1
وَالشَّمْسِ وَضُحٰىهَاۖ ١
- wal-shamsi
- وَٱلشَّمْسِ
- By the sun
- waḍuḥāhā
- وَضُحَىٰهَا
- and its brightness
By the sun and its brightness (QS. [91] Ash-Shams: 1)Tafsir
2
وَالْقَمَرِ اِذَا تَلٰىهَاۖ ٢
- wal-qamari
- وَٱلْقَمَرِ
- And the moon
- idhā
- إِذَا
- when
- talāhā
- تَلَىٰهَا
- it follows it
And [by] the moon when it follows it (QS. [91] Ash-Shams: 2)Tafsir
3
وَالنَّهَارِ اِذَا جَلّٰىهَاۖ ٣
- wal-nahāri
- وَٱلنَّهَارِ
- And the day
- idhā
- إِذَا
- when
- jallāhā
- جَلَّىٰهَا
- it displays it
And [by] the day when it displays it (QS. [91] Ash-Shams: 3)Tafsir
4
وَالَّيْلِ اِذَا يَغْشٰىهَاۖ ٤
- wa-al-layli
- وَٱلَّيْلِ
- And the night
- idhā
- إِذَا
- when
- yaghshāhā
- يَغْشَىٰهَا
- it covers it
And [by] the night when it covers [i.e., conceals] it (QS. [91] Ash-Shams: 4)Tafsir
5
وَالسَّمَاۤءِ وَمَا بَنٰىهَاۖ ٥
- wal-samāi
- وَٱلسَّمَآءِ
- And the heaven
- wamā
- وَمَا
- and He Who
- banāhā
- بَنَىٰهَا
- constructed it
And [by] the sky and He who constructed it (QS. [91] Ash-Shams: 5)Tafsir
6
وَالْاَرْضِ وَمَا طَحٰىهَاۖ ٦
- wal-arḍi
- وَٱلْأَرْضِ
- And the earth
- wamā
- وَمَا
- and He Who
- ṭaḥāhā
- طَحَىٰهَا
- spread it
And [by] the earth and He who spread it (QS. [91] Ash-Shams: 6)Tafsir
7
وَنَفْسٍ وَّمَا سَوّٰىهَاۖ ٧
- wanafsin
- وَنَفْسٍ
- And (the) soul
- wamā
- وَمَا
- and He Who
- sawwāhā
- سَوَّىٰهَا
- proportioned it
And [by] the soul and He who proportioned it (QS. [91] Ash-Shams: 7)Tafsir
8
فَاَلْهَمَهَا فُجُوْرَهَا وَتَقْوٰىهَاۖ ٨
- fa-alhamahā
- فَأَلْهَمَهَا
- And He inspired it
- fujūrahā
- فُجُورَهَا
- (to understand) what is wrong for it
- wataqwāhā
- وَتَقْوَىٰهَا
- and what is right for it
And inspired it [with discernment of] its wickedness and its righteousness, (QS. [91] Ash-Shams: 8)Tafsir
9
قَدْ اَفْلَحَ مَنْ زَكّٰىهَاۖ ٩
- qad
- قَدْ
- Indeed
- aflaḥa
- أَفْلَحَ
- he succeeds
- man
- مَن
- who
- zakkāhā
- زَكَّىٰهَا
- purifies it
He has succeeded who purifies it, (QS. [91] Ash-Shams: 9)Tafsir
10
وَقَدْ خَابَ مَنْ دَسّٰىهَاۗ ١٠
- waqad
- وَقَدْ
- And indeed
- khāba
- خَابَ
- he fails
- man
- مَن
- who
- dassāhā
- دَسَّىٰهَا
- corrupts it
And he has failed who instills it [with corruption]. (QS. [91] Ash-Shams: 10)Tafsir
