
- alladhīna
- ٱلَّذِينَ
- those who
- yaqūlūna
- يَقُولُونَ
- say
- rabbanā
- رَبَّنَآ
- "Our Lord
- akhrij'nā
- أَخْرِجْنَا
- take us out
- min
- مِنْ
- of
- hādhihi
- هَٰذِهِ
- this
- l-qaryati
- ٱلْقَرْيَةِ
- [the] town
- l-ẓālimi
- ٱلظَّالِمِ
- [the] oppressor(s)
- ahluhā
- أَهْلُهَا
- (are) its people
- wa-ij'ʿal
- وَٱجْعَل
- and appoint
- lanā
- لَّنَا
- for us
- min
- مِن
- from
- ladunka
- لَّدُنكَ
- Yourself
- waliyyan
- وَلِيًّا
- a protector
- wa-ij'ʿal
- وَٱجْعَل
- and appoint
- lanā
- لَّنَا
- for us
- min
- مِن
- from
- ladunka
- لَّدُنكَ
- Yourself
- naṣīran
- نَصِيرًا
- a helper
And what is [the matter] with you that you fight not in the cause of Allah and [for] the oppressed among men, women, and children who say, "Our Lord, take us out of this city of oppressive people and appoint for us from Yourself a protector and appoint for us from Yourself a helper"? (QS. [4] An-Nisa: 75)Tafsir
اَلَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْا يُقَاتِلُوْنَ فِيْ سَبِيْلِ اللّٰهِ ۚ وَالَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوْا يُقَاتِلُوْنَ فِيْ سَبِيْلِ الطَّاغُوْتِ فَقَاتِلُوْٓا اَوْلِيَاۤءَ الشَّيْطٰنِ ۚ اِنَّ كَيْدَ الشَّيْطٰنِ كَانَ ضَعِيْفًا ۚ ࣖ ٧٦
- alladhīna
- ٱلَّذِينَ
- Those who
- āmanū
- ءَامَنُوا۟
- believe
- yuqātilūna
- يُقَٰتِلُونَ
- they fight
- fī
- فِى
- in
- sabīli
- سَبِيلِ
- (the) way
- l-lahi
- ٱللَّهِۖ
- (of) Allah;
- wa-alladhīna
- وَٱلَّذِينَ
- and those
- kafarū
- كَفَرُوا۟
- who disbelieve
- yuqātilūna
- يُقَٰتِلُونَ
- they fight
- fī
- فِى
- in
- sabīli
- سَبِيلِ
- (the) way
- l-ṭāghūti
- ٱلطَّٰغُوتِ
- (of) the false deities
- faqātilū
- فَقَٰتِلُوٓا۟
- So fight (against)
- awliyāa
- أَوْلِيَآءَ
- (the) friends
- l-shayṭāni
- ٱلشَّيْطَٰنِۖ
- (of) the Shaitaan
- inna
- إِنَّ
- Indeed
- kayda
- كَيْدَ
- (the) strategy
- l-shayṭāni
- ٱلشَّيْطَٰنِ
- (of) the Shaitaan
- kāna
- كَانَ
- is
- ḍaʿīfan
- ضَعِيفًا
- weak
Those who believe fight in the cause of Allah, and those who disbelieve fight in the cause of Taghut. So fight against the allies of Satan. Indeed, the plot of Satan has ever been weak. (QS. [4] An-Nisa: 76)Tafsir
اَلَمْ تَرَ اِلَى الَّذِيْنَ قِيْلَ لَهُمْ كُفُّوْٓا اَيْدِيَكُمْ وَاَقِيْمُوا الصَّلٰوةَ وَاٰتُوا الزَّكٰوةَۚ فَلَمَّا كُتِبَ عَلَيْهِمُ الْقِتَالُ اِذَا فَرِيْقٌ مِّنْهُمْ يَخْشَوْنَ النَّاسَ كَخَشْيَةِ اللّٰهِ اَوْ اَشَدَّ خَشْيَةً ۚ وَقَالُوْا رَبَّنَا لِمَ كَتَبْتَ عَلَيْنَا الْقِتَالَۚ لَوْلَآ اَخَّرْتَنَآ اِلٰٓى اَجَلٍ قَرِيْبٍۗ قُلْ مَتَاعُ الدُّنْيَا قَلِيْلٌۚ وَالْاٰخِرَةُ خَيْرٌ لِّمَنِ اتَّقٰىۗ وَلَا تُظْلَمُوْنَ فَتِيْلًا ٧٧
- alam
- أَلَمْ
- Have not
- tara
- تَرَ
- you seen
- ilā
- إِلَى
- [towards]
- alladhīna
- ٱلَّذِينَ
- those who
- qīla
- قِيلَ
- (when) it was said
- lahum
- لَهُمْ
- to them
- kuffū
- كُفُّوٓا۟
- "Restrain
- aydiyakum
- أَيْدِيَكُمْ
- your hands
- wa-aqīmū
- وَأَقِيمُوا۟
- and establish
- l-ṣalata
- ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ
- the prayer
- waātū
- وَءَاتُوا۟
- and give
- l-zakata
- ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ
- the zakah?"
- falammā
- فَلَمَّا
- Then when
- kutiba
- كُتِبَ
- was ordained
- ʿalayhimu
- عَلَيْهِمُ
- on them
- l-qitālu
- ٱلْقِتَالُ
- the fighting
- idhā
- إِذَا
- then
- farīqun
- فَرِيقٌ
- a group
- min'hum
- مِّنْهُمْ
- of them
- yakhshawna
- يَخْشَوْنَ
- [they] fear
- l-nāsa
- ٱلنَّاسَ
- the people
- kakhashyati
- كَخَشْيَةِ
- as (they) fear
- l-lahi
- ٱللَّهِ
- Allah
- aw
- أَوْ
- or
- ashadda
- أَشَدَّ
- more intense
- khashyatan
- خَشْيَةًۚ
- fear
- waqālū
- وَقَالُوا۟
- and they said
- rabbanā
- رَبَّنَا
- "Our Lord
- lima
- لِمَ
- why
- katabta
- كَتَبْتَ
- have You ordained
- ʿalaynā
- عَلَيْنَا
- upon us
- l-qitāla
- ٱلْقِتَالَ
- [the] fighting?
- lawlā
- لَوْلَآ
- Why not
- akhartanā
- أَخَّرْتَنَآ
- You postpone (it for) us
- ilā
- إِلَىٰٓ
- to
- ajalin
- أَجَلٍ
- a term"
- qarībin
- قَرِيبٍۗ
- near"
- qul
- قُلْ
- Say
- matāʿu
- مَتَٰعُ
- "Enjoyment
- l-dun'yā
- ٱلدُّنْيَا
- (of) the world
- qalīlun
- قَلِيلٌ
- (is) little
- wal-ākhiratu
- وَٱلْءَاخِرَةُ
- and the Hereafter
- khayrun
- خَيْرٌ
- (is) better
- limani
- لِّمَنِ
- for whoever
- ittaqā
- ٱتَّقَىٰ
- fears (Allah)
- walā
- وَلَا
- and not
- tuẓ'lamūna
- تُظْلَمُونَ
- you will be wronged
- fatīlan
- فَتِيلًا
- (even as much as) a hair on a date-seed"
Have you not seen those who were told, "Restrain your hands [from fighting] and establish prayer and give Zakah"? But then when battle was ordained for them, at once a party of them feared men as they fear Allah or with [even] greater fear. They said, "Our Lord, why have You decreed upon us fighting? If only You had postponed [it for] us for a short time." Say, "The enjoyment of this world is little, and the Hereafter is better for he who fears Allah. And injustice will not be done to you, [even] as much as a thread [inside a date seed]." (QS. [4] An-Nisa: 77)Tafsir
اَيْنَمَا تَكُوْنُوْا يُدْرِكْكُّمُ الْمَوْتُ وَلَوْ كُنْتُمْ فِيْ بُرُوْجٍ مُّشَيَّدَةٍ ۗ وَاِنْ تُصِبْهُمْ حَسَنَةٌ يَّقُوْلُوْا هٰذِهٖ مِنْ عِنْدِ اللّٰهِ ۚ وَاِنْ تُصِبْهُمْ سَيِّئَةٌ يَّقُوْلُوْا هٰذِهٖ مِنْ عِنْدِكَ ۗ قُلْ كُلٌّ مِّنْ عِنْدِ اللّٰهِ ۗ فَمَالِ هٰٓؤُلَاۤءِ الْقَوْمِ لَا يَكَادُوْنَ يَفْقَهُوْنَ حَدِيْثًا ٧٨
- aynamā
- أَيْنَمَا
- Wherever
- takūnū
- تَكُونُوا۟
- you be
- yud'rikkumu
- يُدْرِككُّمُ
- will overtake you
- l-mawtu
- ٱلْمَوْتُ
- [the] death
- walaw
- وَلَوْ
- even if
- kuntum
- كُنتُمْ
- you are
- fī
- فِى
- in
- burūjin
- بُرُوجٍ
- towers
- mushayyadatin
- مُّشَيَّدَةٍۗ
- lofty
- wa-in
- وَإِن
- And if
- tuṣib'hum
- تُصِبْهُمْ
- befalls them
- ḥasanatun
- حَسَنَةٌ
- any good
- yaqūlū
- يَقُولُوا۟
- they say
- hādhihi
- هَٰذِهِۦ
- "This
- min
- مِنْ
- (is)
- ʿindi
- عِندِ
- from
- l-lahi
- ٱللَّهِۖ
- Allah"
- wa-in
- وَإِن
- And if
- tuṣib'hum
- تُصِبْهُمْ
- befalls them
- sayyi-atun
- سَيِّئَةٌ
- any evil
- yaqūlū
- يَقُولُوا۟
- they say
- hādhihi
- هَٰذِهِۦ
- "This
- min
- مِنْ
- (is) from
- ʿindika
- عِندِكَۚ
- you"
- qul
- قُلْ
- Say
- kullun
- كُلٌّ
- "All
- min
- مِّنْ
- (is)"
- ʿindi
- عِندِ
- from"
- l-lahi
- ٱللَّهِۖ
- Allah"
- famāli
- فَمَالِ
- So what (is wrong)
- hāulāi
- هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ
- (with) these
- l-qawmi
- ٱلْقَوْمِ
- [the] people
- lā
- لَا
- not
- yakādūna
- يَكَادُونَ
- do they seem
- yafqahūna
- يَفْقَهُونَ
- (to) understand
- ḥadīthan
- حَدِيثًا
- any statement
Wherever you may be, death will overtake you, even if you should be within towers of lofty construction. But if good comes to them, they say, "This is from Allah"; and if evil befalls them, they say, "This is from you." Say, "All [things] are from Allah." So what is [the matter] with those people that they can hardly understand any statement? (QS. [4] An-Nisa: 78)Tafsir
مَآ اَصَابَكَ مِنْ حَسَنَةٍ فَمِنَ اللّٰهِ ۖ وَمَآ اَصَابَكَ مِنْ سَيِّئَةٍ فَمِنْ نَّفْسِكَ ۗ وَاَرْسَلْنٰكَ لِلنَّاسِ رَسُوْلًا ۗ وَكَفٰى بِاللّٰهِ شَهِيْدًا ٧٩
- mā
- مَّآ
- What(ever)
- aṣābaka
- أَصَابَكَ
- befalls you
- min
- مِنْ
- of
- ḥasanatin
- حَسَنَةٍ
- (the) good
- famina
- فَمِنَ
- (is) from
- l-lahi
- ٱللَّهِۖ
- Allah
- wamā
- وَمَآ
- and whatever
- aṣābaka
- أَصَابَكَ
- befalls you
- min
- مِن
- of
- sayyi-atin
- سَيِّئَةٍ
- (the) evil
- famin
- فَمِن
- (is) from
- nafsika
- نَّفْسِكَۚ
- yourself
- wa-arsalnāka
- وَأَرْسَلْنَٰكَ
- And We have sent you
- lilnnāsi
- لِلنَّاسِ
- for the people
- rasūlan
- رَسُولًاۚ
- (as) a Messenger
- wakafā
- وَكَفَىٰ
- and is sufficient
- bil-lahi
- بِٱللَّهِ
- Allah
- shahīdan
- شَهِيدًا
- (as) a Witness
What comes to you of good is from Allah, but what comes to you of evil, [O man], is from yourself. And We have sent you, [O Muhammad], to the people as a messenger, and sufficient is Allah as Witness. (QS. [4] An-Nisa: 79)Tafsir
مَنْ يُّطِعِ الرَّسُوْلَ فَقَدْ اَطَاعَ اللّٰهَ ۚ وَمَنْ تَوَلّٰى فَمَآ اَرْسَلْنٰكَ عَلَيْهِمْ حَفِيْظًا ۗ ٨٠
- man
- مَّن
- (He) who
- yuṭiʿi
- يُطِعِ
- obeys
- l-rasūla
- ٱلرَّسُولَ
- the Messenger
- faqad
- فَقَدْ
- then surely
- aṭāʿa
- أَطَاعَ
- he obeyed
- l-laha
- ٱللَّهَۖ
- Allah
- waman
- وَمَن
- and whoever
- tawallā
- تَوَلَّىٰ
- turns away -
- famā
- فَمَآ
- then not
- arsalnāka
- أَرْسَلْنَٰكَ
- We (have) sent you
- ʿalayhim
- عَلَيْهِمْ
- over them
- ḥafīẓan
- حَفِيظًا
- (as) a guardian
He who obeys the Messenger has obeyed Allah; but those who turn away – We have not sent you over them as a guardian. (QS. [4] An-Nisa: 80)Tafsir
