Al-Qur'an Surah At-Tawbah Verse 50
At-Tawbah [9]: 50 ~ English Qur'an Word By Word and Multi Tafseer
اِنْ تُصِبْكَ حَسَنَةٌ تَسُؤْهُمْۚ وَاِنْ تُصِبْكَ مُصِيْبَةٌ يَّقُوْلُوْا قَدْ اَخَذْنَآ اَمْرَنَا مِنْ قَبْلُ وَيَتَوَلَّوْا وَّهُمْ فَرِحُوْنَ (التوبة : ٩)

Transliteration:
in tusibka hasanatun tasu'hum; wa in tusibka museebatuny yaqooloo qad akhaznaaa amranaa min qablu wa yatawallaw wa hum farihoon(QS. at-Tawbah:50)
English / Sahih Translation:
If good befalls you, it distresses them; but if disaster strikes you, they say, "We took our matter [in hand] before," and turn away while they are rejoicing. (QS. At-Tawbah, ayah 50)

If some good comes to you, it annoys them, and if hardship befalls you, they say, “We had already taken care of our problem”, and they go their way delighted.

English Literal
If goodness strikes you it harms them , and if disaster/every thing hated strikes you , they say: "We had taken our matter/affair from before." And they turn away and they are happy/delighted .

Tafsir jalalayn
If good fortune, such as a victory or [a taking of] some spoils, befalls you, it vexes them; but if an affliction, some hardship, befalls you, they say, `We took our precaution, judiciously -- when we stayed behind -- before', before this act of disobedience; and they turn away, rejoicing, at what has afflicted you.
Tafseer Ibn Kathir
Allah emphasizes the enmity that the hypocrites have for the Prophet
Allah tells;
إِن تُصِبْكَ حَسَنَةٌ تَسُوْهُمْ
If good befalls you, it grieves them,
If a blessing, such as victory and triumph over the enemies, is given to the Prophet, thus pleasing him and his Companions, it grieves the hypocrites,
وَإِن تُصِبْكَ مُصِيبَةٌ يَقُولُواْ قَدْ أَخَذْنَا أَمْرَنَا مِن قَبْلُ
but if a calamity overtakes you, they say;"We took our precaution beforehand,
they say, we took precautions when we did not join him,
وَيَتَوَلَّواْ وَّهُمْ فَرِحُونَ
and they turn away rejoicing.
Allah directed His Prophet to reply to the perfect enmity they have towards him
