فَلَمَّا جَاۤءَ اٰلَ لُوْطِ ِۨالْمُرْسَلُوْنَۙ ٦١
- falammā
- فَلَمَّا
- And when
- jāa
- جَآءَ
- came
- āla
- ءَالَ
- (to the) family
- lūṭin
- لُوطٍ
- (of) Lut
- l-mur'salūna
- ٱلْمُرْسَلُونَ
- the messengers
And when the messengers came to the family of Lot, (QS. [15] Al-Hijr: 61)Tafsir
62
قَالَ اِنَّكُمْ قَوْمٌ مُّنْكَرُوْنَ ٦٢
- qāla
- قَالَ
- He said
- innakum
- إِنَّكُمْ
- "Indeed you
- qawmun
- قَوْمٌ
- (are) a people
- munkarūna
- مُّنكَرُونَ
- unknown"
He said, "Indeed, you are people unknown." (QS. [15] Al-Hijr: 62)Tafsir
63
قَالُوْا بَلْ جِئْنٰكَ بِمَا كَانُوْا فِيْهِ يَمْتَرُوْنَ ٦٣
- qālū
- قَالُوا۟
- They said
- bal
- بَلْ
- "Nay
- ji'nāka
- جِئْنَٰكَ
- we have come to you
- bimā
- بِمَا
- with what
- kānū
- كَانُوا۟
- they were
- fīhi
- فِيهِ
- in it
- yamtarūna
- يَمْتَرُونَ
- disputing
They said, "But we have come to you with that about which they were disputing, (QS. [15] Al-Hijr: 63)Tafsir
64
وَاَتَيْنٰكَ بِالْحَقِّ وَاِنَّا لَصٰدِقُوْنَ ٦٤
- wa-ataynāka
- وَأَتَيْنَٰكَ
- And we have come to you
- bil-ḥaqi
- بِٱلْحَقِّ
- with the truth
- wa-innā
- وَإِنَّا
- and indeed we
- laṣādiqūna
- لَصَٰدِقُونَ
- surely (are) truthful
And we have come to you with truth, and indeed, we are truthful. (QS. [15] Al-Hijr: 64)Tafsir
65
فَاَسْرِ بِاَهْلِكَ بِقِطْعٍ مِّنَ الَّيْلِ وَاتَّبِعْ اَدْبَارَهُمْ وَلَا يَلْتَفِتْ مِنْكُمْ اَحَدٌ وَّامْضُوْا حَيْثُ تُؤْمَرُوْنَ ٦٥
- fa-asri
- فَأَسْرِ
- So travel
- bi-ahlika
- بِأَهْلِكَ
- with your family
- biqiṭ'ʿin
- بِقِطْعٍ
- in a portion
- mina
- مِّنَ
- of
- al-layli
- ٱلَّيْلِ
- the night
- wa-ittabiʿ
- وَٱتَّبِعْ
- and follow
- adbārahum
- أَدْبَٰرَهُمْ
- their backs
- walā
- وَلَا
- and not
- yaltafit
- يَلْتَفِتْ
- let look back
- minkum
- مِنكُمْ
- among you
- aḥadun
- أَحَدٌ
- anyone
- wa-im'ḍū
- وَٱمْضُوا۟
- and go on
- ḥaythu
- حَيْثُ
- where
- tu'marūna
- تُؤْمَرُونَ
- you are ordered"
So set out with your family during a portion of the night and follow behind them and let not anyone among you look back and continue on to where you are commanded." (QS. [15] Al-Hijr: 65)Tafsir
66
وَقَضَيْنَآ اِلَيْهِ ذٰلِكَ الْاَمْرَ اَنَّ دَابِرَ هٰٓؤُلَاۤءِ مَقْطُوْعٌ مُّصْبِحِيْنَ ٦٦
- waqaḍaynā
- وَقَضَيْنَآ
- And We conveyed
- ilayhi
- إِلَيْهِ
- to him
- dhālika
- ذَٰلِكَ
- [that]
- l-amra
- ٱلْأَمْرَ
- the matter
- anna
- أَنَّ
- that
- dābira
- دَابِرَ
- (the) root
- hāulāi
- هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ
- (of) these
- maqṭūʿun
- مَقْطُوعٌ
- would be cut off
- muṣ'biḥīna
- مُّصْبِحِينَ
- (by) early morning
And We conveyed to him [the decree] of that matter: that those [sinners] would be eliminated by early morning. (QS. [15] Al-Hijr: 66)Tafsir
67
وَجَاۤءَ اَهْلُ الْمَدِيْنَةِ يَسْتَبْشِرُوْنَ ٦٧
- wajāa
- وَجَآءَ
- And came
- ahlu
- أَهْلُ
- (the) people
- l-madīnati
- ٱلْمَدِينَةِ
- (of) the city
- yastabshirūna
- يَسْتَبْشِرُونَ
- rejoicing
And the people of the city came rejoicing. (QS. [15] Al-Hijr: 67)Tafsir
68
قَالَ اِنَّ هٰٓؤُلَاۤءِ ضَيْفِيْ فَلَا تَفْضَحُوْنِۙ ٦٨
- qāla
- قَالَ
- He said
- inna
- إِنَّ
- "Indeed
- hāulāi
- هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ
- these
- ḍayfī
- ضَيْفِى
- (are) my guests
- falā
- فَلَا
- so (do) not
- tafḍaḥūni
- تَفْضَحُونِ
- shame me
[Lot] said, "Indeed, these are my guests, so do not shame me. (QS. [15] Al-Hijr: 68)Tafsir
69
وَاتَّقُوا اللّٰهَ وَلَا تُخْزُوْنِ ٦٩
- wa-ittaqū
- وَٱتَّقُوا۟
- And fear
- l-laha
- ٱللَّهَ
- Allah
- walā
- وَلَا
- and (do) not
- tukh'zūni
- تُخْزُونِ
- disgrace me"
And fear Allah and do not disgrace me." (QS. [15] Al-Hijr: 69)Tafsir
70
قَالُوْٓا اَوَلَمْ نَنْهَكَ عَنِ الْعٰلَمِيْنَ ٧٠
- qālū
- قَالُوٓا۟
- They said
- awalam
- أَوَلَمْ
- "Did not
- nanhaka
- نَنْهَكَ
- we forbid you
- ʿani
- عَنِ
- from
- l-ʿālamīna
- ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ
- the world?"
They said, "Have we not forbidden you from [protecting] people?" (QS. [15] Al-Hijr: 70)Tafsir
