Al-Qur'an Surah Al-Mutaffifin Verse 32

Al-Mutaffifin [83]: 32 ~ English Qur'an Word By Word and Multi Tafseer

وَاِذَا رَاَوْهُمْ قَالُوْٓا اِنَّ هٰٓؤُلَاۤءِ لَضَاۤلُّوْنَۙ (المطففين : ٨٣)

wa-idhā
وَإِذَا
And when
ra-awhum
رَأَوْهُمْ
they saw them
qālū
قَالُوٓا۟
they said
inna
إِنَّ
"Indeed
hāulāi
هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ
these
laḍāllūna
لَضَآلُّونَ
surely have gone astray"

Transliteration:

Wa izaa ra awhum qaalooo inna haaa'ulaaa'i ladaaal loon (QS. al-Muṭaffifīn:32)

English / Sahih Translation:

And when they saw them, they would say, "Indeed, those are truly lost." (QS. Al-Mutaffifin, ayah 32)

and when they saw them, they said, “Surely these are the ones who have gone astray”

And upon seeing the Muslims, they used to say, “Indeed they have gone astray.”

And when/if they saw them they said: "That truly, those are misguided (E)."

And if they saw them, they would say, “These people are lost.”

Tafsir jalalayn

and when they see them, that is, the believers, they say, `Lo! these [men] are astray!', on account of their belief in Muhammad (s).

Tafseer Ibn Kathir

And when they saw them, they said;"Verily, these have indeed gone astray!"

meaning, `because they are upon a religion other than their own religion.'

Allah then says,

وَمَا أُرْسِلُوا عَلَيْهِمْ حَافِظِينَ
