۞ وَاِنْ جَنَحُوْا لِلسَّلْمِ فَاجْنَحْ لَهَا وَتَوَكَّلْ عَلَى اللّٰهِ ۗاِنَّهٗ هُوَ السَّمِيْعُ الْعَلِيْمُ ٦١
- wa-in
- وَإِن
- And if
- janaḥū
- جَنَحُوا۟
- they incline
- lilssalmi
- لِلسَّلْمِ
- to peace
- fa-ij'naḥ
- فَٱجْنَحْ
- then you (also) incline
- lahā
- لَهَا
- to it
- watawakkal
- وَتَوَكَّلْ
- and put (your) trust
- ʿalā
- عَلَى
- in
- l-lahi
- ٱللَّهِۚ
- Allah
- innahu
- إِنَّهُۥ
- Indeed
- huwa
- هُوَ
- He
- l-samīʿu
- ٱلسَّمِيعُ
- (is) All-Hearer
- l-ʿalīmu
- ٱلْعَلِيمُ
- All-Knower
And if they incline to peace, then incline to it [also] and rely upon Allah. Indeed, it is He who is the Hearing, the Knowing. (QS. [8] Al-Anfal: 61)Tafsir
وَاِنْ يُّرِيْدُوْٓا اَنْ يَّخْدَعُوْكَ فَاِنَّ حَسْبَكَ اللّٰهُ ۗهُوَ الَّذِيْٓ اَيَّدَكَ بِنَصْرِهٖ وَبِالْمُؤْمِنِيْنَۙ ٦٢
- wa-in
- وَإِن
- But if
- yurīdū
- يُرِيدُوٓا۟
- they intend
- an
- أَن
- to
- yakhdaʿūka
- يَخْدَعُوكَ
- deceive you
- fa-inna
- فَإِنَّ
- then indeed
- ḥasbaka
- حَسْبَكَ
- is sufficient for you
- l-lahu
- ٱللَّهُۚ
- Allah
- huwa
- هُوَ
- He
- alladhī
- ٱلَّذِىٓ
- (is) the One Who
- ayyadaka
- أَيَّدَكَ
- supported you
- binaṣrihi
- بِنَصْرِهِۦ
- with His help
- wabil-mu'minīna
- وَبِٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
- and with the believers
But if they intend to deceive you – then sufficient for you is Allah. It is He who supported you with His help and with the believers (QS. [8] Al-Anfal: 62)Tafsir
وَاَلَّفَ بَيْنَ قُلُوْبِهِمْۗ لَوْاَنْفَقْتَ مَا فِى الْاَرْضِ جَمِيْعًا مَّآ اَلَّفْتَ بَيْنَ قُلُوْبِهِمْ وَلٰكِنَّ اللّٰهَ اَلَّفَ بَيْنَهُمْۗ اِنَّهٗ عَزِيْزٌ حَكِيْمٌ ٦٣
- wa-allafa
- وَأَلَّفَ
- And He (has) put affection
- bayna
- بَيْنَ
- between
- qulūbihim
- قُلُوبِهِمْۚ
- their hearts
- law
- لَوْ
- If
- anfaqta
- أَنفَقْتَ
- you (had) spent
- mā
- مَا
- whatever
- fī
- فِى
- (is) in
- l-arḍi
- ٱلْأَرْضِ
- the earth
- jamīʿan
- جَمِيعًا
- all
- mā
- مَّآ
- not
- allafta
- أَلَّفْتَ
- (could) you (have) put affection
- bayna
- بَيْنَ
- between
- qulūbihim
- قُلُوبِهِمْ
- their hearts
- walākinna
- وَلَٰكِنَّ
- but
- l-laha
- ٱللَّهَ
- Allah
- allafa
- أَلَّفَ
- (has) put affection
- baynahum
- بَيْنَهُمْۚ
- between them
- innahu
- إِنَّهُۥ
- Indeed, He
- ʿazīzun
- عَزِيزٌ
- (is) All-Mighty
- ḥakīmun
- حَكِيمٌ
- All-Wise
And brought together their hearts. If you had spent all that is in the earth, you could not have brought their hearts together; but Allah brought them together. Indeed, He is Exalted in Might and Wise. (QS. [8] Al-Anfal: 63)Tafsir
يٰٓاَيُّهَا النَّبِيُّ حَسْبُكَ اللّٰهُ وَمَنِ اتَّبَعَكَ مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ ࣖ ٦٤
- yāayyuhā
- يَٰٓأَيُّهَا
- O!
- l-nabiyu
- ٱلنَّبِىُّ
- Prophet!
- ḥasbuka
- حَسْبُكَ
- Sufficient for you
- l-lahu
- ٱللَّهُ
- (is) Allah
- wamani
- وَمَنِ
- and whoever
- ittabaʿaka
- ٱتَّبَعَكَ
- follows you
- mina
- مِنَ
- of
- l-mu'minīna
- ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
- the believers
O Prophet, sufficient for you is Allah and for whoever follows you of the believers. (QS. [8] Al-Anfal: 64)Tafsir
يٰٓاَيُّهَا النَّبِيُّ حَرِّضِ الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ عَلَى الْقِتَالِۗ اِنْ يَّكُنْ مِّنْكُمْ عِشْرُوْنَ صَابِرُوْنَ يَغْلِبُوْا مِائَتَيْنِۚ وَاِنْ يَّكُنْ مِّنْكُمْ مِّائَةٌ يَّغْلِبُوْٓا اَلْفًا مِّنَ الَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوْا بِاَنَّهُمْ قَوْمٌ لَّا يَفْقَهُوْنَ ٦٥
- yāayyuhā
- يَٰٓأَيُّهَا
- O!
- l-nabiyu
- ٱلنَّبِىُّ
- Prophet!
- ḥarriḍi
- حَرِّضِ
- Urge
- l-mu'minīna
- ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
- the believers
- ʿalā
- عَلَى
- to
- l-qitāli
- ٱلْقِتَالِۚ
- [the] fight
- in
- إِن
- If
- yakun
- يَكُن
- (there) are
- minkum
- مِّنكُمْ
- among you
- ʿish'rūna
- عِشْرُونَ
- twenty
- ṣābirūna
- صَٰبِرُونَ
- steadfast
- yaghlibū
- يَغْلِبُوا۟
- they will overcome
- mi-atayni
- مِا۟ئَتَيْنِۚ
- two hundred
- wa-in
- وَإِن
- And if
- yakun
- يَكُن
- (there) are
- minkum
- مِّنكُم
- among you
- mi-atun
- مِّا۟ئَةٌ
- a hundred
- yaghlibū
- يَغْلِبُوٓا۟
- they will overcome
- alfan
- أَلْفًا
- a thousand
- mina
- مِّنَ
- of
- alladhīna
- ٱلَّذِينَ
- those who
- kafarū
- كَفَرُوا۟
- disbelieve
- bi-annahum
- بِأَنَّهُمْ
- because they
- qawmun
- قَوْمٌ
- (are) a people
- lā
- لَّا
- (who do) not
- yafqahūna
- يَفْقَهُونَ
- understand
O Prophet, urge the believers to battle. If there are among you twenty [who are] steadfast, they will overcome two hundred. And if there are among you one hundred [who are steadfast], they will overcome a thousand of those who have disbelieved because they are a people who do not understand. (QS. [8] Al-Anfal: 65)Tafsir
اَلْـٰٔنَ خَفَّفَ اللّٰهُ عَنْكُمْ وَعَلِمَ اَنَّ فِيْكُمْ ضَعْفًاۗ فَاِنْ يَّكُنْ مِّنْكُمْ مِّائَةٌ صَابِرَةٌ يَّغْلِبُوْا مِائَتَيْنِۚ وَاِنْ يَّكُنْ مِّنْكُمْ اَلْفٌ يَّغْلِبُوْٓا اَلْفَيْنِ بِاِذْنِ اللّٰهِ ۗوَاللّٰهُ مَعَ الصّٰبِرِيْنَ ٦٦
- al-āna
- ٱلْـَٰٔنَ
- Now
- khaffafa
- خَفَّفَ
- has (been) lightened
- l-lahu
- ٱللَّهُ
- (by) Allah
- ʿankum
- عَنكُمْ
- for you
- waʿalima
- وَعَلِمَ
- and He knows
- anna
- أَنَّ
- that
- fīkum
- فِيكُمْ
- in you
- ḍaʿfan
- ضَعْفًاۚ
- (there) is weakness
- fa-in
- فَإِن
- So if
- yakun
- يَكُن
- (there) are
- minkum
- مِّنكُم
- among you
- mi-atun
- مِّا۟ئَةٌ
- a hundred
- ṣābiratun
- صَابِرَةٌ
- steadfast
- yaghlibū
- يَغْلِبُوا۟
- they will overcome
- mi-atayni
- مِا۟ئَتَيْنِۚ
- two hundred
- wa-in
- وَإِن
- And if
- yakun
- يَكُن
- (there) are
- minkum
- مِّنكُمْ
- among you
- alfun
- أَلْفٌ
- a thousand
- yaghlibū
- يَغْلِبُوٓا۟
- they will overcome
- alfayni
- أَلْفَيْنِ
- two thousand
- bi-idh'ni
- بِإِذْنِ
- with (the) permission
- l-lahi
- ٱللَّهِۗ
- (of) Allah
- wal-lahu
- وَٱللَّهُ
- And Allah
- maʿa
- مَعَ
- (is) with
- l-ṣābirīna
- ٱلصَّٰبِرِينَ
- the steadfast
Now, Allah has lightened [the hardship] for you, and He knows that among you is weakness. So if there are from you one hundred [who are] steadfast, they will overcome two hundred. And if there are among you a thousand, they will overcome two thousand by permission of Allah. And Allah is with the steadfast. (QS. [8] Al-Anfal: 66)Tafsir
مَاكَانَ لِنَبِيٍّ اَنْ يَّكُوْنَ لَهٗٓ اَسْرٰى حَتّٰى يُثْخِنَ فِى الْاَرْضِۗ تُرِيْدُوْنَ عَرَضَ الدُّنْيَاۖ وَاللّٰهُ يُرِيْدُ الْاٰخِرَةَۗ وَاللّٰهُ عَزِيْزٌحَكِيْمٌ ٦٧
- mā
- مَا
- Not
- kāna
- كَانَ
- is
- linabiyyin
- لِنَبِىٍّ
- for a Prophet
- an
- أَن
- that
- yakūna
- يَكُونَ
- (there) should be
- lahu
- لَهُۥٓ
- for him
- asrā
- أَسْرَىٰ
- prisoners of war
- ḥattā
- حَتَّىٰ
- until
- yuth'khina
- يُثْخِنَ
- he has battled strenuously
- fī
- فِى
- in
- l-arḍi
- ٱلْأَرْضِۚ
- the land
- turīdūna
- تُرِيدُونَ
- You desire
- ʿaraḍa
- عَرَضَ
- (the) commodities
- l-dun'yā
- ٱلدُّنْيَا
- (of) the world
- wal-lahu
- وَٱللَّهُ
- but Allah
- yurīdu
- يُرِيدُ
- desires
- l-ākhirata
- ٱلْءَاخِرَةَۗ
- (for you) the Hereafter
- wal-lahu
- وَٱللَّهُ
- And Allah
- ʿazīzun
- عَزِيزٌ
- (is) All-Mighty
- ḥakīmun
- حَكِيمٌ
- All-Wise
It is not for a prophet to have captives [of war] until he inflicts a massacre [upon Allah's enemies] in the land. You [i.e., some Muslims] desire the commodities of this world, but Allah desires [for you] the Hereafter. And Allah is Exalted in Might and Wise. (QS. [8] Al-Anfal: 67)Tafsir
لَوْلَاكِتٰبٌ مِّنَ اللّٰهِ سَبَقَ لَمَسَّكُمْ فِيْمَآ اَخَذْتُمْ عَذَابٌ عَظِيْمٌ ٦٨
- lawlā
- لَّوْلَا
- Had not
- kitābun
- كِتَٰبٌ
- an ordainment
- mina
- مِّنَ
- from
- l-lahi
- ٱللَّهِ
- Allah
- sabaqa
- سَبَقَ
- preceded
- lamassakum
- لَمَسَّكُمْ
- surely (would) have touched you
- fīmā
- فِيمَآ
- for what
- akhadhtum
- أَخَذْتُمْ
- you took
- ʿadhābun
- عَذَابٌ
- a punishment
- ʿaẓīmun
- عَظِيمٌ
- great
If not for a decree from Allah that preceded, you would have been touched for what you took by a great punishment. (QS. [8] Al-Anfal: 68)Tafsir
فَكُلُوْا مِمَّاغَنِمْتُمْ حَلٰلًا طَيِّبًاۖ وَّاتَّقُوا اللّٰهَ ۗاِنَّ اللّٰهَ غَفُوْرٌ رَّحِيْمٌ ٦٩
- fakulū
- فَكُلُوا۟
- So eat
- mimmā
- مِمَّا
- from what
- ghanim'tum
- غَنِمْتُمْ
- you got as war booty -
- ḥalālan
- حَلَٰلًا
- lawful
- ṭayyiban
- طَيِّبًاۚ
- (and) good
- wa-ittaqū
- وَٱتَّقُوا۟
- and fear
- l-laha
- ٱللَّهَۚ
- Allah
- inna
- إِنَّ
- Indeed
- l-laha
- ٱللَّهَ
- Allah
- ghafūrun
- غَفُورٌ
- (is) Oft-Forgiving
- raḥīmun
- رَّحِيمٌ
- Most Merciful
So consume what you have taken of war booty [as being] lawful and good, and fear Allah. Indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful. (QS. [8] Al-Anfal: 69)Tafsir
يٰٓاَيُّهَا النَّبِيُّ قُلْ لِّمَنْ فِيْٓ اَيْدِيْكُمْ مِّنَ الْاَسْرٰٓىۙ اِنْ يَّعْلَمِ اللّٰهُ فِيْ قُلُوْبِكُمْ خَيْرًا يُّؤْتِكُمْ خَيْرًا مِّمَّآ اُخِذَ مِنْكُمْ وَيَغْفِرْ لَكُمْۗ وَاللّٰهُ غَفُوْرٌ رَّحِيْمٌ ࣖ ٧٠
- yāayyuhā
- يَٰٓأَيُّهَا
- O!
- l-nabiyu
- ٱلنَّبِىُّ
- Prophet!
- qul
- قُل
- Say
- liman
- لِّمَن
- to whoever
- fī
- فِىٓ
- (is) in
- aydīkum
- أَيْدِيكُم
- your hands
- mina
- مِّنَ
- of
- l-asrā
- ٱلْأَسْرَىٰٓ
- the captives
- in
- إِن
- "If
- yaʿlami
- يَعْلَمِ
- knows
- l-lahu
- ٱللَّهُ
- Allah
- fī
- فِى
- in
- qulūbikum
- قُلُوبِكُمْ
- your hearts
- khayran
- خَيْرًا
- any good
- yu'tikum
- يُؤْتِكُمْ
- He will give you
- khayran
- خَيْرًا
- better
- mimmā
- مِّمَّآ
- than what
- ukhidha
- أُخِذَ
- was taken
- minkum
- مِنكُمْ
- from you
- wayaghfir
- وَيَغْفِرْ
- and He will forgive
- lakum
- لَكُمْۗ
- you
- wal-lahu
- وَٱللَّهُ
- And Allah
- ghafūrun
- غَفُورٌ
- (is) Oft-Forgiving
- raḥīmun
- رَّحِيمٌ
- Most Merciful"
O Prophet, say to whoever is in your hands of the captives, "If Allah knows [any] good in your hearts, He will give you [something] better than what was taken from you, and He will forgive you; and Allah is Forgiving and Merciful." (QS. [8] Al-Anfal: 70)Tafsir
