Al-Qur'an Surah 'Abasa Verse 33

'Abasa [80]: 33 ~ English Qur'an Word By Word and Multi Tafseer

فَاِذَا جَاۤءَتِ الصَّاۤخَّةُ ۖ (عبس : ٨٠)

fa-idhā
فَإِذَا
But when
jāati
جَآءَتِ
comes
l-ṣākhatu
ٱلصَّآخَّةُ
the Deafening Blast

Transliteration:

Faiza jaa-atis saakhah. (QS. ʿAbasa:33)

English / Sahih Translation:

But when there comes the Deafening Blast (QS. 'Abasa, ayah 33)

So when the Deafening Noise will occur,

Then, when the Deafening Blast[[ This is the second Blast which will cause the dead to come to life for judgment. See {39:68}.]] comes to pass—

Tafsir jalalayn

So when the [deafening] Cry, the second blast, comes --

Tafseer Ibn Kathir

The Day of Judgement and the fleeing of the People from Their Relatives during it

Allah warns;

فَإِذَا جَاءتِ الصَّاخَّةُ




Then when there comes As-Sakhkhah.

Ibn `Abbas said,

"As-Sakhkhah is one of the names of the Day of Judgement that Allah has magnified and warned His servants of."

Ibn Jarir said,

"Perhaps it is a name for the blowing into Trumpet."

Al-Baghawi said,

"As-Sakhkhah means the thunderous shout of the Day of Judgement. It has been called this because it will deafen the ears.

This means that it pierces the hearing to such an extent that it almost deafens the ears."

يَوْمَ يَفِرُّ الْمَرْءُ مِنْ أَخِيهِ
