Al-Qur'an Surah Al-Mutaffifin Verse 15

Al-Mutaffifin [83]: 15 ~ English Qur'an Word By Word and Multi Tafseer

كَلَّآ اِنَّهُمْ عَنْ رَّبِّهِمْ يَوْمَىِٕذٍ لَّمَحْجُوْبُوْنَۗ (المطففين : ٨٣)

كَلَّآ
Nay!
innahum
إِنَّهُمْ
Indeed they
ʿan

their Lord
yawma-idhin
يَوْمَئِذٍ
that Day
lamaḥjūbūna
لَّمَحْجُوبُونَ
surely will be partitioned

Transliteration:

Kallaaa innahum 'ar Rabbihim yawma'izil lamah jooboon (QS. al-Muṭaffifīn:15)

English / Sahih Translation:

No! Indeed, from their Lord, that Day, they will be partitioned. (QS. Al-Mutaffifin, ayah 15)

No! Indeed they will be screened off from their Lord on that Day.

Undoubtedly, they will be sealed off from their Lord on that Day.

English Literal

No but, that they truly are from their Lord (on) that day being prevented (E).

Not at all. On that Day, they will be screened from their Lord.

Tafsir jalalayn

Nay!, verily, they, on that day, the Day of Resurrection, will be screened off from their Lord, and so they will not see Him.

Tafseer Ibn Kathir

Nay! Surely, they will be veiled from seeing their Lord that Day.

meaning, they will have a place on the Day of Judgement, and lodging in Sijjin. Along with this they will be veiled from seeing their Lord and Creator on the Day of Judgement.

Imam Abu Abdullah Ash-Shafi`i said,

"In this Ayah is a proof that the believers will see Him (Allah), the Mighty and Sublime, on that Day."

Concerning Allah's statement,

ثُمَّ إِنَّهُمْ لَصَالُوا الْجَحِيمِ
