۞ وَلَقَدْ اٰتَيْنَآ اِبْرٰهِيْمَ رُشْدَهٗ مِنْ قَبْلُ وَكُنَّا بِهٖ عٰلِمِيْنَ ٥١
- walaqad
- وَلَقَدْ
- And verily
- ātaynā
- ءَاتَيْنَآ
- We gave
- ib'rāhīma
- إِبْرَٰهِيمَ
- Ibrahim
- rush'dahu
- رُشْدَهُۥ
- his guidance
- min
- مِن
- before
- qablu
- قَبْلُ
- before
- wakunnā
- وَكُنَّا
- and We were
- bihi
- بِهِۦ
- about him
- ʿālimīna
- عَٰلِمِينَ
- Well-Knowing
And We had certainly given Abraham his sound judgement before, and We were of him well-Knowing (QS. [21] Al-Anbya: 51)Tafsir
اِذْ قَالَ لِاَبِيْهِ وَقَوْمِهٖ مَا هٰذِهِ التَّمَاثِيْلُ الَّتِيْٓ اَنْتُمْ لَهَا عَاكِفُوْنَ ٥٢
- idh
- إِذْ
- When
- qāla
- قَالَ
- he said
- li-abīhi
- لِأَبِيهِ
- to his father
- waqawmihi
- وَقَوْمِهِۦ
- and his people
- mā
- مَا
- "What
- hādhihi
- هَٰذِهِ
- (are) these
- l-tamāthīlu
- ٱلتَّمَاثِيلُ
- [the] statues
- allatī
- ٱلَّتِىٓ
- which
- antum
- أَنتُمْ
- you
- lahā
- لَهَا
- to it
- ʿākifūna
- عَٰكِفُونَ
- (are) devoted?"
When he said to his father and his people, "What are these statues to which you are devoted?" (QS. [21] Al-Anbya: 52)Tafsir
قَالُوْا وَجَدْنَآ اٰبَاۤءَنَا لَهَا عٰبِدِيْنَ ٥٣
- qālū
- قَالُوا۟
- They said
- wajadnā
- وَجَدْنَآ
- "We found
- ābāanā
- ءَابَآءَنَا
- our forefathers
- lahā
- لَهَا
- of them
- ʿābidīna
- عَٰبِدِينَ
- worshippers"
They said, "We found our fathers worshippers of them." (QS. [21] Al-Anbya: 53)Tafsir
قَالَ لَقَدْ كُنْتُمْ اَنْتُمْ وَاٰبَاۤؤُكُمْ فِيْ ضَلٰلٍ مُّبِيْنٍ ٥٤
- qāla
- قَالَ
- He said
- laqad
- لَقَدْ
- "Verily
- kuntum
- كُنتُمْ
- you are
- antum
- أَنتُمْ
- [you]
- waābāukum
- وَءَابَآؤُكُمْ
- and your forefathers
- fī
- فِى
- (were) in
- ḍalālin
- ضَلَٰلٍ
- an error
- mubīnin
- مُّبِينٍ
- manifest"
He said, "You were certainly, you and your fathers, in manifest error." (QS. [21] Al-Anbya: 54)Tafsir
قَالُوْٓا اَجِئْتَنَا بِالْحَقِّ اَمْ اَنْتَ مِنَ اللّٰعِبِيْنَ ٥٥
- qālū
- قَالُوٓا۟
- They said
- aji'tanā
- أَجِئْتَنَا
- "Have you come to us
- bil-ḥaqi
- بِٱلْحَقِّ
- with the truth
- am
- أَمْ
- or
- anta
- أَنتَ
- you
- mina
- مِنَ
- (are) of
- l-lāʿibīna
- ٱللَّٰعِبِينَ
- those who play?"
They said, "Have you come to us with truth, or are you of those who jest?" (QS. [21] Al-Anbya: 55)Tafsir
قَالَ بَلْ رَّبُّكُمْ رَبُّ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالْاَرْضِ الَّذِيْ فَطَرَهُنَّۖ وَاَنَا۠ عَلٰى ذٰلِكُمْ مِّنَ الشّٰهِدِيْنَ ٥٦
- qāla
- قَالَ
- He said
- bal
- بَل
- "Nay
- rabbukum
- رَّبُّكُمْ
- your Lord
- rabbu
- رَبُّ
- (is the) Lord
- l-samāwāti
- ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ
- (of) the heavens
- wal-arḍi
- وَٱلْأَرْضِ
- and the earth
- alladhī
- ٱلَّذِى
- the One Who
- faṭarahunna
- فَطَرَهُنَّ
- created them
- wa-anā
- وَأَنَا۠
- and I am
- ʿalā
- عَلَىٰ
- to
- dhālikum
- ذَٰلِكُم
- that
- mina
- مِّنَ
- of
- l-shāhidīna
- ٱلشَّٰهِدِينَ
- the witnesses
He said, "[No], rather, your Lord is the Lord of the heavens and the earth who created them, and I, to that, am of those who testify. (QS. [21] Al-Anbya: 56)Tafsir
وَتَاللّٰهِ لَاَكِيْدَنَّ اَصْنَامَكُمْ بَعْدَ اَنْ تُوَلُّوْا مُدْبِرِيْنَ ٥٧
- watal-lahi
- وَتَٱللَّهِ
- And by Allah
- la-akīdanna
- لَأَكِيدَنَّ
- surely I will plan
- aṣnāmakum
- أَصْنَٰمَكُم
- (against) your idols
- baʿda
- بَعْدَ
- after
- an
- أَن
- [that]
- tuwallū
- تُوَلُّوا۟
- you go away
- mud'birīna
- مُدْبِرِينَ
- turning (your) backs"
And [I swear] by Allah, I will surely plan against your idols after you have turned and gone away." (QS. [21] Al-Anbya: 57)Tafsir
فَجَعَلَهُمْ جُذَاذًا اِلَّا كَبِيْرًا لَّهُمْ لَعَلَّهُمْ اِلَيْهِ يَرْجِعُوْنَ ٥٨
- fajaʿalahum
- فَجَعَلَهُمْ
- So he made them
- judhādhan
- جُذَٰذًا
- (into) pieces
- illā
- إِلَّا
- except
- kabīran
- كَبِيرًا
- a large (one)
- lahum
- لَّهُمْ
- of them
- laʿallahum
- لَعَلَّهُمْ
- so that they may
- ilayhi
- إِلَيْهِ
- to it
- yarjiʿūna
- يَرْجِعُونَ
- return
So he made them into fragments, except a large one among them, that they might return to it [and question]. (QS. [21] Al-Anbya: 58)Tafsir
قَالُوْا مَنْ فَعَلَ هٰذَا بِاٰلِهَتِنَآ اِنَّهٗ لَمِنَ الظّٰلِمِيْنَ ٥٩
- qālū
- قَالُوا۟
- They said
- man
- مَن
- "Who
- faʿala
- فَعَلَ
- (has) done
- hādhā
- هَٰذَا
- this
- biālihatinā
- بِـَٔالِهَتِنَآ
- to our gods?
- innahu
- إِنَّهُۥ
- Indeed he
- lamina
- لَمِنَ
- (is) of
- l-ẓālimīna
- ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ
- the wrongdoers"
They said, "Who has done this to our gods? Indeed, he is of the wrongdoers." (QS. [21] Al-Anbya: 59)Tafsir
قَالُوْا سَمِعْنَا فَتًى يَّذْكُرُهُمْ يُقَالُ لَهٗٓ اِبْرٰهِيْمُ ۗ ٦٠
- qālū
- قَالُوا۟
- They said
- samiʿ'nā
- سَمِعْنَا
- "We heard
- fatan
- فَتًى
- a youth
- yadhkuruhum
- يَذْكُرُهُمْ
- mention them
- yuqālu
- يُقَالُ
- he is called
- lahu
- لَهُۥٓ
- he is called
- ib'rāhīmu
- إِبْرَٰهِيمُ
- Ibrahim"
They said, "We heard a young man mention them who is called Abraham." (QS. [21] Al-Anbya: 60)Tafsir
