Surah 'Abasa - Page: 4

(He Frowned)

31

وَفَاكِهَةً وَّاَبًّا ٣١

wafākihatan
وَفَٰكِهَةً
And fruits
wa-abban
وَأَبًّا
and grass
And fruit and grass - (QS. [80] 'Abasa: 31)
Tafsir
32

مَتَاعًا لَّكُمْ وَلِاَنْعَامِكُمْۗ ٣٢

matāʿan
مَّتَٰعًا
(As) a provision
lakum
لَّكُمْ
for you
wali-anʿāmikum
وَلِأَنْعَٰمِكُمْ
and for your cattle
[As] enjoyment [i.e., provision] for you and your grazing livestock. (QS. [80] 'Abasa: 32)
Tafsir
33

فَاِذَا جَاۤءَتِ الصَّاۤخَّةُ ۖ ٣٣

fa-idhā
فَإِذَا
But when
jāati
جَآءَتِ
comes
l-ṣākhatu
ٱلصَّآخَّةُ
the Deafening Blast
But when there comes the Deafening Blast (QS. [80] 'Abasa: 33)
Tafsir
34

يَوْمَ يَفِرُّ الْمَرْءُ مِنْ اَخِيْهِۙ ٣٤

yawma
يَوْمَ
(The) Day
yafirru
يَفِرُّ
will flee
l-maru
ٱلْمَرْءُ
a man
min
مِنْ
from
akhīhi
أَخِيهِ
his brother
On the Day a man will flee from his brother . (QS. [80] 'Abasa: 34)

35

وَاُمِّهٖ وَاَبِيْهِۙ ٣٥

wa-ummihi
وَأُمِّهِۦ
And his mother
wa-abīhi
وَأَبِيهِ
and his father
And his mother and his father . (QS. [80] 'Abasa: 35)

36

وَصَاحِبَتِهٖ وَبَنِيْهِۗ ٣٦

waṣāḥibatihi
وَصَٰحِبَتِهِۦ
And his wife
wabanīhi
وَبَنِيهِ
and his children
And his wife and his children, (QS. [80] 'Abasa: 36)
Tafsir
37

لِكُلِّ امْرِئٍ مِّنْهُمْ يَوْمَىِٕذٍ شَأْنٌ يُّغْنِيْهِۗ ٣٧

likulli
لِكُلِّ
For every
im'ri-in
ٱمْرِئٍ
man
min'hum
مِّنْهُمْ
among them
yawma-idhin
يَوْمَئِذٍ
that Day
shanun
شَأْنٌ
(will be) a matter
yugh'nīhi
يُغْنِيهِ
occupying him
For every man, that Day, will be a matter adequate for him. (QS. [80] 'Abasa: 37)

38

وُجُوْهٌ يَّوْمَىِٕذٍ مُّسْفِرَةٌۙ ٣٨

wujūhun
وُجُوهٌ
Faces
yawma-idhin
يَوْمَئِذٍ
that Day
mus'firatun
مُّسْفِرَةٌ
(will be) bright
[Some] faces, that Day, will be bright - (QS. [80] 'Abasa: 38)
Tafsir
39

ضَاحِكَةٌ مُّسْتَبْشِرَةٌ ۚ ٣٩

ḍāḥikatun
ضَاحِكَةٌ
Laughing
mus'tabshiratun
مُّسْتَبْشِرَةٌ
rejoicing at good news
Laughing, rejoicing at good news. (QS. [80] 'Abasa: 39)

وَوُجُوْهٌ يَّوْمَىِٕذٍ عَلَيْهَا غَبَرَةٌۙ ٤٠

wawujūhun
وَوُجُوهٌ
And faces
yawma-idhin
يَوْمَئِذٍ
that Day
ʿalayhā
عَلَيْهَا
upon them
ghabaratun
غَبَرَةٌ
(will be) dust
And [other] faces, that Day, will have upon them dust. (QS. [80] 'Abasa: 40)
