فَلَا اقْتَحَمَ الْعَقَبَةَ ۖ ١١
- falā
- فَلَا
- But not
- iq'taḥama
- ٱقْتَحَمَ
- he has attempted
- l-ʿaqabata
- ٱلْعَقَبَةَ
- the steep path
But he has not broken through the difficult pass. (QS. [90] Al-Balad: 11)Tafsir
12
وَمَآ اَدْرٰىكَ مَا الْعَقَبَةُ ۗ ١٢
- wamā
- وَمَآ
- And what
- adrāka
- أَدْرَىٰكَ
- can make you know
- mā
- مَا
- what
- l-ʿaqabatu
- ٱلْعَقَبَةُ
- the steep path is?
And what can make you know what is [breaking through] the difficult pass? (QS. [90] Al-Balad: 12)Tafsir
13
فَكُّ رَقَبَةٍۙ ١٣
- fakku
- فَكُّ
- (It is) freeing
- raqabatin
- رَقَبَةٍ
- a neck
It is the freeing of a slave . (QS. [90] Al-Balad: 13)Tafsir
14
اَوْ اِطْعَامٌ فِيْ يَوْمٍ ذِيْ مَسْغَبَةٍۙ ١٤
- aw
- أَوْ
- Or
- iṭ'ʿāmun
- إِطْعَٰمٌ
- feeding
- fī
- فِى
- in
- yawmin
- يَوْمٍ
- a day
- dhī
- ذِى
- of
- masghabatin
- مَسْغَبَةٍ
- severe hunger
Or feeding on a day of severe hunger . (QS. [90] Al-Balad: 14)Tafsir
15
يَّتِيْمًا ذَا مَقْرَبَةٍۙ ١٥
- yatīman
- يَتِيمًا
- An orphan
- dhā
- ذَا
- of
- maqrabatin
- مَقْرَبَةٍ
- near relationship
An orphan of near relationship . (QS. [90] Al-Balad: 15)Tafsir
16
اَوْ مِسْكِيْنًا ذَا مَتْرَبَةٍۗ ١٦
- aw
- أَوْ
- Or
- mis'kīnan
- مِسْكِينًا
- a needy person
- dhā
- ذَا
- in
- matrabatin
- مَتْرَبَةٍ
- misery
Or a needy person in misery . (QS. [90] Al-Balad: 16)Tafsir
17
ثُمَّ كَانَ مِنَ الَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْا وَتَوَاصَوْا بِالصَّبْرِ وَتَوَاصَوْا بِالْمَرْحَمَةِۗ ١٧
- thumma
- ثُمَّ
- Then
- kāna
- كَانَ
- he is
- mina
- مِنَ
- of
- alladhīna
- ٱلَّذِينَ
- those who
- āmanū
- ءَامَنُوا۟
- believe
- watawāṣaw
- وَتَوَاصَوْا۟
- and enjoin each other
- bil-ṣabri
- بِٱلصَّبْرِ
- to patience
- watawāṣaw
- وَتَوَاصَوْا۟
- and enjoin each other
- bil-marḥamati
- بِٱلْمَرْحَمَةِ
- to compassion
And then being among those who believed and advised one another to patience and advised one another to compassion. (QS. [90] Al-Balad: 17)Tafsir
18
اُولٰۤىِٕكَ اَصْحٰبُ الْمَيْمَنَةِۗ ١٨
- ulāika
- أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ
- Those
- aṣḥābu
- أَصْحَٰبُ
- (are the) companions
- l-maymanati
- ٱلْمَيْمَنَةِ
- (of) the right hand
Those are the companions of the right. (QS. [90] Al-Balad: 18)Tafsir
19
وَالَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوْا بِاٰيٰتِنَا هُمْ اَصْحٰبُ الْمَشْئَمَةِۗ ١٩
- wa-alladhīna
- وَٱلَّذِينَ
- But those who
- kafarū
- كَفَرُوا۟
- disbelieve
- biāyātinā
- بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا
- in Our Verses
- hum
- هُمْ
- they
- aṣḥābu
- أَصْحَٰبُ
- (are the) companions
- l-mashamati
- ٱلْمَشْـَٔمَةِ
- (of) the left hand
But they who disbelieved in Our signs - those are the companions of the left. (QS. [90] Al-Balad: 19)Tafsir
20
عَلَيْهِمْ نَارٌ مُّؤْصَدَةٌ ࣖ ٢٠
- ʿalayhim
- عَلَيْهِمْ
- Over them
- nārun
- نَارٌ
- (will be the) Fire
- mu'ṣadatun
- مُّؤْصَدَةٌۢ
- closed in
Over them will be fire closed in. (QS. [90] Al-Balad: 20)Tafsir
