Surah Al-Qadr - Word by Word
(The Power)
1
اِنَّآ اَنْزَلْنٰهُ فِيْ لَيْلَةِ الْقَدْرِ ١
- innā
- إِنَّآ
- Indeed We
- anzalnāhu
- أَنزَلْنَٰهُ
- revealed it
- fī
- فِى
- in
- laylati
- لَيْلَةِ
- (the) Night
- l-qadri
- ٱلْقَدْرِ
- (of) Power
Indeed, We sent it [i.e., the Quran] down during the Night of Decree. (QS. [97] Al-Qadr: 1)Tafsir

وَمَآ اَدْرٰىكَ مَا لَيْلَةُ الْقَدْرِۗ ٢
- wamā
- وَمَآ
- And what
- adrāka
- أَدْرَىٰكَ
- can make you know
- mā
- مَا
- what
- laylatu
- لَيْلَةُ
- (the) Night
- l-qadri
- ٱلْقَدْرِ
- (of) Power (is)?
And what can make you know what is the Night of Decree? (QS. [97] Al-Qadr: 2)Tafsir

لَيْلَةُ الْقَدْرِ ەۙ خَيْرٌ مِّنْ اَلْفِ شَهْرٍۗ ٣
- laylatu
- لَيْلَةُ
- (The) Night
- l-qadri
- ٱلْقَدْرِ
- (of) Power
- khayrun
- خَيْرٌ
- (is) better
- min
- مِّنْ
- than
- alfi
- أَلْفِ
- a thousand
- shahrin
- شَهْرٍ
- month(s)
The Night of Decree is better than a thousand months. (QS. [97] Al-Qadr: 3)Tafsir
4
تَنَزَّلُ الْمَلٰۤىِٕكَةُ وَالرُّوْحُ فِيْهَا بِاِذْنِ رَبِّهِمْۚ مِنْ كُلِّ اَمْرٍۛ ٤
- tanazzalu
- تَنَزَّلُ
- Descend
- l-malāikatu
- ٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ
- the Angels
- wal-rūḥu
- وَٱلرُّوحُ
- and the Spirit
- fīhā
- فِيهَا
- therein
- bi-idh'ni
- بِإِذْنِ
- by (the) permission
- rabbihim
- رَبِّهِم
- (of) their Lord
- min
- مِّن
- for
- kulli
- كُلِّ
- every
- amrin
- أَمْرٍ
- affair
The angels and the Spirit [i.e., Gabriel] descend therein by permission of their Lord for every matter. (QS. [97] Al-Qadr: 4)Tafsir
5
سَلٰمٌ ۛهِيَ حَتّٰى مَطْلَعِ الْفَجْرِ ࣖ ٥
- salāmun
- سَلَٰمٌ
- Peace
- hiya
- هِىَ
- it (is)
- ḥattā
- حَتَّىٰ
- until
- maṭlaʿi
- مَطْلَعِ
- (the) emergence
- l-fajri
- ٱلْفَجْرِ
- (of) the dawn
Peace it is until the emergence of dawn. (QS. [97] Al-Qadr: 5)Tafsir
