وَنَبِّئْهُمْ عَنْ ضَيْفِ اِبْرٰهِيْمَۘ ٥١
- wanabbi'hum
- وَنَبِّئْهُمْ
- And inform them
- ʿan
- عَن
- about
- ḍayfi
- ضَيْفِ
- (the) guests
- ib'rāhīma
- إِبْرَٰهِيمَ
- (of) Ibrahim
And inform them about the guests of Abraham, (QS. [15] Al-Hijr: 51)Tafsir
52
اِذْ دَخَلُوْا عَلَيْهِ فَقَالُوْا سَلٰمًاۗ قَالَ اِنَّا مِنْكُمْ وَجِلُوْنَ ٥٢
- idh
- إِذْ
- When
- dakhalū
- دَخَلُوا۟
- they entered
- ʿalayhi
- عَلَيْهِ
- upon him
- faqālū
- فَقَالُوا۟
- and said
- salāman
- سَلَٰمًا
- "Peace"
- qāla
- قَالَ
- He said
- innā
- إِنَّا
- "Indeed we
- minkum
- مِنكُمْ
- (are) of you
- wajilūna
- وَجِلُونَ
- afraid"
When they entered upon him and said, "Peace." [Abraham] said, "Indeed, we are fearful [i.e., apprehensive] of you." (QS. [15] Al-Hijr: 52)Tafsir
53
قَالُوْا لَا تَوْجَلْ اِنَّا نُبَشِّرُكَ بِغُلٰمٍ عَلِيْمٍ ٥٣
- qālū
- قَالُوا۟
- They said
- lā
- لَا
- "(Do) not
- tawjal
- تَوْجَلْ
- be afraid
- innā
- إِنَّا
- indeed we
- nubashiruka
- نُبَشِّرُكَ
- [we] bring glad tidings to you
- bighulāmin
- بِغُلَٰمٍ
- of a boy
- ʿalīmin
- عَلِيمٍ
- learned"
[The angels] said, "Fear not. Indeed, we give you good tidings of a learned boy." (QS. [15] Al-Hijr: 53)Tafsir
54
قَالَ اَبَشَّرْتُمُوْنِيْ عَلٰٓى اَنْ مَّسَّنِيَ الْكِبَرُ فَبِمَ تُبَشِّرُوْنَ ٥٤
- qāla
- قَالَ
- He said
- abashartumūnī
- أَبَشَّرْتُمُونِى
- "Do you give me glad tidings
- ʿalā
- عَلَىٰٓ
- "Do you give me glad tidings
- an
- أَن
- although
- massaniya
- مَّسَّنِىَ
- has overtaken me
- l-kibaru
- ٱلْكِبَرُ
- old age?
- fabima
- فَبِمَ
- Then about what
- tubashirūna
- تُبَشِّرُونَ
- you give glad tidings?"
He said, "Have you given me good tidings although old age has come upon me? Then of what [wonder] do you inform?" (QS. [15] Al-Hijr: 54)Tafsir
55
قَالُوْا بَشَّرْنٰكَ بِالْحَقِّ فَلَا تَكُنْ مِّنَ الْقٰنِطِيْنَ ٥٥
- qālū
- قَالُوا۟
- They said
- basharnāka
- بَشَّرْنَٰكَ
- "We give you glad tidings
- bil-ḥaqi
- بِٱلْحَقِّ
- in truth
- falā
- فَلَا
- so (do) not
- takun
- تَكُن
- be
- mina
- مِّنَ
- of
- l-qāniṭīna
- ٱلْقَٰنِطِينَ
- the despairing"
They said, "We have given you good tidings in truth, so do not be of the despairing." (QS. [15] Al-Hijr: 55)Tafsir
56
قَالَ وَمَنْ يَّقْنَطُ مِنْ رَّحْمَةِ رَبِّهٖٓ اِلَّا الضَّاۤلُّوْنَ ٥٦
- qāla
- قَالَ
- He said
- waman
- وَمَن
- "And who
- yaqnaṭu
- يَقْنَطُ
- despairs
- min
- مِن
- of
- raḥmati
- رَّحْمَةِ
- (the) Mercy
- rabbihi
- رَبِّهِۦٓ
- (of) his Lord
- illā
- إِلَّا
- except
- l-ḍālūna
- ٱلضَّآلُّونَ
- those who are astray
He said, "And who despairs of the mercy of his Lord except for those astray?" (QS. [15] Al-Hijr: 56)Tafsir
57
قَالَ فَمَا خَطْبُكُمْ اَيُّهَا الْمُرْسَلُوْنَ ٥٧
- qāla
- قَالَ
- He said
- famā
- فَمَا
- "Then what
- khaṭbukum
- خَطْبُكُمْ
- (is) your business
- ayyuhā
- أَيُّهَا
- O messengers?"
- l-mur'salūna
- ٱلْمُرْسَلُونَ
- O messengers?"
[Abraham] said, "Then what is your business [here], O messengers?" (QS. [15] Al-Hijr: 57)Tafsir
58
قَالُوْٓا اِنَّآ اُرْسِلْنَآ اِلٰى قَوْمٍ مُّجْرِمِيْنَۙ ٥٨
- qālū
- قَالُوٓا۟
- They said
- innā
- إِنَّآ
- "Indeed we
- ur'sil'nā
- أُرْسِلْنَآ
- [we] have been sent
- ilā
- إِلَىٰ
- to
- qawmin
- قَوْمٍ
- a people -
- muj'rimīna
- مُّجْرِمِينَ
- criminals
They said, "Indeed, we have been sent to a people of criminals, (QS. [15] Al-Hijr: 58)Tafsir
59
اِلَّآ اٰلَ لُوْطٍۗ اِنَّا لَمُنَجُّوْهُمْ اَجْمَعِيْنَۙ ٥٩
- illā
- إِلَّآ
- Except
- āla
- ءَالَ
- the family
- lūṭin
- لُوطٍ
- of Lut;
- innā
- إِنَّا
- indeed we
- lamunajjūhum
- لَمُنَجُّوهُمْ
- surely will save them
- ajmaʿīna
- أَجْمَعِينَ
- all
Except the family of Lot; indeed, we will save them all (QS. [15] Al-Hijr: 59)Tafsir
60
اِلَّا امْرَاَتَهٗ قَدَّرْنَآ اِنَّهَا لَمِنَ الْغٰبِرِيْنَ ࣖ ٦٠
- illā
- إِلَّا
- Except
- im'ra-atahu
- ٱمْرَأَتَهُۥ
- his wife"
- qaddarnā
- قَدَّرْنَآۙ
- We have decreed
- innahā
- إِنَّهَا
- that she
- lamina
- لَمِنَ
- (is) surely of
- l-ghābirīna
- ٱلْغَٰبِرِينَ
- those who remain behind
Except his wife." We [i.e., Allah] decreed that she is of those who remain behind. (QS. [15] Al-Hijr: 60)Tafsir
