۞ وَاِلٰى ثَمُوْدَ اَخَاهُمْ صٰلِحًا ۘ قَالَ يٰقَوْمِ اعْبُدُوا اللّٰهَ مَا لَكُمْ مِّنْ اِلٰهٍ غَيْرُهٗ ۗهُوَ اَنْشَاَكُمْ مِّنَ الْاَرْضِ وَاسْتَعْمَرَكُمْ فِيْهَا فَاسْتَغْفِرُوْهُ ثُمَّ تُوْبُوْٓا اِلَيْهِ ۗاِنَّ رَبِّيْ قَرِيْبٌ مُّجِيْبٌ ٦١
- wa-ilā
- وَإِلَىٰ
- And to
- thamūda
- ثَمُودَ
- Thamud
- akhāhum
- أَخَاهُمْ
- (We sent) their brother
- ṣāliḥan
- صَٰلِحًاۚ
- Salih
- qāla
- قَالَ
- He said
- yāqawmi
- يَٰقَوْمِ
- "O my people!
- uʿ'budū
- ٱعْبُدُوا۟
- Worship
- l-laha
- ٱللَّهَ
- Allah
- mā
- مَا
- not
- lakum
- لَكُم
- you have
- min
- مِّنْ
- any
- ilāhin
- إِلَٰهٍ
- god
- ghayruhu
- غَيْرُهُۥۖ
- other than Him
- huwa
- هُوَ
- He
- ansha-akum
- أَنشَأَكُم
- produced you
- mina
- مِّنَ
- from
- l-arḍi
- ٱلْأَرْضِ
- the earth
- wa-is'taʿmarakum
- وَٱسْتَعْمَرَكُمْ
- and settled you
- fīhā
- فِيهَا
- in it
- fa-is'taghfirūhu
- فَٱسْتَغْفِرُوهُ
- So ask forgiveness of Him
- thumma
- ثُمَّ
- then
- tūbū
- تُوبُوٓا۟
- turn in repentance
- ilayhi
- إِلَيْهِۚ
- to Him
- inna
- إِنَّ
- Indeed
- rabbī
- رَبِّى
- my Lord
- qarībun
- قَرِيبٌ
- (is) near
- mujībun
- مُّجِيبٌ
- All-Responsive"
And to Thamud [We sent] their brother Saleh. He said, "O my people, worship Allah; you have no deity other than Him. He has produced you from the earth and settled you in it, so ask forgiveness of Him and then repent to Him. Indeed, my Lord is near and responsive." (QS. [11] Hud: 61)Tafsir
قَالُوْا يٰصٰلِحُ قَدْ كُنْتَ فِيْنَا مَرْجُوًّا قَبْلَ هٰذَآ اَتَنْهٰىنَآ اَنْ نَّعْبُدَ مَا يَعْبُدُ اٰبَاۤؤُنَا وَاِنَّنَا لَفِيْ شَكٍّ مِّمَّا تَدْعُوْنَآ اِلَيْهِ مُرِيْبٍ ٦٢
- qālū
- قَالُوا۟
- They said
- yāṣāliḥu
- يَٰصَٰلِحُ
- O Salih!
- qad
- قَدْ
- Verily
- kunta
- كُنتَ
- you were
- fīnā
- فِينَا
- among us
- marjuwwan
- مَرْجُوًّا
- the one in whom hope was placed
- qabla
- قَبْلَ
- before
- hādhā
- هَٰذَآۖ
- this
- atanhānā
- أَتَنْهَىٰنَآ
- Do you forbid us
- an
- أَن
- that
- naʿbuda
- نَّعْبُدَ
- we worship
- mā
- مَا
- what
- yaʿbudu
- يَعْبُدُ
- our forefathers worshipped?
- ābāunā
- ءَابَآؤُنَا
- our forefathers worshipped?
- wa-innanā
- وَإِنَّنَا
- And indeed we
- lafī
- لَفِى
- surely (are) in
- shakkin
- شَكٍّ
- doubt
- mimmā
- مِّمَّا
- about what
- tadʿūnā
- تَدْعُونَآ
- you call us
- ilayhi
- إِلَيْهِ
- to it
- murībin
- مُرِيبٍ
- suspicious"
They said, "O Saleh, you were among us a man of promise before this. Do you forbid us to worship what our fathers worshipped? And indeed we are, about that to which you invite us, in disquieting doubt." (QS. [11] Hud: 62)Tafsir
قَالَ يٰقَوْمِ اَرَءَيْتُمْ اِنْ كُنْتُ عَلٰى بَيِّنَةٍ مِّنْ رَّبِّيْۗ وَاٰتٰىنِيْ مِنْهُ رَحْمَةً فَمَنْ يَّنْصُرُنِيْ مِنَ اللّٰهِ اِنْ عَصَيْتُهٗ ۗفَمَا تَزِيْدُوْنَنِيْ غَيْرَ تَخْسِيْرٍ ٦٣
- qāla
- قَالَ
- He said
- yāqawmi
- يَٰقَوْمِ
- "O my people!
- ara-aytum
- أَرَءَيْتُمْ
- Do you see
- in
- إِن
- if
- kuntu
- كُنتُ
- I am
- ʿalā
- عَلَىٰ
- on
- bayyinatin
- بَيِّنَةٍ
- a clear proof
- min
- مِّن
- from
- rabbī
- رَّبِّى
- my Lord
- waātānī
- وَءَاتَىٰنِى
- and He has given me
- min'hu
- مِنْهُ
- from Him
- raḥmatan
- رَحْمَةً
- a Mercy
- faman
- فَمَن
- then who
- yanṣurunī
- يَنصُرُنِى
- (can) help me
- mina
- مِنَ
- against
- l-lahi
- ٱللَّهِ
- Allah
- in
- إِنْ
- if
- ʿaṣaytuhu
- عَصَيْتُهُۥۖ
- I (were to) disobey Him?
- famā
- فَمَا
- So not
- tazīdūnanī
- تَزِيدُونَنِى
- you would increase me
- ghayra
- غَيْرَ
- but
- takhsīrin
- تَخْسِيرٍ
- (in) loss
He said, "O my people, have you considered: if I should be upon clear evidence from my Lord and He has given me mercy from Himself, who would protect me from Allah if I disobeyed Him? So you would not increase me except in loss. (QS. [11] Hud: 63)Tafsir
وَيٰقَوْمِ هٰذِهٖ نَاقَةُ اللّٰهِ لَكُمْ اٰيَةً فَذَرُوْهَا تَأْكُلْ فِيْٓ اَرْضِ اللّٰهِ وَلَا تَمَسُّوْهَا بِسُوْۤءٍ فَيَأْخُذَكُمْ عَذَابٌ قَرِيْبٌ ٦٤
- wayāqawmi
- وَيَٰقَوْمِ
- And O my people!
- hādhihi
- هَٰذِهِۦ
- This
- nāqatu
- نَاقَةُ
- she-camel
- l-lahi
- ٱللَّهِ
- (of) Allah
- lakum
- لَكُمْ
- (is) for you
- āyatan
- ءَايَةً
- a Sign
- fadharūhā
- فَذَرُوهَا
- so leave her
- takul
- تَأْكُلْ
- to eat
- fī
- فِىٓ
- in
- arḍi
- أَرْضِ
- the earth
- l-lahi
- ٱللَّهِ
- (of) Allah
- walā
- وَلَا
- and (do) not
- tamassūhā
- تَمَسُّوهَا
- touch her
- bisūin
- بِسُوٓءٍ
- with harm
- fayakhudhakum
- فَيَأْخُذَكُمْ
- lest will seize you
- ʿadhābun
- عَذَابٌ
- a punishment
- qarībun
- قَرِيبٌ
- impending"
And O my people, this is the she-camel of Allah – [she is] to you a sign. So let her feed upon Allah's earth and do not touch her with harm, or you will be taken by an impending punishment." (QS. [11] Hud: 64)Tafsir
فَعَقَرُوْهَا فَقَالَ تَمَتَّعُوْا فِيْ دَارِكُمْ ثَلٰثَةَ اَيَّامٍ ۗذٰلِكَ وَعْدٌ غَيْرُ مَكْذُوْبٍ ٦٥
- faʿaqarūhā
- فَعَقَرُوهَا
- But they hamstrung her
- faqāla
- فَقَالَ
- So he said
- tamattaʿū
- تَمَتَّعُوا۟
- "Enjoy (yourselves)
- fī
- فِى
- in
- dārikum
- دَارِكُمْ
- your home(s)
- thalāthata
- ثَلَٰثَةَ
- (for) three
- ayyāmin
- أَيَّامٍۖ
- days
- dhālika
- ذَٰلِكَ
- That
- waʿdun
- وَعْدٌ
- (is) a promise
- ghayru
- غَيْرُ
- not
- makdhūbin
- مَكْذُوبٍ
- (to) be belied"
But they hamstrung her, so he said, "Enjoy yourselves in your homes for three days. That is a promise not to be denied [i.e., unfailing]." (QS. [11] Hud: 65)Tafsir
فَلَمَّا جَاۤءَ اَمْرُنَا نَجَّيْنَا صٰلِحًا وَّالَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْا مَعَهٗ بِرَحْمَةٍ مِّنَّا وَمِنْ خِزْيِ يَوْمِىِٕذٍ ۗاِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ الْقَوِيُّ الْعَزِيْزُ ٦٦
- falammā
- فَلَمَّا
- So when
- jāa
- جَآءَ
- came
- amrunā
- أَمْرُنَا
- Our command
- najjaynā
- نَجَّيْنَا
- We saved
- ṣāliḥan
- صَٰلِحًا
- Salih
- wa-alladhīna
- وَٱلَّذِينَ
- and those who
- āmanū
- ءَامَنُوا۟
- believed
- maʿahu
- مَعَهُۥ
- with him
- biraḥmatin
- بِرَحْمَةٍ
- by a Mercy
- minnā
- مِّنَّا
- from Us
- wamin
- وَمِنْ
- and from
- khiz'yi
- خِزْىِ
- (the) disgrace
- yawmi-idhin
- يَوْمِئِذٍۗ
- (of) that Day
- inna
- إِنَّ
- Indeed
- rabbaka
- رَبَّكَ
- your Lord
- huwa
- هُوَ
- He
- l-qawiyu
- ٱلْقَوِىُّ
- (is) All- Strong
- l-ʿazīzu
- ٱلْعَزِيزُ
- All-Mighty
So when Our command came, We saved Saleh and those who believed with him, by mercy from Us, and [saved them] from the disgrace of that day. Indeed, it is your Lord who is the Powerful, the Exalted in Might. (QS. [11] Hud: 66)Tafsir
وَاَخَذَ الَّذِيْنَ ظَلَمُوا الصَّيْحَةُ فَاَصْبَحُوْا فِيْ دِيَارِهِمْ جٰثِمِيْنَۙ ٦٧
- wa-akhadha
- وَأَخَذَ
- And seized
- alladhīna
- ٱلَّذِينَ
- those who
- ẓalamū
- ظَلَمُوا۟
- wronged
- l-ṣayḥatu
- ٱلصَّيْحَةُ
- the thunderous blast
- fa-aṣbaḥū
- فَأَصْبَحُوا۟
- then they became
- fī
- فِى
- in
- diyārihim
- دِيَٰرِهِمْ
- their homes
- jāthimīna
- جَٰثِمِينَ
- fallen prone
And the shriek seized those who had wronged, and they became within their homes [corpses] fallen prone (QS. [11] Hud: 67)Tafsir
كَاَنْ لَّمْ يَغْنَوْا فِيْهَا ۗ اَلَآ اِنَّ ثَمُوْدَا۠ كَفَرُوْا رَبَّهُمْ ۗ اَلَا بُعْدًا لِّثَمُوْدَ ࣖ ٦٨
- ka-an
- كَأَن
- As if
- lam
- لَّمْ
- not
- yaghnaw
- يَغْنَوْا۟
- they (had) prospered
- fīhā
- فِيهَآۗ
- therein
- alā
- أَلَآ
- No doubt
- inna
- إِنَّ
- indeed
- thamūdā
- ثَمُودَا۟
- Thamud
- kafarū
- كَفَرُوا۟
- disbelieved
- rabbahum
- رَبَّهُمْۗ
- (in) their Lord
- alā
- أَلَا
- so
- buʿ'dan
- بُعْدًا
- away
- lithamūda
- لِّثَمُودَ
- with Thamud
As if they had never prospered therein. Unquestionably, Thamud denied their Lord; then, away with Thamud. (QS. [11] Hud: 68)Tafsir
وَلَقَدْ جَاۤءَتْ رُسُلُنَآ اِبْرٰهِيْمَ بِالْبُشْرٰى قَالُوْا سَلٰمًا ۖقَالَ سَلٰمٌ فَمَا لَبِثَ اَنْ جَاۤءَ بِعِجْلٍ حَنِيْذٍ ٦٩
- walaqad
- وَلَقَدْ
- And certainly
- jāat
- جَآءَتْ
- came
- rusulunā
- رُسُلُنَآ
- Our messengers
- ib'rāhīma
- إِبْرَٰهِيمَ
- (to) Ibrahim
- bil-bush'rā
- بِٱلْبُشْرَىٰ
- with glad tidings
- qālū
- قَالُوا۟
- they said
- salāman
- سَلَٰمًاۖ
- "Peace"
- qāla
- قَالَ
- He said
- salāmun
- سَلَٰمٌۖ
- "Peace"
- famā
- فَمَا
- and not he delayed
- labitha
- لَبِثَ
- and not he delayed
- an
- أَن
- to
- jāa
- جَآءَ
- bring
- biʿij'lin
- بِعِجْلٍ
- a calf
- ḥanīdhin
- حَنِيذٍ
- roasted
And certainly did Our messengers [i.e., angels] come to Abraham with good tidings; they said, "Peace." He said, "Peace," and did not delay in bringing [them] a roasted calf. (QS. [11] Hud: 69)Tafsir
فَلَمَّا رَاٰىٓ اَيْدِيَهُمْ لَا تَصِلُ اِلَيْهِ نَكِرَهُمْ وَاَوْجَسَ مِنْهُمْ خِيْفَةً ۗقَالُوْا لَا تَخَفْ اِنَّآ اُرْسِلْنَآ اِلٰى قَوْمِ لُوْطٍۗ ٧٠
- falammā
- فَلَمَّا
- But when
- raā
- رَءَآ
- he saw
- aydiyahum
- أَيْدِيَهُمْ
- their hands
- lā
- لَا
- not
- taṣilu
- تَصِلُ
- reaching
- ilayhi
- إِلَيْهِ
- to it
- nakirahum
- نَكِرَهُمْ
- he felt unfamiliar of them
- wa-awjasa
- وَأَوْجَسَ
- and felt apprehension
- min'hum
- مِنْهُمْ
- from them
- khīfatan
- خِيفَةًۚ
- [a fear]
- qālū
- قَالُوا۟
- They said
- lā
- لَا
- "(Do) not
- takhaf
- تَخَفْ
- fear
- innā
- إِنَّآ
- Indeed we
- ur'sil'nā
- أُرْسِلْنَآ
- [we] have been sent
- ilā
- إِلَىٰ
- to
- qawmi
- قَوْمِ
- (the) people
- lūṭin
- لُوطٍ
- (of) Lut"
But when he saw their hands not reaching for it, he distrusted them and felt from them apprehension. They said, "Fear not. We have been sent to the people of Lot." (QS. [11] Hud: 70)Tafsir
