1
وَالسَّمَاۤءِ ذَاتِ الْبُرُوْجِۙ ١
- wal-samāi
- وَٱلسَّمَآءِ
- By the sky
- dhāti
- ذَاتِ
- containing
- l-burūji
- ٱلْبُرُوجِ
- the constellations
By the sky containing great stars (QS. [85] Al-Buruj: 1)Tafsir
2
وَالْيَوْمِ الْمَوْعُوْدِۙ ٢
- wal-yawmi
- وَٱلْيَوْمِ
- And the Day
- l-mawʿūdi
- ٱلْمَوْعُودِ
- Promised
And [by] the promised Day (QS. [85] Al-Buruj: 2)Tafsir
3
وَشَاهِدٍ وَّمَشْهُوْدٍۗ ٣
- washāhidin
- وَشَاهِدٍ
- And (the) witness
- wamashhūdin
- وَمَشْهُودٍ
- and what is witnessed
And [by] the witness and what is witnessed, (QS. [85] Al-Buruj: 3)Tafsir
4
قُتِلَ اَصْحٰبُ الْاُخْدُوْدِۙ ٤
- qutila
- قُتِلَ
- Destroyed were
- aṣḥābu
- أَصْحَٰبُ
- (the) companions
- l-ukh'dūdi
- ٱلْأُخْدُودِ
- (of) the pit
Destroyed [i.e., cursed] were the companions of the trench (QS. [85] Al-Buruj: 4)Tafsir
5
النَّارِ ذَاتِ الْوَقُوْدِۙ ٥
- al-nāri
- ٱلنَّارِ
- (Of) the fire
- dhāti
- ذَاتِ
- full
- l-waqūdi
- ٱلْوَقُودِ
- (of) the fuel
[Containing] the fire full of fuel, (QS. [85] Al-Buruj: 5)Tafsir
6
اِذْ هُمْ عَلَيْهَا قُعُوْدٌۙ ٦
- idh
- إِذْ
- When
- hum
- هُمْ
- they
- ʿalayhā
- عَلَيْهَا
- by it
- quʿūdun
- قُعُودٌ
- (were) sitting
When they were sitting near it. (QS. [85] Al-Buruj: 6)Tafsir
7
وَّهُمْ عَلٰى مَا يَفْعَلُوْنَ بِالْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ شُهُوْدٌ ۗ ٧
- wahum
- وَهُمْ
- And they
- ʿalā
- عَلَىٰ
- over
- mā
- مَا
- what
- yafʿalūna
- يَفْعَلُونَ
- they were doing
- bil-mu'minīna
- بِٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
- to the believers
- shuhūdun
- شُهُودٌ
- witnesses
And they, to what they were doing against the believers, were witnesses. (QS. [85] Al-Buruj: 7)Tafsir
8
وَمَا نَقَمُوْا مِنْهُمْ اِلَّآ اَنْ يُّؤْمِنُوْا بِاللّٰهِ الْعَزِيْزِ الْحَمِيْدِۙ ٨
- wamā
- وَمَا
- And not
- naqamū
- نَقَمُوا۟
- they resented
- min'hum
- مِنْهُمْ
- [of] them
- illā
- إِلَّآ
- except
- an
- أَن
- that
- yu'minū
- يُؤْمِنُوا۟
- they believed
- bil-lahi
- بِٱللَّهِ
- in Allah
- l-ʿazīzi
- ٱلْعَزِيزِ
- the All-Mighty
- l-ḥamīdi
- ٱلْحَمِيدِ
- the Praiseworthy
And they resented them not except because they believed in Allah, the Exalted in Might, the Praiseworthy, (QS. [85] Al-Buruj: 8)Tafsir
9
الَّذِيْ لَهٗ مُلْكُ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالْاَرْضِ ۗوَاللّٰهُ عَلٰى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ شَهِيْدٌ ۗ ٩
- alladhī
- ٱلَّذِى
- The One Who
- lahu
- لَهُۥ
- for Him
- mul'ku
- مُلْكُ
- (is) the dominion
- l-samāwāti
- ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ
- (of) the heavens
- wal-arḍi
- وَٱلْأَرْضِۚ
- and the earth;
- wal-lahu
- وَٱللَّهُ
- and Allah
- ʿalā
- عَلَىٰ
- on
- kulli
- كُلِّ
- every
- shayin
- شَىْءٍ
- thing
- shahīdun
- شَهِيدٌ
- (is) a Witness
To whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth. And Allah, over all things, is Witness. (QS. [85] Al-Buruj: 9)Tafsir
10
اِنَّ الَّذِيْنَ فَتَنُوا الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ وَالْمُؤْمِنٰتِ ثُمَّ لَمْ يَتُوْبُوْا فَلَهُمْ عَذَابُ جَهَنَّمَ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابُ الْحَرِيْقِۗ ١٠
- inna
- إِنَّ
- Indeed
- alladhīna
- ٱلَّذِينَ
- those who
- fatanū
- فَتَنُوا۟
- persecuted
- l-mu'minīna
- ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
- the believing men
- wal-mu'mināti
- وَٱلْمُؤْمِنَٰتِ
- and the believing women
- thumma
- ثُمَّ
- then
- lam
- لَمْ
- not
- yatūbū
- يَتُوبُوا۟
- they repented
- falahum
- فَلَهُمْ
- then for them
- ʿadhābu
- عَذَابُ
- (is) the punishment
- jahannama
- جَهَنَّمَ
- (of) Hell
- walahum
- وَلَهُمْ
- and for them
- ʿadhābu
- عَذَابُ
- (is the) punishment
- l-ḥarīqi
- ٱلْحَرِيقِ
- (of) the Burning Fire
Indeed, those who have tortured the believing men and believing women and then have not repented will have the punishment of Hell, and they will have the punishment of the Burning Fire. (QS. [85] Al-Buruj: 10)Tafsir
