11
وَيَتَجَنَّبُهَا الْاَشْقَىۙ ١١
- wayatajannabuhā
- وَيَتَجَنَّبُهَا
- And will avoid it
- l-ashqā
- ٱلْأَشْقَى
- the wretched one
But the wretched one will avoid it (QS. [87] Al-A'la: 11)Tafsir
12
الَّذِيْ يَصْلَى النَّارَ الْكُبْرٰىۚ ١٢
- alladhī
- ٱلَّذِى
- The one who
- yaṣlā
- يَصْلَى
- will burn
- l-nāra
- ٱلنَّارَ
- (in) the Fire
- l-kub'rā
- ٱلْكُبْرَىٰ
- [the] great
[He] who will [enter and] burn in the greatest Fire, (QS. [87] Al-A'la: 12)Tafsir
13
ثُمَّ لَا يَمُوْتُ فِيْهَا وَلَا يَحْيٰىۗ ١٣
- thumma
- ثُمَّ
- Then
- lā
- لَا
- not
- yamūtu
- يَمُوتُ
- he will die
- fīhā
- فِيهَا
- therein
- walā
- وَلَا
- and not
- yaḥyā
- يَحْيَىٰ
- will live
Neither dying therein nor living. (QS. [87] Al-A'la: 13)Tafsir
14
قَدْ اَفْلَحَ مَنْ تَزَكّٰىۙ ١٤
- qad
- قَدْ
- Certainly
- aflaḥa
- أَفْلَحَ
- has succeeded
- man
- مَن
- (one) who
- tazakkā
- تَزَكَّىٰ
- purifies (himself)
He has certainly succeeded who purifies himself (QS. [87] Al-A'la: 14)Tafsir
15
وَذَكَرَ اسْمَ رَبِّهٖ فَصَلّٰىۗ ١٥
- wadhakara
- وَذَكَرَ
- And remembers
- is'ma
- ٱسْمَ
- (the) name
- rabbihi
- رَبِّهِۦ
- (of) his Lord
- faṣallā
- فَصَلَّىٰ
- and prays
And mentions the name of his Lord and prays. (QS. [87] Al-A'la: 15)Tafsir
16
بَلْ تُؤْثِرُوْنَ الْحَيٰوةَ الدُّنْيَاۖ ١٦
- bal
- بَلْ
- Nay!
- tu'thirūna
- تُؤْثِرُونَ
- You prefer
- l-ḥayata
- ٱلْحَيَوٰةَ
- the life
- l-dun'yā
- ٱلدُّنْيَا
- (of) the world
But you prefer the worldly life, (QS. [87] Al-A'la: 16)Tafsir
17
وَالْاٰخِرَةُ خَيْرٌ وَّاَبْقٰىۗ ١٧
- wal-ākhiratu
- وَٱلْءَاخِرَةُ
- While the Hereafter
- khayrun
- خَيْرٌ
- (is) better
- wa-abqā
- وَأَبْقَىٰٓ
- and ever lasting
While the Hereafter is better and more enduring. (QS. [87] Al-A'la: 17)Tafsir
18
اِنَّ هٰذَا لَفِى الصُّحُفِ الْاُوْلٰىۙ ١٨
- inna
- إِنَّ
- Indeed
- hādhā
- هَٰذَا
- this
- lafī
- لَفِى
- surely (is) in
- l-ṣuḥufi
- ٱلصُّحُفِ
- the Scriptures
- l-ūlā
- ٱلْأُولَىٰ
- [the] former
Indeed, this is in the former scriptures, (QS. [87] Al-A'la: 18)Tafsir
19
صُحُفِ اِبْرٰهِيْمَ وَمُوْسٰى ࣖ ١٩
- ṣuḥufi
- صُحُفِ
- (The) Scriptures
- ib'rāhīma
- إِبْرَٰهِيمَ
- (of) Ibrahim
- wamūsā
- وَمُوسَىٰ
- and Musa
The scriptures of Abraham and Moses. (QS. [87] Al-A'la: 19)Tafsir
