وَجَعَلْنٰهُمْ اَىِٕمَّةً يَّدْعُوْنَ اِلَى النَّارِۚ وَيَوْمَ الْقِيٰمَةِ لَا يُنْصَرُوْنَ ٤١
- wajaʿalnāhum
- وَجَعَلْنَٰهُمْ
- And We made them
- a-immatan
- أَئِمَّةً
- leaders
- yadʿūna
- يَدْعُونَ
- inviting
- ilā
- إِلَى
- to
- l-nāri
- ٱلنَّارِۖ
- the Fire
- wayawma
- وَيَوْمَ
- and (on the) Day
- l-qiyāmati
- ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ
- (of) the Resurrection
- lā
- لَا
- not
- yunṣarūna
- يُنصَرُونَ
- they will be helped
And We made them leaders inviting to the Fire, and on the Day of Resurrection they will not be helped. (QS. [28] Al-Qasas: 41)Tafsir
وَاَتْبَعْنٰهُمْ فِيْ هٰذِهِ الدُّنْيَا لَعْنَةً ۚوَيَوْمَ الْقِيٰمَةِ هُمْ مِّنَ الْمَقْبُوْحِيْنَ ࣖ ٤٢
- wa-atbaʿnāhum
- وَأَتْبَعْنَٰهُمْ
- And We caused to follow them
- fī
- فِى
- in
- hādhihi
- هَٰذِهِ
- this
- l-dun'yā
- ٱلدُّنْيَا
- world
- laʿnatan
- لَعْنَةًۖ
- a curse
- wayawma
- وَيَوْمَ
- and (on the) Day
- l-qiyāmati
- ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ
- (of) the Resurrection
- hum
- هُم
- they
- mina
- مِّنَ
- (will be) of
- l-maqbūḥīna
- ٱلْمَقْبُوحِينَ
- the despised
And We caused to overtake them in this world a curse, and on the Day of Resurrection they will be of the despised. (QS. [28] Al-Qasas: 42)Tafsir
وَلَقَدْ اٰتَيْنَا مُوْسَى الْكِتٰبَ مِنْۢ بَعْدِ مَآ اَهْلَكْنَا الْقُرُوْنَ الْاُوْلٰى بَصَاۤىِٕرَ لِلنَّاسِ وَهُدًى وَّرَحْمَةً لَّعَلَّهُمْ يَتَذَكَّرُوْنَ ٤٣
- walaqad
- وَلَقَدْ
- And verily
- ātaynā
- ءَاتَيْنَا
- We gave
- mūsā
- مُوسَى
- Musa
- l-kitāba
- ٱلْكِتَٰبَ
- the Scripture
- min
- مِنۢ
- after [what]
- baʿdi
- بَعْدِ
- after [what]
- mā
- مَآ
- after [what]
- ahlaknā
- أَهْلَكْنَا
- We had destroyed
- l-qurūna
- ٱلْقُرُونَ
- the generations
- l-ūlā
- ٱلْأُولَىٰ
- former
- baṣāira
- بَصَآئِرَ
- (as) an enlightenment
- lilnnāsi
- لِلنَّاسِ
- for the mankind
- wahudan
- وَهُدًى
- and a guidance
- waraḥmatan
- وَرَحْمَةً
- and mercy
- laʿallahum
- لَّعَلَّهُمْ
- that they may
- yatadhakkarūna
- يَتَذَكَّرُونَ
- remember
And We gave Moses the Scripture, after We had destroyed the former generations, as enlightenment for the people and guidance and mercy that they might be reminded. (QS. [28] Al-Qasas: 43)Tafsir
وَمَا كُنْتَ بِجَانِبِ الْغَرْبِيِّ اِذْ قَضَيْنَآ اِلٰى مُوْسَى الْاَمْرَ وَمَا كُنْتَ مِنَ الشّٰهِدِيْنَ ۙ ٤٤
- wamā
- وَمَا
- And not
- kunta
- كُنتَ
- you were
- bijānibi
- بِجَانِبِ
- on (the) side
- l-gharbiyi
- ٱلْغَرْبِىِّ
- western
- idh
- إِذْ
- when
- qaḍaynā
- قَضَيْنَآ
- We decreed
- ilā
- إِلَىٰ
- to
- mūsā
- مُوسَى
- Musa
- l-amra
- ٱلْأَمْرَ
- the Commandment
- wamā
- وَمَا
- and not
- kunta
- كُنتَ
- you were
- mina
- مِنَ
- among
- l-shāhidīna
- ٱلشَّٰهِدِينَ
- the witnesses
And you, [O Muhammad], were not on the western side [of the mount] when We revealed to Moses the command, and you were not among the witnesses [to that]. (QS. [28] Al-Qasas: 44)Tafsir
وَلٰكِنَّآ اَنْشَأْنَا قُرُوْنًا فَتَطَاوَلَ عَلَيْهِمُ الْعُمُرُۚ وَمَا كُنْتَ ثَاوِيًا فِيْٓ اَهْلِ مَدْيَنَ تَتْلُوْا عَلَيْهِمْ اٰيٰتِنَاۙ وَلٰكِنَّا كُنَّا مُرْسِلِيْنَ ٤٥
- walākinnā
- وَلَٰكِنَّآ
- But We
- anshanā
- أَنشَأْنَا
- [We] produced
- qurūnan
- قُرُونًا
- generations
- fataṭāwala
- فَتَطَاوَلَ
- and prolonged
- ʿalayhimu
- عَلَيْهِمُ
- for them
- l-ʿumuru
- ٱلْعُمُرُۚ
- the life
- wamā
- وَمَا
- And not
- kunta
- كُنتَ
- you were
- thāwiyan
- ثَاوِيًا
- a dweller
- fī
- فِىٓ
- among
- ahli
- أَهْلِ
- (the) people
- madyana
- مَدْيَنَ
- (of) Madyan
- tatlū
- تَتْلُوا۟
- reciting
- ʿalayhim
- عَلَيْهِمْ
- to them
- āyātinā
- ءَايَٰتِنَا
- Our Verses
- walākinnā
- وَلَٰكِنَّا
- but We
- kunnā
- كُنَّا
- [We] were
- mur'silīna
- مُرْسِلِينَ
- the Senders
But We produced [many] generations [after Moses], and prolonged was their duration. And you were not a resident among the people of Madyan, reciting to them Our verses, but We were senders [of this message]. (QS. [28] Al-Qasas: 45)Tafsir
وَمَا كُنْتَ بِجَانِبِ الطُّوْرِ اِذْ نَادَيْنَا وَلٰكِنْ رَّحْمَةً مِّنْ رَّبِّكَ لِتُنْذِرَ قَوْمًا مَّآ اَتٰىهُمْ مِّنْ نَّذِيْرٍ مِّنْ قَبْلِكَ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَتَذَكَّرُوْنَ ٤٦
- wamā
- وَمَا
- And not
- kunta
- كُنتَ
- you were
- bijānibi
- بِجَانِبِ
- at (the) side
- l-ṭūri
- ٱلطُّورِ
- (of) the Tur
- idh
- إِذْ
- when
- nādaynā
- نَادَيْنَا
- We called
- walākin
- وَلَٰكِن
- But
- raḥmatan
- رَّحْمَةً
- (as) a mercy
- min
- مِّن
- from
- rabbika
- رَّبِّكَ
- your Lord
- litundhira
- لِتُنذِرَ
- so that you warn
- qawman
- قَوْمًا
- a people
- mā
- مَّآ
- not
- atāhum
- أَتَىٰهُم
- (had) come to them
- min
- مِّن
- any
- nadhīrin
- نَّذِيرٍ
- warner
- min
- مِّن
- before you
- qablika
- قَبْلِكَ
- before you
- laʿallahum
- لَعَلَّهُمْ
- so that they may
- yatadhakkarūna
- يَتَذَكَّرُونَ
- remember
And you were not at the side of the mount when We called [Moses] but [were sent] as a mercy from your Lord to warn a people to whom no warner had come before you that they might be reminded. (QS. [28] Al-Qasas: 46)Tafsir
وَلَوْلَآ اَنْ تُصِيْبَهُمْ مُّصِيْبَةٌ ۢبِمَا قَدَّمَتْ اَيْدِيْهِمْ فَيَقُوْلُوْا رَبَّنَا لَوْلَآ اَرْسَلْتَ اِلَيْنَا رَسُوْلًا فَنَتَّبِعَ اٰيٰتِكَ وَنَكُوْنَ مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ ٤٧
- walawlā
- وَلَوْلَآ
- And if not
- an
- أَن
- [that]
- tuṣībahum
- تُصِيبَهُم
- struck them
- muṣībatun
- مُّصِيبَةٌۢ
- a disaster
- bimā
- بِمَا
- for what
- qaddamat
- قَدَّمَتْ
- had sent forth
- aydīhim
- أَيْدِيهِمْ
- their hands
- fayaqūlū
- فَيَقُولُوا۟
- and they would say
- rabbanā
- رَبَّنَا
- "Our Lord!
- lawlā
- لَوْلَآ
- Why not
- arsalta
- أَرْسَلْتَ
- You sent
- ilaynā
- إِلَيْنَا
- to us
- rasūlan
- رَسُولًا
- a Messenger
- fanattabiʿa
- فَنَتَّبِعَ
- so we (could have) followed
- āyātika
- ءَايَٰتِكَ
- Your Verses
- wanakūna
- وَنَكُونَ
- and we (would) have been
- mina
- مِنَ
- of
- l-mu'minīna
- ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
- the believers?"
And if not that a disaster should strike them for what their hands put forth [of sins] and they would say, "Our Lord, why did You not send us a messenger so we could have followed Your verses and been among the believers?"... (QS. [28] Al-Qasas: 47)Tafsir
فَلَمَّا جَاۤءَهُمُ الْحَقُّ مِنْ عِنْدِنَا قَالُوْا لَوْلَآ اُوْتِيَ مِثْلَ مَآ اُوْتِيَ مُوْسٰىۗ اَوَلَمْ يَكْفُرُوْا بِمَآ اُوْتِيَ مُوْسٰى مِنْ قَبْلُۚ قَالُوْا سِحْرٰنِ تَظَاهَرَاۗ وَقَالُوْٓا اِنَّا بِكُلٍّ كٰفِرُوْنَ ٤٨
- falammā
- فَلَمَّا
- But when
- jāahumu
- جَآءَهُمُ
- came to them
- l-ḥaqu
- ٱلْحَقُّ
- the truth
- min
- مِنْ
- from Us
- ʿindinā
- عِندِنَا
- from Us
- qālū
- قَالُوا۟
- they said
- lawlā
- لَوْلَآ
- "Why not
- ūtiya
- أُوتِىَ
- he was given
- mith'la
- مِثْلَ
- (the) like
- mā
- مَآ
- (of) what
- ūtiya
- أُوتِىَ
- was given
- mūsā
- مُوسَىٰٓۚ
- (to) Musa?"
- awalam
- أَوَلَمْ
- Did not
- yakfurū
- يَكْفُرُوا۟
- they disbelieve
- bimā
- بِمَآ
- in what
- ūtiya
- أُوتِىَ
- was given
- mūsā
- مُوسَىٰ
- (to) Musa
- min
- مِن
- before?
- qablu
- قَبْلُۖ
- before?
- qālū
- قَالُوا۟
- They said
- siḥ'rāni
- سِحْرَانِ
- "Two magic (works)
- taẓāharā
- تَظَٰهَرَا
- supporting each other"
- waqālū
- وَقَالُوٓا۟
- And they said
- innā
- إِنَّا
- "Indeed, we
- bikullin
- بِكُلٍّ
- in all
- kāfirūna
- كَٰفِرُونَ
- (are) disbelievers"
But when the truth came to them from Us, they said, "Why was he not given like that which was given to Moses?" Did they not disbelieve in that which was given to Moses before? They said, "[They are but] two works of magic supporting each other, and indeed we are, in both, disbelievers." (QS. [28] Al-Qasas: 48)Tafsir
قُلْ فَأْتُوْا بِكِتٰبٍ مِّنْ عِنْدِ اللّٰهِ هُوَ اَهْدٰى مِنْهُمَآ اَتَّبِعْهُ اِنْ كُنْتُمْ صٰدِقِيْنَ ٤٩
- qul
- قُلْ
- Say
- fatū
- فَأْتُوا۟
- "Then bring
- bikitābin
- بِكِتَٰبٍ
- a Book
- min
- مِّنْ
- from Allah
- ʿindi
- عِندِ
- from Allah
- l-lahi
- ٱللَّهِ
- from Allah
- huwa
- هُوَ
- which
- ahdā
- أَهْدَىٰ
- (is) a better guide
- min'humā
- مِنْهُمَآ
- than both of them
- attabiʿ'hu
- أَتَّبِعْهُ
- that I may follow it
- in
- إِن
- if
- kuntum
- كُنتُمْ
- you are
- ṣādiqīna
- صَٰدِقِينَ
- truthful"
Say, "Then bring a scripture from Allah which is more guiding than either of them that I may follow it, if you should be truthful." (QS. [28] Al-Qasas: 49)Tafsir
فَاِنْ لَّمْ يَسْتَجِيْبُوْا لَكَ فَاعْلَمْ اَنَّمَا يَتَّبِعُوْنَ اَهْوَاۤءَهُمْۗ وَمَنْ اَضَلُّ مِمَّنِ اتَّبَعَ هَوٰىهُ بِغَيْرِ هُدًى مِّنَ اللّٰهِ ۗاِنَّ اللّٰهَ لَا يَهْدِى الْقَوْمَ الظّٰلِمِيْنَ ࣖ ٥٠
- fa-in
- فَإِن
- But if
- lam
- لَّمْ
- not
- yastajībū
- يَسْتَجِيبُوا۟
- they respond
- laka
- لَكَ
- to you
- fa-iʿ'lam
- فَٱعْلَمْ
- then know
- annamā
- أَنَّمَا
- that only
- yattabiʿūna
- يَتَّبِعُونَ
- they follow
- ahwāahum
- أَهْوَآءَهُمْۚ
- their desires
- waman
- وَمَنْ
- And who
- aḍallu
- أَضَلُّ
- (is) more astray
- mimmani
- مِمَّنِ
- than (one) who
- ittabaʿa
- ٱتَّبَعَ
- follows
- hawāhu
- هَوَىٰهُ
- his own desire
- bighayri
- بِغَيْرِ
- without
- hudan
- هُدًى
- guidance
- mina
- مِّنَ
- from
- l-lahi
- ٱللَّهِۚ
- Allah?
- inna
- إِنَّ
- Indeed
- l-laha
- ٱللَّهَ
- Allah
- lā
- لَا
- (does) not
- yahdī
- يَهْدِى
- guide
- l-qawma
- ٱلْقَوْمَ
- the people -
- l-ẓālimīna
- ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ
- the wrongdoers
But if they do not respond to you – then know that they only follow their [own] desires. And who is more astray than one who follows his desire without guidance from Allah? Indeed, Allah does not guide the wrongdoing people. (QS. [28] Al-Qasas: 50)Tafsir
