Al-Qur'an Surah Ad-Duhaa Verse 10
Ad-Duhaa [93]: 10 ~ English Qur'an Word By Word and Multi Tafseer
وَاَمَّا السَّاۤىِٕلَ فَلَا تَنْهَرْ (الضحى : ٩٣)
- wa-ammā
- وَأَمَّا
- And as for
- l-sāila
- ٱلسَّآئِلَ
- him who asks
- falā
- فَلَا
- then (do) not
- tanhar
- تَنْهَرْ
- repel
Transliteration:
Wa am mas saa-ila fala tanhar(QS. aḍ-Ḍuḥā:10)
English / Sahih Translation:
And as for the petitioner, do not repel [him]. (QS. Ad-Duhaa, ayah 10)

`just as you were astray and Allah guided you, then do not scorn the one who asks for knowledge seeking to be guided.'
Ibn Ishaq said,
وَأَمَّا السَّأيِلَ فَلَ تَنْهَرْ
(And repulse not the one who asks).
"This means do not be oppressive, arrogant, wicked, or mean to the weak among Allah's servants."
Qatadah said,
"This means respond to the poor with mercy and gentleness."
