هَلْ اَتٰىكَ حَدِيْثُ الْغَاشِيَةِۗ ١

- أَتَىٰكَ
- (there) come to you
- ḥadīthu
- حَدِيثُ
- (the) news
- l-ghāshiyati
- ٱلْغَٰشِيَةِ
- (of) the Overwhelming?
Has there reached you the report of the Overwhelming [event]? (QS. [88] Al-Ghashiyah: 1)Tafsir

وُجُوْهٌ يَّوْمَىِٕذٍ خَاشِعَةٌ ۙ ٢
- wujūhun
- وُجُوهٌ
- Faces
- yawma-idhin
- يَوْمَئِذٍ
- that Day
- khāshiʿatun
- خَٰشِعَةٌ
- (will be) humbled
[Some] faces, thatDay, will be humbled, (QS. [88] Al-Ghashiyah: 2)Tafsir

عَامِلَةٌ نَّاصِبَةٌ ۙ ٣
- ʿāmilatun
- عَامِلَةٌ
- Laboring
- nāṣibatun
- نَّاصِبَةٌ
- exhausted
Working [hard] and exhausted. (QS. [88] Al-Ghashiyah: 3)Tafsir
4
تَصْلٰى نَارًا حَامِيَةً ۙ ٤
- taṣlā
- تَصْلَىٰ
- They will burn
- nāran
- نَارًا
- (in) a Fire
- ḥāmiyatan
- حَامِيَةً
- intensely hot
They will [eter to] burn in an intensely hot Fire. (QS. [88] Al-Ghashiyah: 4)Tafsir
5
تُسْقٰى مِنْ عَيْنٍ اٰنِيَةٍ ۗ ٥
- tus'qā
- تُسْقَىٰ
- They will be given to drink

- مِنْ
- from
- ʿaynin
- عَيْنٍ
- a spring
- āniyatin
- ءَانِيَةٍ
- boiling
They will be given drink from a boiling spring. (QS. [88] Al-Ghashiyah: 5)Tafsir

لَيْسَ لَهُمْ طَعَامٌ اِلَّا مِنْ ضَرِيْعٍۙ ٦
- laysa
- لَّيْسَ
- Is not
- lahum
- لَهُمْ
- for them
- ṭaʿāmun
- طَعَامٌ
- food
- illā
- إِلَّا
- except
- min
- مِن
- from
- ḍarīʿin
- ضَرِيعٍ
- a bitter thorny plant
For them there will be no food except from a poisonous, thorny plant (QS. [88] Al-Ghashiyah: 6)Tafsir

لَّا يُسْمِنُ وَلَا يُغْنِيْ مِنْ جُوْعٍۗ ٧
- lā

- يُسْمِنُ
- it nourishes
- walā
- وَلَا
- and not
- yugh'nī
- يُغْنِى
- it avails

- against
- jūʿin
- جُوعٍ
- hunger
Which neither nourishes nor avails against hunger. (QS. [88] Al-Ghashiyah: 7)Tafsir

وُجُوْهٌ يَّوْمَىِٕذٍ نَّاعِمَةٌ ۙ ٨
- wujūhun
- وُجُوهٌ
- Faces
- yawma-idhin
- يَوْمَئِذٍ
- that Day
- nāʿimatun
- نَّاعِمَةٌ
- (will be) joyful
[Other] faces, that Day, will show pleasure. (QS. [88] Al-Ghashiyah: 8)Tafsir

لِّسَعْيِهَا رَاضِيَةٌ ۙ ٩
- lisaʿyihā
- لِّسَعْيِهَا
- With their effort
- rāḍiyatun
- رَاضِيَةٌ
- satisfied
With their effort [they are] satisfied (QS. [88] Al-Ghashiyah: 9)Tafsir

فِيْ جَنَّةٍ عَالِيَةٍۙ ١٠
- fī

- In
- jannatin
- جَنَّةٍ
- a garden
- ʿāliyatin
- عَالِيَةٍ
- elevated
In an elevated garden, (QS. [88] Al-Ghashiyah: 10)Tafsir
