اَيَحْسَبُ اَنْ لَّنْ يَّقْدِرَ عَلَيْهِ اَحَدٌ ۘ (البلد : ٩٠)

Transliteration:

Ayahsabu al-lai yaqdira 'alaihi ahad (QS. al-Balad:5)

English / Sahih Translation:

Does he think that never will anyone overcome him? (QS. Al-Balad, ayah 5)

Tafsir jalalayn

Does he suppose, does the strong man of Quraysh, namely, Ab'l-Ashadd b. Kalada, presume, on account of his strength, that (an; softened in place of the hardened form, its subject omitted, that is to say, annahu) no one will have power over him? Yet God has power over him.

Tafseer Ibn Kathir

Does he think that none can overcome him.

Al-Hasan Al-Basri said that its Meaning that,

"no one is able to take his wealth."

Qatadah about this has said,

"The Son of Adam thinks that he will not be asked about this wealth of his -- how he earned and how he spent it."

Allah said;

يَقُولُ أَهْلَكْتُ مَالاً لُّبَدًا
