1
وَالَّيْلِ اِذَا يَغْشٰىۙ ١
- wa-al-layli
- وَٱلَّيْلِ
- By the night
- idhā
- إِذَا
- when
- yaghshā
- يَغْشَىٰ
- it covers
By the night when it covers (QS. [92] Al-Layl: 1)Tafsir
2
وَالنَّهَارِ اِذَا تَجَلّٰىۙ ٢
- wal-nahāri
- وَٱلنَّهَارِ
- And the day
- idhā
- إِذَا
- when
- tajallā
- تَجَلَّىٰ
- it shines in brightness
And [by] the day when it appears . (QS. [92] Al-Layl: 2)Tafsir
3
وَمَا خَلَقَ الذَّكَرَ وَالْاُنْثٰىٓ ۙ ٣
- wamā
- وَمَا
- And He Who
- khalaqa
- خَلَقَ
- created
- l-dhakara
- ٱلذَّكَرَ
- the male
- wal-unthā
- وَٱلْأُنثَىٰٓ
- and the female
And [by] He who created the male and female, (QS. [92] Al-Layl: 3)Tafsir
4
اِنَّ سَعْيَكُمْ لَشَتّٰىۗ ٤
- inna
- إِنَّ
- Indeed
- saʿyakum
- سَعْيَكُمْ
- your efforts
- lashattā
- لَشَتَّىٰ
- (are) surely diverse
Indeed, your efforts are diverse. (QS. [92] Al-Layl: 4)Tafsir
5
فَاَمَّا مَنْ اَعْطٰى وَاتَّقٰىۙ ٥
- fa-ammā
- فَأَمَّا
- Then as for
- man
- مَنْ
- (him) who
- aʿṭā
- أَعْطَىٰ
- gives
- wa-ittaqā
- وَٱتَّقَىٰ
- and fears
As for he who gives and fears Allah . (QS. [92] Al-Layl: 5)Tafsir
6
وَصَدَّقَ بِالْحُسْنٰىۙ ٦
- waṣaddaqa
- وَصَدَّقَ
- And believes
- bil-ḥus'nā
- بِٱلْحُسْنَىٰ
- in the best
And believes in the best [reward], (QS. [92] Al-Layl: 6)Tafsir
7
فَسَنُيَسِّرُهٗ لِلْيُسْرٰىۗ ٧
- fasanuyassiruhu
- فَسَنُيَسِّرُهُۥ
- Then We will ease him
- lil'yus'rā
- لِلْيُسْرَىٰ
- towards [the] ease
We will ease him toward ease. (QS. [92] Al-Layl: 7)Tafsir
8
وَاَمَّا مَنْۢ بَخِلَ وَاسْتَغْنٰىۙ ٨
- wa-ammā
- وَأَمَّا
- But as for
- man
- مَنۢ
- (him) who
- bakhila
- بَخِلَ
- withholds
- wa-is'taghnā
- وَٱسْتَغْنَىٰ
- and considers himself free from need
But as for he who withholds and considers himself free of need (QS. [92] Al-Layl: 8)Tafsir
9
وَكَذَّبَ بِالْحُسْنٰىۙ ٩
- wakadhaba
- وَكَذَّبَ
- And denies
- bil-ḥus'nā
- بِٱلْحُسْنَىٰ
- the best
And denies the best [reward], (QS. [92] Al-Layl: 9)Tafsir
10
فَسَنُيَسِّرُهٗ لِلْعُسْرٰىۗ ١٠
- fasanuyassiruhu
- فَسَنُيَسِّرُهُۥ
- Then We will ease him
- lil'ʿus'rā
- لِلْعُسْرَىٰ
- towards [the] difficulty
We will ease him toward difficulty. (QS. [92] Al-Layl: 10)Tafsir
