Al-Qur'an Surah Al-Anfal Verse 51
Al-Anfal [8]: 51 ~ English Qur'an Word By Word and Multi Tafseer
ذٰلِكَ بِمَا قَدَّمَتْ اَيْدِيْكُمْ وَاَنَّ اللّٰهَ لَيْسَ بِظَلَّامٍ لِّلْعَبِيْدِۙ (الأنفال : ٨)
- dhālika

- (is) for what

- قَدَّمَتْ
- sent forth
- aydīkum
- أَيْدِيكُمْ
- your hands
- wa-anna
- وَأَنَّ
- And indeed

- ٱللَّهَ

- لَيْسَ
- (is) not
- biẓallāmin
- بِظَلَّٰمٍ
- unjust
- lil'ʿabīdi
- لِّلْعَبِيدِ
- to His slaves
Transliteration:
Zaalika bimaa qaddamat aideekum wa anal laaha laisa bizallaamil lil 'abeed(QS. al-ʾAnfāl:51)
English / Sahih Translation:
That is for what your hands have put forth [of evil] and because Allah is not ever unjust to [His] servants." (QS. Al-Anfal, ayah 51)
Mufti Taqi Usmani
That is due to what your hands sent ahead, and that Allah is not cruel to (His) servants.”

This is ˹the reward˺ for what your hands have done. And Allah is never unjust to ˹His˺ creation.”

That (is) with what your hands advanced/undertook , and that God (is) not with an unjust/oppressor to the worshippers/slaves.

Tafsir jalalayn
That, chastisement, is for what your hands have sent before you -- He refers to this [their actions] exclusively with these [hands], because most actions are accomplished with them -- and [know] that God is never unjust to His servants', such that he would punish them for no sin.
Tafseer Ibn Kathir
ذَلِكَ بِمَا قَدَّمَتْ أَيْدِيكُمْ
This is because of that which your hands forwarded.
meaning, this punishment is the recompense of the evil deeds that you have committed in the life of the world. This is your reckoning from Allah for your deeds,
وَأَنَّ اللّهَ لَيْسَ بِظَلَّمٍ لِّلْعَبِيدِ
And verily, Allah is not unjust to His servants.
Certainly, Allah does not wrong any of His creatures, for He is the Just, who never puts anything in an inappropriate place. Honored, Glorified, Exalted and Praised be He, the All-Rich, Worthy of all praise.
Muslim recorded that Abu Dharr said that the Messenger of Allah said;
إنَّ اللهَ تَعَالَى يَقُولُ يَا عِبَادِي إِنِّي حَرَّمْتُ الظُّلْمَ عَلَى نَفْسِي وَجَعَلْتُهُ بَيْنَكُمْ مُحَرَّمًا فَلَ تَظَالَمُوا
يَا عِبَادِي إِنَّمَا هِيَ أَعْمَالُكُمْ أُحْصِيهَا لَكُمْ فَمَنْ وَجَدَ خَيْرًا فَلْيَحْمَدِ اللهَ وَمَنْ وَجَدَ غَيْرَ ذَلِكَ فَلَا يَلُومَنَّ إِلاَّ نَفْسَه
Allah, the Exalted, said, `O My servants! I have prohibited injustice for Myself, and made it prohibited to you between each other. Therefore, do not commit injustice against each other.
O My servants! It is your deeds that I am keeping count of, so whoever found something good, let him praise Allah for it. Whoever found other than that, has only himself to blame.
This is why Allah said
