Al-Qur'an Surah Ad-Duhaa Verse 11

Ad-Duhaa [93]: 11 ~ English Qur'an Word By Word and Multi Tafseer

وَاَمَّا بِنِعْمَةِ رَبِّكَ فَحَدِّثْ ࣖ (الضحى : ٩٣)

wa-ammā
وَأَمَّا
But as for
biniʿ'mati
بِنِعْمَةِ
(the) Favor
rabbika
رَبِّكَ
(of) your Lord
faḥaddith
فَحَدِّثْ
narrate

Transliteration:

Wa amma bi ni'mati rabbika fahad dith (QS. aḍ-Ḍuḥā:11)

English / Sahih Translation:

But as for the favor of your Lord, report [it]. (QS. Ad-Duhaa, ayah 11)

Tafsir jalalayn

and as for your Lord's grace, to you, by way of prophethood and otherwise, proclaim [it], make it known. The omission in certain instances of the [suffixed] pronoun referring to the Prophet (s) from the end of the verbs is intended to sustain the end-rhyme of the verses. Meccan, consisting of 8 verses.

Tafseer Ibn Kathir

And proclaim the grace of your Lord.

meaning,

`just as you were poor and needy, and Allah made you wealthy, then tell about Allah's favor upon you.'

Abu Dawud recorded from Abu Hurayrah that the Prophet said,

لَاا يَشْكُرُ اللهَ مَنْ لَاا يَشْكُرُ النَّاس

Whoever is not thankful to the people, then he is not thankful to Allah.

At-Tirmidhi also recorded this Hadith and he said, "Sahih".

Abu Dawud recorded from Jabir that the Prophet said,

مَنْ أُبْلِيَ بَلَءً فَذَكَرَهُ فَقَدْ شَكَرَهُ وَمَنْ كَتَمَهُ فَقَدْ كَفَرَه

Whoever overcomes some test (i.e., calamity) and mentions it (to others), then he is indeed thankful. And whoever conceals it, then indeed he was ungrateful.

Abu Dawud was alone in recording this Hadith.

This is the end of the Tafsir of Surah Ad-Duha, and unto Allah is due all praise and thanks
