(The Bee)

61

وَلَوْ يُؤَاخِذُ اللّٰهُ النَّاسَ بِظُلْمِهِمْ مَّا تَرَكَ عَلَيْهَا مِنْ دَاۤبَّةٍ وَّلٰكِنْ يُّؤَخِّرُهُمْ اِلٰٓى اَجَلٍ مُّسَمًّىۚ فَاِذَا جَاۤءَ اَجَلُهُمْ لَا يَسْتَأْخِرُوْنَ سَاعَةً وَّلَا يَسْتَقْدِمُوْنَ ٦١

walaw
وَلَوْ
And if
yuākhidhu
يُؤَاخِذُ
Allah were to seize
l-lahu
ٱللَّهُ
Allah were to seize
l-nāsa
ٱلنَّاسَ
the mankind
biẓul'mihim
بِظُلْمِهِم
for their wrongdoing
مَّا
not
taraka
تَرَكَ
He (would) have left
ʿalayhā
عَلَيْهَا
upon it
min
مِن
any
dābbatin
دَآبَّةٍ
moving creature
walākin
وَلَٰكِن
but
yu-akhiruhum
يُؤَخِّرُهُمْ
He defers them
ilā
إِلَىٰٓ
for
ajalin
أَجَلٍ
a term
musamman
مُّسَمًّىۖ
appointed
fa-idhā
فَإِذَا
Then when
jāa
جَآءَ
comes
ajaluhum
أَجَلُهُمْ
their terms
لَا
not
yastakhirūna
يَسْتَـْٔخِرُونَ
they (will) remain behind
sāʿatan
سَاعَةًۖ
an hour
walā
وَلَا
and not
yastaqdimūna
يَسْتَقْدِمُونَ
they can advance (it)
And if Allah were to impose blame on the people for their wrongdoing, He would not have left upon it [i.e., the earth] any creature, but He defers them for a specified term. And when their term has come, they will not remain behind an hour, nor will they precede [it]. (QS. [16] An-Nahl: 61)
Tafsir
62

وَيَجْعَلُوْنَ لِلّٰهِ مَا يَكْرَهُوْنَ وَتَصِفُ اَلْسِنَتُهُمُ الْكَذِبَ اَنَّ لَهُمُ الْحُسْنٰى لَا جَرَمَ اَنَّ لَهُمُ النَّارَ وَاَنَّهُمْ مُّفْرَطُوْنَ ٦٢

wayajʿalūna
وَيَجْعَلُونَ
And they assign
lillahi
لِلَّهِ
to Allah
مَا
what
yakrahūna
يَكْرَهُونَ
they dislike
wataṣifu
وَتَصِفُ
and assert
alsinatuhumu
أَلْسِنَتُهُمُ
their tongues
l-kadhiba
ٱلْكَذِبَ
the lie
anna
أَنَّ
that
lahumu
لَهُمُ
for them
l-ḥus'nā
ٱلْحُسْنَىٰۖ
(is) the best
لَا
No
jarama
جَرَمَ
doubt
anna
أَنَّ
that
lahumu
لَهُمُ
for them
l-nāra
ٱلنَّارَ
(is) the Fire
wa-annahum
وَأَنَّهُم
and that they
muf'raṭūna
مُّفْرَطُونَ
(will) be abandoned
And they attribute to Allah that which they dislike [i.e., daughters], and their tongues assert the lie that they will have the best [from Him]. Assuredly, they will have the Fire, and they will be [therein] neglected. (QS. [16] An-Nahl: 62)
Tafsir
63

تَاللّٰهِ لَقَدْ اَرْسَلْنَآ اِلٰٓى اُمَمٍ مِّنْ قَبْلِكَ فَزَيَّنَ لَهُمُ الشَّيْطٰنُ اَعْمَالَهُمْ فَهُوَ وَلِيُّهُمُ الْيَوْمَ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ اَلِيْمٌ ٦٣

tal-lahi
تَٱللَّهِ
By Allah
laqad
لَقَدْ
certainly
arsalnā
أَرْسَلْنَآ
We have sent
ilā
إِلَىٰٓ
to
umamin
أُمَمٍ
nations
min
مِّن
before you
qablika
قَبْلِكَ
before you
fazayyana
فَزَيَّنَ
but made fair-seeming
lahumu
لَهُمُ
to them
l-shayṭānu
ٱلشَّيْطَٰنُ
the Shaitaan
aʿmālahum
أَعْمَٰلَهُمْ
their deeds
fahuwa
فَهُوَ
So he
waliyyuhumu
وَلِيُّهُمُ
(is) their ally
l-yawma
ٱلْيَوْمَ
today
walahum
وَلَهُمْ
and for them
ʿadhābun
عَذَابٌ
(is) a punishment
alīmun
أَلِيمٌ
painful
By Allah, We did certainly send [messengers] to nations before you, but Satan made their deeds attractive to them. And he is their [i.e., the disbelievers] ally today [as well], and they will have a painful punishment. (QS. [16] An-Nahl: 63)
Tafsir
64

وَمَآ اَنْزَلْنَا عَلَيْكَ الْكِتٰبَ اِلَّا لِتُبَيِّنَ لَهُمُ الَّذِى اخْتَلَفُوْا فِيْهِۙ وَهُدًى وَّرَحْمَةً لِّقَوْمٍ يُّؤْمِنُوْنَ ٦٤

wamā
وَمَآ
And not
anzalnā
أَنزَلْنَا
We revealed
ʿalayka
عَلَيْكَ
to you
l-kitāba
ٱلْكِتَٰبَ
the Book
illā
إِلَّا
except
litubayyina
لِتُبَيِّنَ
that you make clear
lahumu
لَهُمُ
to them
alladhī
ٱلَّذِى
that which
ikh'talafū
ٱخْتَلَفُوا۟
they differed
fīhi
فِيهِۙ
in it
wahudan
وَهُدًى
and (as) a guidance
waraḥmatan
وَرَحْمَةً
and mercy
liqawmin
لِّقَوْمٍ
for a people
yu'minūna
يُؤْمِنُونَ
who believe
And We have not revealed to you the Book, [O Muhammad], except for you to make clear to them that wherein they have differed and as guidance and mercy for a people who believe. (QS. [16] An-Nahl: 64)
Tafsir
65

وَاللّٰهُ اَنْزَلَ مِنَ السَّمَاۤءِ مَاۤءً فَاَحْيَا بِهِ الْاَرْضَ بَعْدَ مَوْتِهَاۗ اِنَّ فِيْ ذٰلِكَ لَاٰيَةً لِّقَوْمٍ يَّسْمَعُوْنَ ࣖ ٦٥

wal-lahu
وَٱللَّهُ
And Allah
anzala
أَنزَلَ
sends down
mina
مِنَ
from
l-samāi
ٱلسَّمَآءِ
the sky
māan
مَآءً
water
fa-aḥyā
فَأَحْيَا
then gives life
bihi
بِهِ
by it
l-arḍa
ٱلْأَرْضَ
(to) the earth
baʿda
بَعْدَ
after
mawtihā
مَوْتِهَآۚ
its death
inna
إِنَّ
Indeed
فِى
in
dhālika
ذَٰلِكَ
that
laāyatan
لَءَايَةً
(is) surely a Sign
liqawmin
لِّقَوْمٍ
for a people
yasmaʿūna
يَسْمَعُونَ
who listen
And Allah has sent down rain from the sky and given life thereby to the earth after its lifelessness. Indeed in that is a sign for a people who listen. (QS. [16] An-Nahl: 65)
Tafsir
66

وَاِنَّ لَكُمْ فِى الْاَنْعَامِ لَعِبْرَةً ۚ نُسْقِيْكُمْ مِّمَّا فِيْ بُطُوْنِهٖ مِنْۢ بَيْنِ فَرْثٍ وَّدَمٍ لَّبَنًا خَالِصًا سَاۤىِٕغًا لِّلشّٰرِبِيْنَ ٦٦

wa-inna
وَإِنَّ
And indeed
lakum
لَكُمْ
for you
فِى
in
l-anʿāmi
ٱلْأَنْعَٰمِ
the cattle
laʿib'ratan
لَعِبْرَةًۖ
(is) a lesson
nus'qīkum
نُّسْقِيكُم
We give you to drink
mimmā
مِّمَّا
from what
فِى
(is) in
buṭūnihi
بُطُونِهِۦ
their bellies
min
مِنۢ
from
bayni
بَيْنِ
between
farthin
فَرْثٍ
bowels
wadamin
وَدَمٍ
and blood
labanan
لَّبَنًا
milk
khāliṣan
خَالِصًا
pure
sāighan
سَآئِغًا
palatable
lilshāribīna
لِّلشَّٰرِبِينَ
to the drinkers
And indeed, for you in grazing livestock is a lesson. We give you drink from what is in their bellies – between excretion and blood – pure milk, palatable to drinkers. (QS. [16] An-Nahl: 66)
Tafsir
67

وَمِنْ ثَمَرٰتِ النَّخِيْلِ وَالْاَعْنَابِ تَتَّخِذُوْنَ مِنْهُ سَكَرًا وَّرِزْقًا حَسَنًاۗ اِنَّ فِيْ ذٰلِكَ لَاٰيَةً لِّقَوْمٍ يَّعْقِلُوْنَ ٦٧

wamin
وَمِن
And from
thamarāti
ثَمَرَٰتِ
fruits
l-nakhīli
ٱلنَّخِيلِ
the date-palm
wal-aʿnābi
وَٱلْأَعْنَٰبِ
and the grapes
tattakhidhūna
تَتَّخِذُونَ
you take
min'hu
مِنْهُ
from it
sakaran
سَكَرًا
intoxicant
wariz'qan
وَرِزْقًا
and a provision
ḥasanan
حَسَنًاۗ
good
inna
إِنَّ
Indeed
فِى
in
dhālika
ذَٰلِكَ
that
laāyatan
لَءَايَةً
(is) surely a Sign
liqawmin
لِّقَوْمٍ
for a people
yaʿqilūna
يَعْقِلُونَ
who use reason
And from the fruits of the palm trees and grapevines you take intoxicant and good provision. Indeed in that is a sign for a people who reason. (QS. [16] An-Nahl: 67)
Tafsir
68

وَاَوْحٰى رَبُّكَ اِلَى النَّحْلِ اَنِ اتَّخِذِيْ مِنَ الْجِبَالِ بُيُوْتًا وَّمِنَ الشَّجَرِ وَمِمَّا يَعْرِشُوْنَۙ ٦٨

wa-awḥā
وَأَوْحَىٰ
And inspired
rabbuka
رَبُّكَ
your Lord
ilā
إِلَى
to
l-naḥli
ٱلنَّحْلِ
the bee
ani
أَنِ
[that]
ittakhidhī
ٱتَّخِذِى
"Take
mina
مِنَ
among
l-jibāli
ٱلْجِبَالِ
the mountains
buyūtan
بُيُوتًا
houses
wamina
وَمِنَ
and among
l-shajari
ٱلشَّجَرِ
the trees
wamimmā
وَمِمَّا
and in what
yaʿrishūna
يَعْرِشُونَ
they construct
And your Lord inspired to the bee, "Take for yourself among the mountains, houses [i.e., hives], and among the trees and [in] that which they construct. (QS. [16] An-Nahl: 68)
Tafsir
69

ثُمَّ كُلِيْ مِنْ كُلِّ الثَّمَرٰتِ فَاسْلُكِيْ سُبُلَ رَبِّكِ ذُلُلًاۗ يَخْرُجُ مِنْ بُطُوْنِهَا شَرَابٌ مُّخْتَلِفٌ اَلْوَانُهٗ ۖفِيْهِ شِفَاۤءٌ لِّلنَّاسِۗ اِنَّ فِيْ ذٰلِكَ لَاٰيَةً لِّقَوْمٍ يَّتَفَكَّرُوْنَ ٦٩

ثُمَّ
Then
kulī
كُلِى
eat
min
مِن
from
kulli
كُلِّ
all
l-thamarāti
ٱلثَّمَرَٰتِ
the fruits
fa-us'lukī
فَٱسْلُكِى
and follow
subula
سُبُلَ
(the) ways
rabbiki
رَبِّكِ
(of) your Lord
dhululan
ذُلُلًاۚ
made smooth"
yakhruju
يَخْرُجُ
Comes forth
min
مِنۢ
from
buṭūnihā
بُطُونِهَا
their bellies
sharābun
شَرَابٌ
a drink
mukh'talifun
مُّخْتَلِفٌ
(of) varying
alwānuhu
أَلْوَٰنُهُۥ
colors
fīhi
فِيهِ
in it
shifāon
شِفَآءٌ
(is) a healing
lilnnāsi
لِّلنَّاسِۗ
for the mankind
inna
إِنَّ
Indeed
فِى
in
dhālika
ذَٰلِكَ
that
laāyatan
لَءَايَةً
(is) surely a Sign
liqawmin
لِّقَوْمٍ
for a people
yatafakkarūna
يَتَفَكَّرُونَ
who reflect
Then eat from all the fruits and follow the ways of your Lord laid down [for you]." There emerges from their bellies a drink, varying in colors, in which there is healing for people. Indeed in that is a sign for a people who give thought. (QS. [16] An-Nahl: 69)
Tafsir
70

وَاللّٰهُ خَلَقَكُمْ ثُمَّ يَتَوَفّٰىكُمْ وَمِنْكُمْ مَّنْ يُّرَدُّ اِلٰٓى اَرْذَلِ الْعُمُرِ لِكَيْ لَا يَعْلَمَ بَعْدَ عِلْمٍ شَيْـًٔاۗ اِنَّ اللّٰهَ عَلِيْمٌ قَدِيْرٌ ࣖ ٧٠

wal-lahu
وَٱللَّهُ
And Allah
khalaqakum
خَلَقَكُمْ
created you
thumma
ثُمَّ
then
yatawaffākum
يَتَوَفَّىٰكُمْۚ
will cause you to die
waminkum
وَمِنكُم
And among you
man
مَّن
(is one) who
yuraddu
يُرَدُّ
is sent back
ilā
إِلَىٰٓ
to
ardhali
أَرْذَلِ
the worst
l-ʿumuri
ٱلْعُمُرِ
(of) the age
likay
لِكَىْ
so that
لَا
not
yaʿlama
يَعْلَمَ
he will know
baʿda
بَعْدَ
after
ʿil'min
عِلْمٍ
knowledge
shayan
شَيْـًٔاۚ
a thing
inna
إِنَّ
Indeed
l-laha
ٱللَّهَ
Allah
ʿalīmun
عَلِيمٌ
(is) All-Knowing
qadīrun
قَدِيرٌ
All-Powerful
And Allah created you; then He will take you in death. And among you is he who is reversed to the most decrepit [old] age so that he will not know, after [having had] knowledge, a thing. Indeed, Allah is Knowing and Competent. (QS. [16] An-Nahl: 70)
Tafsir
