Al-Qur'an Surah 'Abasa Verse 4

'Abasa [80]: 4 ~ English Qur'an Word By Word and Multi Tafseer

اَوْ يَذَّكَّرُ فَتَنْفَعَهُ الذِّكْرٰىۗ (عبس : ٨٠)

Or
yadhakkaru
يَذَّكَّرُ
be reminded
fatanfaʿahu
فَتَنفَعَهُ
so would benefit him
l-dhik'rā
ٱلذِّكْرَىٰٓ
the reminder?

Transliteration:

Au yaz zak karu fatanfa 'ahuz zikraa. (QS. ʿAbasa:4)

English / Sahih Translation:

Or be reminded and the remembrance would benefit him? (QS. 'Abasa, ayah 4)

Tafseer Ibn Kathir

Or he might receive admonition, and the admonition might profit him?

meaning, he may receive admonition and abstain from the forbidden.
