At-Tariq [86]: 1 ~ English Qur'an Word By Word and Multi Tafseer

وَالسَّمَاۤءِ وَالطَّارِقِۙ (الطارق : ٨٦)

wal-samāi
وَٱلسَّمَآءِ
By the sky
wal-ṭāriqi
وَٱلطَّارِقِ
and the night comer

Transliteration:

Wassamaaa'i wattaariq (QS. aṭ-Ṭāriq̈:1)

English / Sahih Translation:

By the sky and the night comer . (QS. At-Tariq, ayah 1)

Tafsir jalalayn

By the heaven and the night-visitor! (al-triq actually denotes any thing that comes by night, including stars, because they come out at night).

Tafseer Ibn Kathir

Swearing by the Existence of Humanity surrounded by the Organized System of Allah

Allah swears by the heaven and what He has placed in it of radiant stars. Thus, He says,

وَالسَّمَاء وَالطَّارِقِ




By the heaven, and At-Tariq;

Then He says,

وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا الطَّارِقُ
