Al-Qur'an Surah Al-Ghashiyah Verse 8
Al-Ghashiyah [88]: 8 ~ English Qur'an Word By Word and Multi Tafseer
وُجُوْهٌ يَّوْمَىِٕذٍ نَّاعِمَةٌ ۙ (الغاشية : ٨٨)
- wujūhun
- وُجُوهٌ
- Faces
- yawma-idhin
- يَوْمَئِذٍ
- that Day
- nāʿimatun
- نَّاعِمَةٌ
- (will be) joyful
Transliteration:
Wujoohuny yawma 'izin naa'imah(QS. al-Ghāšiyah:8)
English / Sahih Translation:
[Other] faces, that Day, will show pleasure. (QS. Al-Ghashiyah, ayah 8)

The Condition of the People of Paradise on the Day of Judgement
After mentioning the situation of the wretched people, Allah changes the discussion to mention those who will be happy. He says,
وُجُوهٌ يَوْمَيِذٍ
Faces that Day.
meaning, on the Day of Judgement.
نَّاعِمَةٌ
will be joyful,
meaning, pleasure will be noticeable in them (those faces). This will only occur due to their striving.
