Al-Qur'an Surah Al-Ghashiyah Verse 2
Al-Ghashiyah [88]: 2 ~ English Qur'an Word By Word and Multi Tafseer
وُجُوْهٌ يَّوْمَىِٕذٍ خَاشِعَةٌ ۙ (الغاشية : ٨٨)
- wujūhun
- وُجُوهٌ
- Faces
- yawma-idhin
- يَوْمَئِذٍ
- that Day
- khāshiʿatun
- خَٰشِعَةٌ
- (will be) humbled
Transliteration:
Wujoohuny yawma 'izin khaashi'ah(QS. al-Ghāšiyah:2)
English / Sahih Translation:
[Some] faces, thatDay, will be humbled, (QS. Al-Ghashiyah, ayah 2)

meaning, humiliated. This was said by Qatadah.
Ibn `Abbas said,
"They will be humble but this action will be of no benefit to them."
Then Allah says,
عَامِلَةٌ نَّاصِبَةٌ
