اِلَّآ اِبْلِيْسَۗ اَبٰىٓ اَنْ يَّكُوْنَ مَعَ السّٰجِدِيْنَ ٣١
- illā
- إِلَّآ
- Except
- ib'līsa
- إِبْلِيسَ
- Iblis
- abā
- أَبَىٰٓ
- He refused
- an
- أَن
- to
- yakūna
- يَكُونَ
- be
- maʿa
- مَعَ
- with
- l-sājidīna
- ٱلسَّٰجِدِينَ
- those who prostrated
Except Iblees; he refused to be with those who prostrated. (QS. [15] Al-Hijr: 31)Tafsir
32
قَالَ يٰٓاِبْلِيْسُ مَا لَكَ اَلَّا تَكُوْنَ مَعَ السّٰجِدِيْنَ ٣٢
- qāla
- قَالَ
- He said
- yāib'līsu
- يَٰٓإِبْلِيسُ
- "O Iblis!
- mā
- مَا
- What
- laka
- لَكَ
- (is) for you
- allā
- أَلَّا
- that not
- takūna
- تَكُونَ
- you are
- maʿa
- مَعَ
- with
- l-sājidīna
- ٱلسَّٰجِدِينَ
- those who prostrated?"
[Allah] said, "O Iblees, what is [the matter] with you that you are not with those who prostrate?" (QS. [15] Al-Hijr: 32)Tafsir
33
قَالَ لَمْ اَكُنْ لِّاَسْجُدَ لِبَشَرٍ خَلَقْتَهٗ مِنْ صَلْصَالٍ مِّنْ حَمَاٍ مَّسْنُوْنٍ ٣٣
- qāla
- قَالَ
- He said
- lam
- لَمْ
- "I am not
- akun
- أَكُن
- "I am not
- li-asjuda
- لِّأَسْجُدَ
- (one) to prostrate
- libasharin
- لِبَشَرٍ
- to a human
- khalaqtahu
- خَلَقْتَهُۥ
- whom You created
- min
- مِن
- (out) of
- ṣalṣālin
- صَلْصَٰلٍ
- clay
- min
- مِّنْ
- from
- ḥama-in
- حَمَإٍ
- black mud
- masnūnin
- مَّسْنُونٍ
- altered"
He said, "Never would I prostrate to a human whom You created out of clay from an altered black mud." (QS. [15] Al-Hijr: 33)Tafsir
34
قَالَ فَاخْرُجْ مِنْهَا فَاِنَّكَ رَجِيْمٌۙ ٣٤
- qāla
- قَالَ
- He said
- fa-ukh'ruj
- فَٱخْرُجْ
- "Then get out
- min'hā
- مِنْهَا
- of it
- fa-innaka
- فَإِنَّكَ
- for indeed you
- rajīmun
- رَجِيمٌ
- (are) expelled
[Allah] said, "Then depart from it, for indeed, you are expelled. (QS. [15] Al-Hijr: 34)Tafsir
35
وَّاِنَّ عَلَيْكَ اللَّعْنَةَ اِلٰى يَوْمِ الدِّيْنِ ٣٥
- wa-inna
- وَإِنَّ
- And indeed
- ʿalayka
- عَلَيْكَ
- upon you
- l-laʿnata
- ٱللَّعْنَةَ
- (will be) the curse
- ilā
- إِلَىٰ
- till
- yawmi
- يَوْمِ
- (the) Day
- l-dīni
- ٱلدِّينِ
- (of) [the] Judgment"
And indeed, upon you is the curse until the Day of Recompense." (QS. [15] Al-Hijr: 35)Tafsir
36
قَالَ رَبِّ فَاَنْظِرْنِيْٓ اِلٰى يَوْمِ يُبْعَثُوْنَ ٣٦
- qāla
- قَالَ
- He said
- rabbi
- رَبِّ
- "O my Lord!
- fa-anẓir'nī
- فَأَنظِرْنِىٓ
- Then give me respite
- ilā
- إِلَىٰ
- till
- yawmi
- يَوْمِ
- (the) Day
- yub'ʿathūna
- يُبْعَثُونَ
- they are raised"
He said, "My Lord, then reprieve me until the Day they are resurrected." (QS. [15] Al-Hijr: 36)Tafsir
37
قَالَ فَاِنَّكَ مِنَ الْمُنْظَرِيْنَۙ ٣٧
- qāla
- قَالَ
- He said
- fa-innaka
- فَإِنَّكَ
- "Then indeed you
- mina
- مِنَ
- (are) of
- l-munẓarīna
- ٱلْمُنظَرِينَ
- the ones given respite
[Allah] said, "So indeed, you are of those reprieved (QS. [15] Al-Hijr: 37)Tafsir
38
اِلٰى يَوْمِ الْوَقْتِ الْمَعْلُوْمِ ٣٨
- ilā
- إِلَىٰ
- Till
- yawmi
- يَوْمِ
- the Day
- l-waqti
- ٱلْوَقْتِ
- (of) the time
- l-maʿlūmi
- ٱلْمَعْلُومِ
- well-known"
Until the Day of the time well-known." (QS. [15] Al-Hijr: 38)Tafsir
39
قَالَ رَبِّ بِمَآ اَغْوَيْتَنِيْ لَاُزَيِّنَنَّ لَهُمْ فِى الْاَرْضِ وَلَاُغْوِيَنَّهُمْ اَجْمَعِيْنَۙ ٣٩
- qāla
- قَالَ
- He said
- rabbi
- رَبِّ
- "My Lord!
- bimā
- بِمَآ
- Because
- aghwaytanī
- أَغْوَيْتَنِى
- You misled me
- la-uzayyinanna
- لَأُزَيِّنَنَّ
- surely I will make (evil) fair-seeming
- lahum
- لَهُمْ
- to them
- fī
- فِى
- in
- l-arḍi
- ٱلْأَرْضِ
- the earth
- wala-ugh'wiyannahum
- وَلَأُغْوِيَنَّهُمْ
- and I will mislead them
- ajmaʿīna
- أَجْمَعِينَ
- all
[Iblees] said, "My Lord, because You have put me in error, I will surely make [disobedience] attractive to them [i.e., mankind] on earth, and I will mislead them all. (QS. [15] Al-Hijr: 39)Tafsir
40
اِلَّا عِبَادَكَ مِنْهُمُ الْمُخْلَصِيْنَ ٤٠
- illā
- إِلَّا
- Except
- ʿibādaka
- عِبَادَكَ
- Your slaves
- min'humu
- مِنْهُمُ
- among them
- l-mukh'laṣīna
- ٱلْمُخْلَصِينَ
- the ones who are sincere"
Except, among them, Your chosen servants." (QS. [15] Al-Hijr: 40)Tafsir
