لَيْسَ عَلَى الضُّعَفَاۤءِ وَلَا عَلَى الْمَرْضٰى وَلَا عَلَى الَّذِيْنَ لَا يَجِدُوْنَ مَا يُنْفِقُوْنَ حَرَجٌ اِذَا نَصَحُوْا لِلّٰهِ وَرَسُوْلِهٖۗ مَا عَلَى الْمُحْسِنِيْنَ مِنْ سَبِيْلٍ ۗوَاللّٰهُ غَفُوْرٌ رَّحِيْمٌۙ ٩١

- the weak
- walā
- وَلَا
- and not
- ʿalā
- عَلَى

- ٱلْمَرْضَىٰ
- the sick
- walā
- وَلَا
- and not
- ʿalā
- عَلَى
- on
- alladhīna
- ٱلَّذِينَ
- those who
- lā
- لَا
- not
- yajidūna
- يَجِدُونَ
- they find
- mā
- مَا
- what
- yunfiqūna
- يُنفِقُونَ
- they (can) spend
- ḥarajun
- حَرَجٌ
- any blame
- idhā
- إِذَا
- if
- naṣaḥū
- نَصَحُوا۟
- they (are) sincere
- lillahi
- لِلَّهِ
- to Allah
- warasūlihi
- وَرَسُولِهِۦۚ
- and His Messenger
- mā
- مَا
- Not
- ʿalā
- عَلَى
- (is) on
- l-muḥ'sinīna
- ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ
- the good-doers
- min
- مِن
- [of]
- sabīlin
- سَبِيلٍۚ
- any way (for blame)
- wal-lahu
- وَٱللَّهُ
- And Allah
- ghafūrun
- غَفُورٌ
- (is) Oft-Forgiving
- raḥīmun
- رَّحِيمٌ
- Most Merciful
There is not upon the weak or upon the ill or upon those who do not find anything to spend any discomfort [i.e., guilt] when they are sincere to Allah and His Messenger. There is not upon the doers of good any cause [for blame]. And Allah is Forgiving and Merciful. (QS. [9] At-Tawbah: 91)Tafsir
وَّلَا عَلَى الَّذِيْنَ اِذَا مَآ اَتَوْكَ لِتَحْمِلَهُمْ قُلْتَ لَآ اَجِدُ مَآ اَحْمِلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ ۖتَوَلَّوْا وَّاَعْيُنُهُمْ تَفِيْضُ مِنَ الدَّمْعِ حَزَنًا اَلَّا يَجِدُوْا مَا يُنْفِقُوْنَۗ ٩٢

- And not
- ʿalā
- عَلَى

- alladhīna
- ٱلَّذِينَ
- those who
- idhā
- إِذَا
- when
- mā
- مَآ
- when
- atawka
- أَتَوْكَ
- they came to you
- litaḥmilahum
- لِتَحْمِلَهُمْ
- that you provide them with mounts
- qul'ta
- قُلْتَ
- you said

- لَآ
- "Not
- ajidu
- أَجِدُ
- I find
- mā
- مَآ
- what
- aḥmilukum
- أَحْمِلُكُمْ
- to mount you
- ʿalayhi
- عَلَيْهِ
- on [it]
- tawallaw
- تَوَلَّوا۟
- They turned back
- wa-aʿyunuhum
- وَّأَعْيُنُهُمْ
- with their eyes
- tafīḍu
- تَفِيضُ
- flowing
- mina
- مِنَ
- [of]
- l-damʿi
- ٱلدَّمْعِ
- (with) the tears
- ḥazanan
- حَزَنًا
- (of) sorrow
- allā
- أَلَّا
- that not
- yajidū
- يَجِدُوا۟
- they find
- mā
- مَا
- what
- yunfiqūna
- يُنفِقُونَ
- they (could) spend
Nor [is there blame] upon those who, when they came to you for you to take them along, you said, "I can find nothing upon which to carry you." They turned back while their eyes overflowed with tears out of grief that they could not find something to spend [for the cause of Allah]. (QS. [9] At-Tawbah: 92)Tafsir
اِنَّمَا السَّبِيْلُ عَلَى الَّذِيْنَ يَسْتَأْذِنُوْنَكَ وَهُمْ اَغْنِيَاۤءُۚ رَضُوْا بِاَنْ يَّكُوْنُوْا مَعَ الْخَوَالِفِۙ وَطَبَعَ اللّٰهُ عَلٰى قُلُوْبِهِمْ فَهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُوْنَ ۔ ٩٣
- innamā
- إِنَّمَا
- Only
- l-sabīlu
- ٱلسَّبِيلُ
- the way (blame)
- ʿalā
- عَلَى
- (is) on
- alladhīna
- ٱلَّذِينَ
- those who
- yastadhinūnaka
- يَسْتَـْٔذِنُونَكَ
- ask your permission
- wahum
- وَهُمْ
- while they
- aghniyāu
- أَغْنِيَآءُۚ
- (are) rich
- raḍū
- رَضُوا۟
- They (are) satisfied
- bi-an
- بِأَن
- to
- yakūnū
- يَكُونُوا۟
- be
- maʿa
- مَعَ
- with
- l-khawālifi
- ٱلْخَوَالِفِ
- those who stay behind
- waṭabaʿa
- وَطَبَعَ
- and Allah sealed
- l-lahu
- ٱللَّهُ
- and Allah sealed
- ʿalā
- عَلَىٰ
- [on]
- qulūbihim
- قُلُوبِهِمْ
- their hearts
- fahum
- فَهُمْ
- so they
- lā
- لَا
- (do) not
- yaʿlamūna
- يَعْلَمُونَ
- know
The cause [for blame] is only upon those who ask permission of you while they are rich. They are satisfied to be with those who stay behind, and Allah has sealed over their hearts, so they do not know. (QS. [9] At-Tawbah: 93)Tafsir
يَعْتَذِرُوْنَ اِلَيْكُمْ اِذَا رَجَعْتُمْ اِلَيْهِمْ ۗ قُلْ لَّا تَعْتَذِرُوْا لَنْ نُّؤْمِنَ لَكُمْ قَدْ نَبَّاَنَا اللّٰهُ مِنْ اَخْبَارِكُمْ وَسَيَرَى اللّٰهُ عَمَلَكُمْ وَرَسُوْلُهٗ ثُمَّ تُرَدُّوْنَ اِلٰى عٰلِمِ الْغَيْبِ وَالشَّهَادَةِ فَيُنَبِّئُكُمْ بِمَا كُنْتُمْ تَعْمَلُوْنَ ٩٤
- yaʿtadhirūna
- يَعْتَذِرُونَ
- They will make excuses
- ilaykum
- إِلَيْكُمْ
- to you
- idhā
- إِذَا
- when
- rajaʿtum
- رَجَعْتُمْ
- you (have) returned
- ilayhim
- إِلَيْهِمْۚ
- to them
- qul
- قُل
- Say
- lā
- لَّا
- "(Do) not
- taʿtadhirū
- تَعْتَذِرُوا۟
- make excuse
- lan
- لَن
- never
- nu'mina
- نُّؤْمِنَ
- we will believe
- lakum
- لَكُمْ
- you
- qad
- قَدْ
- Verily
- nabba-anā
- نَبَّأَنَا
- Allah (has) informed us
- l-lahu
- ٱللَّهُ
- Allah (has) informed us
- min
- مِنْ
- of
- akhbārikum
- أَخْبَارِكُمْۚ
- your news
- wasayarā
- وَسَيَرَى
- and Allah will see
- l-lahu
- ٱللَّهُ
- and Allah will see
- ʿamalakum
- عَمَلَكُمْ
- your deeds
- warasūluhu
- وَرَسُولُهُۥ
- and His Messenger
- thumma
- ثُمَّ
- Then
- turaddūna
- تُرَدُّونَ
- you will be brought back
- ilā
- إِلَىٰ
- to
- ʿālimi
- عَٰلِمِ
- (the) Knower
- l-ghaybi
- ٱلْغَيْبِ
- (of) the unseen
- wal-shahādati
- وَٱلشَّهَٰدَةِ
- and the seen
- fayunabbi-ukum
- فَيُنَبِّئُكُم
- then He will inform you
- bimā
- بِمَا
- of what
- kuntum
- كُنتُمْ
- you used (to)
- taʿmalūna
- تَعْمَلُونَ
- do
They will make excuses to you when you have returned to them. Say, "Make no excuse – never will we believe you. Allah has already informed us of your news [i.e., affair]. And Allah will observe your deeds, and [so will] His Messenger; then you will be taken back to the Knower of the unseen and the witnessed, and He will inform you of what you used to do." (QS. [9] At-Tawbah: 94)Tafsir
سَيَحْلِفُوْنَ بِاللّٰهِ لَكُمْ اِذَا انْقَلَبْتُمْ اِلَيْهِمْ لِتُعْرِضُوْا عَنْهُمْ ۗ فَاَعْرِضُوْا عَنْهُمْ ۗ اِنَّهُمْ رِجْسٌۙ وَّمَأْوٰىهُمْ جَهَنَّمُ جَزَاۤءً ۢبِمَا كَانُوْا يَكْسِبُوْنَ ٩٥
- sayaḥlifūna
- سَيَحْلِفُونَ
- They will swear
- bil-lahi
- بِٱللَّهِ
- by Allah
- lakum
- لَكُمْ
- to you
- idhā
- إِذَا
- when
- inqalabtum
- ٱنقَلَبْتُمْ
- you returned
- ilayhim
- إِلَيْهِمْ
- to them
- lituʿ'riḍū
- لِتُعْرِضُوا۟
- that you may turn away
- ʿanhum
- عَنْهُمْۖ
- from them
- fa-aʿriḍū
- فَأَعْرِضُوا۟
- So turn away
- ʿanhum
- عَنْهُمْۖ
- from them
- innahum
- إِنَّهُمْ
- indeed they
- rij'sun
- رِجْسٌۖ
- (are) impure
- wamawāhum
- وَمَأْوَىٰهُمْ
- and their abode
- jahannamu
- جَهَنَّمُ
- (is) Hell
- jazāan
- جَزَآءًۢ
- a recompense
- bimā
- بِمَا
- for what
- kānū
- كَانُوا۟
- they used (to)
- yaksibūna
- يَكْسِبُونَ
- earn
They will swear by Allah to you when you return to them that you would leave them alone. So leave them alone; indeed they are evil; and their refuge is Hell as recompense for what they had been earning. (QS. [9] At-Tawbah: 95)Tafsir
يَحْلِفُوْنَ لَكُمْ لِتَرْضَوْا عَنْهُمْ ۚفَاِنْ تَرْضَوْا عَنْهُمْ فَاِنَّ اللّٰهَ لَا يَرْضٰى عَنِ الْقَوْمِ الْفٰسِقِيْنَ ٩٦
- yaḥlifūna
- يَحْلِفُونَ
- They swear
- lakum
- لَكُمْ
- to you
- litarḍaw
- لِتَرْضَوْا۟
- that you may be pleased
- ʿanhum
- عَنْهُمْۖ
- with them
- fa-in
- فَإِن
- But if
- tarḍaw
- تَرْضَوْا۟
- you are pleased
- ʿanhum
- عَنْهُمْ
- with them
- fa-inna
- فَإِنَّ
- then indeed
- l-laha
- ٱللَّهَ
- Allah
- lā
- لَا
- (is) not pleased
- yarḍā
- يَرْضَىٰ
- (is) not pleased
- ʿani
- عَنِ
- with
- l-qawmi
- ٱلْقَوْمِ
- the people
- l-fāsiqīna
- ٱلْفَٰسِقِينَ
- (who are) defiantly disobedient
They swear to you so that you might be satisfied with them. But if you should be satisfied with them – indeed, Allah is not satisfied with a defiantly disobedient people. (QS. [9] At-Tawbah: 96)Tafsir
اَلْاَعْرَابُ اَشَدُّ كُفْرًا وَّنِفَاقًا وَّاَجْدَرُ اَلَّا يَعْلَمُوْا حُدُوْدَ مَآ اَنْزَلَ اللّٰهُ عَلٰى رَسُوْلِهٖ ۗوَاللّٰهُ عَلِيْمٌ حَكِيْمٌ ٩٧
- al-aʿrābu
- ٱلْأَعْرَابُ
- The bedouins
- ashaddu
- أَشَدُّ
- (are) stronger
- kuf'ran
- كُفْرًا
- (in) disbelief
- wanifāqan
- وَنِفَاقًا
- and hypocrisy
- wa-ajdaru
- وَأَجْدَرُ
- and more likely
- allā
- أَلَّا
- that not
- yaʿlamū
- يَعْلَمُوا۟
- they know
- ḥudūda
- حُدُودَ
- (the) limits
- mā
- مَآ
- (of) what
- anzala
- أَنزَلَ
- Allah (has) revealed
- l-lahu
- ٱللَّهُ
- Allah (has) revealed
- ʿalā
- عَلَىٰ
- to
- rasūlihi
- رَسُولِهِۦۗ
- His Messenger
- wal-lahu
- وَٱللَّهُ
- And Allah
- ʿalīmun
- عَلِيمٌ
- (is) All-Knower
- ḥakīmun
- حَكِيمٌ
- All-Wise
The bedouins are stronger in disbelief and hypocrisy and more likely not to know the limits of what [laws] Allah has revealed to His Messenger. And Allah is Knowing and Wise. (QS. [9] At-Tawbah: 97)Tafsir
وَمِنَ الْاَعْرَابِ مَنْ يَّتَّخِذُ مَا يُنْفِقُ مَغْرَمًا وَّيَتَرَبَّصُ بِكُمُ الدَّوَاۤىِٕرَ ۗعَلَيْهِمْ دَاۤىِٕرَةُ السَّوْءِ ۗوَاللّٰهُ سَمِيْعٌ عَلِيْمٌ ٩٨
- wamina
- وَمِنَ
- And among
- l-aʿrābi
- ٱلْأَعْرَابِ
- the bedouins
- man
- مَن
- (is he) who
- yattakhidhu
- يَتَّخِذُ
- takes
- mā
- مَا
- what
- yunfiqu
- يُنفِقُ
- he spends
- maghraman
- مَغْرَمًا
- (as) a loss
- wayatarabbaṣu
- وَيَتَرَبَّصُ
- and he awaits
- bikumu
- بِكُمُ
- for you
- l-dawāira
- ٱلدَّوَآئِرَۚ
- the turns (of misfortune)
- ʿalayhim
- عَلَيْهِمْ
- Upon them
- dāiratu
- دَآئِرَةُ
- (will be) the turn
- l-sawi
- ٱلسَّوْءِۗ
- (of) the evil
- wal-lahu
- وَٱللَّهُ
- And Allah
- samīʿun
- سَمِيعٌ
- (is) All-Hearer
- ʿalīmun
- عَلِيمٌ
- All-Knower
And among the bedouins are some who consider what they spend as a loss and await for you turns of misfortune. Upon them will be a misfortune of evil. And Allah is Hearing and Knowing. (QS. [9] At-Tawbah: 98)Tafsir
وَمِنَ الْاَعْرَابِ مَنْ يُّؤْمِنُ بِاللّٰهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْاٰخِرِ وَيَتَّخِذُ مَا يُنْفِقُ قُرُبٰتٍ عِنْدَ اللّٰهِ وَصَلَوٰتِ الرَّسُوْلِ ۗ اَلَآ اِنَّهَا قُرْبَةٌ لَّهُمْ ۗ سَيُدْخِلُهُمُ اللّٰهُ فِيْ رَحْمَتِهٖ ۗاِنَّ اللّٰهَ غَفُوْرٌ رَّحِيْمٌ ࣖ ٩٩
- wamina
- وَمِنَ
- But among
- l-aʿrābi
- ٱلْأَعْرَابِ
- the bedouins
- man
- مَن
- (is he) who
- yu'minu
- يُؤْمِنُ
- believes
- bil-lahi
- بِٱللَّهِ
- in Allah
- wal-yawmi
- وَٱلْيَوْمِ
- and the Day
- l-ākhiri
- ٱلْءَاخِرِ
- the Last
- wayattakhidhu
- وَيَتَّخِذُ
- and takes
- mā
- مَا
- what
- yunfiqu
- يُنفِقُ
- he spends
- qurubātin
- قُرُبَٰتٍ
- (as) means of nearness
- ʿinda
- عِندَ
- with
- l-lahi
- ٱللَّهِ
- Allah
- waṣalawāti
- وَصَلَوَٰتِ
- and blessings
- l-rasūli
- ٱلرَّسُولِۚ
- (of) the Messenger
- alā
- أَلَآ
- Behold!
- innahā
- إِنَّهَا
- Indeed, it
- qur'batun
- قُرْبَةٌ
- (is) a means of nearness
- lahum
- لَّهُمْۚ
- for them
- sayud'khiluhumu
- سَيُدْخِلُهُمُ
- Allah will admit them
- l-lahu
- ٱللَّهُ
- Allah will admit them
- fī
- فِى
- to
- raḥmatihi
- رَحْمَتِهِۦٓۗ
- His Mercy
- inna
- إِنَّ
- Indeed
- l-laha
- ٱللَّهَ
- Allah
- ghafūrun
- غَفُورٌ
- (is) Oft-Forgiving
- raḥīmun
- رَّحِيمٌ
- Most Merciful
But among the bedouins are some who believe in Allah and the Last Day and consider what they spend as means of nearness to Allah and of [obtaining] invocations of the Messenger. Unquestionably, it is a means of nearness for them. Allah will admit them to His mercy. Indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful. (QS. [9] At-Tawbah: 99)Tafsir
وَالسّٰبِقُوْنَ الْاَوَّلُوْنَ مِنَ الْمُهٰجِرِيْنَ وَالْاَنْصَارِ وَالَّذِيْنَ اتَّبَعُوْهُمْ بِاِحْسَانٍۙ رَّضِيَ اللّٰهُ عَنْهُمْ وَرَضُوْا عَنْهُ وَاَعَدَّ لَهُمْ جَنّٰتٍ تَجْرِيْ تَحْتَهَا الْاَنْهٰرُ خٰلِدِيْنَ فِيْهَآ اَبَدًا ۗذٰلِكَ الْفَوْزُ الْعَظِيْمُ ١٠٠
- wal-sābiqūna
- وَٱلسَّٰبِقُونَ
- And the forerunners
- l-awalūna
- ٱلْأَوَّلُونَ
- the first
- mina
- مِنَ
- among
- l-muhājirīna
- ٱلْمُهَٰجِرِينَ
- the emigrants
- wal-anṣāri
- وَٱلْأَنصَارِ
- and the helpers
- wa-alladhīna
- وَٱلَّذِينَ
- and those who
- ittabaʿūhum
- ٱتَّبَعُوهُم
- followed them
- bi-iḥ'sānin
- بِإِحْسَٰنٍ
- in righteousness
- raḍiya
- رَّضِىَ
- Allah is pleased
- l-lahu
- ٱللَّهُ
- Allah is pleased
- ʿanhum
- عَنْهُمْ
- with them
- waraḍū
- وَرَضُوا۟
- and they are pleased
- ʿanhu
- عَنْهُ
- with Him
- wa-aʿadda
- وَأَعَدَّ
- And He has prepared
- lahum
- لَهُمْ
- for them
- jannātin
- جَنَّٰتٍ
- Gardens
- tajrī
- تَجْرِى
- flows
- taḥtahā
- تَحْتَهَا
- underneath it
- l-anhāru
- ٱلْأَنْهَٰرُ
- the rivers
- khālidīna
- خَٰلِدِينَ
- will abide
- fīhā
- فِيهَآ
- in it
- abadan
- أَبَدًاۚ
- forever
- dhālika
- ذَٰلِكَ
- That
- l-fawzu
- ٱلْفَوْزُ
- (is) the success
- l-ʿaẓīmu
- ٱلْعَظِيمُ
- the great
And the first forerunners [in the faith] among the Muhajireen and the Ansar and those who followed them with good conduct – Allah is pleased with them and they are pleased with Him, and He has prepared for them gardens beneath which rivers flow, wherein they will abide forever. That is the great attainment. (QS. [9] At-Tawbah: 100)Tafsir
