Tafsir jalalayn

and when the heaven is stripped off, torn away from its place, just as the skin of a sheep is stripped off;

Tafseer Ibn Kathir

And when the heaven is Kushitat;

Mujahid said, "It drawns away."

As-Suddi said, "Stripped off."

Concerning Allah's statement,

وَإِذَا الْجَحِيمُ سُعِّرَتْ
